A/N: Alright, so this chapter is meant to be a continuation of Chapter Seven. But me being a bitch ass lazy fuck who is dealing with a lot of things right now, which includes personal matters, I decided that this will be easier. Yeah, it's just copy and paste crap, but it is easier for me to do. Enough with me complaining, let's get on with the chapter, shall we.

First Skirmish with the O'Driscolls
Arthur, John, Bill, Wendy, and Kieran were crouching at the edge of an overview. "The cabin's in the clearing down there." The O'Driscoll pointed out to them, seeing the structure that was a little distance away. "There'll be a bunch of fellers hiding out there too."
"Are these fellers armed?" Arthur asked.
"Armed. Drunk Wary of strangers." Kieran began to list off before seeing some men patrolling within the vicinity. This answered the outlaw's question. "Yup."
They silently watched three men, all in black and dark green attires, walking within the woods. Looking at the three made the young dragon slayer guess who they were. "So these are the O'Driscolls?"
Arthur wanted her to be quiet. But that doesn't mean he would respond albeit quietly despite her enhanced hearing. "Yes." The outlaw looked back at Kieran. "And Colm O'Driscoll?"
"Oh, he'll be holed up in this cabin." Kieran assured. "Ba passed out, boozed blind, likely as not."
Billy immediately saw three O'Drsiscoll boys nearby. "Over there, someone's coming." Everyone went silent and began overhearing the conversation.
"So uh, who's gonna tell him we ain't got nothing for the pot?" One of the O'Driscolls asked with a heavy musical accent.
"Uh…" One of them uttered. Kieran was freaked out when one of them looked at their direction, but John put a hand over his mouth to prevent him from giving away their position, which didn't help as he put a revolver near his head. "Feller that spooked the game, I reckon."
The third one really needed to go on a break. "I'm gonna drain it. I-I'll catch up."
The second seemed to be unconvinced to what the other said. "Nah, we ain't gonna fall for that…" He and the first were not too far where the third was about to relieve himself in one of the dead trees. "We're gonna wait, so you can tell him yourself."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah…" The third acknowledged and began to pass water, which was clearly heard by Wendy as the liquid was touching the tree log.
As the last O'Driscoll was busy, the two remaining began conversing. "If anyone's actually gonna shoot the messenger it'd be that mean sin of a bitch."
"Umm…yes sir." The second nodded before looking at the other guy.
Seeing the three looking away, Arthur gestured to the others to stealthy approach the cabin. "Shh, come on."
"What we're doing about the pisser, Morgan?" Bill quietly asked. "One by the tree."
"I'm gonna deal with the first feller." He told them as he sneakily walked away with a knife on hand while the others were waiting for his next command. He quietly approached the distracted O'Driscoll, before readying himself as he stabbed the man at the back and put a hand on his mouth to muffle his scream. After killing the man, he slowly dropped the body to the ground and looked over to the rest. "He's done."
Seeing their queue to leave. John looked over to Kieran. "Now stay here, don't you damn move." He looked over to Wendy. "And you, stay with him to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid."
Wendy quickly nodded at him. "Sure."
Once John and Bill caught up to Arthur, the latter then spoke. "Morgan. The next two…" He was referring to the remaining patrol guards. "What's the plan?"
"Keep back where they won't hear us." Arthur responded, readying his throwing knife with the gruff man doing the same. "When I move, you move. Take 'em out at a distance." And when they were, both him and Bill threw their throwing knife onto the back of their skulls, killing them instantly.
"Good work." John praised as they were approaching their destination. "We moving on the camp? I left our guide up there with that dragon slayer kid. He's meek as a little lamb."
"He better be." Arthur hoped since Wendy was with him.
The three approached a log where they were approaching an O'driscoll sitting on the back. "Over here. Feller on the log… what we doing about him?"
Since Athur and Bill and their kills, it was the other man's turn to have one. He looked over to John. "Take him quiet, Marston."
"Okay." John spoke as he had a hunting knife in his hand and approached the O'Driscoll from behind.
"Get you hands dirty for a change." The older outlaw dryly commented. He only silently watched John as he put a hand on the enemy's mouth and stabbed him multiple times without showing a sign of sloppiness. Arthur can't help but to mutter to what he saw. "Jesus."
A few minutes later, after Arthur silently disposed two more, he regrouped with John and Bill behind a fallen log. All had their guns ready as they were about to firing a lot of bullets into the O'Driscolls, who were being accompanied by multiple women. "Alright. On three, we fire onto them by surprised."
"Got it/noted." Both John and Bill nodded at his command. All of them exposed themselves before firing to their enemies. This surprised them as they were gunned down with a strike of a matchsticks. Even the women were not safe in all of this.
Seeing the O'Driscolls get shot like that raised the alarm. "Man at the camp! MAN AT THE CAMP!" One of them remaining shouted as they opened fire towards the three Van Der Linde's gang members. Luckily, they managed to avoid the gunshots and managed to shoot some down. Arthur took the most kills as he headshot three with his Cattleman Revolver before ducking behind another log for cover.

Without a second, Arthur already came up with a plan. "John. You flank left. Bill, you go right. I go straight. Do you understand?" Both of them nodded back to him before they enacted his command. While doing so, Arthur threw an insult to his enemies before headshotting one. "Run and hide, if you know what's good for you!"
Back to where Kieran and Wendy were, the latter can't help but gulp at the sight she was seeing. Three men. That all it took to kill all of these O'Driscolls without the use of magic. "This…This is how they deal with their enemies?" She uttered.
Kieran looked at her direction and heard her voice was that of being uncomfortable. He was wondering why. "You're surprised at how? Ain't, you got this magic thing I keep hearing about from another world?"
The young dragon slayer looked back at him. "No, I don't." She had to do a double take to how he knows about. It was then she remembered he may have been overhearing her conversation with the rest of the Van Der Linde Gang members the night before. Just then, she heard footsteps coming behind Kieran. "Mr. Kieran, behind you!"
Kieran turned around just in time to see an O'Driscoll walking behind them. His eyes were widened as the other man had a revolver pointed at their position. Yet, right as he was about to pull his trigger, Wendy rushed in and lunged herself to tackle the man, disarming him in the progress. Luckily, the O'Driscoll's revolver landed near him.
"Oh, you little shit!" The O'Driscoll muttered as he punched Wendy on the cheek, making her wince in pain and lessen her weight onto him. Right he was about to pull a knife out, he was shot on the head, making him lie on the ground with a bullet hole seen on the right side of his forehead.
Wendy was breathing uncontrollably as she immediately got away from the body and looked at Kieran. "Was that really necessary?!" She asked.
Kieran quickly realized what he did and apologized to her. "Oh, sorry! I didn't realize you were still there."
The younger girl seemed to still be bothered by what happened. Immediately after, she regained her bearings and let out a breath. "It…doesn't matter right now." She let out a few sniffs. Despite smelling fresh blood and gunpowder, her enhanced smell could tell something isn't right. "What does this Colm smell like?"
"Why are you asking?" The former O'Driscoll Boys member asked.
The young dragon slayer looked back at him. "I was wondering if he is really here."
Back to where the three Van Der Linde Gang members were, they were doing fairly well against the O'Driscolls despite being outmatched. Bill aimed his Bolt Action Rifle at one of them before firing a shot, which killed them upon the bullet penetrating the top of his skull. "Die, you drunk idiots!"
Next was Arthur. He took cover behind a dead tree log and ducked out to fire at another in the head. Seeing the body, he threw another taunt to them as the O'Driscolls were retreating back. ""Give up, O'Driscolls. We got you beat!"
Despite the other gang's numbers dwindling, backup eventually came as they made their presence within the vicinity. "Some of them coming back to camp." John warned the two members. "Watch out!"
Arthur took a quick observation and immediately ducked behind a boulder for cover. Once the newly arrived O'Driscolls recklessly running while firing blindly, he quickly dispatched four with a single shot of his Cattleman Revolver. "You stay here, you're dead men!" He commented to the dead bodies before loading new cartridge into his weapon.
John, although was sloppy, proved to be useful with his Carbine Repeater. He immediately shot an O'Driscoll in the head before ducking behind a flipped-over wagon. "You seem them coming? We catch you unawares?"
"We caught 'em on the drinks!" Bill replied sarcastically.
Only seconds went by and the O'Driscolls were dwindling, leaving only a handful left. John can't help but to make a comment to their rival gang's spot. "This is quite a hideout!" After shooting the remaining fighters, the camp no longer had the presence of the O'driscoll Boys despite some managing to escape. Again, he uttered another remark to what had occurred. "That's it. They're turning tails!"

Arthur thought it would be better to leave the retreaters alive. "Leave 'em. Colm's still there." Seeing the Cabin right in front of him, the veteran outlaw glanced at the two. "I'll check. You look out here."
Seeing no more O'Driscolls left, Arthur proceeded to sprint to the front of the cabin. Once he reached the front door, he stopped to catch a few breaths before proceeding to head in. Right as he was about to open the door, it immediately slammed onto him, , making him fall into the backside of the porch. He didn't have the reaction time of pointing his revolver at another O'Driscoll, who pointed a Repeater onto his head while letting a laughter. Before the enemy could fire, he was immediately shot onto his stomach, which made him clutch his side before falling down and instantly died. Arthur was surprised by this. He put his head down on the porch and looked up to see Kieran, who had a Revolver with him.
"You alright?" The former O'Driscoll member asked while holstering his revolver.
"Sure." Arthur dryly responded. "Thank you." He immediately got up and scanned the interior of the building while aiming his revolver. In much of his disappointment, the main target was not there. "Colm O'Driscoll…he ain't here." He turned around and immediately made accusation to the former O'Driscoll member. "You set us up." He walked out of the cabin and shouted at the other man." Come here."
Kieran can't help but to feel nervous and confused at the man's attitude. "What?"
"You set us up." Arthur repeated his blame.
"No, I didn't," The former O'Driscoll member spoke.
"You did." Arthur insisted while aiming his Revolver at him. "Colm O'Driscoll ain't here…"
"He was here, I swear," Kieran spoke being on the verge of a nervous breakdown. "I sw…"
"Arthur, wait!" Arthur saw Wendy going in front of the other man with her arms spread out.
Luckily, he didn't have an itchy trigger finger. Though that doesn't mean he is going to shoot the former O'Driscoll member. "Outta way, kid!"
This didn't make the young dragon slayer do as he said and stared firmly at him. "If Mr. Kieran set us up, we would have been captured right now!"
The other man was glad to hear this despite the young girl being a new outlaw. "Yeah! Like what she said, if I set y-you up, then I-I wouldn't have saved your life."
Right before Arthur was about to fire, Bill and John came into view with the former walking to his side. "It's a good point, Arthur."
It only took the veteran outlaw a few seconds to lower his revolver. Though that didn't make him break out of his disdain mindset. "Alright then, go on, get out of here!"
"Eh?" Kieran spoke.
"I wont kill ya." Arthur spoke with his voice being unfiltered of bitterness.
"I didn't set you up." He continued to speak while protesting on his innocence.
"Get lost!"
"Get lost!"
Hearing him repeating his words, Arthur grabbed Kieran by the shoulder. "I'm letting you run away…" He harshly spoke before throwing him to the side. "no go on, get out of here."
Kieran felt as though Arthur was ungrateful for saving his life. "That's as good as killing me." "He pointed to the other side. "Out there… without you… Colm O'Dariscoll's gonna lose his mind about this."
"So?" Arthur spoke.
"So, I'm one of you now." Kieran responded back.
Wendy would agree with him there. "That's true, Arthur. Please, don't put all the blame onto him."
This made Arthur put his hand on his mouth before scratching his beard. "Give me a break." The older outlaw muttered silently, which Wendy could clearly hear, before gesturing to the other man. "Alright then." He walked up to Kieran, who was retreating backwards. "But I'm warning you…"
"Oh, I know…" the former O'Driscoll member said with confidence.
Arthur passed by Kieran with John, Bill, and Wendy following suit. "Come on, let's get back to camp."
"So you got the cash, then?"
This made the three outlaws stop in their tracks. Arthur turned his head around and looked at him. "What cash?"
That grabbed all attention as they were looking at Kieran. Rather than feeling nervous, Kieran was once again confident. "Yeah, there's usually some cash in the chimney." He walked up to the porch and was about to head in.
"I'll check it." Arthur spoke before walking to where Kieran was. He glanced at his brothers-in-arms. "Rest of you get to the camp, quick."
Kieran walked to where the three stood and can't help but to make a comment. "See Arthur, I ain't so bad."
"Hey Bill…" Arthur looked back at the gruff individual. "You tell Dutch, old Kieran ain't worth killing… just yet." Right as he was about to enter, he needed to say something to the young dragon slayer. "And Wendy…" Said dragon slayer looked at him, who stared at her in the eyes.
"You did good out there despite not killing. But I have to say this, sooner or later you have to kill someone to survive. It's either us or them." The young girl can't help but feel disheartened upon hearing that. Arthur didn't sugarcoat his words and did not care if Wendy came from another world where magical, power-of-friendship scenarios could occur. As long as she abide by their rules of being an outlaw. "Now, go with John and Bill back to camp. And make sure that O'Driscoll ain't going to do anything."

A/N: Well, Wendy's first outlaw task seemed to gone well. Despite not having to resort killing. Though, I hate to break it to you. She is going to kill someone very soon. I won't say when, but it'll be revealed soon. Now then, next chapter will be a fun and exciting one as it involves her with two Van Der Linde Gang members off their heads at a certain place in Valentine. Other than that, give me constructive criticism that went wrong here so I can improve next time.
