Sesshomaru halted and put out his arm, stopping Kagome. His father caught up in a few strides. "What is it?"
"He is near,"
"Do you think Kaugra was successful?" His father asked,
But dark, deep laughter and thick dark clouds told them they were out of time.
Naraku appeared and without the wind witch, which meant she probably didnt fool Naraku.
They all took their defense stands, which only made him laugh more. "Sesshomaru, why dont you introduce me,"
Damn.
"He does not look like clay and dirt, nor does he smell like it. Did you really think to fool me with such a lie?"
No, not face to face; they had just hoped it would buy them time.
"I will say, though, before I punished the wind for her lies, she did tell me a great bit of information,"
"Yeah, what of it?" Inuyasha growled,
Naraku smirked. "That your father can't save you won't."
Inuyasha looked back at his father, who only smirked in return, and then the fight began.
Miroku and Sango took the first beating and were rendered useless, but they were alive.
Naraku kept dodging both Sesshomaru's and Inuyasha's swords, and the two standing Mikos had not even had a chance to shoot an arrow. They were good, but the target was moving much too fast with two others they didn't want to shoot.
"You may hurt my body, but you can't kill me without my heart!" Naraku looked at Toga.
Toga's smirk grew, showing off his fangs, and it wiped the look off Naraku's face. "You underestimated me today," He sneered,
"And you don't know me," Toga replied, taking out his sword.
Meanwhile, A demoness woman was making her way into a deep dark cave filled with other demons, but these branch-offs of Naraku didn't dare make a move on this woman, and the ones who did meet their end with ease with a swipe of her claw.
At the end of this cave, she found a wind witch chained up.
The woman smirked. "So this is his plan,"
Kagura opened her eyes. "Sesshomaru, no, wait," Her eyes focused and then widened. The person in front of her was not Sesshomaru but his mother.
Back on the field, Toga stood ready to fight.
"What have you done with Kaugra," Kikyo asked,
Naraku looked at her. "Why do you care?"
It was odd, even for him. Kaugra always tricked and lied to him, but she was chained to him and, therefore, at his side almost all the time.
Why would he send her away now of all times?
"Ah, I see the question in your eyes, Miko,"
Inuyasha growled and stood in front of her,
"You see, she doesn't always lie, and I know of the feelings between the wind and dark prince,"
Everyone raised an eyebrow.
"She would have betrayed me this day, but I turned the tables on that one," He laughed. "You see, it's simple; you die, she lives. Tell me, Sesshomaru, are you willing to die for her? Shall I kill you first?"
Sesshomaru wasn't sure if this web was spun by the wind or someone else, or perhaps it was all part of his plan to wedge doubt between them. There was nothing going on between him and that witch, but something did dawn on him, and he took off without notice.
"Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha yelled,
Even Toga had to pause for a moment but not worry. Everything was fine, at least for now.
But it left Kagome open and unprotected.
Sesshomaru flew; he wasn't sure where to go, but he searched for the wind, but it was not the wind who caught his attention. It was his mother's power. He followed it.
Why was she here?
He met the same demons in the same cave, and with a swipe of his claw, he dispatched them with ease before coming to stand by his mother in front of Kaugra, and he knew he was right.
Kaugra wanted a heart, and she had one, Naraku's.
He could hear it in her chest, and it was making her sick.
Sesshomaru looked at his mother. "Why are you here,"
"Be grateful; I guided you, did I not?"
It meant her being here was his father's plan, he knew.
"Well, are you going to kill her?"
Sesshomaru's eyes wideend.
Meanwhile, Kagome was running, and despite Inuyasha and Toga cutting and blasting away at the beast, her ankle was still caught, and she was dragged. No matter how many tentacles she purified, more kept coming.
It was useless to fight him this way, and in her mind, she wondered where Sesshomary went.
Didnt he say they would stand together?
Now, she wasn't standing at all, and she was inches away from Narakus's clutch.
She had the jewel, but what could she do?
What could any of them do?
"Sesshomaru," She whispered, she thought he would protect her.
She closed her hands around the jewel as Naraku brought her closer. She could not let him get it. She swallowed it.
He yanked her up. "Do you think that will stop me?"
"If I make a wish, it will," But she wasn't sure of that.
"Oh by all means Miko," He chuckled, he knew she wouldn't, couldn't.
Narakus's hand went through her side.
"Kagome!" They all screamed as blood splattered into the air.
Naraku pulled out the jewel. "Stupid move, girl,"
It didnt matter, he didnt have his heart.
They would all die, after all. She closed her eyes and thought of peaches.
