The sun was nowhere to be seen, the grey clouds covering the warm sunlight, making the air quite cold. The breeze made Amy shiver, she then wore her denim jacket over her black spaghetti strap crop top.
"Huh, it looks like it's gonna rain today." Amy mumbled.
Amy didn't mind getting wet in the rain but still brought an umbrella. Her mind trailing on how this hang out sounds more like a date to be honest. A sudden gust of wind blew to her, making her skirt whirl up with the wind, she quickly put her skirt down in reaction at the sudden gust of wind. A blue hedgehog stood infront of her.
"Oh, Sonic! Didn't see ya there," Amy was surprised at the sudden appearance of the speedster in front of her.
"Hey Ames, didn't mean to scare ya there!" Sonic said with slight guilt trailing on his voice.
"It's alright! So where are we heading?" Amy reassured the blue blur.
"Before we go, have this." Sonic said as he tucks a yellow flower on Amy's ear, making the pink hedgehog's cheeks a shade of pink.
"Oh, heh.. thanks." Amy said, with a nervous smile on her face.
"Let's go, I have a place in mind where we should eat." Sonic said.
"Is it ok if I carry you again? This destination is kinda far." Sonic asked.
"A—,uhm.. sure! Uhm… I hope I'm not too heavy for you," Amy said as her cheeks grew slightly red.
"Oh don't worry——," nudging her lightly at her side, "——you're pretty light to be honest," Sonic reassured the pink girl infront of him.
"A—ah good, nice to know… I-I guess," Amy replied in embarrassment.
Sonic hummed in acknowledgement, he then lifted Amy off her feet, carrying her bridal style. Amy silently squeaked in surprised, clutching her un-opened umbrella in her arms. Sonic then giggled at the sound Amy made.
Sonic then began to run to their destination. As Sonic ran to their destination, "I think it'll be raining today," Amy sighed in disappointment, as she then look up at the grey clouds covering the blue sky. Sonic then slowed down and looked up, seeing the grey clouds.
"Huh your right… sh/t— I didn't brought an umbrella," Sonic muttered.
"Well if it did rain, we could share this umbrella I have," Amy said, clutching the umbrella tightly. Sonic then looked down at the umbrella Amy was holding.
"Thank Chaos you have an umbrella, I don't really like getting wet." Sonic then shivered at the thought.
"So you don't take showers? Ew gross," Amy said, sticking her tongue out jokingly.
"Hey, I didn't mean it like that!" Sonic defended.
"You did say you didn't like getting wet, sooo…Well speaking of wet, I actually don't really mind getting wet by rain. I don't know why, but it looks calming, and fun dancing in the rain but people will probably just look at me weird just out in the rain!" Amy said quietly, trying to laugh it off.
"That.. seems fun?" Sonic said with a slight smirk on his face. Sonic then suddenly stopped, "we're here." Sonic then gently puts down Amy. Her feet landed on the concrete floor. She then looked around and noticed the familiar street. They were at Seaside city! Amy shocked that they were here in mere minutes. She spoke, "Were at Seaside city?!!"
"Yep!" He shortly said.
"We're gonna hang out here?!" She squealed, eyes sparkled with happiness. He smiled at her cute reaction, oh how she made him feel weak.
Sonic then spoke, "Yes, but were not just here for the fun activities, we're also here for—" he gestured his beside them. She was slightly confused and followed where his hands gestured to.
She then looked up to see a small restaurant beside them. "Y-you're taking me to a r-restaurant!??" Amy said, surprised; her mouth hung open.
"I didn't know that the great Sonic the Hedgehog would take me to a nice restaurant, AND being a gentleman!" Amy said aloud jokingly, making the blue speedster chuckled at her comment.
"It's really great that you're boosting my already high ego, merci beaucoup, mademoiselle." Sonic said as he held out his hand, and slightly bowed. Amy then took his offer, while she rolled her eyes at Sonic's gesture, and walked inside the restaurant. The two then sat down at a table that was close to a window, the outside world seemed pretty dull and slightly dark as the grey clouds silently sat still. A petite firefly waitress then walked up to the two and gave them their menus.
"Hello ma'am and sir, I'll be your waitress for today, name's Gabi. I'll be back with you two lovebirds later when you two have your orders?" The petite firefly then did a slight bow,
"We—were not … a couple." Amy said quietly. Before Gabi could hear the pink hedgehog, she then walked away.
"Pfft—, I can't believe that someone assumed us to be a couple." Sonic snorted, leaving a wide goofy grin. For Sonic, it actually felt nice that someone had called them a couple. It felt right. Oh what was he thinking!? Sonic shoved the thought away.
Amy on the other hand was embarrassed, her face was slightly pink; while Sonic had a slight blush on his cheek with a small smirk on his face.
"Yeah, I'll never date a guy like you to be honest. You're too… how could I say this nicely?" Amy said, a tinge of guilt arise from her throat.
"Ouch, Ames!" Sonic acted hurt, clutching his shirt.
"I-I didn't mean it to be offensive." Amy defended herself. Swaying her hands.
"Nah, it's alright."
"S—o-o?" Sonic pulling the 'o' longer.
"Mmmmm..." Amy squinted her eye's. Trying to not say anything offensive.
"Don't worry, tell me! I won't bite."
Amy sighed and said, "Egotistical, and so…." She looked at Sonic, his green eyes shined, even through the dim light from the window beside them. 'And...so handsome—.' Amy thought, but replied, "...and, sooOooOoOo ugly." She continued, jokingly making a barf face.
"Hey! You were looking at me longingly, you think I'm pretty attractive, huh?"
"What? Ew, no." Amy snorted.
"Hahaha,— well we should probably order something now." Sonic then looked at the menu even though he would usually eat one thing on their menu.
"Hmm, these look nice." Amy commented on the menu's list of food. Making Amy's stomach grumble.
"Well you should try their chilli dogs, they are just the best!" Sonic recommended. He then puts his menu down to look at Amy.
"Well, I'll take your word for it, I guess I'm getting one then." Amy replied.
"Good." Sonic said, as the waiter from earlier then stood in front of them.
"So what'll it be, you two lovers?" The firefly spoke, with a pen and paper in hand.
"Oh, uhm…we're not—." Sonic said, as he eyed Amy, her looking slightly nervous and slightly cringing but keeping a warm smile on her face.
"O my gosh, I am so sorry for assuming, you guys look so good together to be honest." Gabi's cheeks started to grew a bit red in embarrassment. Anxiety now filling her.
"Well we're just friends." Amy blurted.
"Well,uhm.. so sorry again, but what'll be your orders for you two?" The petite girl, now guilty and anxious about the conversation. Slight awkwardness was filling the air.
"Oh, then I'll get 4 chilli dogs." Sonic replied.
"And I'll get the mushroom carbonara." Amy continued.
"Ok, so all in all 4 chilli dogs and 1 mushroom carbonara?" The firefly asked for confirmation. The two nodded, and Gabi walked off with their orders.
"Well that was pretty awkward." Sonic tried laughing it off.
"Yeah, true… So, 4 chilli dogs? Isn't that a lot?" Amy asked the blue blur, trying to clear the awkward feeling.
"Well I do have a high metabolism because of my speed, if that makes any sense." Sonic grinned.
"Heh kinda."
"You're not trying the chilli dogs?"
"Oh I assumed that I could— nevermind."
"You can have some of mine if you'd like?"
"I'd be delighted."
"Good, cause I swear that those chilli dogs are amazing!"
"Well it better be! Now then, erm...let's start with some icebreakers."
"I-Icebreakers?" He cocked up his eyebrow in curiosity.
"Yeah, they're like questions you ask someone to know them better, y'know?"
"Ahh, well then, ask away."
"What's your job?"
"Well, I work at G.U.N . I usually capture the bad guys because..y'know...super speed, and some classified stuff that i can't tell you." He says.
"Ahh.. that's where Rouge works.. right?"
"Yep, that's where i met her actually."
"OoooO.. hows work like?"
"Well its kinda is but sometimes it just gets boring, when waiting for some missions. But over all it's pretty fun."
"Now your turn Amy Rose." He said pointing to her.
"M-me?" Amy coughed.
"Yeah you, kinda unfair if you're the only one who could ask questions all night." He gave her a smirk.
"Well—…Ok, fine...the question?" She sighed.
"Have you dated anyone before? You sometimes look pretty lonely, and that's why dating is a thing. You know?"
"Wow thanks for calling me lonely Mr. Sonic T. Hedgehog, such a gentleman,—" Sonic snorted at the comment, "——but, nope I haven't dated anyone...I never really met anyone special yet...to ..date..y'know? Aaha...I guess you could call me lonely then." Amy looked down at the table white table cloth. 'You are that special someone' Amy said in her mind, hoping that someday she would find the courage to tell him.
Sonic was surprised the pink quilled hedgehog in front of him that she had never dated anyone..well he did know that she never had a boyfriend before, but he never thought that she had never dated anyone before.
"Huh I guess we both haven't met anyone that just click, lonely Amy Rose. Single gang," Sonic said playfully.
"Ahaha! Single gang!" Amy playfully said. "Guess I could also call you lonely too." She jokingly rolled her eyes, as she grinned at her friends comment.
"Hey!... I guess it's fair. Ok next—
"Your turn! ahem... so what is your perspective on dating now, like how do you feel about romance and the mushy stuff." She asked him eagerly.
"Hello, these are your orders." The firefly spoke as she served the two hedgehogs food. "Have a nice meal." Gabi then nodded and walked away.
Amy looked down at their delicious meals, and saw Sonic's plate, where four chili dogs sat.
"Ooh~ yours looks delicious!" Amy said, looking at Sonic's plate.
"Yes, they're the best! You wanna try some now?" Sonic then took a chili dog off his plate and handed it to Amy, as he tried to persuade Amy to take a bite. Amy gladly took the chili dog off of Sonics fingers and then took a bite, now nibbling on the piece she ate. Her eyes sparkled at how amazing the taste of the chili dog was and took another bite. Sonic giggled in Amy's reaction, "You look so cute when you did that reaction." Sonic accidentally muttered out loud. Sonic eyes widen, when he accidentally said it out loud. Praying to dear chaos that Amy heard nothing. "Hm? Did you say something?" Amy asked the boy in front of her. "Ah, I said that you seem to enjoy that chili dog," Sonic said nervously grinned at her, his cheeks slightly growing a shade of pink.
"Well I did enjoy it! If I ever dine here again, I'll buy this instead!" Amy said.
"Heh, I'm such a great influence." Sonic said proudly.
"If you ever have a child, the first thing it will probably say is f*ck or sh*t ." Amy snickered.
"Ha! I'll take that as a complement and if I ever did that I'll probably make it an achievement." Sonic smiled.
"...Im not commenting on that," Amy said as she looked away from Sonic. Sonic laughed at Amy's response.
"You know, I'm probably gonna be a great father!" He exclaimed.
"I'd probably be a much greater parent than you."
"I'd probably agree on you there." Sonic answered. Amy hummed in response.
"Hmm, You got anymore questions in mind?" Sonic asked.
"Hmm.. well, I do have some."
The two then trailed off with more questions, as they ate their meals; the two knowing each other much more.
.
~After dinner, 6:58 pm~
.
The two hedgehogs left the restaurant, paying for their great and delicious meals.(duh no shit-) The both of them laughing as they left the restaurant,
"I—I can't believe that knucklehead would do something that stupid?!" Amy exclaimed, trying not to laugh harder.
"Y-yeah, he's pretty dumb." Sonic laughed. (/pos, )
"Hahaha… well that was a great dinner, but never thought that the blue blur would be scared of water." She nudged the side of his arm.
"Well I couldn't believe you like horror movies, what's wrong with you?" Sonic narrowed his eyes as he stared at Amy.
"Well it is one of the best movie genres ever, well second is Romance. But still, scared of horror movies?" Amy asked the blue speedster beside her as they walked down the sidewalk.
"No I'm not." Sonic defended, as he averted his gaze away from Amy.
"Oho~ he is!" She exclaimed, as she shook Sonic's arm back and forth.
"Ughh, you're so annoying Ames." He then pulled his arm out of Amy's grasp and his put hand on top of Amy's head.
They then went to some shops and bought matching keychains for each other. The two talked more about their interests and hobbies, and their life. The two decided that they should go home and walk, Amy insisted they should walk a bit more before going home. The two then felt water dripping down their heads. It was raining.
"Oh, here comes the rain. Ugh, I should have not insisted to walk a bit more," Amy said, looking up to see no stars but dark clouds covering the night sky.
"Hey it's alright Ames, I actually enjoyed your company. But I guess we, now, really have to walk home," Sonic said with a slight annoyance in his voice.
"Pretty much." Amy confirmed.
"Ugh why did it have to rain today." Sonic said, annoyed at the drizzling rain.
Amy then opened her umbrella and lifted her arm to fit the slightly taller blue hedgehog. Her toes were slightly tipped so the umbrella won't bump into Sonic's head. Sonic then insisted to hold the umbrella; as he grabbed the umbrella's handle with his right hand, as Amy was on his left. He then pulled Amy close to him, with his free left hand, so she wouldn't get wet by the falling water droplets from the sky. Amy was surprised by the sudden gesture from Sonic, she then let out a small squeak and instinctively placed her hand on Sonic's chest and another hand clutching his brown leather jacket trying to keep her balance. Sonic's eyes widened as he felt a hand on top of his chest, he then looked down at Amy, her hand on his chest; his cheeks then flushed pink at the pink hedgehog's action, making him look away from her. Amy felt her hand land on something and looked at her hand's direction, as it was placed on Sonic's chest making her flushed red and her ears flatten in embarrassment.
"I—uhm.. I am so sorry S-Sonic!!"
She then quickly pulled her hand away from his chest, but when her hand was not on Sonic's chest anymore, she suddenly craved the feeling of Sonic's bare chest, oh god hormones. She then shook off her hand to stop the heat she was feeling on her hand that touched his chest.
"I-It's alright Ames." He muttered, still facing away from her face. His muzzle is still quite pink from the action.
The feeling the both hedgehog's were having was new to them, the two not knowing what to do, and both stayed silent.
They silently walked, while the drizzling rain fell down from the sky. The only thing they could hear was the soft pitter patter of the raindrops falling. And their wet steps from the wet pavement.
The rain dripping down, the sound of their shoes hitting the ground as it sometimes splashes on water, and mobians talking distantly from the two friends, and it was the sounds they could hear apart from the loud and awkward silence in the air. (Love wasn't in the air atm, smh.)
Sonic looked out in the distance and saw the raindrops piter-pater on the concrete ground, he suddenly remembered something that the pink hedgehog, beside him, told him about earlier.
he started, "The rain looks pretty to dance around it."
Sonic remembering what Amy said earlier that day, breaking the very awkward atmosphere surrounding the two.
She looked longingly at the rain in front of the them and looked back at Sonic. Sonic thought for a second, and made a decision that would make the girl's day,
He lowered the umbrella and closed it, their quills getting wet and clothes getting soggy. He held the umbrella on his right hand and puts it down on the hard and wet concrete floor.
He now extended his left hand and asked the pink hedgehog, "Hey Ames, would you like to have a dance with me?"
Amy's eyes sparkled, as she then grinned from ear to ear. The rose behind her ear now getting wet. Amy then took Sonic's hand, and lightly squeezed her hand. He then pulled Amy at the empty road, the two were now standing in the middle of the road. He then pulled Amy closer to his chest.
He placed his other hand on her waist cautiously, Amy understood on where her freehand should go and placed it on top of Sonic's shoulder. They then began to move slowly. Stepping back and forth and Sonic occasionally gracefully twirling Amy slowly. The rain continue to water them.
The two hedgehogs with wide grins plastered on their faces. Everything felt so right, like time had stopped just for them, making the two hedgehogs never wanting to leave their embrace.
Amy then placed her head on Sonics chest, her hands were now around Sonic's neck and his hands wrapped around Amy's waist, she could even hear the blur's faint sound of his heartbeat. It was like a dream for her, her first crush holding her dearly.
...It was damn... romantic alright.
Her cheeks flushed into a magenta color. Good thing her head laid on his chest, not being able to see her face. But oh, she pleaded that it wasn't a dream that she could just wake up into. Amy wanted it to never end.
Amy then nuzzled on Sonic's neck. Sonic blushed at the her sudden action, he could feel the clod wetness of her nose. Sonic in the other hand, was stunned at Amy's sudden actions. A red color spread across his muzzle, he hoped Amy wouldn't just look up at him to see his now red face.
The two swayed back and forth, their arms embracing one another. The rain had slightly stop but it was still drizzling. Amy was about to part ways from Sonic's gentle grip but slipped on the wet concrete road, falling from behind. Sonic quickly catched Amy before she could fall from the ground, his right hand interlocked with Amy's left hand and his left was on Amy's waist. Their faces were inches apart. Making their eyes bulge in embarrassment. The two blushed at how close they were, feeling both of their breathes brush against their cheeks. Amy then stood up straight, grasping away from the blur. Sonic was flabbergasted that HE almost kissed her!!
"I-I am so sorry about that." Amy said apologetically. Still blushing vigorously.
"Nahh, it..it's alright Ames." He said, nervously scratching the back of his neck, facing away from the pink quilled lady in front of him.
"We should...probably go home now. It's getting a bit late, y'know?" Amy suggested. She would love to spend more time with Sonic, but she doesn't wanna force him to or just make things more awkward.
"Yeah we should." Sonic said, walking to the sidewalk then grabbing the umbrella that was laying on the wet concrete floor, he then opened the umbrella once again and putting it over their heads to prevent them from getting more soaking wet.
"I'll carry you home. Where do you live anyways?" He insisted.
"I-..uhm.. it's alright to be honest. I could walk by myself and get a bus to drive me back!" She nervously chuckled.
"Nope, I'll carry you home if you like it or not." Sonic said in a 'I-am-not-gonna-go-anywhere-until-you-say-yes' kind of voice.
"You're not gonna leave me are you? Even if I didn't tell you where I live, huh?" Amy then looked at the blue hedgehog beside her right.
"Yep." Sonic said, his lips forming a smirk.
"Ugh! Fine let's go," Amy said, crossing her arms. Her cheeks slightly blushing.
Sonic then closed the umbrella pecks of raindrops kissed their already wet quills, good thing the rain had already calmed down. He then scooped Amy on his arms, bringing her close to his chest. A magenta color blush crept into Amy's muzzle. "Hold on tight as you are now boarding the Sonic Express!" Sonic said in glee.
"Chaos, now you have a name for carrying me?" She jokingly said, a smile was placed on her slightly flushed muzzle.
"Hmm.. yeah, just for you." He said with no hesitation, giving her a wink. Her muzzle flushed pink, she quickly turned away from the blue boys face. Sonic then realized what he'd done, and oh god.. his cheeks started to flush a bright red. "Ahaha..ahem... let's get going." He said trying to cover up what he just said. The blue blur then dashed off.
They skid to a stop on the train station. He then placed her down. There were just a few people in the stop, as it was the last train that was gonna be in operation at that night.
"Thanks for a great night...I really had fun!" She smiles. It was a fun day. She looked directly into his green eyes.
Sonic nodded his head, "it was my pleasure." He smiled back.
Just then the announcement that the train will be leaving shortly.
Amy looked back on the train and to him. Amy said, "I'll be going now...thanks again!"
Amy stepped in the trains doors. She looked down at her feet. Then looking back over her shoulder to see him lightly waving a goodbye. She shouldn't...but the force of doing it was palpable.
So she slowly turns. Before she knew it, she ran to him again. Sonic did't register what she was about to do. But then he felt her hands wrap around his neck, pulling him down, her lips and his crashing to each other. An explosion of fireworks went off. His heart started to beat faster. Her lips against his was such a nice pure feeling. He then wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her deeper in the kiss. He kissed her back. And as she reluctantly pulls away, out of breath. She just smiled at him. And said a soft goodbye, walking back in the trains doors before it closes. He couldn't help but reach on his lips, still feeling the softness that cane contact just moments ago. He looks up waving another small goodbye. She giggles, waving back at him before the train starts to move.
The train picked up momentum and sets off to its destination. He stood at the empty train station. He felt good. He bit his lip. He looked up, sighing. Damn. He really had fallen head over heals over her.
