Intermission: Chaos (1)

The silence was sickening and humiliating as the sealed monster within the depths of the North Pole tried to think of a solution to her main problem.
In a move that almost felt ironically deserved, her main minion had gotten herself killed while following her demands for an immediate grand feast of energy. The lifeforce had been sufficient up to this point, but Metalia had inherited the one flaw she knew her fellow incarnations were cursed with: impatience.
It was within impatience that their existence came to be. It was through impatience that a single desire led to the creation of Chaos' long-lasting dream that drove all its shapes and forms to keep on existing and fighting to achieve absolute victory over the old order:
I want to be born!
That was the shallow scream that echoed within the Star Cauldron when the Grand Galactic War unfolded. When the stars of Order faced the rising power of Chaos itself as it desperately rushed to achieve its true birth through the Cauldron, a conflict of unknown magnitude but well beyond the known toll of many lesser wars between Good and Evil.
Spearheaded by Sailor Galaxia, the core group of Planet-leading entities not only matched their powers but also pushed them back over and over again. Ultimately, the unitary power known as Chaos 'died' and its spawns survived through its decimation.
Metalia was one of those survivors and one of those that had it lucky as she managed to avoid being either sealed away in another dimension or being sent in a future where a chance to be reborn was nigh-impossible.
She wounded up in a weakened spot, one that would always haunt her as both her greatest flaw and even greater luck. Avoiding detection, Metalia trailed after the one entity that really angered her the most and the one that she sought to conquer the power from: Queen Serenity.
At the time when they last fought, the MOON was the one entity that made Chaos shudder beside GALAXY. MOON was unusual due to its pure anti-chaos power- it wasn't as mighty as what Sailor Galaxia could muster, but it was meant to be used to purge something akin to her.
So, Metalia waited and watched. She almost lost her temper when the little princess was given a chance to be born, even more when it became clear that MOON did this out of regret and compassion. Weakness, that's how Metalia saw it. And a weakness that produced the best opportunity to claim power.
Beryl, by all means, should have been the one to marry that foolish Earth Prince, but MOON thought fitting to open up relations to the large planet after that foolish Nehelenia allowed her true nature to make the Queen vigilant with her attempts.
Still, Metalia remained unnoticed from MOON's gaze and soon used Beryl to create the best situation to strike down MOON. With Earth rebelling and leading to the collapse of the First Civilizations, the Moon Kingdom fell after their weakened Queen faced a ferocious Metalia.
Things should have gone her way, but Metalia had made a big mistake in ignoring the 'Guards' that were created to help MOON's rule. In particular, she underestimated the destructive might of SATURN. The Glaive of Death shattered everything, resetting the domains and producing a circumstance of unpredictable reincarnations.
Metalia endured, and so did Beryl and her foolish Generals. They waited patiently for the chance to come back- for them to start reclaiming their overdue reward. But then... the waiting made them sloppy. Metalia knew she wasn't spared by this flaw as they should have hit Sailor Venus harder when she was first notified- but the lack of reason to attack someone that didn't have the Silver Crystal felt like a good enough motivation to hold back and not show their hand too suddenly.
It did help for a time when Sailor Moon finally appeared, same for the other Scouts, but their constant swinging between cautious and aggressive plans had ultimately led Metalia to lose not only her most trusted servant, but also find the Generals reluctant to absolutely obey her.
All because Beryl couldn't refrain from exposing herself and not react when that mysterious knight bearing a similar energy pattern to the MOON. He had been a surprise, just not one that Metalia could have predicted to be so unbearable and so dangerous in the long-run. This underestimation led her to lose big time in what she could do now to regain full power.
While Beryl was her most powerful piece in the chessboard, the Generals had been crucial in avoiding the full recovery of that foolish reincarnation of the Earth Prince. The mere thought that he would return to full strength was jarring, but perhaps she could exploit that situation to some extent.
After all, while she had struggled to find out what happened to the Princess' foolish reincarnation and the Queen's second coming, she had been monitoring the young man known as Chiba Mamoru for a while. And one thing that she noticed, during his childhood, was that he made a rather peculiar friend that was in a curious position.
It was almost poetic how she would try to bring an end to these 'victorious heroes' by using her influence to manipulate another suitor to the Earth Prince, this one already succumbing to a silly flower and employing some interesting minions she could take over for herself.
They were already en route to Earth, they already had enough malicious intent to seed their minds with Chaos, and, ultimately, they will be their best gamble yet due to this 'Makai Tree' they were so keen to plant on Earth itself.
The power that tree could give her... yes, it was indeed the best option Metalia had left to avoid complete defeat. But the game at hand would require more patience than she was usually willing to show. Death could be around the corner, and she couldn't let this Chaos-born flaw to led her to her unsavory demise.
One step at the time, she knew it will happen - Chaos will be born!
AN
Goddammit Turles!
Wait no, that's not the right series. Still, it's quite surprising reading the SM wiki and finding out about 'half-a-season' that I had not seen when I was a kid. The 'Makai Tree' Arc is the first section of the second season that is Anime-only and... it has also a movie which I am combining for plot-sake. And, much to my surprise, this also means that the anime made Mamoru Bi just like Usagi!
