15 hours later...

I sat there beside Luna's bed, staring at her, the tubes in and out of her, the bandages. The doctors managed to fix her enough to let her live, and now the rest is up to her. Lori said that mom is on her way. I don't care. Crown is sleeping on the floor, he's tired. Lori is on her phone outside, trying to comfort Jordan. Jim had left, he needs to tend to the gas station. I sat there, just staring at her. She tried to defend me, and she did. Now she's paying the price of her deed. Just as I was about to eat the hot dog Crown bought me for breakfast, her heart monitor beeped faster and faster. Crown woke up. He ran outside and called the nurse. I frantically pushed the call nurse button. Like a divine joke, the moment a nurse rush in, the line went flat.

5 years later...

Royal Woods, Michigan

I sat in front of the tomb stone. I sat the flowers down and I took a sit on my pop up chair. "Luke is five now," She smiled. "There was an orchestra at his school last week, lots of parents, not a lot of them are as young as me, but there were a few." I continued. "Luke played a violin, not much rock but it's still music,". I showed the picture of Luke on stage with his violin. "His teachers said that he could become a great musician one day."

"It's weird really, being a mom," I said. "It doesn't feel bad weird, but its weird weird. Like you're afraid of doing something that would make them hate you, but at the same time, you have to do it for their sake. Like I don't understand that. How the hell did mom put it up with me." I blabbered. "Anyways, the mom talk aside, I got E-4 just last month."

"You're talking about your promotion again," Luna said from behind. I turned around. I saw her walking over to me. Her hair is the way it was when she was on stage now.

"I deserve the right to talk to my own father about my promotion," Lily replied with a smile.

"Hey dad, I came to pick Lily up. How's it hanging in there?" I smiled. "Silent treatment huh?" I laughed. "Well, bye dad, I'll join you for a jam sesh one day. As you know, it was supposed to happen 5 years ago, but I had to rain check," I laughed.

"Bitch, you're still on that huh?"

"Uh uh."

"Damn,"

"Well, anyways pop-star, I'll come back in a month or two, we're gonna go fetch Lincoln now, Mom and the others are waiting at the penitentiary."

"Bye dad," Lily said. "Oh yeah, Luna, what happened to the Moon Goats? I watched the news on TV yesterday,"

"Who cares? Just three souls getting arrested for cocaine charges, they aren't even in the spotlight anymore, they're probably grateful for the publicity."

"Sounds petty,"

"Says the petty officer third class,"

"That's petty,"

"Fuck yeah."
