Sesshomaru hesited. Kagura didn't really deserve death.
Kaugra smirked. "How sweet, you care," Her smile faded. "He is betting on your hesitation, Sesshomaru,"
Sesshomaru took out his sword, still slow to move. He looked at his mother. "Is there a way to save her?"
His mother raised one beautiful, elegant eyebrow. "How interesting," She looked at the witch.
"Dont. He will know it is of no use," Kaurga stated. "Besides, this poison has already entered my blood, and you dont have time,"
"So you will die to save them?" The demoness asked,
Kaugra smiled again. "You can't really kill the wind,"
Still, he hesitated.
"If you dont kill me now, he will kill her, if he hasn't already!"
"Kill who?" His mother asked,
But Sesshomaru didn't answer. No, did he wait any longer? "Dragon strike!"
The waves blasted her. She accepted it with open arms and closed eyes. She would be free after all.
His mother took out a dagger and rushed, giving the heart no time to vanish and stab it.
On the battlefield, Toga moved to get to Kagome, but then Naraku froze. His eyes went wide.
"How," He whispered, his eyes moving to Kagome. "He killed her,"
He dropped Kagome, who fell to the ground with a thud and a cry.
Naraku looked at the jewel and smirked.
"No," Kagome whispered, holding onto her side. He could not make a wish!
But he wouldn't have time. Forgetting Toga Naraku's arm was taken clean off, and the jewel fell down into Kagome's hand; she took a deep breath and shoved it back into her bloody side.
She screamed in pain.
Meanwhile, a wind rushed throughout the gave, taking with it all the demons hiding within it.
Sesshomaru's mother cleaned her blade and stuck it back in its hidden place, and then looked at Sesshomaru. "Kill who?"
Sesshomaru put his sword back. "The Miko known as Kagome,"
His mother raised her eyebrow again. She then sniffed, making him look at her,
"Peaches?" She asked,
He looked away and then began to walk away.
"I will come with you," He said,
"As you wish, Mother,"
Not like he could stop her.
They arrived back in time to see Toga kneel down and pick up Kagome's head.
Sesshomaru could smell her blood, and he wondered, were they too late?
He took out his other sword; his mother looked down. "Why draw this sword, my son?"
Inuyasha bolted in their direction. "You asshole!"
But Sesshomaru's mother put up her hand, blasting the younger son back, "Sit down half-breed and be silent!" She snapped,
Toga looked up, and Sesshomaru came closer,
Kagome opened her eyes, shaking, pale. "Sesshomaru,"
"Hn,"
She noticed the sword in his hand. "Am I dying?"
His mother came closer, looking at her, then at her son, then back down to her.
Odd, she smelt peaches on her as well.
"Kagome, maybe if you wish, the jewel will restore you?" Miroku wobbled over,
"No," Sesshomaru's mother stated. "It will only send her back to die at the bottom of her well,"
Sesshomaru's grip went tighter on his sword,
"You can no save her here, my son," She stated,
"So we just let her die!" Inuyasha yelled,
"Am I not standing here, Inuyasha?" Sesshomaru snapped,
But then the thing was, Kagome didn't want to die. He could only save her once.
"Sesshomaru,"
His father laid her down, and Sesshomaru knelt close, putting his hand on her side,
"Sorry," She said, why he didnt know.
"Peaches," His mother whispered, then looked at Toga, who shrugged, but she knew better than that.
So her son liked kissing Miko's now? Was this why Toga sent for her?
She sighed, and Sesshomaru glared at her. Now was not the time.
"If you do not wish to kiss and tell fine, I can see," She stated and then looked at Kagome. "Girl, if you wish to live, you need only to offer yourself to the jewel, but beware it will lock you here and sustain your life; you will be immortal,"
Kagome looked at her, then at him. Was that ok? Could she do that?
Sesshomaru searched her face as she gasped for air, looking into his eyes if asking for permission to stay.
"Can I stand together with you?"
Sessomaru laid down his sword and, without a thought, lowered his face to hers and kissed her.
Tears fell down her face at his silent claim.
His mouth searched her. Kagome offered herself not only to him but to the jewel.
Their mouths stayed sealed as the jewel went bright with power and not only sealed her wound, but sealed their fate.
