"Are you sure about this?" Danny asked, standing in his ghost form.
"Not really, but it's better than nothing," Wictha said.
Mia turned into her witch form, surprising Sam and Tucker. She held her spellbook as Danny faced her. Danny was familiar with some of the spells he knew thanks to Freakshow and that staff. Still, some of the spells he was told sounded stronger and more dangerous.
"Look, trust Mia. She knows what she's doing. I'll make sure nothing goes wrong." The Spellbook said.
"If you're sure," Danny asked.
"Okay, the first spell," Witcha said before holding up her hand and casting the spell.
Danny could feel something trying to take control of his body, trying to force him to move against his will. Danny fought against it, trying not to let the spell overtake him. Witcha started to pour more magic on him, wanting to see how much he could resist before the spell overtook him. Danny kept fighting as Witcha kept pouring more magic onto the spell. Finally, the magic became too strong and Danny felt his body go limp.
"Hmm, that's not bad. He resists three levels." Her Spellbook said.
"Meaning if someone could overtake his body at level four, then they would force him to do whatever they want," Witcha said, dropping the spell.
"Now I know how a puppet feels," Danny said, testing his arms.
"That's three spells that you could somewhat fight against. You were able to overcome two with steel willpower. And five spells that you couldn't overcome." Witcha said, going over the spells they practice against.
"Wow, I might not believe in magic all that much, due to the fact we get ghost attacks, but witches sound like some serious stuff," Tucker said.
"No dud, Tucker. Witches are the last thing you want to mess with." Sam said.
Witcha nodded.
"Agreed. My parents, if you can call them that, are well known for their curses. If you so much look at them funny, they will curse you. And there are two ways to overcome that curse." Witcha said, sighing.
"And from what Mia told me, getting them to undo the curse never happens," Danny said, recalling how his parents were cursed.
"How are they doing?" Witcha asked him.
"So far, nothing serious," Danny said, having kept an eye on them.
"I still can't believe your parents curse Danny's just because they don't think ghosts are people," Tucker said.
"Just because Ghosts are the undead, doesn't mean they lost everything that made them human," Witcha said.
"And even during my time trying to take over the world, I never saw ghosts as mindless beings." Her Spellbook added.
"So, what spell should we practice next?" Danny asked.
Witcha looked ready to answer before she felt something buzzing in her pocket. Confused, she turned back into her human look and pulled out her cell phone.
"Hello?" She said as the others waited.
"I'm just hanging out with some new friends, mom." She said, surprising them.
"No, I didn't tell them."
"Mom, I'm standing right in front of them!"
Mia then turned away, speaking in whispers. Danny quickly caught on to what she was doing before waving Tucker and Sam closer.
"Her parents have no idea we're her new friends and we don't know she's a witch," Danny whispers.
"So, she keeping us a secret by pretreating we never knew she was a witch," Tucker said, catching on.
"And from what she told us about her parents..." Sam added.
All three of them nodded. it was Mia's way of protecting them from her parents. As well as keeping Danny safe from them. Mia sighs before she hangs up.
"Is everything good?" Sam asked.
"It's never good with my parents. Luckily, I was able to get them back off on the idea of cursing you all. I swear, my parents think cursing everyone is the best to deal with problems." Mia said, shaking her head.
"However, that Dash boy is going to have some very bad luck for the rest of his school year." She added.
"Well, I'm not that comfortable with curses, but if it gets Dash to back off, then I can give this a pass," Danny said, nodding.
"Also, they want me home in time for dinner. Mom is a terrible liar." Mia said, shaking her head again.
"So why does she want you to come home?" Tucker asked.
"Witches don't make friends. They make sevrents. Turn them into your slaves and discover everything you can. After you're done, get ruin of them." Mia said, shocking them.
"What?!" Sam shouted, shocked.
"And that's why I never told them I was Witcha. They think witches are just powerful magical beings that should control everything. Friends? Just sevrents they could use. Family? It's just a cover to trick others. Love? There is no love between others." Mia said, frowning.
"And now you see why I like Mia more than the other witches that carried me." Her Spellbook said.
Danny frowns, feeling bad for her. From what he could tell, Mia was nothing like her folks. She wanted to be different, but her parents didn't see that.
"So, they see you as the black sheep of the family?" Sam asked.
"More like a White Witch." Tucker joked.
"Not funny, Tucker," Mia said, glaring at him.
"You might as well leave the puns to Danny. While he might have bad ones from time to time, at least I get them." Sam said.
Tucker frowns before Mia sighs.
"I have to go. Same time tomorrow?" She said.
"Sure. I'll keep the spells in mind." Danny said, nodding.
With that, the ghost and witch shook hands. Unknowing starting something that would change their lives.
The next morning,
Mia woke up, yawing before stretching. She climbs out of bed and notices her spellbook snoring. She giggles before heading towards the bathroom. She washes up, brushes her hair, and her teeth, and uses her magic to get dressed. Afterward, she went downstairs, avoided saying good morning to her parents, for they did not care about the time of day, and grabbed her breakfast.
"You both know you need to eat." She reminds them.
"Mia, not now." Her mother said, looking at her crystal ball.
"There was a ghost attack last night and the ghost we're after was sighted." Her father added.
'Danny?' Mia thought, walking up.
The three watched as the news covered the latest ghost attack and blamed the damage on Phantom. Her parents frown at that.
"And they don't see that he's the only thing that keeping the town standing?" Her mother said.
"Even we can see that some of those ghosts are far more dangerous, and that boy is the only one that can stop them." Her father added.
"From what I learned, just about everyone in town thinks he's behind the attacks. It seems only the teenagers that believe he's a hero." Mia said, sighing.
"Hmm, it's clear this town failed to see the truth. We have to inform the Council about this." Her father said.
"I got to get ready for school," Mia said, walking away.
"Let us know if you find any more servants." Her mother said, making her groan.
Mia grabbed her things and her spellbook, that woke up.
"Morning, Mia." It said.
"Morning." She said.
"Something wrong?" It asked.
"I'll tell you later." She said, placing it in her bag.
Mia could not believe that everyone was blaming Danny for the damage after saving them. It wasn't his fault that things got destroyed in their fights. Even the Council never outright blames someone else for the damage they cause. Mia sighed, this was going too far. Of course, she and her parents did look up the town and the history of ghost attacks. They could see that Phantom appeared in every one of them, stopping ghosts. And yet, people blamed him for the attacks. Things started to turn around when he beat the ghost king until the new mayor started to blame more attacks on him.
She knew all about Vlad Masters, the first Half-ghost. While some members thought about using him instead of Danny, they were quick to see that he was worthless as both a human and as a ghost. And yet they didn't know that Danny Phantom was a half-ghost too. Still, she was sure once they had Danny under their control, Amity Park would learn the hard way that they just lost their greatest protector.
"Mia!"
She was snapped from her thoughts when she saw Danny running up to her.
"Danny, good morning." She said, nodding.
"Morn...*YAWN*...ing." Danny said, unable to stop a yawn.
"I heard the news. They cut your sleep, didn't they?" She asked.
"Yeah. I might end up falling asleep in class again." Danny said, groaning.
Mia gave it some thought before nodding.
"Then allow me to help. As a witch, I can keep most ghosts away so you can rest. And it could also make some things easier for you." She said.
"Are you sure? You're parents..." Danny started.
"My parents never cared about what I wanted. They see Witcha as a rouge witch that they must take down. And since they don't treat me like a daughter, I have no reason to tell them." Mia said.
"Wow, and I thought Sam's parents were bad," Danny said, feeling sorry for her.
"Well, let's get to school and then go over more spells. And we both won't have to deal with Dash anymore." She said.
"I'll admit, I'm curious about what your parents did to him," Danny said.
"Much like your parents, nothing life-threatening. He won't be able to flirt with me or other girls. And he won't be able to pick on you." Mia said.
Danny could only nod. However, he was more worried about Mia's idea of helping him. But he recalled how she handled the ghost that attacked a few days ago and knew she wasn't helpless. Still, he was very unsure about it.
"Danny, I'm a witch, remember." She said, shocking him.
"No, I didn't read your mind. It was written over your face." Mia told him before smiling.
"Thanks for worrying about me." She said, planting a kiss on his cheek.
Danny blushed as Mia giggled. It seems things were going okay...for now.
And that ends this chapter. Danny and Mia trained against some spells, but there were some Danny couldn't fight against. They had a long way to go before Danny could resist the spells completely. And as you can see, Mia's parents are nothing like actual parents. They refuse to believe they love each other and refuse to believe there are since things like family and love. However, they do understand that Danny Phantom is the town's only protector.
And yes, they know about Vlad Master. This is due to KellBell35's review. They (this person never stated in their profile if they were male or female) stated that Vlad should be more of a target because he was far more powerful and the main reason Pharah Dark was locked away. While the Council is well aware, they know everything he did and find him worthless to their cause. They haven't figured out that Danny is also a half-ghost...yet.
