RECAPPING.

Bobby couldn't help but feel bad for the castle maid, Sayaka. For he knew she and Runa had to have been very close friends for her to miss her so much. It reminded him of his mother's friends back home in New York City. He could only imagine how devastated they had been when his Mom was killed by a drunk driver, as he was only 5 years old at the time she was taken from him and his Dad. His mind wasn't fully developed at that point to process or comprehend the fact that his mother was gone for good. He knew she had died, and that was awful, but he hadn't fully understood the definition of death, that it was a permanent thing, and that it meant his mother was gone forever and was never coming back.

He wondered how all of his mother's family and friends were doing today. How had they handled her death? How had they managed to cope with the fact that they were never going to see her or hear her voice ever again? Had they managed to cope with it at all? He didn't know. He hadn't seen or heard from any of them since his mother's funeral. And that was over five years ago. But it felt like only yesterday. Hopefully they all eventually found peace and were able to move on with their lives like he had, which was more than he could say for his father. The man was still mourning the loss of his wife, even after all this time, that was why he drank so much. Perhaps he figured if he drank a lot, he would drown his sorrow over his wife's death. Maybe that was why he was so mean to Bobby and beat him up whenever he was drunk or sober. He was a constant reminder of what his Dad had lost and why he was the way he was. Yeah, he guessed that made sense. It excuse it, but it made sense.

Then...there was Raya's father. Chief Benja seemed to be showing signs of recovering from the loss of his wife, which was very good for him, Raya and the people of Heart, and she couldn't have been happier for him. After all, happy Dad, happy life. Happy leader, happy people. Although, Bobby did wonder what Raya was about to tell Sayaka before Benja interrupted and walked into her room.

Getting back into the story, Bobby turned to the next page. "Chapter 5: The Celebration". He thought, reading silently. "The ballroom of the palace was filled with the people of Heart and the attendees of the other four countries, who were all Asian, talking among themselves and surprisingly friendling towards each other for a change."
