I do NOT own any of the recognisable plot or characters. I only came up with the Riddle family and current story line. There are excerpts in this particular piece.
Professor McGonagall led a long line of first years into the great hall. They were all soaked to the bone. Alexandria was wringing out her hair that had come undone from her ponytail while on the boats.
They passed all of the students already sitting at their house tables, Hermione locked eyes with the purple irises of the younger girl. She gave a small nod to the curly haired witch. They had come to some sort of an agreement on the train, though the older witch clearly didn't trust the raven-haired one.
Alexandria had spoken to Hermione on the train for a few minutes, but she wasn't sure if they would get along in the future. Draco had promised to stop bullying the girl and he would try to help her get Granger on their side.
Alexandria was lost in her thoughts when the line of first years stopped and she almost stepped on the slightly taller girl in front of her.
"Sorry," she mumbled. The girl just grinned. She had olive green eyes and short dark brown hair. She had darker skin than Alex and had a bright smile.
"Hi, I'm Jess," she introduced herself as the Sorting Hat was brought out. Most of the Great Hall fell silent, but Alexandria and Jess kept talking as quietly as possible.
"Alex Riddle," Alexandria returned the smile, her bright purple eyes capturing the attention of the taller girl.
The Sorting Ceremony started, "Quite unsanitary, sharing a hat," Jess added.
"Ackerley, Stewart!" McGonagall called.
"RAVENCLAW!" the hat shouted. Alexandria grinned.
Jess saw, "You think you're gonna get in Ravenclaw?"
"Mum says so, so does my dad, and he's a Slytherin."
"Cool!" Jess exclaimed. "I hope I get in."
"Baddock, Malcolm," the next name was called.
"SLYTHERIN!" The Slytherin table erupted in cheers. The Weasley twins hissed and booed. Alexandria glared in their direction. Shame, she thought, they were mischievous enough to be proper Slytherins.
"Branstone, Eleanor!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Cauldwell, Owen!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Creevey, Dennis!"
"GRYFFINDOR!" Alexandria rolled her eyes.
"Dobbs, Emma!"
"RAVENCLAW!"
"Franklin, Jessica!" Jess took a deep breath and stepped forward. "Hope I don't get lice," she whispered to Alex, who gave a light chuckle.
"RAVENCLAW!" Alex cheered as the taller girl skipped off to the cheering table.
"Harvey, Daniel!"
"SLYTHERIN!" The Weasley twins booed again.
"Jewell, Charlotte!"
"SLYTHERIN!" More hissing.
"Kimball, John!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Madley, Laura!"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"McDonald, Natalie!"
"GRYFFINDOR!"
"Pritchard, Graham!"
"SLYTHERIN!" Alexandria met Draco's smirking eyes.
"Quirke, Orla!"
"RAVENCLAW!" Alexandria started getting slightly nervous. She was next.
"Riddle, Alexandria!" Dumbledore looked at the young girl, the twinkle gone from the baby blue eyes.
Well, well, well, what do we have here? The hat asked. The daughter of the Dark Lord himself. Where to put you? The child of a Slytherin, so much like your father.
Oh. I see. You are much like your mother as well. She was a brilliant student, I remember. You could do great in both Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Where will you thrive most at Hogwarts?
Alexandria squeezed her eyes shut.
"RAVENCLAW!" Violet eyes lit up and she ran over to the cheering table, well one of the two cheering tables. Slytherin was also cheering quite loudly, causing the rest of the school to turn to their friends in confusion. The Slytherins cheering for a Ravenclaw firstie? It was unheard of.
I wrote the first 12-ish chapters already, so I posted them all. I'll try to keep adding chapters weekly, or every fortnight. I hope you enjoy my first story ever!
