The next morning Mack woke up in a jolt as she heard a loud crash. Seconds later she heard another. "Oh boy what is he doing now?". She hopped out of bed and walked to the steps.
"I wouldn't" She heard Ethan say as he was standing there with Kira and Conner. "Nice Pj's. Love the unicorns"
She was wearing a white t-shirt with blue pants covered in unicorns. "Yeah they remind me of the ones you have, you know the ones with the horses" She replied with a smirk causing Kira to giggle. "Dare i ask what is going on down there?"
"See for yourself" Conner gestured as she walked down just in time to see her brother flying across the room.
"Don't come in its not safe!" He yelled.
"I see that." Mack said slowly as he landed in front of her covered in slime. "Gross"
"Is that what was in those eggs earlier?" Ethan asked pulling him to his feet. He shook his hand to clear the slime.
"Yeah i'm trying to train them" Tommy coughed out.
"Train what?" Mack asked walking in carefully.
"Raptor riders".
Mack turned to her brother. "Come again?" She wondered as she ducked from a yellow tail."Hey enough!" She yelled causing all four raptor riders to stop. "There that's how its done"
Conner and Tommy shared a look but Tommy spoke. "Thank you"
"My pleasure you just need a woman to help you like you always did" Mack said bluntly. "Wait where's mine?" She wondered only see blue, red, yellow and black.
"I can't find it" Tommy told his sister causing her to pout. "What time are you going to Mariner Bay?"
"In a hurry to get rid of me?"
"Why on earth would you think that?" Tommy spoke back with a grin.
"Oh i don't know just a feeling". Mack replied. "I leave in an hour. So are you nervous?"
"No" Tommy said a little too quickly. "No"
"Liar"
Conner walked over and stood next to Tommy who was tense. "Dr.O what's going on? your not proposing are you?"
Tommy looked down. "Oh dear god he is!" Conner exclaimed giving Ethan and high five.
"Okay enough. Yes i am tonight are you happy" He managed.
"Extremely" Kira laughed out. "Can i see the ring?"
Tommy felt his pockets. "I, uh" He stuttered ignoring the amused look from his sister. Mack rolled her eyes as she pushed a button on the desk. "There i knew i hid it there"
Mack walked over. "Yeah sure you did. I found it in the cabinet last night when i woke up to get water so i hid it here" Truth be told Mack was happy for him. Since Kim came back into his life he was different. The love they used to have together was even stronger.
"You three are going with her to Mariner Bay" Tommy said in a tone not to be argued with. "If anything happens i will send the raptors to come get you guys. Now get out"
"He's going to choke" Ethan laughed out.
"10 bucks?" Mack spoke.
"Your on" Ethan agreed as they walked out of the lab leaving Tommy alone. He looked down in amusement as Mack's dog River just barked.
"I will not choke". He told the puppy. "I won't" River returned to chewing on her toy.
Once upstairs Mack got ready. She walked to the door as the bell rang. "Ryan!" She yelled hugging him.
"Hey you" He greeted. "You guys ready to go?"
"Yeah lets go before Tommy throws us out" Mack told him urging them all out the door.
Mariner Bay...
"Wow i have never seen a carnival this huge" Kira said amazed as they walked through it.
"Yeah Kira it comes twice a year and stays for a week." Ryan told her. "Look you three have fun i am going to steal Mack for awhile"
They nodded knowing the two needed to talk. Ryan led her to the beach. He still had a limp from his surgery so Mack wrapped her arm around his waist. He could sense something was off with her as they sat down in the sand.
Truth be told Mack couldn't bring herself to tell him what happened but by the look he knew something was wrong since he could see the two brown eyes.
"Mack what's wrong?" He asked after a moment. "I know something is wrong"
"Same could be said about you. Ryan you haven't spoke to me in a week. You have no idea how much you scared me when i got the call you were hurt my world crumbled"
Ryan sighed but he knew he had to tell her. "After i left your house i was so angry. I felt the anger like i had when i was under Diabolico. On the way home i saw an old shack on fire. A young mother had told me her daughter was trapped. My mind went to what happened with you back then so i never hesitated i just ran in. I managed to get her out but the roof crumbled over me"
Mack linked her arm around his. "Ryan your a hero just like you were back then. But why avoid me?"
"I was ashamed. I guess in a way Kim was right. If i could feel that anger again so easily then what if i feel it again and Mesogog does find out my past then imagine what he would do with it".
"Ryan look at me" He did. "Its normal to be angry, Look what Kim did was wrong and she knows that. She now knows what you mean to me. Let us deal with Mesogog"
"Your turn. Mack your eyes are back to normal"
Mack turned away. "I lost my ninja powers. Well actually i gave them up"
Ryan's mouth dropped as she stood up. "Mack"
"Mesogog found Moya's brother and brought him back. He hurt Kim. I broke my vow to Moya to save her life. I couldn't live with myself if something had happened to her so i surrendered my powers to save her and kill Morbius. Ryan ever since she came back into Tommy's life he has been so happy. I didn't want him to lose that or her"
Ryan stood up. "So you took the coward's way out".
"Excuse me?" She whipped around.
"You heard me. Mack you have never gave up without a fight so now all of a sudden you just give up. All of the years i have known you Mack you hated that woman. She pushes me away so you decide to give up your powers to save her. I thought you would have been smarter than that"
Mack glared. "Yeah i could say the same for you." She didn't want to fight. "You didn't have to listen to know what Ryan she told me you wouldn't come around if she was there so if you want you can have that luxury. I am done with htis. I am not going to fight with you. if you want to be a coward and stay away like a child then so be it."
Ryan watched as she grabbed her bag. "Mack"
"I gave up my powers because Tommy is going to propose and i have known for awhile. All my life Tommy and Kim have always put me first ao for once its my turn to do something for them i thought you at least would understand." Was the last thing she said before she walked to the carnival to get her friends.
Mack found her three friends and decided to join them. Kira noticed she was alone. "Mack you okay?"
"Yeah lets just have some fun" Mack answered as Ryan stood up and walked to his truck. After they played a few games they each sat under a tree. Mack finished telling her friends how Ryan reacted.
"He said that? Man Mack thats rough" Ethan pointed out. "I wonder how Dr.O is doing?"
"You should use your link and cut in" Conner suggested. "So you know how is planning to do it?"
Mack out her cotton candy down. "I think he is taking her to the beach when the sun goes down. I helped him make a fruit tray last night"
They jumped as the crowd ran past them screaming. "Come on!" Conner urged. The four rangers ran to find Zeltrax and a monster. "Sorry but its the wrong time of year for a snowman!" Conner yelled noticing the monster looked like a snowman.
"Your not welcome in Reefside and your not welcome in Mariner Bay!" Mack spat. "Lets Finish this!"
"Dino Thunder! Power Up! HA!" They morphed.
Mack felt weird as her suit appeared. The others watched as purple lightning appeared around her. "Uh Mack?" Kira stuttered. "Your suit is white, its purple".
Mack looked down. "Okay this is weird".
"Rangers Icicle is the name now feel my freeze" He three ice daggers at them.
"Hey that was my element!" Mack yelled getting up from the ground. Icicle slammed him hands to the ground causing ice spikes to appeared under the rangers feet. "Oh did you rangers fall down!"
Cionner growled. "Come on" He rushed forward managing to land a kick to the enemy. Conner grunted as his ice claws hit his chest.
"Conner!" Ethan yelled helping him up. "Watch out!" Ethan warned as Icicle dove underground. "Where did he go?"
"Uh guys!" Kira managed. "We have a problem" They looked down as the ground beneath their feet because covered in ice. Kira and Mack went flying into the nearby lake as the monster appeared in front of them.
"No!" Conner yelled. They watched in horror as Kira landed in the water but managed to crawl out before the lake froze over.
"Guys!" They turned to see Tommy on his raptor. He jumped off. "Okay i don't have time for this!" Tommy growled. Tommy ran and flipped in the air landing his staff onto its chest.
Ethan was next. He ran and jumped from Tommy's back firing his blaster. Icicle growned.
"Kira you with me" Conner asked. Kira nodded. They both jumped into the air. Conner standing on Tommy's shoulders whie Kira got on Ethans.
"Brachio Staff! Enery orb!" A ball of energy formed as each ranger fired from their blasters casuing the orb to power up as it headed towards Icicle causing him to explode.
"All right!" They cheered. "Wait? Kira where's Mack?"
"I though she made it out and was with you Conner" She answered. "Oh god!" They ran to the ice covered lake. "Mack!"
Ryan heard Kira's yell as he drove by. He hopped out of his truck and ran over. "Kira! Kira what's wrong?"
"We were thrown into this lake, i thought she made it out before it was frozen over!" Kira responded as the ice melted revealing the lake.
"Mack!" Tommy yelled after he dove in and surfaced. "Ryan do you see her?"
Ryan surfaced after diving in. "No!"
"There!" Ethan yelled pointing to the far end. Ryan and Tommy swam over. Ryan dove under, he grabbed her under her arms and surfaced. Conner reached and pulled her out.
"She's freezing!" Connr exclaimed.
Tommy put his cheek to her mouth. "No come on!" He blew two breaths into her mouth.
Ryan began to pump her chest. Regret filling his heart at how harsh his words to her earlier. "Breathe!" He begged as Tommy gave her air. "Come on Mack i'm sorry"
Ryan pumped harder and blew out a breath as she coughed up water. "Easy" He whispered as she drew in air. Ryan helped her sit up. They each shared a glance of relief as she stood up on shaly legs. "Come on lets go to my house and get you warmed up, you to Kira"
Conner walked behind them with Tommy. "How did you get here so fast i thought you were back home?"
"I was, Icicle made an appearance there to. So i figured he would find you guys so i used my raptor to get here after he ruined my date" Tommy replied as Ryan helped Mack into his truck. "Ryan we'll walk you don't live far"
Later that night they were all sitting around Ryan's house. Well everyone but Mack who was on a secret mussion.
"Anyone know where she went?" Ethan asked as Ryan handed them each hot chocolate.
"No, she changed into sweats and said she had to run an errand" Ryan answered. "Speak of the little devil" He said with a grin as she entered after an hour of being gone.
Mack sent him a smile. "Tommy can i borrow you please?"
Tommy looked confused as he walked outside and down the path behind Ryan's house. Tommy looked into the clearing then to his sister at the sight in front ogf him. She had a huge blanket on the ground. A fire lit with lights hung from the trees. Kim was also sitting there.
"Mack what is this?"
Mack looked to the ground. "I heard you say your date got ruined so i put this together. Kim told me while we were here with Ryan when he got hurt how much she loved it out here so i texted her to meet you here to finish your date."
"You didn't have to"
"I know, i wanted to. Now go get your girl" She urged him. Tommy kissed her cheek and walked towards Kim. Mack turned when she heard a low growl. Conner and Ethan were sitting on their raptors. "Feel like spying?"
"You know it" Ethan said as he hopped off.
"Tommy your sweating and its not that hot" Kim pointed out. "Are you okay?"
"Me? yeah i'm fine" He stuttered feelimg the ring burning a hole in his pocket. Tommy took Kim's hand. "I know things haven't been going our way the past few years. Kim ever since i saw you in Angel Grove those months ago all the love i had and still have for you now ca,e rushing back. From the moment i laid eyes on you back in high school something told me we were meant to be togther"
Kim looked at him wiht a smile. "But the letter-"
"I don't care anymore. I know you had your reasons." He reached into his pocket. "Kimberly Hart Zordon brought us together all those years ago. Mack brought us together again so I'm asking. Kim will you marry me?" He opened the box.
Kim covered her mouth as one tear fell down her cheek. "Yes" She whispered.
Tommy cheered slipping the ring on her finger. He pulled her to her feet and spun her around. Tommy leaned in a kissed her.
"YES!" The teens yelled a little too loud causing the adults to jump. Mack stood back as her friends ran over to tell them how happy they were.
Tommy walked over to his sister. "You know if it wasn't for you this might not have happened"
And if i didn't give up my powers she wouldn't be alive to be here with you. Tommy i don't regret what i did. All i ever wanted was for you to be happy."
Tommy pulled his sister into his arms. "You have no idea how much i love you kiddo" They pulled apart.
Kim walked over. "Thank you for this" Kim whispered as Mack hugged her. Kim jumped as Tommy's raptor appeared behind her. "Come on handsome lets go home".
"Lets. Mack?" Tommy jumped on with Kim in front.
"You guys go, i will catch up" She told her brother. "i think you need to pull a Captain Mitchell and give us a day off"
Conner and Tommy shared a glance. "He gave his rangers a day off?" Kira blurted out.
"Thanks Mack" Tommy spoke in annoyance. .
"Anytime" She turned and walked back to the house and smiled as she heard the bickering between her friends and brother.
Once she got back to the house she noticed Ryan sitting on the couch. She pulled off his sweater he gave her after she changed from earlier and passed it to him. "Keep it. You loved it anyway everytime you came to visit".
She nodded and grabbed her bag. "Kim said yes i thought you should know". Mack walked to the door and opened it.
"Mack wait" Ryan called out. "Look its late and getting dark so since you still have a room here you can stay" Ryan hated feeling this awkward.
Mack looked at him and noticedthe puppy eyes. She knew he regretted what he said and it showed. "Tommy go ahead and go home i will stay".
"Okay see you tomorrow" Her brother replied using their link. Mack walked passed him and went to the room she called her own. She was feeling weird since she hasn't been to that room ever since her accident.
She walked into the room and plopped down on the bed. She squinted when she noticed a set of pj's hanging in the closet. They were purple with white hearts on them.
"I kept them here just in case. You wore them the last time you were here so i didn't have the heart to get rid of them" Ryan spoke softly from the doorway.
"I remember Tommy dropped me off a week after my 17th birthday. I had nothing to wear so you and Dana brought me shopping. It was the last time i was here. Almost a year." She sat down on the bed.
Ryan sat in front of her. "Mack i'm sorry. I got some bad news earllier this morning and i took it out on you"
"What happened?"
"Due to my injuryi have to take a desk job at the fire house" His voice sad. "The last thing i wanted to do was yell at you"
"I'm sorry to, but in a way you were rught i did act to fast with my ninja powers but i also knew it was the right thing to do".
"So we're good?"
Mack grinned. "Make me a chocolate brownie like you always do and drown it in chocolate sauce and sprinkles and we'll talk"
Ryan hit her head with a pillow causing her to laugh. "You got it". He got up and headed for the door.
"Ryan?"
"Yeah?"
"You might want to think about building another closet for me here because i might have let it slip that Tommy should give us a day off from ranger duty like your Dad did" She told him laying down.
Ryan laughed as he left the room. They were going to be alright.
