"Well this is new." Alexis says as the group sees Jessa walk up to them with a girl who looks like her twin.
"Jessa what did you do?" Max asks.
"Duplication spell gone wrong?" Brax asks.
"Do you know how illegal that is? I like the hair though. You should try it for real." Terra says.
"Hi I'm Jae and this is my friend Alexis." Jae says as he and Alexis go up to the new girl.
"Hello." Alexis says kindly.
"Mischa." The girl says kindly.
"She's my twin sister. Apparently when my mom ran out on my dad they split the assets. Mischa this is Max and his brother Brax. This here is Terra and you already met Jae and Alexis. Vampire, shifter, magic user, faerie, shifter." Jessa says.
"Hi!" The group says.
"So do you go here now?" Terra asks as she looks at Mischa.
"Starting today." Jessa says as she and Terra huddle together abd talk before Jessa's dad walks over.
"Sorry to interrupt the fun I need to take Mischa to the Headmaster's office to enroll her." Mr. Lebron says.
"Why can't mom take me?" Mischa asks.
"It's better if I handle it." Mr. Lebron says.
"Dad is Pack Alpha and Stratford Council Leader. People don't say no to him." Jessa says.
"I know this is a big adjustment... Please give it a chance Mischa." Mr. Lebron says as he and Mischa walk off.
"Oh! This pack just got so much cooler." Brax says happily.
"I know right? Two Jessas!" Terra says happily.
*Timeskip*
"You didn't get any food?" Max asks as Mischa comes over with Jessa.
"No. She just pissed off a mermaid on her first day." Jessa says.
"Nice. Any bones broken?" Brax asks.
"No. Also I just met a mermaid so there's that!" Mischa says nervously.
"Don't take it personally. They tend to be pretty grouchy on dry-land." Max says.
"You can share mine. What do you like? Pizza? Ribs? I have two pot pies if you don't mind liver." Jessa says as she pushes her tray toward Mischa.
"Can I just get a protein bar? Maybe an apple? Hey are those energy shots? I love those! What flavor did you get?" Mischa asks as she sees Max's bottles of blood.
"You don't want those. It's hemoglobin." Max says as he moves the bottles.
"Max needs his daily dose or he gets... well hangry doesn't quite cover it." Brax says.
"All Vampires do." Max says.
"So you really drink..." Mischa asks nervously.
"Not without permission. These have all the nutrients I need." Max says.
"Is it rude to ask how're you out in the daytime? Is it a special spell?" Mischa asks as the group laughs.
"Mischa vampires aren't actually affected by sunlight. Some stuff in those human movies and shows is correct but the majority isn't." Alexis says.
"Humans get everything wrong." Jessa says.
"Dramatic license I guess? I do hate garlic though." Max says.
"I'll remember that." Mischa says.
"You can have these if you want." Jae says as he pushes his tray of bars over to Mischa.
"And here Mischa. You can have my protein shake. I always keep a spare on me in case I get hungry during class." Alexis says as she gives Mischa a bottle.
"You're sure? Thanks. This is delicious! Is this special faerie food?" Mischa asks as she begins eating the bars.
"Nope. It's a nanaimo bar. I'm from Canada." Jae says as he smiles.
"This place must seem pretty weird to you. I mean after growing up outside the boundary." Max says as he looks at Mischa.
"Sort of I mean I've been to a lot of schools. I've never pissed of a mermaid before but every school has an Elda. There is always someone who feels better about themselves by telling you how ugly your hair is." Mischa says.
"I like your hair." Max says as he smiles at Mischa causing her to smile.
*Timeskip*
"We still don't know anything about that kid that we saw in the woods but we do know that the door we saw Kristov pool out of thin air would take serious magic. I wanna know where he was going. And there is one place I can think of to find out." Jessa says as the group is gathered outside at night as Jessa points to a tower.
"The Headmaster's study? Do you know how well warded that is?" Max asks in surprise.
"The staircase is sealed after the last curfew bell. The stonework is enchanted to prevent climbing." Jessa says.
"And there's shielding to prevent fly ups." Brax says.
"How do you know...? Never mind." Max says.
"But there is a way up there. Tithe lines." Jessa says.
"Of course. Tithe lines. Now let's see." Terra says as she uses magic to see the lines.
"Every inch of campus is linked together by tithe lines. Every student here is contributing power to the school's grid." Jessa says.
"Except Mischa. She doesn't have her power yet." Alexis says.
"Terra can reveal the lines and a faerie can tap their natural magic to ride the waves." Jessa says.
"At your service." Jae says as he bows causing Alexis to chuckle.
"I'm in." Brax says.
"Sorry Brax the tithe lines are delicate and you're... You're Brax. You're on aerial duty. Help Max and Alexis keep watch." Jessa says as she goes over to Brax.
"Night vision... Activated." Max says as his eyes glow while Alexis shifts to wolf form.
"Mischa you're with Terra. Ready?" Jessa says as everyone gets to work as Terra makes the lines visible while Jae begins giving Jessa a lift on the lines.
"Wow!" Mischa says in amazement.
"That was weird..." Terra says as Jae trips over something on the line but manages to get up to the tower with Jessa as Brax flies in dragon form nearby before Jessa and Jae begin making their way back down.
"Hurry!" Terra says as she begins struggling.
"Hurry!" Mischa shouts causing lights and alarms to go off as Terra loses grip on the line before Brax catches Jessa and Jae as they land back on the ground safely.
"What is going on here?" Headmaster Kristoff shouts in the distance causing everyone to quickly scatter to avoid being caught.
