Chapter 6: Debut

One month had passed since the graduation exam and it was now time for all graduates to return to the academy to be informed of team placements. Naruto had just woken up and was getting dressed preparing for today as this would be the day he begins his journey to make his mark on history. "Todays the day, soon I will show all of them that I'm deserving of their respect". Said Naruto as even though he had others such as the third hokage and Hinata to keep in check he still has an inflated ego that he felt deserved respect due to his raw power.

Naruto had made his way to the academy no longer wearing his goggles with his forehead protector now covering his eyes with the plate in the right side of his head and entered his old classroom, and when he did so he found Hinata waiving to him upon his arrival to which he returned with a smile and sat beside her. "Hi Naruto, are you excited? I know you said it's unlikely but I really hope we are on the same team" said Hinata in a hopeful tone.

"Ha, like I said don't hold your breath, but all the same I hope so as well" said Naruto in an equally hopeful tone.

After their brief exchange they continued to wait as more of their fellow graduates entered the room. Those who entered the room gave a wide variety of reactions, as some entered with a nonchalant mannerism such as Shikamaru, Shino, and Sasuke and others who were just minding their own business. While others entered staring glares at Naruto hoping they weren't on his team which included Kiba, but his glare was different as Naruto and Kiba were at least civil before he could tell the glare Kiba was giving him were the same he would give Sasuke or anyone for a matter of a fact that made him feel inferior in some way as Kiba always needed to be the 'Alpha'. Lastly you had the loud and annoying type who typically were members of the Sasuke fan club, with its two head honchos Sakura and Ino being heard all the way from the end of the hall arguing about who would sit besides Sasuke and be on his team.

Naruto and others hearing the commotion just rolled their eyes and continued to wait for Iruka as the two entered, with Sasuke removing the chairs next to him not wanting to be bothered much to the dismay of the fangirls. While Naruto was sitting with his feet kicked up on the desk he noticed with his six eyes that Kiba was approaching and he simply said "What Kiba".

This really seemed to bother Kiba as he snarled at Naruto and responded "Who the hell do you think you are, you act like an incapable loser all through the academy then on the last day your all of a sudden a natural and score higher than me". He said in frustration as his pride couldn't allow for Naruto of all people to be better than him and what they and even Kiba himself didn't know was that what hurt his pride the most was that Hinata showed interest in Naruto and not him. "Listen Kiba, I don't really care about your hurt pride just leave me alone and bother someone else". Naruto replied in an exasperated tone.

"Now liste-" and before Kiba could retort Hinata said something.

"Kiba, please just leave him alone. This is not the time or place to argue over trivial matters." Said Hinata. And with that Kiba left in a huff glaring at Naruto and sasuke as he made his way back to his seat both utterly unbothered by the glares.

However soon Iruka made his way into the classroom and said "Welcome graduates! Today is a day you should remember for the rest of your lives, as today is the day you form bonds that will last a lifetime and make your mark on history." Everyone leaned up and focused at this point as they awaited for what really mattered for them, and that was who they would be teamed up with. "Now It is time for the moment of truth, now team one is…" Naruto began to space out until he heard "Team seven you are Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha". Naruto Cursed at this with Sakura also doing so until she heard Sasuke would be on her team much to the annoyance of Naruto and also Hinata who was now bitter Naruto would not be on her team.

"Team 8, you are Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame", Said Iruka.

"Hell yeahhhhhh! See Naruto you may have won the battle but you lost the war" scream Kiba in victory as Naruto rolled his eyes behind his forehead protector with Hinata glaring at Kiba genuinely annoyed by his rude remarks.

"Just ignore him Hinata, like I said we can always hang out and trade together outside missions and once we're chunin we will be given chances to team up." Naruto said to her in hopes of making her feel better.

"Enough Kiba" said Iruka in a disapproving tone. "Now if you don't mind… Team 9 is still active, so team 10 you are Shikimaru Nara, Choji Akamichi, and Ino Yamanaka." Finished Iruka With Ino slamming her head against her desk in frustration she was on a team with the lazy ass and glutton and not Sasuke.

Now that Iruka had announced teams he made one final statement and dismissed himself. "Now I wish you all luck in your careers and your Jonin senseis should be here shortly to retrieve you. Remember I am always here if you need me" Said Iruka to the class as he left.

Soon Jonin's made their way into the class to grab their students and soon two jonins in particular arrived. One of the said Jonin was a tall tan man with pointed hair, a full beard, and a cigarette in his mouth. As this man was Asuma Sarutobi the son of the third Hokage "Team 10 you are with me lets go" said the man as team 10 got up to leave with him.

The other Jonin was a woman with a slender frame, blood red eyes, long untamed black hair, and mesh armor with its outer layer resembling bandages or wrapping. This woman was Kurenai Yuhi, Konoha's genjutsu mistress. " And team 8 you are with me" she said to her team as they too also got up.

"I'll see you later Naruto" Hinata said to Naruto in a somber tone still unhappy with the circumstances as Naruto responded with a goodbye of his own." Once team 8 was gone this left team 7 on their own awaiting for the arrival of their sensei. They continued to wait however their patience had limits as they soon found themselves waiting for over 2 hours, and even Sasuke was beginning to get antsy at the amount of time they were waiting.

"CHAAA, where is our damned sensei!" screamed inner Sakura as she continued to hold in her frustration and kept waiting.

Soon however Naruto got up and made his way to the door and placed a seal on it. "Naruto! What do you think you're doing!" shouted Sakura.

"If whoever our sensei is won't take us seriously I guess I'll give him a little surprise when he arrives as this bad boy was made by yours truly" Naruto triumphantly said.

"IDIOTTTT! Do you want to get in trouble? You could kill sensei with whatever that seal does, and stop lying as there is no way someone like you could even do something as complex as making a seal." Sakura shouted.

"Yeah dobe, this is frustrating but don't drag us down with you," Sasukle said, saying something for the first time in a while.

"Don't worry geeez, it's simply a seal that instead of releasing an explosion it releases a dust cloud all over the target nothing harmful, and yes I made it as it's one of the first lessons in fuinjutsu is to alter a lethal seal into a nonlethal one disarming it." he said in an annoyed tone.

Sakura was about to retort when the door opened and a large dust cloud was released and a man with spiky white hair being its victim. Said man looked to the three and said "oh goody one of you knows seals doesn't take away from the fact I now hate you all" Said the man much to the horror of Sakura. "Now all of you meet me on the roof in 15 minutes" and with that the man body flickered away.

Naruto turned to the others and said "See yall up there" as he used cursed energy to flash away in a blur much to the shock of Sasuke and Sakura as they now rushed to the roof.

Kakashi had arrived on the roof in a swirl of leaves and brought out an orange book that would be very inappropriate to read around his students, not that he cared. He expected to be waiting at least a few minutes for them to arrive however Naruto had arrived with such speed that no genin should possess causing Kakashi to narrow his eyes at him causing Naruto to smile and simply say "Yo".

"Well you're pretty fast, and I didn't sense any chakra usage from you either as I only know two people who can move that fast without chakra," Kakashi said knowingly. While Hiruzen didn't give him all the details he still did make him aware Naruto possesses a power aside from traditional chakra.

"What can I say, I'm just that good," Naruto said in a cocky tone.

"Great, I have two ego's to keep in check." Thought Kakashi as he noticed the arrogant tone Naruto possessed.

Soon Sasuke and Sakura made it to the rooftop with both staring daggers at Naruto, as Sakura simply just found anything Naruto did annoying and Sasuke was analyzing him trying to decipher how he could move so fast. Kakashi, ready to get formalities out of the way and cut the tension among the group said "You all can admire each other later right now take a seat and let's introduce ourselves, now who wants to go first"?

"Introduce ourselves how, we all were in the same class ya know." asked Naruto

"I don't know… I guess tell us about things such as your likes, dislikes, future goals, and hobbies or whatever." Kakashi lazily said.

All of them looked at each other trying to see who would go first, however Sakura was the first to speak and said "Why don't you go first sensei, you know show us how it's done".

"Why not… well my likes and dislikes are none of your business, my goals are something I really haven't thought of, and my hobbies well I don't think I'll tell you. Now who's next" Kakashi dismissively said.

All of them gave a deadpan expression due to the dismissive and unwelcoming answer their sensei provided, and Naruto in return said "well I atleast know you like hiding things with that eye of yours, and being a pervert when I read that book of yours when I made my way up here".

"You know prying into others business is considered rude, Kakashi said impassively in a disapproving tone" how about you tell us more about your 'Special' eyes as a form of apology since you can see what I'm reading from so far away" Naruto cringed at that at simply dropped what he was saying as the man appeared to be at least somewhat aware of his abilities.

"What do you mean special eyes?" Sasuke asked, wondering what Kakashi meant.

"Oh nothing I was just messing around" Kakashi said, also dropping the subject now that Naruto had as he wanted to show him not to pry unless he was prepared for some form of retaliation.

Sasuke chose to let it slide but noted mentally what was said before Kakashi spoke again and said "your up blonde".

At that Naruto smiled and said "Names Uzumaki Naruto as yall know, and my likes are Ramen, those dear to me, and learning new skills. My dislikes are judgemental and ignorant people, my goals are to become the strongest so everyone has to respect me, and my hobbies are practicing fuinjutsu.

"Interesting… now you pinky." Kakashi said.

Sakura frowned at the nickname but continued "Welllll my name is Sakura Haruno and my likes are…and my goals…" giggled sakura trying to say her likes and goals while staring at Sasuke with a blush"

"Ohhhh brotherrr" the three thought in unison.

"And your dislikes?" Kakashi said in an exhausted tone.

"Narutoooo!" she shouted.

"Yeah yeah, screw you too" Said Naruto while yawning, much to the displeasure of Sakura.

"Okay that's enough, how about you captain emo?" Said Kakashi.

Sasuke also not a fan of the nickname said his part "hn, there are not many things I like, and there are many things I dislike, and as for my goals they aren't dreams but something I will make reality and that is to kill a certain man and restore my clan.

"Sooo dreammyyy" Thought Sakura.

"Oh boy, this will be a challenge," Thought Kakashi.

"Makes sense, but Gotta tweak that personality if we're gonna have to work with each other" Thought Naruto.

"Wellll… Now that introductions are out of the way meet me at training ground three at 7am, as now the real Genin exam begins as only 9 of the 27 graduates will become true genin at the discretion of their sensei." This surprised the three however Kakashi continued. "Now I suggest you don't eat breakfast as you will definitely puke." With that Kakashi left with a body flicker leaving the three to prepare.

"Well that's stupid, if we puke we puke but not eating is counter productive." Naruto said preparing to live.

"You Idiot can you listen for once in your life?" scolded Sakura.

"Yeah whatever, do what you want." Said Naruto as he also left in a blur shocking the other two once again.

"Who does he think he is? He has no proper manners and is so annoying. Maybe it's because he was never raised properly without having parents and all right Sasuke?" Said Sakura hoping for Sasuke's approval.

What Sakura said deeply offended Sasuke as he now also didn't have parent's and found what she said insensitive even to him and said "Sakura… the one who is truly annoying is you" He said coldly as he too also left leaving her hurt and left thinking.

##Naruto's Apartment##

"What do you think furball? How can I ensure I pass as I can't afford not to?" Naruto asked the Kyuubi.

"Call me Furball again and I promise I will rip your heart out, and to answer your question Just use that unique mind and abilities of yours and trust your gut". Said the Kyuubi.

"Hmmmm, should I really reveal my cards like that, Kakashi seems to already have some understanding of my abilities somehow but I don't know about showing the others." He said with concern.

"They would find out at some point anyways if they become your team, And I'm not saying show them everything just enough to get you through." explained the Kyuubi.

"I guess you make sense, thanks fleabag".

"Don't you dare call me that!"

"Well tell me your name because saying Kyuubi everytime is getting annoying."

"Hmmmm, not yet… not yet." the Kyuubi said while debating, doing so as he had grown some fondness for Naruto.

## Training ground 3##

It was bright and early in the morning and the three hopeful genin had arrived awaiting for the arrival of their Sensei. Naruto was the last to show, arriving just at 7 to the annoyance of Sakura. "Sensei could be here at any moment. Why are you just getting here?!" she said.

"I was eating breakfast and I'm here on time. What's the big deal?" Naruto said in defense.

"YOUUU ATEEEEE! You know I thought maybe I was a little too harsh to you but if you can't follow simple instructions maybe I was right." Screamed Sakura.

"Think what you want I really don't care" He said in a cool and dismissive tone. "Oh and don't ask me how I know but Kakashi won't be here for a while as I saw him somewhere I feel is personal to him so best get some rest or breakfast while we wait he said going to a tree to lean on and take a nap.

Both Sasuke and Sakura looked at him puzzled on what to do but chose to still follow 'orders' and wait for Kakashi, however as the hours passed they soon regretted not listening to Naruto as their stomachs growled in hunger and how tired they were caught up to him. Three hours later Kakshi arrived much to their annoyance and said "Sorry for the delay, but a black cat crossed my path and I had to take the long way around" he said in an obvious lie.

"Cut the crap and just get on with it" they all said in unison.

"Woahh there look at you all being one page, maybe you will pass" he said in a hinting tone. Kakashi looked at Naruto and noticed he seemed fully rested and not hungry and asked "So you ate when I said not to?".

"No you suggested we didn't eat you didn't order us not to, which I found stupid because it's better to eat and throw up than kill yourself exerting energy with an empty stomach." he said explaining his reasoning.

"... Smart we have a critical thinker I like that" this left both Sasuke and Sakura glaring at the two in annoyance which they both ignored unbothered by their glares.

"Now for the exam I have two bells which you have to capture before dawn, and as you can see there are three of you which means one of you will fail and go back to the academy." This statement scaring Sakura, motivating Sasuke, and making Naruto skeptical.

"I advise you all come with intent to kill. Not like you could but its the best chance you have at getting one of these bells. Now begin." he said, setting a timer for dawn and pulling out a book not taking the three seriously.

With that Sasuke and Sakura jumped away with Naruto standing there just analyzing Kakashi. You don't want to do the smart thing and form a plan like your potential teammates? Kakashi asked as he turned a page.

"I am just trying to gauge you, Multi-Shadow clone Jutsu" said Naruto as he sent a dozen clones to measure Kakashi's strengths.

Naruto had soon realized once his cursed energy is known it would be somewhat easy to tell Naruto from his clones they could not use cursed energy without individually imbuing them with it after her summons them defeating the point of hiding among the crowd which he doubted he would ever utilize them in such a way.

"Wait, those are solid clones, when did he learn to do that?" Sasuke wondered.

"Woahhh when did Naruto become cool" Sakura thought.

The clones were easily dispatched by Kakashi as he didn't even look away from his book. Naruto felt he saw enough and said "You seriously mean come at you with killing intent right?"

"Yes," Kakashi said impassively.

"Hmmm, Just remembered you said it" and with that Naruto flashed over to Kakashi with speed that even surprised him throwing a formidable strike creating a crater, and if not for Kakashi substituting with a log he would've been left with every bone in his body broken.

"WHAT THE HELL!" Shouted Sasuke.

"NO WAY!" echoed Sakura, both gawking at what Naruto had just done.

"Well I guess I should at least take you seriously, maybe I was being a bit too over confident considering your abilities". Kakashi said, putting his book away.

Naruto narrowed his eyes at the mark as he turned from the crater to where Kakashi was now standing and said " How much do you know and did the old man tell you?".

"I know enough, and not exactly just know I have always been watching you" he said dismissively.

"Well that's not creepy, whatever just be ready Shadow Shuriken Jutsu!" said Naruto as he launched a barrage of shuriken that multiplied into a little over a hundred. Kakashi once again substituted with a log to safety, and much to the surprise of Naruto Somehow left his field of view which was impossible to him as even with his eyes covered it should span almost the entire training ground.

However to the surprise of Naruto he suddenly felt his legs being grabbed and was pulled into the ground before he could activate his limitless. " You're good… very good, but you lack discipline, teamwork and your ego, much like a duck butt over there will get you killed. But don't worry if you all pass together I will correct as many flaws on you three as possible." with that Kakashi body flickered away leaving Naruto frustrated.

However it didn't slip his mind what Kakshi said due to that perceptive mind of his. "Wait, did he say teamwork and that he fix all of our flaws?"

##With Sasuke##

Sasuke was amazed yet angered by what he just saw from Naruto, as what he saw was nothing of the Naruto he knew, not that he paid much attention to him either way, righting him off as insignificant. Sasuke needed to prove to himself and show that he was the strongest on the team and the best way to do this was to get a bell.

Sasuke Noticed Kakashi who also noticed him and said "Fire style fireball jutsu" releasing a massive torrent of flames at Kakashi.

Kakashi countered the attack with a mud wall and thought "Hmmmm, I really have an interesting team huh." Before Sasuke could finish the jutsu he was also pulled underground by Kakashi's Headhunter jutsu. " tick tock tick tock, only one hour left for you and the others to make a plan and get your stuff together" he said with a condescending eye smile leaving to another section of the training ground once again.

##With Sakura##

Sakura was feeling really inadequate after seeing the display of both Naruto and Sasuke, she was trying to see what the next steps are but soon she heard "hey Sakura help me out" said Naruto reluctantly, his pride obviously hurting.

"Why shouldn't I just leave you there, and help Sasuke so we can get the bells" She said in a snarky tone.

"OH SHUT THE FUCK UP! You can obsess over Sasuke later cause I think I figured out a way for us all to pass," said Naruto, shocking Sakura with the assertiveness and slight aura he left behind with his initial outburst.

Sakura was hesitant but went to help him out and Naruto spoke after he got out of the ground "that was a part of us passing working together." Sakura was confused at the statement and Naruto continued. "Think about when have you ever heard of a three man genin squad, no this test is to put us against each other as no normal genin could beat a jonin unless they worked together."

Sakura was going to refute but then said "you... May be right." She conceded.

"I know I am, I'm sure I could take him once I understand his abilities better but that's besides the point. I saw Sasuke get handled so we need him to get onboard so we can all work together and get those bells." he explained.

"How could you have possibly seen Sasuke from where you were!?" Sakura asked in a disbelieving tone.

Naruto simply stared at her and said "Let's get Sasuke."

##Back with Sasuke##

"I don't buy it," Said Sasuke as he argued with Naruto.

"Why do you have to be so difficult!? Scratch that I know why but still. Listen, let's just try my plan and if I'm wrong you two can have the bell's deal?" Naruto explained.

"Hm, Fine" Said Sasuke

"I do what Sasuke does," Sakura said.

Naruto gave a wide confident grin and said "alright let's do this!"

##With Kakashi##

Dawn was near and Kakashi was getting ready to wrap things up, however soon he could hear rustling in the surrounding forest as dozens of Naruto clones leaped out. Kakashi dispatched a few however he soon realized one of the clones was a disguised Sasuke who unleashed another fireball causing Kakashi to leap away. While he lept away the real Naruto had jumped above him and threw another Shadow Shurken barrage. Kakashi had once again substituted with a nearby log, however expecting this Sakura leaped out of the nearby bushes reaching for the bells. Very much happy the team was working together, he allowed for Sakura to grab the bells allowing them to successfully complete the task he had given them.

"WE DID ITTTT!" screamed Sakura in excitement.

"Hn" Said Sasuke, giving a reluctant smile.

"Hell yeah!" Said Naruto putting his hand for them to give him high fives, which they did not return as he simply shrugged and ignored the jab from them and high fived himself.

"Very good you three, but now we have a dilemma. Who will you send back to the academy?" Kakashi asked.

"None of us as we all know that was a lie to see if we work together, but if you really are an asshole I honor my word and I promised to let them have the bells if they went along with my plan." Naruto confidently explained.

"Are you sure that's the hill you want to die on?" asked Kakashi, testing his resolve.

"I don't waiver," He said, giving a cocky smirk.

"Well if that's the case I guess I have no choice but to say you… passed." Kakashi said proud of his new team. We are now officially team 7, so now if you don't mind following me as I have something to show you. Said Kakashi leading them to an unknown location.

"This is heroes monument, here lies the names of all leaf shinobi who died in the line of duty protecting their comrades. I wanted to show you all this and test you the way I did to emphasize the importance of teamwork. Always remember that those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum." Kakashi explained.

"You were here for a while before the test, sensei" Is someone you knew name on here?' Naruto asked as Kakashi stood there silent.

"Naruto! Not cool" Sakura shouted.

"No Sakura" Kakashi interrupted "You are my team now and should know this, and to answer your question yes my whole team is and their names are Rin Nohara, Obito Uchiha, and my sensei Minato Namikaze."

"You were close with an Uchiha," Sasuke asked.

"And you were a student of the fourth" Naruto asked, both probing the man for different reasons.

"Yes I was to both of your questions, and that's all I will say." he said dropping the subject.

Both of them glared at the man but also chose to not push. "Now be here at 9am sharp and prepare for training and missions, dismissed. With that Kakashi left the area in a puff of smoke.

"Yeah I bet he's gonna be late again, well you guys wanna get Ramen?" as he turned around and noticed they were both leaving. "Well more for me" he said as he also left the grounds to get Ichiraku ramen as celebration for the milestone of becoming a ninja.

##Border of the land of waves##

Hanami had wandered the lands trying to pinpoint a familiar Cursed energy signature. Hanami was the first cursed spirit above second grade to be born in this world but realized more second and first grade curses were being born. However it had sensed another special grade Curse being born and one it remembered fondly. Soon Hanami was standing near the ocean on a beach as a curse was being born and when it finally formed Hanami said in an endearing tone "Dagon… it's truly you my friend."
