Kingdom Hearts X Avengers: The Infinity War
Preview Chapter: Enter the Wayfinders
The Land of Departure, where the world stood bathed in the soft hues of twilight, Terra, Aqua, and Ventus found themselves seated together. The setting sun painted the sky with warm tones, casting a serene glow over the landscape that mirrored the quiet satisfaction in their hearts. It had been over a decade since the three friends had shared such a moment, and the reunion carried an emotional weight that words struggled to capture.
They watched in companionable silence as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the heavens in shades of pink and orange. The world seemed to pause, giving them a chance to breathe and savor the tranquility that had eluded them for so long. As the first stars began to twinkle in the darkening sky, Ventus broke the silence, his voice tinged with a hint of nostalgia.
"Can we stay up and watch the stars like old times?" Ventus asked, his gaze fixed on the celestial display above.
Terra, wearing a gentle smile, couldn't resist a playful jab back at the young Ventus.
"Isn't it past your bedtime, Ven?" He teased, a glint of camaraderie in his eyes.
"HEY!" Ventus remarked loudly. "I'm not a little kid!"
"We may have been separated for so long, but sadly you're still a kid, Ven," Terra replied with a small chuckle and smirk.
Aqua, catching the drift of the banter, laughed heartily at the two boys banter.
"Some things never change," Aqua remarked, her eyes reflecting the joy of being together once more. "You two would still make the worst brothers."
"And after all these years apart, it still seems sometimes you are such a girl!" Terra responded towards Aqua, quick to respond in jest.
Laughter rippled through the trio, a harmonious melody that echoed through the quietude of the Land of Departure. The shared mirth was a balm to wounds old and new, a testament to the enduring camaraderie that had weathered the test of time.
However, their time together was abruptly interrupted by a sudden shimmering portal, accompanied by a resonant voice that carried an air of authority and wisdom. The trio turned as one to face the portal, their collective gaze fixated on the mysterious doorway that had materialized within the serenity of the Land of Departure. An unspoken understanding passed between Terra, Aqua, and Ventus—they sensed that something of great importance was about to unfold. As the trio stood together, a voice resonated from the depths of the shimmering portal.
"Terra, Aqua, Ventus," spoke the voice, each syllable weighed with both wisdom and concern. The familiarity of the tone sent shivers down their spines, and they exchanged glances filled with anticipation.
"Master Yen Sid?" Terra responded, his voice echoing with a mix of surprise and recognition. The trio now faced the portal with a heightened sense of awareness, their surroundings fading into the background as they awaited further guidance.
"Yes," replied Yen Sid, his voice booming with an unmistakable resonance. "I summon you. Come forth immediately!" The words hung in the air, cryptic in their urgency, leaving the trio to grapple with the unexpected call to action.
Aqua's brows furrowed in concern, and Ventus looked at his companions with a mixture of curiosity and readiness. The voice of Master Yen Sid, though filled with wisdom, hinted at a pressing matter that required their immediate attention. The trio exchanged determined glances, a silent agreement passing between them.
Without uttering a word, they moved towards the shimmering portal, each step guided by a sense of duty and an unspoken trust in the call of their master. As they entered the luminous threshold, the Land of Departure seemed to hold its breath, and the portal closed behind them, leaving only echoes of the trio's departure lingering in the air. The world they left behind brimmed with the quiet beauty of a tranquil sunset, unaware of the destinies that now awaited Terra, Aqua, and Ventus in realms unknown.
As the trio emerged on the other side, they found themselves standing in Yen Sid's magnificent chamber—a room adorned with ancient tomes and magical artifacts, imbued with an aura of gravitas. Yen Sid, seated before them, wore a grim expression that hinted at the seriousness of the revelation he was about to share.
"Terra, Aqua, Ventus," Yen Sid began, his voice carrying both wisdom and concern. "I bring troubling news."
"Master?" Aqua replied, deep with concern.
"What's wrong?" Ventus asked, curious to know what the problem was.
"With Master Xehanort and his plans now defeated, we have a new threat lingering in the cosmos," Yen Sid explained, his face stern and voice cautious.
"A new threat?" Terra asked, his brow furrowing with a mix of surprise and readiness for what lay ahead.
"Indeed," Yen Sid replied, his gaze unwavering. "A Titan named Thanos, a being of immense power and destructive intent, seeks to bring balance to the universe through the acquisition of the Infinity Stones."
"The Infinity Stones, Master?" Aqua questioned, her eyes widening with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension.
"I've never heard of these stones before either," Terra added, uncertain about the nature of the impending danger.
"Neither have I?" Ventus interjected, his expression reflecting genuine confusion. "What exactly are they?"
Yen Sid raised his hand, and with a subtle gesture, a projection materialized in front of the three heroes. The ethereal display illuminated the chamber as Yen Sid began to unravel the mystery.
"The Infinity Stones are ancient relics of immense power," Yen Sid explained, his voice taking on a tone of solemnity, "each representing a fundamental aspect of the universe. Together, they possess unimaginable capabilities that can shape reality itself."
As the projection materialized in front of the trio, the chamber was bathed in the ethereal glow of mystical and colorful lights. Each stone, suspended in a cosmic dance, emanated a distinct and mesmerizing hue that captivated Terra, Aqua, and Ventus.
At the center of the display, a radiant blue gem, the Space Stone, pulsed with the essence of the cosmos, hinting at the vastness of space it could manipulate. Beside it, a vibrant red stone, the Reality Stone, seemed to warp the very air around it, promising the ability to reshape reality itself.
To the left, a luminous yellow gem, the Mind Stone, exuded an enigmatic intelligence, as if harboring secrets of cosmic consciousness. Opposite it, a deep purple stone, the Power Stone, radiated raw, untamed energy, promising unimaginable strength to its possessor.
Nestled between them, a green stone, the Time Stone, shimmered with the possibilities of temporal manipulation, evoking the mysteries of past and future. Lastly, a radiant orange gem, the Soul Stone, seemed to contain the essence of life itself, pulsating with an otherworldly vitality.
Together, the six stones formed a kaleidoscope of cosmic power, each color a testament to the fundamental forces they represented. As the heroes gazed upon the mesmerizing spectacle, the gravity of their mission became even more apparent. These Infinity Stones, with their alluring yet perilous allure, held the key to reshaping the very fabric of existence, and in the wrong hands, they could unleash devastation across the cosmos
"Thanos, driven by a misguided sense of balance, believes that the only way to bring order to the universe is by gathering these stones and wielding their combined might," Yen Sid continued. "It is a perilous quest that threatens not only your world but countless others across the vastness of space."
"Misguided sense of balance, Master?" Terra inquired, his voice tinged with a mix of concern and curiosity.
Yen Sid met Terra's gaze, his eyes reflecting a profound understanding of the gravity of the situation.
"Thanos believes that the universe is plagued by overpopulation, chaos, and disorder," Yen Sid explained. "In his warped perspective, he sees himself as the harbinger of balance, and to achieve it, he seeks to wield the power of the Infinity Stones."
"But why?" Aqua remarked, her eyes widened in alarm with the implications of Thanos' ideologies sinking in. "How could anyone believe in such a destructive solution?"
Yen Sid sighed, acknowledging the weight of their inquiries.
"Thanos is driven by a twisted ideology," Yen Sid explained further. "He believes that by eradicating half of all life in the universe, he can restore order and bring about a semblance of balance. It is a path paved with misguided conviction and an unfathomable lust for power."
Ventus, still trying to grasp the enormity of the revelation, shook his head in disbelief.
"But wiping out half of the universe—how is that balance? How could anyone justify such atrocities?"
Yen Sid's expression remained somber as he explained, "In Thanos' eyes, it is a necessary sacrifice for the greater good. He believes that he alone possesses the strength and wisdom to make such decisions, and he is willing to wield the might of the Infinity Stones to impose his will upon the cosmos."
The room hung heavy with the weight of Thanos' distorted convictions, the air thick with an ominous foreboding. The trio exchanged glances, their eyes conveying a silent acknowledgment of the magnitude of the threat they now faced. What had begun as a journey toward a semblance of normalcy had veered sharply into the cosmic unknown.
Terra, Aqua, and Ventus, now fully aware of the peril unfolding, turned to Yen Sid with urgency in their eyes.
"Where is Thanos now?" Terra inquired, his voice carrying a gravity that matched the situation.
Yen Sid met their gaze, his expression solemn, "Thanos is en route to his home world, Titan. The Time Stone is there waiting for him."
A hushed silence settled over the chamber as the heroes processed the information. The realization dawned upon them that Thanos, armed with four Infinity Stones, was on a path that led directly to the coveted Time Stone. The stakes had skyrocketed, and the fate of the universe hung precariously in the balance.
"How many stones does he have?" Aqua asked, her voice steady but laced with concern.
Yen Sid paused, his demeanor heavy with the weight of the truth. With a sigh, he replied, "He wields four: Power, Space, Reality, and Soul."
Yen Sid's revelation about Thanos wielding four Infinity Stones hung in the air, and the trio, their brows furrowed, couldn't help but question the urgency of the titan's acquisition.
"Why does he have so many?" Ventus asked, a mixture of confusion and concern etched across his features.
Yen Sid, his eyes carrying the weight of ages, began to unravel the dark tale of Thanos' quest for power.
"Thanos obtained the Power Stone by devastating the planet Xandar, leaving it in ruins in his insatiable pursuit of dominance."
A somber gravity settled over the chamber as the heroes absorbed the first chapter of Thanos' destructive journey. Terra, Aqua, and Ventus exchanged troubled glances, realizing the extent of the destruction wrought by the titan.
"The Space Stone was seized from an Asgardian Refugee Ship," Yen Sid continued, his voice steady but laced with sorrow. "Thanos, relentless in his pursuit, spared no corner of the universe in his quest for supremacy."
A tense pause followed, the heroes contemplating the cosmic devastation caused by the titan. Aqua's eyes reflected a deep concern, and Terra clenched his fists in a silent resolve. Ventus, still absorbing the weight of the revelations, urged Yen Sid to continue.
"The Reality Stone," Yen Sid explained, "was stolen from the Collector's collection on Nowhere. Thanos decimated the once bustling hub of galactic trade, leaving only ruin in his wake."
The heroes listened, their expressions a mix of horror and determination. The tale of Thanos' ruthless conquest unfolded before them, painting a grim picture of a universe under siege. Yet, Yen Sid hesitated before revealing the origin of the Soul Stone, sensing the complexity of the story that awaited.
"The Soul Stone," Yen Sid finally began, his voice measured, "is a darker tale. It involves sacrifices and choices, the depths of which I fear are beyond our comprehension."
Terra, Aqua, and Ventus exchanged uneasy glances, their expressions mirroring a mix of curiosity and trepidation. Terra, always the one to seek understanding, spoke up.
"What do you mean, Master?" he asked, his voice carrying a weight of anticipation.
Yen Sid sighed, as if burdened by the knowledge he held and knew, ready to share to his three allies.
"The acquisition of the Soul Stone requires a unique and devastating cost," Yen Sid explained. "One must sacrifice something, someone, dear to them. The specifics of this sacrifice are shrouded in mystery, and the toll it exacts goes beyond the mere material or mortal realm."
A heavy silence fell over the chamber as the trio absorbed the gravity of Yen Sid's words. The idea of sacrificing something dear to attain unimaginable power struck at the core of their values. Aqua, her eyes reflecting a mixture of concern and realization, voiced what they all were thinking.
"But what kind of sacrifice?" she asked, her voice a whisper in the profound stillness of the room.
Yen Sid's gaze lingered on the trio, his eyes conveying the weight of the moral dilemma that accompanied the pursuit of the Soul Stone.
"It is a sacrifice that transcends the boundaries of the physical and delves into the very essence of one's being. The true cost is known only to those who make the choice, and the echoes of that sacrifice resonate through the fabric of the universe."
"And Thanos... what did he sacrifice?" Ventus questioned, with his brow furrowed.
Yen Sid hesitated, choosing his words with care before he continued.
"The knowledge of Thanos' sacrifice is veiled in secrecy. It is a personal cost, one that binds him to the Soul Stone and grants him its formidable power. The depths of such sacrifices often defy understanding and plunge those who make them into a darkness few can fathom."
The trio absorbed the weight of this revelation, a heavy silence lingering in the chamber as they grappled with the profound implications of Thanos' choices. Ventus, unable to contain his curiosity, pressed on.
"So, Thanos now seeks the Time Stone on his home world?" The young Keyblade wielder enquired.
Yen Sid nodded solemnly, "Yes, Titan. However, the Time Stone is not unguarded. It is currently in the possession of the Sorcerer Supreme, a guardian of Earth who wields formidable magical abilities."
"Sorcerer Supreme?" Aqua questioned, her blue eyes narrowing in contemplation.
"The Sorcerer Supreme is a title granted to the most powerful and skilled sorcerer tasked with protecting the mystical forces of the universe," Yen Sid answered, unraveling the mystique surrounding this enigmatic figure. "In this instance, the current Sorcerer Supreme was abducted from Earth by one of The Children of Thanos."
"Children of Thanos?" Aqua inquired, her curiosity piqued.
Yen Sid nodded solemnly, "Yes, the Children of Thanos are formidable and loyal followers of the Titan. They carry out his will with unwavering determination. Each one is a formidable adversary, wielding unique skills and abilities that make them a force to be reckoned with."
Aqua exchanged a concerned glance with Terra and Ventus, realizing the gravity of the threat they were about to face. The Children of Thanos, loyal enforcers of the titan's will, posed a significant challenge to the heroes on Earth and the delicate balance of the universe.
"How did this follower manage to take the Sorcerer Supreme?" Terra questioned with intrigue, seeking more details.
"The Sorcerer Supreme was kidnapped by this follower as the stone was protected by magic, not allowing it to fall into the wrong hands willingly," Yen Sid answered.
"Wow, that's some powerful magic," Terra replied in awe.
"Yes," Yen Sid added. "But this meant the only way to take the stone away from the Master of the Mystic Arts was to abduct him and try to remove it with force."
"Was this Child of Thanos stopped?" Ventus asked, eager to find out more.
"He was. They were apprehended by heroes from Earth, a duo named Iron Man and Spider-Man. In a desperate move, they blasted the abductor into space," Master Yen Sid explained.
"Not a fun way to go," Terra remarked with a nervous chuckle, attempting to lighten the gravity of the situation.
"I'll say," Ventus added in surprise, turning to Terra. "We have to wear our Keyblade armor to survive the coldness of space."
"Indeed, Ven," Terra replied, his voice steady. "The bitter coldness and the lack of oxygen in The Lanes Between are critical challenges. Fortunately, the Keyblade armor we don protects us from these perilous elements, ensuring our journey through the cosmic expanse is as safe as possible."
With the two Keyblade wielders in debate on the importance of wearing protective armor to travel on their gliders to other worlds, Aqua was puzzled by the mention of a world these heroes came from.
"Earth... Why does that world sound familiar?" Aqua mused, her expression reflective of the uncertainty that lingered in her mind. The concept of Earth held an enigmatic quality, a distant familiarity that tugged at the edges of her awareness.
"I've heard of Earth," Terra said. "Master Eraqus mentioned it—a world full of heroes and villains."
"Really?" Ventus exclaimed, his curiosity piqued. "How did The Master know about this world called Earth?"
"Your Master, Eraqus, was well-versed in the knowledge of different worlds," Yen Sid interjected. "Earth, with its unique balance of heroes and villains, holds a significant place in the cosmic tapestry."
Terra nodded in agreement, "And now, those heroes find themselves on Titan, waiting for the showdown with Thanos."
"Indeed, and we must ally with these heroes to stop Thanos," Responded Yen Sid. "This is why I have called you."
"Master, what about the rest of the Guardians of Light?" Aqua enquired, echoing her concerns. "Are they getting involved to stop Thanos too?"
"It's all hands on deck," Terra added, feeling the gravity of the situation.
"We need all our friends to stop Thanos," Ventus remarked, eager to team up with the other Guardians of Light.
Yen Sid sighed, his expression complex.
"I have tasked Donald, Goofy, and Kairi to cease the search for Sora temporarily to protect the Mind Stone on Earth from Thanos' forces. Our friends in Twilight Town are on standby if needed."
"But what about Riku and Mickey?" Terra pressed.
Yen Sid's gaze turned grave, "Sadly, Riku and Mickey are currently missing."
"Missing? What do you mean, missing?" Aqua demanded, her concern evident.
Yen Sid explained with a heavy heart, "They attempted to stop Thanos from acquiring the Soul Stone, but I cannot pinpoint their current location. They are in the cosmic abyss, and their exact whereabouts elude me."
"We have to find them!" Terra declared, his fists clenched. "Surely, they have to be out there."
"I have someone looking for them," Yen Sid assured with a nod, understanding the urgency to find the two missing heroes.
"Who? Who is searching for Riku and Mickey?" Aqua asked, with her worry etched on her face.
Yen Sid's gaze turned towards the stars from his window, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"An old ally and a marvel from the stars. They are relentless in their pursuit and possess the knowledge to navigate the cosmic realms. We must have faith that they will bring our friends back to us."
Even with Mickey and Riku missing, their other friends had been given instructions by Master Yen Sid. It seemed the remaining Guardians of Light had their parts to play to stop the Mad Titan and his plan to wipe out half of the universe. However, the job of the Wayfinder Trio was still needing to be fully explained, with Terra stepping forward to ask the former Keyblade Master what were their next steps on aiding the heroes of Earth.
"So, if I understand correctly, you want us to go and help the heroes from Earth protect the Time Stone on Titan?" Terra asked, speaking up, sensing the weight of their responsibility to help.
"Yes, Terra," Yen Sid responded. "You three possess unique strengths, and your assistance will be invaluable in facing the challenges that lie ahead."
The trio exchanged glances, a silent communication passing between them. The magnitude of the task at hand was evident, and yet, a sense of duty and determination resonated within their hearts. Aqua, always composed, spoke up.
"It's a risky endeavor," She said with caution. "But, we've faced great challenges before. We can do this."
"And if there's a chance to help our friends and protect the universe, I'm in!" Ventus added, his expression reflected with a mix of excitement and trepidation.
Terra, the stalwart leader, affirmed their collective decision.
"We've always stood together, and now is no different. We'll face the dangers, protect the Time Stone, and bring our friends back."
Yen Sid acknowledged their resolve, "Your bravery is commendable. The cosmic tapestry is woven with threads of uncertainty, but I have faith that you, as Guardians of Light, will navigate its intricacies and emerge victorious."
"Thank you, Master," Terra replied. "We will do what we must to stop Thanos."
"Yeah," Ventus added. "But the question is, how do we get to this Titan?"
"Should we take the Lanes Between Worlds?" Aqua asked, looking to Master Yen Sid for clarity.
Yen Sid rose from his chair, the weight of responsibility evident in his demeanor.
"No," he said firmly, "time is of the essence." With a wave of his hand, he summoned another portal, the shimmering gateway revealing glimpses of Titan beyond.
The trio looked through the portal, catching sight of the once-thriving world now reduced to a desolate wasteland. The once vibrant and thriving world now bore the scars of cosmic turmoil. A landscape of barren expanses stretched far and wide, with jagged rocks and lifeless terrain replacing the once teeming life that had defined the planet.
The skies above Titan, once filled with the brilliance of cosmic wonders, now hung heavy with an eerie stillness. Wisps of dust and debris danced in the air, painting a haunting picture of the devastation that had befallen this celestial realm. The remnants of ancient structures and monuments lay scattered, reminiscent of a time when Titan was a beacon of life and prosperity.
The trio could see the remnants of what might have been bustling cities, now reduced to ruins. The scars of battles waged and the echoes of a once-thriving civilization lingered in the air. Titan, once a symbol of hope and resilience, had been transformed into a desolate wasteland—a stark testament to the destructive power of cosmic forces.
"This portal will take you directly to Titan. Once a world teeming with life, it has now become a battleground. The heroes of Earth will be waiting for you," Yen Sid explained.
The trio looked to one another, their eyes reflecting determination amidst the cosmic uncertainty. A silent understanding passed between them – a shared commitment to protect the universe from Thanos and thwart his quest to collect all the stones. The gravity of the situation pressed upon them, but their resolve remained unyielding.
Terra, the stalwart leader, spoke with conviction, "We face great dangers, but together, we'll stand as Guardians of Light and face whatever challenges come our way. Our friends, the heroes of Earth, count on us. We won't let them down."
"Our bonds have carried us through countless trials," Aqua added. "We'll face this one with the same strength and unity that has defined us."
Ventus with youthful optimism in his eyes, nodded in agreement.
"And we won't forget why we're doing this. To protect our friends, our worlds, and the balance of the universe." He said, eager to do what was right and stop the Mad Titan from succeeding.
With a shared determination, the trio stepped through the portal, leaving the familiar behind to embrace the unknown challenges that awaited them on Titan. The destiny of worlds hung in the balance, and as the portal closed behind them, they embarked on a journey that would test their mettle, their bonds, and their commitment to safeguarding the cosmic tapestry of existence.
"Good luck," Yen Sid said, seeing the portal shut in front of him. "May your heart be your guiding key."
The words lingered in the air, a whispered blessing that resonated with the weight of the task at hand. As the trio ventured into the cosmic unknown, the echoes of Yen Sid's well-wishes served as a beacon of hope, guiding them through the vastness of space towards the battleground where heroes from Earth awaited. The fate of the universe now rested in the hands of Terra, Aqua, and Ventus as they set forth to confront the looming threat of Thanos and protect the precious Time Stone.
