Chapter 6 The snap
Tony's point of view
Pepper and I were upstairs in bed, she needed some quiet time after watching the memories of her ordeal at the hands of Killian. She was napping, I was watching a movie with the sound coming through my headphones.
All of a sudden, the entire island of Manhattan began to shake violently. Pepper awoke with a yelp…
"J uncover the end window, just enough so that I can see what's going on"
"Of course sir"
"An enormous donut shaped spaceship was hovering over the Stark Tower. Rogers and his goons were 500 feet below trying to stop whatever was happening, but they were too late.
The ship descended and parked itself by the foot of Stark Tower. Pepper and I reluctantly moved downstairs to the living room where everyone else was gathered.
A purple alien got off, his henchmen had tied Rogers and the others up. He said
"Tony Stark, you and your associates blew up my Chitauri army… I have come to seek vengeance…. You have one hour to comply. Come down here and face me like a man, or it will be the world that reaps the consequences." I saw Strange handing over the Time Stone and I looked away in disgust. Jay had been trying to persuade the Committee on the management of the Sokovia Accords that we needed to help but they had declined…
"Tony, this is very dangerous… he has the Infinity Stones… ALL of them" said Bruce.
"I'm not coming down there. I'm not afraid of you… but I'm still not coming down there because I know it's a trap. None of us are stupid enough to go down there and take a pounding from you… also none of us are foolish enough to breach the accords "
An hour later, Thanos's voice boomed out again
"Stark. Since you have refused to comply… the world will now reap the consequences"
"Bring on the consequences"
"I've told you before Stark… I am inevitable"
SNAP
There was an enormous flash of brilliantly white lightning across the sky and an earth-shaking bang.
A high, cold, cruel laugh rang out and in a trice, people began to disappear. Randomly and indiscriminately, and very rapidly they turned to ash. I felt Pepper's grip on me tighten, and I reciprocated. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the same surreptitious movement between my parents.
