In this variation Elizabeth begins to spend summers with the Gardiners in Derbyshire at a fairly young age. As a result she develops her own ties to that part of the world and its people, including the Darcy's of Pemberley.

Darcy received a highly upsetting letter from Georgiana. He takes refuge in the library, but Elizabeth is already hiding there...

It is Christmas Eve, Elizabeth is pregnant and unhappy, her marriage is not what she expected. William hears her talking, wishing he could tell her why he stays mostly away; making him sad. Jane finds out Charles is less than faithful. Miss Bingley is her usual self, about to commit a dastardly deed to 'ruin' Elizabeth's Christmas.
