Season 6

On the USS Nemo, Mon, Imra, and Ol had a meeting to discuss their next move in the situation room filled with computer monitors and technological gizmos. "According to Nura, we're going to make contact with a corrupt as fuck mining foreman on this planet who will then give us the location of a Harvester who, in turn, will give us the coordinates to the Harvester home planet," Mon said.

"Just give away the plot," Ol rolled his eyes.

"You have a problem with that?" Mon asked aggressively.

"It's just not the Insane way to rely on Dreamers for intelligence gathering," Ol stood his ground.

"I'll use any tool at my disposal to figure out this puzzle. None of the techno-shit in this room has given us anything. We've been in the expanse for six days and we have come up with nothing," Mon said frustrated. "And if the only lead we have comes from a Dreamer of questionable ancestry then that's good enough for me."

"Understood," Ol replied.

In the mess hall, the Vindicators ate breakfast together and chatted with Laurel who was giving them all sorts of classified information on what they knew so far. These Vindicators were classified as "Marines" for the time being under the Insane Navy officers. They included in this ranking order: Shrinking Violet (Espionage), Sensor Girl (Counter-intelligence), Dream Girl (Intelligence), Wildfire (Science), Timberwolf (Security), Phantom Girl (Assassination), Sunboy (Tactical), Starboy (Communications), Colossal Boy (Weaponry), Karate Kid (Instructor), and Chemical Kid (Explosives).

Mon-El: (Technically O-16 but serving as an O-6 as captain of the USS Nemo)

Imra #1: (O-5, #1 Vindicator, executive officer, commander)

Eltro: (O-4, chief engineer, lieutenant commander)

Brainiac 5 #2: (Technically O-15 but serving as an O-4, chief medical officer, lieutenant commander)

Shrinking Violet #3, Sensor Girl #4, Dream Girl #5, Wildfire #6: (O-4, majors)

Ol, Dax, Laurel: (O-3, lieutenant)

Timberwolf #7, Phantom Girl #8: (O-3, captain)

Sunboy #9: (O-2, 1st lieutenant)

Starboy #10, Colossal Boy #11, Karate Kid #12, Chemical Kid #13: (O-1, 2nd lieutenant)

Mon and Eltro walked together down the corridors toward the cargo bay. "When did this fuckery start?" Mon asked slightly concerned.

"Ten minutes ago," Eltro reported.

The two entered the cargo bay and found a few dozen cargo containers magnetized against the side of the wall. The cargo containers then moved on their own to the other side of the wall with rapid speed. "Well...that's queer," Mon remarked. "Anything explosive?"

"If there was, we would be fucked by now," Eltro said dryly.

"Keep anyone out unless you hate them," Mon ordered.

"I have an ensign in mind," Eltro said casually as they walked away from it.

In sickbay, Imra went to see Brainiac 5. "Come look at these cells harvested from the Harvester's corpse," he invited.

"It looks mammalian with some insect characteristics," Imra noted.

"Precisely. With this information, I could begin work on a biological weapon," Brainiac 5 said coldly.

"You wanted to see me?" Imra asked, avoiding the conversation on mass genocide.

"Commander Eltro's vacation was ruined in the attack. He's having difficulty dealing with the loss," Brainiac 5 began.

"He needs to get over himself," Imra said unsympathetically.

"It's affecting his sleep. Normally, I would give him sedatives but that rarely works on the Insane. I'd like to see you give him a Titan massage," Brainiac 5 said.

"I don't think I heard you correctly," Imra said shocked and appalled.

"I'm sure with your delicate...," Brainiac 5 argued

"Delicate is not what comes to mind when I think of the Insane," Imra shot down.

"He's suffered a significant loss. He needs your help," Brainiac 5 said, looking at her directly.

"Fine, have him come to my quarters," Imra sighed.

"Actually, it would be consistent with Insane tradition if you went to his," Brainiac 5 advised.

"I'm not sleeping with him," Imra insisted.

Mon teleported himself and Imra to the mining planet. It was perpetually night, misty, and full of industrial fumes. "Is this atmosphere safe for you?" Mon asked her.

"I'll manage," Imra said as she formed a telekinetic bubble around her face.

The two went deeper into the mind until they were greeted by two guards. "I'm Mon-El, Prince of all Insane," Mon introduced himself.

"This way," the guards allowed.

Mon and Imra ignored the miners and found the mining forearm's so-called office. He looked quite fucked-up with a diseased body and a ventilation system attached to his chest. "Prince Mon-El. I've been told you would make it worth my while if I arranged a certain introduction," the mining foreman said cryptically.

Mon glanced at Imra. She raised her hand and froze the mining foreman in place and then read his mind. "The Harvester is here. The proof is in that locker," she said and then telekinetically opened the locker.

Mon examined a missing finger giving DNA proof the Harvester was present. "His location is on his computer," Imra said to Mon as she held the mining foreman in place.

"Drop everyone around us and then access the computer," Mon ordered.

Imra forced the mining foreman and the guards to fall asleep around them. She then accessed the computer and looked for the Harvester. "I have him,"

Mon and Imra went through the mine tunnels dropping miners and guards to the ground like flies as they did. They eventually found the Harvester outside his bio-suit. He looked positively pathetic with weak long legs and small arms. "Find out the coordinates to his planet," Mon ordered Imra.

Imra raised her hand and closed her eyes. "He's able to resist me. He's also telepathic."

Mon took hold of the Harvester and beat the shit out of him for a few moments to break his resistance. "Captain, we have three incoming warships matching the same mining alloy as the surface," Eltro warned.

"How long until they get here?" Mon asked.

"Two hours," Dax reported.

Mon took hold of the Harvester by the neck only to get a very annoying ringing sound in his mind that knocked him out. Imra eyed the fallen Mon with shock and apprehension as some of the miners converged on them.

On the Nemo, Eltro was monitoring the situation. "Communications on the surface are being jammed," Laurel reported.

"Is it possible the captain could have been defeated?" Eltro wondered. "Or is he toying with his prey?"

"Either way, three warships are less than an hour away now," Dax warned.

"Ol, you're leading Dax and Laurel to the surface to find the captain," Eltro ordered.

"Fuck yeah," Ol smiled.

Ol, Dax, and Laurel were about to leave via shuttle when Salu (Shrinking Violet) objected to the plan. "What's the hold-up?" Eltro asked impatiently.

"Major Salu thinks we're too valuable to be put in the line of fire because we're bridge officers and the only ones who know how to run the ship. She wants to use her own men," Ol said resentfully.

"It's a matter of priorities. If we're too late to get back to the ship, those warships may attempt to board the Nemo. It's better if her bridge crew who knows everything about this ship is present if that happens," Shalu said reasonably.

"You underestimate our Insane power. We will find the captain, kill everyone, and get back onboard way before those ships arrive," Ol argued.

"We can't be certain of that," Salu said flatly.

"Well...shit, she has a point," Eltro allowed.

"Fuck me," Ol sighed. "Have your men ready to launch in five. I'll be commanding the mission from here."

"Very good, Sir," Salu smirked and walked off.

"This is such bullshit," Ol frowned.

"Let's see how they do. If they all die, the rest of the kills on this mission will belong to us," Eltro assured him.

On the surface, Imra was not having fun. She was forced to carry Mon over her shoulder while telekinetically dragging the Harvester by the leg. She waded through liquid shit, through the ventilation shafts, avoided occasional plasma streams, and then got caught by the guards. They were brought to the mining foreman who had since recovered. "I was willing to make a deal with you for this...thing. Now, you've really pissed me off. Take them to the surface and shoot them all," he ordered his men.

There was a sudden flash of light blinding all the guards. Salu suddenly rose from the ground to her normal size and punched the mining foreman to the ground damaging his ventilation system. Nura and Drake (Wildfire) sent beams of light all around, taking out the guards in quick succession. Brin (Timberwolf) took hold of one guard before he could take a shot and threw him to the ground. He proceeded to kick the guard in the mouth for good measure. Thom (Starboy) also fired off beams of light that instantly increased the gravitational weight of the victim, crushing them on the spot.

A guard attempted to sneak up on Nura. She anticipated his move in a vision and got out of the way of his shot. She blasted the weapon out of his hands, wrapped him up in energy coils, and then imploded his body. She then fired an energy cable through another guard's head before he could fire off a shot against Imra. "Nice shot," Imra said gratefully.

"What's his deal?" Salu asked of Mon, still disoriented and unable to fight.

"Telepathic attack from the Harvester," Imra told her.

"Activate psych inhibitors," Shalu ordered her team before the Harvester could make a move. "Brin, take it to the shuttle."

The Vindicators went up to the surface with Brin carrying the Harvester on his back. As they got to the shuttle, a laser beam hit the Harvester nearly killing it. Dirk fired an intense light beam at the sniper taking him out.

The shuttle then took off back to the Nemo.

Imra rushed to the bridge with Mon taken to Sick Bay. "Are the three warships here, yet?" she asked.

"Any moment," Dax said.

"No hails," Laurel reported.

"Get us out of here, maximum warp," Imra ordered.

"Hold on a sec, the Insane way is to not run away from a fight," Eltro protested.

Imra eyed her Insane bridge. "If we are destroyed by these insignificant miners, we will all be denied the opportunity to destroy the Harvesters," she reasoned. "Now, go to warp."

The Insane relented and the Nemo went to warp just in time.

In his quarters, Mon was disgruntled but recovered. Brainiac 5 then entered. "The Harvester is dead," he reported. "Still, Imra was able to extract the coordinates from it before it died."

"I'll be damned," Mon said subdued.

"Are you embarrassed by this defeat?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"I know my limitations," Mon said dismissively. "Intelligence gathering has its risks. I saw its thoughts. I saw what they were planning to do. They're like locusts, moving from planet to planet, consuming all natural resources and then they move as a civilization to the next one. They've turned the Delphic Expanse into a graveyard of civilizations and now Earth is next."

"What do you plan to do about it?" Brainiac 5 asked.

"Nuk'em," Mon replied.

Imra went to Eltro's quarters on Brainiac 5's suggestion. "So...how can I help you?" Eltro asked as he opened the door.

"I heard you're having trouble sleeping. So am I," Imra said as she entered the room.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Eltro asked confused.

"No, I'm done talking. We're going to take off our clothes and give each other massages right now," Imra said authoritatively.

"I'm not so sure sexualizing your character like this is appropriate," Eltro said nervously.

Imra telekinetically shed her clothes off her. "It's too late now."

"You know, under different circumstances where I'm the one initiating, I would totally jump at the chance, but...," Eltro said flustered.

"This isn't sexual. We're just two colleagues massaging each other while naked to help us sleep better," Imra corrected.

"Well, in that case," Eltro allowed and took off his shirt.

As Eltro got on his bed naked, Imra went up against his back. With her breasts rubbing against his shoulders, she massaged his muscular shoulders and telekinetically worked his back. "I'm having the most awkward boner right now," Eltro admitted.

"I'm not going to touch it but I can do this," Imra said as she telekinetically jerked him off.

"Oh, shit," Eltro said amazed.

Imra closed her eyes as she felt Eltro's intense sexual thoughts enter her mind.

Meanwhile, a weird-ass anomaly went through the ship causing all sorts of mayhem. Random personnel got tripped up, plates filled with food hit the ceiling, and Mon's cup of Joe was suspended in the air. The engine room suffered a number of malfunctions taking it out of warp. "Fawk," Mon sighed as he stared at his cup of coffee spilling in mid-air.

Mon entered the bridge and found Ol, Dax, and Laurel at their stations. "The fuck is going on?"

"We've lost power," Dax reported.

"No shit. Eltro, what's going on?" Mon asked and got no response.

"Eltro and Imra are engaged in mutual massage exercises," Laurel said helpfully.

Mon frowned annoyed at this. "Patch me into the ship's intercom system."

"Ready," Laurel said.

"Imra, Eltro, stop fucking around and get back to your stations right now," Mon said for the entire crew to hear in every room.

Eltro raced to get his clothes back on and then made his way to engineering. "Holy shit, I have no idea what the fuck is going on, captain!" he said as looked over the data.

"Keep me posted," Mon radioed calmly.

"Sir, I'm detecting a vessel. It's adrift," Dax reported.

A disheveled and irritated Imra arrived on the bridge and went to her station. "No life signs, no atmosphere, no artificial gravity."

"Ol, prepare the Vindicators to board the vessel to strip it for parts and intelligence gathering," Mon ordered.

A shuttle took the Vindicators to the fallen alien vessel. Using magnetic boots, the Vindicators made their way down the corridors. "Weapon's fire," Drake detected. Brin forced a door open revealing a dead alien. "No external injuries."

"Find the bridge," Salu ordered.

Mon waited patiently for the Vindicators to report. "Seventeen dead. Cause of death is suffocation due to life support going down and particle beam weapons," Salu reported.

"Strip the ship," Mon ordered.

"I advise we do not leave until we have made repairs. Moving on impulse will potentially alert attackers," Imra advised.

"I agree but for different reasons," Mon smirked. "Laurel, broadcast a distress call on the highest frequency. We're going to lure whoever attacked these poor sons-of-bitches to us."

Mon waited for the Vindicators to get back on the ship and for Eltro to finish his engine repairs. As expected, the attacking alien ship arrived on the scene. Mon quickly assembled with the other Vindicators and teleported them all onto the alien ship. Immediately, the Vindicators ambushed the alien crew and began stripping the ship of necessary equipment. Mon and the Vindicators made short work of the crew with beams of light and flash grenades. One of the aliens was captured alive for questioning. Brainiac 5 immediately went to download their databank.

"Gather everything you've stripped into one spot," Mon ordered once the situation was secure.

Once all the shit was gathered in one place, Mon reached out with both of his hands. With everyone holding to each other and touching the supplies, everything was teleported back to the Nemo.

On the Nemo, Mon turned to Salu in the cargo bay. "Take this asshole to the brig," he ordered referring to their alien POW. "What did we get?" he asked Brainiac 5.

"Three torpedoes, a case of plasma rifles, two dozen stun grenades, food supplies, and anti-matter storage pods," Brainiac 5 analyzed.

"Outstanding," Mon said pleased. "Ol, target ship and destroy it," he radioed the bridge.

In his quarters, Mon had a chat with Imra. The cup of Joe was still suspended in mid-air. Imra gave the cup a WTF look but quickly recovered. "Who are these guys?" he asked.

"Ossarions, known for having a large merchant fleet. They're not known for piracy. They must have resorted to it to survive in the expanse," Imra said.

"Time to have a chat with our guest," Mon smiled. "Come with me."

Mon and Imra entered the brig. The Ossarion was in an armored suit and half of his face looked fucked up presumably from the spatial anomaly hitting him. "You are one ugly mother-fucker," Mon remarked.

"My name is Orgoth. That little trick was bold but it just made you a big target for the rest of us," Orgoth said boldly.

"You're going to tell me where the rest of your friends are so I can kill them and take their shit," Mon said bluntly.

"Why the fuck would I do that?" Orgoth wondered.

"Cuz, I'm going to make your life a lot less pleasant if you don't," Mon threatened.

"That's not very clever. My captain is a clever man. You have to be in order to survive out here. Is your ship insulated with Tridium-D? I think not. You're dumb as fuck," Orgoth said condescendingly. "We were two merchant ships looking for new trade routes. As soon as we entered the expanse, we were hit with the anomalies. We tried to escape but the barrier only lets you in. It doesn't let you out. One of our ships was destroyed trying."

"So, you were forced into piracy? That's weak sauce," Mon insulted.

"We're predators now. We hunt and shit," Orgoth said, impressed with himself. "Now, we kill and steal without remorse."

"I'm about to give you remorse right now," Mon said dangerously.

"They attacked a Harvester scout ship only two weeks ago," Imra said as he read Orgoth's mind. "They managed to strip it and bring the parts to their base."

"Their base?" Mon questioned.

"They have a space station, spherical in shape, not too far from here," Imra said. "They downloaded the Harvester database and he has the code to it," she said as she recorded it on her smartphone.

Mon waited for her to record the entire code and then dragged Orgoth out of the brig and down the hall. "Now that I've served my purpose, you're just going to get rid of me?" he asked incredulously.

"Something like that," Mon said and then tossed Orgoth into the airlock. He then opened the airlock doors sending Orgoth out into space.

Mon went to the bridge and checked in with Dax. "Using the sensor logs of the dead alien ship, I'm able to now detect the ion trail of the Ossarion ship," Dax reported.

"We're looking for something big and spherical," Mon told him.

"And the trail is dead," Dax frowned. "Wait, the trail resumes here," he said pointing to his screen.

"Might be something cloaked," Mon considered. "Proceed forward."

The Nemo began to shake as it went through an invisible barrier. As it passed through, the sphere became visible. "Nineteen kilometers in diameter made of a single alloy," Dax reported.

"No weapons," Ol reported.

"Take us into orbit and look for a front door," Mon ordered.

"I think I found it," Ol said as they reached the south pole of the object. "Not big enough for the Nemo but a shuttle will fit through."

"Vindicators, prepare to launch," Mon radioed them.

In the shuttle bay, Mon and Imra got into an argument. "Are you going to kill every prisoner after I interrogate them?" Imra asked.

"Not going to lie, high probability," Mon replied.

"You could at least have the courtesy to let me disconnect from their minds before you kill them. It's unpleasant," Imra complained.

"I don't have time to deal with your drama," Mon said dismissively. "You're coming on this away mission in case we need further interrogations."

The shuttle exited the Nemo and went toward the sphere. "You know, if this space station only had a dent in its northern hemisphere, it would remind me of something," Mon mused.

"I'm reading no life signs inside," Imra sensed.

"Shit," Mon said disappointed.

"There's enough energy here to power a dozen cities," Dax said as he piloted the shuttle.

"There's a breathable atmosphere in that docking center," Imra pointed out.

"Bring us in," Mon ordered.

Upon the shuttle landing, Mon blasted the door open and allowed the Vindicators to flood through. "Fan out. Find me a computer," Mon ordered.

Drake approached what looked like a computer and accessed it. "I believe it's a cargo manifest," he said to Mon.

"Download what you can," Mon ordered. "Carry as much shit as you can back to the shuttle."

On the Nemo, Mon got a briefing from Laurel. "According to the cargo manifest, they did manage to attack a Harvester scout ship and strip it for parts. They also downloaded the Harvester database but it's on their ship, not here. We would also need the codes."

"I have the codes," Mon said vaguely. "Prepare for battle."

"The ion trail is going cold. It will be difficult to hunt them down," Dax pointed out.

"They'll come to us," Mon said confidently.

On the bridge, Mon waited for the Ossarions to arrive. "Something is moving through the cloak field," Dax reported.

"Activate the cloak," Mon ordered.

The Ossarion ship approached oblivious to the Nemo. "Disable but do not kill them," Mon ordered Ol.

The Nemo fired on the Ossarion ship with torpedos stunning them. "Engines are down," Ol reported.

"I have their computer," Laurel said as she got a signal.

"How long?" Mon asked impatiently.

"Few minutes," Laurel replied. "I have one hundred percent."

"Destroy them," Mon ordered Ol. The Nemo fired continuous laser canon shots until it destroyed the Ossarion ship.

Soon thereafter, the Nemo discovered a new planet utilizing the Harvester database to leapfrog around the Expanse. A disgruntled Imra walked into the situation room during a late hour. "Did I wake you? That was a rhetorical question. I know you were having fun with Eltro just now," Mon mocked.

"And yet, you felt the need to cock-block him," Imra noted.

"We both know he isn't going to score with you," Mon said dismissively.

"Is there a reason why I'm here?" Imra asked.

"According to the database, this was the last planet that Harvester scout was at before they were attacked by the Ossarions," Mon pointed out.

"Does it say what they were doing there?" Imra asked.

"No, but it's nearby," Mon said. "We're setting a course for it."

Upon arriving, the Nemo detected a Harvester scout ship. "Is the Harvester there?" Mon asked.

"Not detecting any humanoid life but it will take several hours to scan all the land masses," Imra replied.

"Yeah...fuck that," Mon decided. "Bridge crew, let's go down to the surface and check it out."

Mon, Imra, Ol, and Laurel took a shuttle to the Harvester scout ship on one of the islands. The terrain was rocky with high levels of vegetation. The Insane quickly found the scout ship broken into. "This ship crash landed two weeks ago," Imra judged.

Mon eyed the ship. It was gray but the hull appeared to be of an organic material. The ship was saucer in shape with a fin at the top. Its bow resembled that of an insect mouth. On the wings of the saucer were two laser canons. There were deep lines of the ship allowing for the flexibility of armored slabs for reentry into a planetary atmosphere. It was 26 meters long, 22 meters wide, and 10 meters tall.

"Look for any data logs," Mon ordered Imra.

"I wonder where the pilots went off to," Laurel said as she looked around.

Suddenly, Ol began to change. His navy uniform burst off revealing his Insane armor underneath which began to stretch rapidly. Ol's face pushed out into a wolf-like muzzle, his eyes went red, his ears perked up, and he started growing hair all over his body like an ape. He sprouted a tail and began to grow rapidly to 50 meters tall. His elastic Insane uniform stretched as he grew keeping him clothed during the transformation. Ol roared as he indulged his primitive Insane ancestry.

"Oh, shit," Imra realized and then noticed she was going through changes as well. She immediately lost her telepathy as she devolved to a previous state. She also found that her telekinetic abilities were also gone.

Mon and Laurel went through the same changes transforming into giant ape-like monsters. They resembled King Kong only with a wolf-like face. The three of them roared and fired energy beams from their mouths that set the forest ablaze. "Nemo, this is Imra. I need a security team ASAP to the surface. The Insane have transformed into wild beasts," Imra radioed to Dax on the bridge.

"What the fuck?" Dax wondered.

The three Insane took notice of Imra and attempted to stomp on her or slam her with their fists. Imra fired her laser pistol to no effect. A tree log fell on Imra pinning her to the ground.

In the situation room, Eltro, Dax, and Brainiac 5 discussed the situation. "I'm reading three Insane and one Titan signature. However, the Insane signatures are in their beast forms," Brainiac 5 said. "It's possible the planet has triggered their transformation."

"All Insane have their tails removed at birth. If we transform into our beast forms, we lose all control," Dax said.

"What if the tails were to grow back?" Brainiac 5 theorized.

"When an Insane transforms into their beast forms, they're ten times more powerful," Eltro said seriously.

"They're on the move," Dax noted from the map.

"I'll prep the Vindicators," Eltro said urgently.

"They may devolve just as the others have," Brainiac 5 warned.

"We'll wear helmets this time," Eltro said dismissively.

A second shuttle arrived on the surface not too far from the first one. The Vindicators exited the shuttle while wearing protective suits. Imra was quickly collected by the squad. "They've turned into giant apes and lost their minds," she told them.

"I'll take her back to the shuttle," Eltro said and then took her away.

The Insane trio then noticed the Vindicators with Ol in front. He pounded on his chest, roared, and then fired an energy blast at them. The beat ripped up the forest and tossed the Vindicators apart from each other, wrecking their suits. Each of the Vindicators began to feel themselves devolve in various ways. Salu immediately shrank down to a few inches and sprouted insect wings on her back. Nura felt her breasts recede, her face become more masculine, and a sex change. She immediately lost her powers.

"What the hell?" Nura wondered as she looked perfectly androgynous.

Brin morphed into a wolf and began wolf-out not too dissimilar to the Insane. Dirk quickly morphed into that of an Earth ape that resembled a chimpanzee. Thom went from dark-brown skin and black hair to white skin and brown hair. "Oh, hell no," he said stunned.

Gim went to giant size but then ripped off all of his clothes until he was naked and then started running around aimlessly with a creepy grin on his face. In all, half of the Vindicators lost their minds and scattered into the forest.

Projecta remained as she was and stared down Ol in a clearing in the forest. Ol fired a beam from his mouth at her creating an explosion of wood and vegetation. When the debris settled, Projecta remained unaffected. Ol then slammed his fist on her. "What a change in attitude this is," Projecta said amused and completely unharmed. Ol went for another strike that pounded the ground and sent Projecta sailing back from the impact. Ol went for another strike only to find Projecta had disappeared. She was now behind him.

A square of energy appeared around Ol's entire body encasing him in light. When the light faded, Ol was a bloody mess with cut wounds all over his body. Ol fell to the ground with a thud. Nura walked over to Projecta intrigued. "When did you ever learn that?"

"Actually, I fucked it up. I didn't even produce a third of its destructive power. Illusions that affect the sense of touch are difficult to manifest as actual wounds. The mind is convinced the pain is real and then recreates the wounds on the body," Projecta explained.

"You seem unaffected by the planet," Nura noted.

"Well, as I've said before, I fucked up the technique. I'm not nearly as strong as before," Projecta noticed.

"Show off," Nura rolled her eyes.

"That's why I'm number four and you're number five," Projecta smirked.

Gim ran around the forest with his arm flaying about completely naked with a retarded-looking grin on his face. He finally made contact with Laurel and tried to bite her. Laurel instinctively punched him away but Gim kept getting up for more. Laurel finally blasted Gim to the face, neck, and shoulders dropping him. Thom suddenly rose into the air and fired a beam at her. Laurel felt her weight double nearly taking her to her knees. She roared and fired back at him. Thom avoided her fire and fired multiple shots at her. Laurel fell to the ground in a heap unable to move.

Drake engaged Mon one-on-one risking a tear to his containment suit that would nuke the island. Upon noticing Drake, Mon powered up to Super Insane beast mode. His fur became a bright blond while a golden aura roared around him. He went about trashing an ancient city that had been abandoned for thousands of years. The city quickly collapsed from Mon's punches, kicks, and beams coming out of his mouth.

Drake flew up to Mon and punched him in the forehead and then kicked him to the back of the head. Mon fell to the ground with a thud but was nowhere near out. He rose up and fired beams at Drake from his mouth. Drake avoided Mon's fire and tried to get close. Mon charged up his index finger and blasted Drake away. Mon then leaped up and launched a skyscraper-tall energy ball down upon him.

Drake barely escaped the ball of death as it exploded creating a massive crater in the ground. Mon then backhanded Drake into the cliff wall of the crater he had just made. Drake went for another attack only to get an uppercut into the air. Mon then tried to slam Drake to the ground but missed. Mon used his teleportation technique and grabbed Drake with his hands. He proceeded to crush Drake threatening to breach his suit. Drake let loose an energy discharge that burned Mon's hands and forced him to let go.

Pissed off, Mon fired energy beams from his index finger to get at Drake creating explosions all around the island. One such beam hit the ground creating a nuclear-sized explosion. Drake fired directly on Mon with a beam of his own. Mon fired off his own creating a beam war. Neither backed off and the beam was deflected into the atmosphere. Mon gave a roar that shook the island. Drake remained unaffected as he sensed hearing differently now as pure energy. The shockwave from the roar made him tumble about in the forest greatly risking his suit.

Suddenly, Salu tore through Mon's abdomen from the inside. She fell to the ground with blood and gore all over her suit and insect wings. Drake powered up and fired on Mon while he was distracted. Mon was hit in the face and fell backward to the ground where he was knocked out. Drake looked over his damaged suit. The suit was made of several levels before it reached his pure energy body. After this fight, many of these levels were torn or breached. However, nano-machines coating the suit and inside the suit began to work feverishly to restore it to before.

Brainiac 5 treated all those affected on the planet. Immune to the virus, he was able to work out a cure while the Insane men were sedated. "The virus was programmed to redesign the DNA of its host back to a previous evolutionary form," Brainiac 5 said to Imra. "Titan physiology is mostly immune to the virus. I'll need a sample to make a cure."

"Sure," Imra allowed. "Imagine if I had run off with the Insane making it more difficult to make a cure and risking more people's lives."

"Thank you," Brainiac 5 said as he took a blood sample from her arm.

"They're not getting back on the ship until they're all cured," Imra said to him.

Eventually, everyone recovered and was back to normal. On the Nemo, Mon came to see Brainiac 5. "Brin found the corpses of the Harvesters. They had mutated to their previous form. Looked like a big bug," Mon told him. "I had specimens collected before we lit the bodies on fire."

"Much appreciated," Brainiac 5 said as he took the test tube sample. "What do you intend to do with the virus?"

"Weaponize it," Mon said obviously.
