Walking into the Gym made me think that I had walked into the wrong building. But there was a Gym Guide there and the logo fot the Gym Challenge was present, so it couldn't have been the wrong building. The interior of the building was completely white and the three floors of the Gym were only connected by large silk strands that balloned into cocoons on the next floor and bridges also made of silk that were all linked by white platforms. The only color to be found was the rainbow colored Gym Logo and the uniforms of the Harlequins that were scattered thorughout the three floors.

The Gym Guide turned to look at me, having noticed that I had arrived for my challenge. "Hello, champion in the making! Burgh's Gym specializes in Bug-type Pocket Monsters so I hope you brought a Rock or Fire-type to deal with them. Best of luck, kid!". I nodded to the Guide and walked up to the cocoon in front of the entrance and was transported up to the second floor. It was difficult to navigagte the cocoons and the Gym Trainers were also a challenge to defeat. But I managed to defeat them all and get to the fourth floor where the Gym Leader was waiting.

It was designed as the opposite of the previous floors. Rather than being stark white, it was shaped like a cone and painted in every color I had seen and a few I had never never seen. There were paint cans and paint brushes strewn about the room and in the back of the room was a painting of the Gym logo in the same colors as the room. The Gym Leader Burgh, was in front of the painting and was covering himself in a silk sheet.

We only nodded at each other as we sent out our first Pocket Monster. Wottson appeared out of his Pocket Ball and faced off against Burgh's Dwebble, which he called Rocky and was quickly defeated with the liberal usage of Water Gun. Then Burgh sent out a Swadloon, which he addressed as Loona , who knocked Wottson with a critical hit Razor Leaf. I returned Wottoson and sent out the newest Pocket Monster that I had obtained. Eve, an Eevee. I had never seen an Eevee before since they were native to a far away region, but I had found and captured Eve on the streets of Castelia.

Eve used Take Down and Sand Attack to prevent Loona from hitting her and dealing enough damage to eventually knock her out. Mary, Burgh's last Pocket Monster, was also defeated in the same manner though she was much harder to defeat to actually being able to walk. With her defeat, Burgh gave me the Insect Badge, and a TM for Struggle Bug to use on a Pocket Monster in case I felt using a dumber version of Flame Charge. When I finally got down to the ground floor and left the Gym, I realized that I already had obtained three Badges. I was this much close to achieve my goal and couldn't afford to think about how much harder it would get from here.
