Chapter 1: Drifting star
Fire, darkness, chaos, bloodshed. That was the state of a small coastal town near the edge of Fiore. However, a bleeding woman can be seen running away from the carnage while holding onto something, a small basket containing a baby boy just 3 months old.
The boy, Romeo, was sleeping soundly despite all the carnage going on around. The woman, Enno, looks down at her son and despite everything that's happening, she can't help but have a small, warm smile on her face.
He reminds her of his father and her former lover, Macao Conbolt with his few strands of purple hair and beautiful onyx eyes. She met him during her time as a mage/dancer for a guild named Fairy Tail and had garnered many fans including Macao who had asked her out which led to a two years long relationship before she decided to leave the guild, looking for a more quiet life.
What she hadn't realized was that she was pregnant with Macao's child until she had settled in. Despite the unexpected pregnancy, she couldn't be any happier when her son is born. She had planned on bringing him to the guild once he reached 4 months old which she believed is old enough to make the trip there.
However, a sudden attack by a group of dark mages on the town she was in took away her chance of seeing the plan through. She tried to fight back but was gravely injured and is now fleeing with her son in hand. The sharp pain from her injuries snapped her back to reality as she realized the harsh truth: she doesn't have much time left.
Looking down on her son, she tried her best to think of a way to save him, knowing what kind of horrific fate awaits him if he's captured by the dark mages. Looking around for somewhere to hide him, all she could see is the sandy beach, and the vast calming sea.
"It's insane" she thought to herself, but what else can she do, she's running out of time and there's no other option. As fast as she could, she pulled out a white handkerchief and started writing using her blood. She then looked at her baby boy one last time before saying "mommy will always love you my sweet Romeo", kissing him on the cheek and setting him across the wave. She collapsed, the injuries getting the better of her and in her dying breath, she prayed to the stars for her son's safety and for him to have a good life with a loving family.
A shooting star flies across the night sky.
Author's note
Hi. So in case you don't know, this was inspired from The Strata Dragon Slayer by Cyburst who sadly dropped the series but still wanted others to adopt their story and/or try to finish the story themself. This is my version of the story. Obviously if you read the original story you'll notice several key differences between the two stories but also some similarities. That's because while I plan on writing this story my own way I also want to try and see if I can follow up on stuff Cyburst established(in my own twist of course). While I probably won't be going past Tartaros with this story and skip some filler arcs, I'll also add in some of my own original arcs and cover some filler arcs too. We'll see where this story goes I guess.
