"Hey Cole" she said happily over the call, "what did you have in mind for this errand?"

Cole groaned and said, "how's about we go to a burger place and I treat you tonight"

"Oh brothers yes, I love burgers and ice cream shakes" she replied, hiding her embarrassment.

"Look, I apologize for what Ruby and jaune pulled, but I promise I had no idea" he said walking towards the garage grabbing an old motorcycle and said "meet me at the roadside for pick-up"

"I'll be there in ten minutes" she sighed in relief and hung up. Calmly putting the scroll away she sped off towards the dorms on her glyphs and flew into her room, landing on the wall throwing winds all around the room glaring at her leader "hey ruby?" she asked.

"Hey Weiss-" she froze at her glare and backed away to escape from the window, but they slammed closed and stayed closed, as well as the doors to the bathroom and hallways "i-I can explain"

"I don't care about that, I just want to know what your endgame is" her icy dark eyes promised pain if she didn't have a good enough answer. "Well?!" she snapped.

"youandcolelookedadorablelastnightsoithoughtyoubothcoulduseadateto-"

A slap to her face shut her up and heard "short answer, Ruby branwen"

Ruby rubbed her cheek and said, "ah man that hurts, alright fine" she sat on the desk looking away from her teammate, "you, and he were at odds with each other, so I thought you both were flirting"

Weiss let go of her glyphs and groaned "ahhhh, Ruby noooo" ruby looked up and at her eyes like she'd heard right "we are just study partners and get competitive with how much we have in class; no such romance between us nor would there ever be"

Ruby watched her sigh and left through the window and went off to meet Cole for their "date" hoping it wasn't made odd because of the dress she wore.

Cole was singing a song on his scroll, unaware Weiss had shown up behind him on his bike, just vibin.

After the song finished she sat down behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist "I'm not getting fed so please just gun it"

He chuckled and started up the cycle speeding down the road with a mighty roar of the engine that vibrated into her body exciting her making her yell out in surprise holding him tighter laughing out loud at his behavior.

Eventually Cole slowed to a regular speed for the road and highway, Weiss watched the world zip by and watched cars do the same smile grew as a child waved at her beaming yelling about an angel. She gave a wave as Cole sped up, catching her off guard.

Slowing down, Cole eventually stopped at a light smirking at her reluctant arms from loosening on his stomach, so he tapped her wrist and asked "takeout or dine in for the burgers?" over the rumble of the bike

"Dine in!" she replied in his ear giggling at the more intense rumblings tickling her all over.

Cole drove into the nearest parking lot and backed the cycle in the small space away from the cars section and helped Weiss off when she looked a bit shaky.

"Hey girl, how bout you come over and see what a real man can do for ya" someone said from the side of a truck the size of an Ursa.

Cole pulled her away before she got a word out, not wanting a lawsuit because he opened his mouth like an idiot.

"Ah come on baby, I'll give you the best ride of your life" he said appearing in front of Cole pushing him aside.

Weiss was unprepared for this guy and fell against his shoulder cause her legs not recovering yet.

The douche bag held her close and steady smirking at her, trying to lead her back to the truck, noticing this, Cole acted on instinct.

Cole lunged at him so quick he hadn't realized he had gone limp, eyes locked firmly on a pole close into his face at the left of Weiss and just before everything went dark. Cole said, "respect the lady asshole, she's not a TOY"

Cole emphasized that last word with a knee to his diaphragm and gently but quickly led Weiss into the diner and helped her in the booth closest to the bar, so the whole diner was seen from all angles of his seat.

"Cole?" Weiss inquired, watching his eyes linger on her scratches running along her hands and forearms.

"He deserved it Weiss" he said grabbing the menu already knowing the tone of his voice was the wrong one but still felt the need to hide his face from her to justify his actions. "I don't apologize for doing what, I feel, is right"

Softly sighing, she asked "why do you seclude yourself from every friend in beacon?"

Lowering the menu he replied giving her a gentle glare "you guys never exactly gave me the time of day or even approached me to ask to join you guys, the only reason you and I are here is because your team and friends forced this on us"

His quick, harsh and If not blatant retort hurt a bit but the normalcy of how calm and nonchalant he was put her a bit on edge, instead she chose to ignore it since he was technically right.

Sitting there for a moment she thought it over and looked at him and for once, seeing him and not just seeing him which it made her feel better "heh how about a mutual compromise?" she asked.

"What kind of compromise?" he returned her question while waving the waitress over.

"I go to my team and friends and talk about inviting you to stuff when it comes up and in return, we help you out with your stuff"

Before Cole could come up with an answer the waiter stood near their table she wore a false smile and a maid outfit "how may I serve you master" she ignored Weiss opting for Cole to do the talking.

"Honey. Please drop the act, you don't need to be like this around me, remember?"

The waitress froze at his behavior and squealed hugging his head "oh my gods, you little eel" she said happily laughing. After a bit, she let him go and kissed his head, not calming down at all. "It's so good to see you, owe my gods"

"Good to see you too" he replied rolling his neck and pulled his mask off "but catching up has to wait while we eat; have chief get us the usual" he took out his wallet but stopped when Weiss put her card down.

"Let this be my way of apologizing" she looked up at the scantily clad rabbit Faunas smiling.

"Yes, another schnee solving her every problem with daddy's money" she replied glaring the instant that card touched the table "what else would you require your highness?"

Cole looked at her with a raised eyebrow and crossed his arms "yknow I never thought the faunas would stoop to judgment before knowing the content of their character; how the mighty have fallen haven't they" standing up he grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the booth as gently as possible "I'm sorry Weiss I thought the-"

"Cole no, I'm sorry" she said pushing against his chest "dinner comes outta my pay if you stay, please?" she gave him the puppy dog eyes and wiped a fake tear from her face.

"Fine, but you need to know that Weiss isn't her family so treat her like any other person" he replied sitting back down glaring at her "after you get our food and drinks I want to know why you acted that way"

She nodded and rushed for their drinks and complimentary fries and dips.

Weiss thanked her after getting those things, opting to eat quietly, no guy ever gotten that worked up over something that small before…so why did he?

"Sorry bout that, I had no idea she'd be like that towards anybody other than perverted drunks" he said, taking a deep breath.

"I-it's nothing Cole, I'm used to that kind of stuff" she replied, sighing at the fact that it probably won't stop happening.

Looking him over, Weiss lost herself in thought about him and how much she knew about him from when he first showed up and up to now. She realized two people he out right refused to respect, no matter how good they treated him, ever since Cole got to beacon he was never aggressive enough around her to have picked up anything until she thought it over.

Reaching over, she tapped his menu and said, "hey, can I ask you something?"

Looking at her with his mismatched eyes, he said, "you just did" With a bit of a devious smirk and teasing tone made her childlike demeanor come out and she responded to his teasing with a serious rebuttal.

"Please take this seriously" she whined just before the man from earlier burst through the door with six guys behind him screaming "I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE ASSHOLE" his face was swollen and purple with his eye blocked out.

"Cole we should go" Weiss said standing up, but one guy fired his gun at her, scoring a hit on Cole in the chest knocking the wind out of him. He himself didn't know why he did it, but it happened anyway.

"NO ONE MOVE OR I SHOOT AGAIN" he yelled waving his pistol around.

Everyone went to the ground and cowered under the tables whimpering and screaming, Cole coughed a bit from the bruise that obviously started forming under his shirt.

The shooter rushed over to Weiss and Cole pointing his gun at them, "get up and come with me boy!"

Cole and Weiss get up and followed the man halfway through the diner when Cole looked at Weiss and said, "I'm sorry"

Blasting her with a small a Shockwave he threw her behind the register counter and as quick as lightning implied he grabbed and used the shooter as a shield blocking the gunfire, after a moment he felt his power climbing, in that very second he realized how dumb the others were.

When they were finally out of ammo, he dropped the man's body, smiled at them and stomped on his shoulder as he was stepping over him.

Stalk towards them very slow and gave them an almost predatory glare, a few of them shiver in dread and starting to regret this moment of their lives.

"im going to feed you your teeth" he replied matter-of-factly, cracking his knuckles.

The act of doing so made three of the six men left step back a bit before the man Cole knocked out earlier burst forth and lunged at him reaching for his dagger hoping to drive it straight into his heart, but Cole was faster than him and swung up forcing the guy's knife up throwing his arms in the air and away from his chest, jabbed him in the face breaking his nose, uppercut him in his stomach driving it in and stepped back winding his boot back and threw it towards home kicking him so hard with the top of his boot he sent the guy two feet higher than himself and grabbed him by his face throwing him back into the table breaking it in half spilling food, drinks, and silverware on him and the floor.

As calm as the dead, he turned to honey and said, "hey honey, I'll take the meal to go" he said, heavily breathing as he walked over to the register and help Weiss to her feet. Cole forced himself to walk slower as he led her out the door, ignoring everything around him.

Feeling bad for the overall damage to the diner he let Weiss go and dropped a couple of hundred lien on the counter before he took the bags of food, "sorry bout the damages" he said walking out with Weiss in tow.

Weiss was scared for the first time in her life, and Cole was her 'savior' as well as her date. She stayed silent the rest of the time on the drive back to beacon, Cole returned the bike and escorted Weiss back to her team.

Apologizing to her for ruining her day so in his way of saying sorry he decided to give her the bigger portion of food and for protecting her she hugged him, kissed his cheek and smiled at him before leaving to go back to her room, with high hopes to eat alone, or at least that was her plan if not for the rest of her team staring at her with wide eyes full of worry, rage, and surprise.

To their defense, Weiss had torn clothes covered in drinks and bits of food, hair was all over the place and carrying enough food to feed her twice over.

Weiss wasn't expecting this reaction, but what would come next would get more complicated than Cole's unexplainable past never came to light since they were interrupted.

I'm thinking of making this a witcher 3 crossover using Ciri in my story giving cole a potential love interest so that he'll have a reason to be softer hearted.
