It's My Life
Four days had passed since Harry destroyed the locket containing another piece of Voldemort's soul and now the only two horcruxes left were whatever Bellatrix had, and also Nagini. Easter had been great, a lot of fun, and most of today was Harry working on the Polyjuice potion to be able to become Peter Pettigrew, then transform into a rat to sneak into Malfoy Manor.
Harry wondered if he could nab Nagini while he was there, but it might be pointless. Harry was going to be at Malfoy Manor as a rat, might not be a good idea to aggravate the giant snake. Harry was going for one reason, to try to find the horcrux Bellatrix had. If it wasn't with her, it would be at Gringotts and so Harry needed a plan for that and he had one, but it might be more risky than what he was doing tonight.
"And that finishes it." Harry pulled the stirrer out of the cauldron.
"I really don't like this, Harry…" Severus sighed.
"I'll be okay." Harry promised his father. "I know where all the rooms are, I know the layout. I will be in and out before anyone realizes there's an intruder. Besides, I won't need to be there long. Once I get in, it's a matter of trying to sense the object at all. If it's not there, I just leave and that means it'll be at Gringotts."
"And what's your plan for that?" Sirius asked. "If it's at the bank."
"Don't have a plan for that yet." Harry shrugged as he poured the mixture into his cup. "Alright, Peter…" The man walked over and plucked some of his hair to let Harry add to the potion. It fizzled and disintegrated out into nothing as Harry swirled it around. "It's ready."
"Remember, you only have an hour." Severus reminded.
"Dad…Potions Master, just like you. I got it." Harry smiled.
"I know," Severus nodded. "I just worry…"
"Don't. You raised me well. I can do this, and do you know why…It's been a year today since you blood adopted me. I'm your son. If you could work as a double spy all those years, I can handle one hour as Peter to find this object. I got it…" Harry told him.
Severus hugged his son tightly. "I know you can, but as your father…I'm allowed to worry. It's my given right."
"Alright, guess I can't knock that. But still, trust me." Harry hugged the man back. "Love you."
"Love you too," Severus pulled back.
"I love you all," Harry told the rest standing around before going to the fireplace. "See you in about an hour." Harry downed the potion and Draco took the cup from him as the change was easy. "Malfoy Manor!" He tossed the powder down and vanished.
"Was it really wise to let him use the fireplace?" Narcissa inquired. "If they're all sitting around the main fireplace, he's caught as soon as he gets there."
"They won't be. Voldemort only ever used the dining room for meetings." Lucius told her. "I'm sure he's fine."
. . .
Harry arrived at the manor and quickly moved into a closet to strip himself and send his clothes into the burning fire so there wouldn't be a trace of them. Next, Harry focused himself into using Peter's animagus form and shrunk down to a rat. Thankfully, it was dark and Harry was able to scurry across the floors quietly while watching for Nagini. Harry didn't sense a horcrux in the house, which is what he expected, but had to check anyway. Harry hurried to Bellatrix's room and found her sleeping away, but he ignored that to get to where she kept her brush and plucked some hairs from it.
Harry then set about finding a set of her clothes and shoes, with that done, he scurried out and got back to the fireplace and checked around before finding it clear. Harry turned back into his human form, holding the items in hand, and went right to his room at Potter Manor, getting a set of clothes on and then locating two vials in his nightstand drawer. Harry pulled it out as he uncapped it and added Bellatrix's hair, then pocketed the vial. Harry took the second vial, adding his own hair, and drinking it down to reappear as himself.
"This is the only way." Harry muttered before he got back in the fireplace and went to the Leaky Cauldron.
Reaching the Leaky Cauldron, Harry moved unsuspiciously to the passageway for Diagon Alley and then entered the bank to locate Griphook.
"Mr. Potter, how lovely to see you again." Griphook greeted.
"You as well, Griphook," Harry replied. "Listen…I need a huge favor. Can we talk privately?"
Griphook nodded and led Harry to one of the back offices. "What is it you need, Mr. Potter?" Griphook asked.
"I need access to a vault that isn't mine, and I understand how very against the rules that is, but…There's a reason why." Harry stated. "The dark lord has managed to split his soul into six pieces and hid them away in objects for safekeeping. They act as an anchor to this world if his body is destroyed. So he can continue living, even if he doesn't have a body. Now…Bellatrix Lestrange has an object hidden away in her vault that holds a piece of Voldemort's soul. I need that object to destroy it. It's the only way to destroy the dark lord, make sure he has nothing to fall back on." He explained.
"Mr. Potter, I want to help…But you understand that I can't just take you back and to a vault that isn't yours. It's very obvious with how you look." Griphook said.
"I can fix that. I have here a vial of Polyjuice potion, and it'll turn me into Bellatrix. If I exit the bank, and change forms, then ask to be taken to my vault…Can you help me then? Griphook, please…I'll give you anything. Gold, priceless artifacts. But I need that object. I know it's here, I can sense it, faintly, but I'm sure that's because we're far away from it." Harry hoped.
"I heard from the great vine that you have the sword of Gryffindor…" Griphook mentioned.
"Very much true. I have it at my house and if you help me get in and out of here safely with that object…It's yours. I'll give you my word." Harry promised.
"Very well, Mr. Potter. Leave and return as Bellatrix, I'll take you to her vault." Griphook offered his hand to shake with Harry, who gladly returned the action.
"Thank you, Griphook." Harry smiled. The goblin nodded as Harry left casually, then hid around a dark corner outside the bank to take the potion and transform. Harry pulled the clothes from his bag and changed quickly. Taking a deep breath, Harry calmly walked into sight and back into the bank, approaching Griphook. "You, there, Goblin. I would like to visit my vault." Harry gave his best Bellatrix voice.
"Madam Lestrange. You know the rules…Do you have your key?" Griphook asked. Harry flashed his bank key to Griphook, who nodded and got off his desk. "This way, please." Griphook led Harry back to the carts and they were soon on their way to the vault down in the bowels of the bank. "Listen, Harry…We're coming up on a waterfall that washes away all enchantments. Once it recognizes that you are not who you appeared as, the car will stop and drop us." Griphook warned.
"I got it." Harry nodded.
"There it is." Griphook said.
"Just keep going." Harry informed. As the car crossed the water's path, Harry levitated himself on the outside of the car to avoid the water and then jumped back in once it was safe.
"That was clever…" Griphook grinned.
"Wasn't hard. Don't let the water touch you, it was an average levitation charm on myself." Harry stated.
The cart kept moving along to the vault for Bellatrix, then it stopped and the two climbed out. Griphook dragged his nail down the door to unlock it and soon, it was open. Harry looked around as he had been right, the horcrux was definitely in this vault. The whispers were loud to him, so Harry just looked around at everything, but didn't touch. Finally, high on a shelf at the back of the vault, Harry saw a small golden cup where the dark magic was concentrated. Harry focused himself to levitate upwards and reach the cup, as soon as he touched it; he knew he found what he was after. Harry grabbed it and floated back down with it in hand.
"Found what you needed?" Griphook asked.
"Yes…Thank you, Griphook." Harry told the goblin. "Alright, out we go. Whenever you're done working tonight, swing by the manor…I'll have the sword for you."
"I'm done after helping you." Griphook stated.
"Then return to the manor with me." Harry said.
"Very well." Griphook nodded.
The two left the vault quietly, but not before Harry transfigured some random cup he found into a copy of Hufflepuff's cup, then made sure it was back where he got the real one. Harry used Finite Incantatem to end the Gemino curse on the objects in the vault, it meant anything he touched would multiply. Harry stopped that quickly and then they were gone, riding the cart back to the upper level.
Harry avoided the waterfall again, and they weren't suspected by anyone. Harry left first and Griphook had said he'd appear at the manor as soon as he finished up his work. Harry got to the Leaky Cauldron, then sent himself back home through the main fireplace.
. . .
Harry totally didn't think of the implications of the fact he left as Peter Pettigrew and was returning as Bellatrix Lestrange. So he realized his mistake when the moment he walked out of the fireplace, he had every wand pointed at him.
"Sister, what are you doing here?!" Narcissa demanded.
"Where is Harry?!" Severus ordered. "If you've done anything to him…"
"Oh, my god…Guys, it's me. I'm Harry…" Harry told them.
"No. Harry left here as Wormtail!" Sirius jumped up. "Where is my godson?!"
"I changed my appearance for something else. Secondary vial of Polyjuice. I swear it's me." Harry tried. "Would my wards have let me in otherwise?"
"I don't trust it…The wards don't affect someone who has been told of the location, and for all we know…You're Bellatrix, using Harry's voice, and tortured the location out of him." Remus remarked.
"First of all, everyone knows that the information regarding a Fidelius covered home can't be extracted by force from a secret keeper. But whatever…Ask me anything that only Harry would know…" Harry sighed.
"What is your full name?" James asked.
"Harry James Potter-Snape-Prince-Black. Lord to Potter, Black, and Slytherin." Harry informed. "Heir to Snape and Prince."
"That's too easy…" Severus enlightened.
"What did Umbridge use on Harry and carve into his skin during fifth year?" Lucius questioned.
"Blood quill. I must not tell lies, from September 6th to the 22nd. Detentions every night, from 8 pm to Midnight, but Saturday and Sundays were all day from after breakfast to midnight." Harry replied.
"That is very specific…But not enough." Minerva informed.
While the others worked out what they could ask to prove that Harry was who he said he was, Draco walked closer to Bellatrix. "Everyone shut up." Draco demanded. "If you're really Harry…How did we start liking one another?"
"Silly, Dray," Harry smiled. "February 7th, 1996. We were walking down the Slytherin boy's dorm steps and you tripped, so I got in front of you to catch you and we both hit the ground, but I was under you so I kept you from getting hurt. The collision made us kiss and then you panicked like hell because I was dizzy and bleeding."
"When did we get together, and how?" Draco pushed.
"March 1st, 1996. Everyone was bored in the common room, so we played muggle games. You and I ended up in the closet for Seven Minutes in Heaven, and never came out when the time was up. Instead, the door opened and everyone, including Severus, saw us making out. Later on when we went to the common room while others were getting ready for bed, we talked and decided to start dating. Also finished the night off by having sex for the first time." Draco blushed furiously. "Also, Severus made a comment as we were leaving about Pamona and Minerva owing him five galleons."
"Yeah, definitely Harry. No one knew we had sex that night." Draco stated.
"Or that I said Minerva and Pamona owed me five galleons." Severus nodded. "Now that's taken care of…Harry, what the hell are you doing appearing as Bellatrix?"
The fireplace flared as Griphook walked through. "Griphook. There you are," Harry smiled as Bellatrix.
"Long time no see, Mr. Potter," Griphook bowed.
"I won't keep you waiting," Harry told him. "I just need it for one last thing…" He summoned the sword to him and placed a cup on the floor before slamming the sword down to stab the cup, making it scream out and disperse the black cloud into nothing. "One to go." Harry remarked before handing the sword to Griphook. "Deal is a deal. Thank you, my friend."
"Always pleasure doing business with you, Mr. Potter." Griphook took the sword and left the home. Harry went into the next room and changed clothes, then returned and seconds afterward; he returned to his normal figure.
"That feels better." Harry relaxed as himself and then gave Draco a kiss. "I love the fact you knew it was me based on the fact no one knew we were having sex the night we got together." He chuckled.
"That's how I knew if it was you or not. No one knew that but you and me and I doubt it would have been anything of interest to the dark lord, if he was in your mind." Draco smiled.
"None of them even knew I was there." Harry scoffed. "Easiest thing I've ever done in my life."
"Harry…I think you should explain why exactly it is you left here as Peter, and returned as Bellatrix, then destroyed a horcrux and gave Griphook the sword of Gryffindor?" Lily suggested.
"Alright so…The cup wasn't in the manor and I kind of knew that it wouldn't be. I told you days ago, I sensed the energy when Draco and I went on our anniversary date inside Gringotts." Harry started. "I only used being in the manor to steal a pair of Bellatrix's clothes, and hair from her brush before coming back here to get the second potion I brewed."
"I had another vial of Polyjuice that I used to turn back into myself, then I went on to Leaky Cauldron, then Gringotts and pulled Griphook aside to see if he could get me into Bella's vault. I promised him the sword of Gryffindor if he got me in and out safely; he agreed." Harry paused for a moment. "So I left the bank as Harry, returned as Bellatrix, and got into her vault and found the cup. Then I returned here."
"So you literally…Broke into Gringotts under Polyjuice potion, and stole from the Lestrange vault?" Bill blinked. "How did you get past Thief's Fall?"
"Avoided the water by levitating myself outside of the cart until past." Harry shrugged.
"S-So that's it then? All of them are destroyed, except the snake?" Hermione smiled wide.
"Yep." Harry nodded. "Now we just have to lure Voldy out of hiding so I can taunt his ass, and he'll abandon Nagini to fight me, then he can think he's won, and then I shove all these broken horcruxes at his feet before I let him feel what an Avada Kedavra feels like."
"So very Slytherin of you, son," Severus snickered.
"But let's give it until the end of the year…Just for old times' sake of there always being something big that happens at the end of the year…" Harry stated as he placed the cup in his bag with the other things.
"I still can't get over you calling him your son…" James muttered.
"Well, get over it because he is my son." Severus remarked.
"He's my son too, by birth!" James argued.
Lily sighed. "You are both my fathers, there will be no fighting over it." Harry told them.
"You're right." Severus stated.
"You're just gonna have to learn to get over the past and get along, sharing the father responsibility." Sirius told Severus and James.
"You're one to talk," Remus chuckled. "Didn't you get mad at Severus when you found out he adopted Harry? And then went and blood adopted him yourself so he could inherit everything you owned if you died."
Severus grinned as Sirius shut his mouth and Harry laughed. "He's got you there, Uncle Snuffles."
"Which one of you three told him that nickname!?" Sirius bellowed as James, Peter, and Remus burst out laughing. Sirius grumbled as the three patted his back and told him to chill out because it was just all good fun.
"So that's how come Harry carries Black at the end of his name?" Lily inquired.
"Yes. I promised Severus that if he let me adopt Harry too, I wouldn't overstep his position as Harry's father…This was before you were both back, obviously. I did it so Harry would be my son, named my heir and he could inherit everything I owned. Except what James and I agreed to leave for Remus." Sirius said.
"And Harry carries Snape-Prince from me. I told you about my line, Lily," Severus stated.
"I remember. Your father was a bastard muggle, but your mom was a pureblood and though she was disinherited for marrying a muggle…You were just a byproduct of that marriage as their child, so you could still be named Prince heir." Lily recalled.
"But I really only use Prince for legal things. Otherwise, it's just Potter-Snape-Black." Harry added. "Now…I think we should forget the final battle and everyone's stress for a night. It's vacation..." He paused. "Let's party. It's been a pretty great year and Voldemort is as good as gone…" He hoped.
"Whatever you want, Harry," Draco linked his fingers with Harry's as they shared a kiss.
"Then into the ballroom. Dobby! Lay out some drinks and snacks in the ballroom, please?" Harry called out.
"Yes, Master Harry, sir!" Dobby cheerfully replied.
"Come on, let's go have a great night. It's only 9:00 pm." Harry invited everyone.
It was an odd request, but who was anyone to argue. It's the best mood anyone had seen Harry in for months. If he wanted to celebrate everyone being together on vacation, plus the fact that all the horcruxes except for Nagini were destroyed then party they would. It was going to be a fun night.
