Over an ocean, birds were flying and porpoises were swimming happily. From the fog a ship appeared crashing through the waves.

Senku Ishigami stood on the ship with Taiju Oki, the wind against them.

"So you said that this is where you received the distress signal?" Taiju asked. "And it was from a weird radio in your house."

"It's my dad's." Senku said. "He said he's had it a long time, and from what I checked, it shouldn't be recieving. The location where the signal comes from—there's nothing there; just ocean."

"What about a boat? Maybe someone's in trouble?!" Taiju cried. "We should tell—"

"Dial it back Taiju," Senku said. "I'm ten billion percent sure there's nothin there. I used satellites to monitor. Nothin but sea. It's a puzzle alright. Gets me excited!"

"A puzzle…" Taiju said, looking at the water. "Down there, fathoms below…"
