It happened when Anastasia was told that her step aunt is going out and won't be back till the morning. That gave her the opportunity to run away that very night. She waited till it got too quiet. That is when she made her escape for freedom.
She stowed away in buses, trucks and trains for her journey to freedom. Most of the time, she walked to keep anyone from following her trail. Then she reached the big apple, New York and she rested.
Her first step was to find shelter. She found shelter in a jiffy though. From a big box that held an enormous tv. Next she went to find some food. She found some food from the trash, the taste of goodness is still there. Then she went to her shelter and looked at the night sky.
She looked at the stars in the sky. She saw two of them twinkling in the night sky. She thinks two of them are her parents. She felt tears coming down in her eyes. She then made a wish in the sky. Her wish is that her life will change and she will have a comforting family.
Then she cried herself to sleep. What she doesn't know is that her life is about to change and her wish is about to come true.
