Chapter 43: Uh Oh, We're in trouble

The ride back to Beacon was anything but quiet. Everyone on the ship was staring at me as I just kept on looking at the ground floor, trying to ignore everyone's gazes. The moment we entered, and all sat down, by some fucking chance a song began to play by itself. Everyone looked at me confused by it and Miss Goodwitch told me to turn it off.

However, this was a song that I couldn't stop no matter how hard I tried. So I just sat there not looking at anyone as the song continued to play for us. I want to say that a few good things about this were that one nothing bad happened, and two the song was really nice to hear. Now that I think about it... I at least remember the name of this one now.

Wings... Huh, not a bad song to end the night.

As the ship landed in Beacon, Miss Goodwitch ordered us to return to our rooms for the night and that tomorrow she would have a word with all of us involved. We nodded our heads in agreement and went to our dorms.

Sun however was not so lucky, He was lifted up by Miss Goodwitch and was taken with her. Apparently, he is a student from Haven, but since Haven students have yet to arrive. He might be in bigger trouble than he already is... That poor soul.

So here we are, in front of our dorm rooms as I turn to team RWBY and smile at them. "Well, goodnight all. See you tomorrow for classes... Shit, it's only Tuesday..." I said with dread on my face. Yang and Ruby laugh at my disarray while Weiss huffs and enters their room first. Soon the two sisters followed her and now it was just Blake and me left outside.

"..."

'Well, this is awkward...' "Well, Blake... Have a good night. Sleep well..." I turned to my door and was about to enter it, but I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned and saw Blake standing in front of me.

"Thank you, Seth. For the help." She gives me a small smile and I nod.

"No problem. Like I told you, I was just back up. What are frien- Or associates, I know you don't see me as a frie-" Blake stops me from continuing.

"No, friends." She raises her hand towards me and I take it without a second thought.

"Friends." I wanted to ask her a few more questions, but since it was already late I guess I can talk to her another time. Once we were all settled down. We let go of our handshake and we both entered our respectful rooms.

I quietly entered my room so I don't disturb the others. However, the only thing that I saw were pairs of eyes just looking back at me as I entered the dark room.

"So you finally arrive." I turned to the voice and saw Pink eyes looking at me.

"We've been calling you all day today, and now you come home late." I turn to another voice and see Turquoise color eyes looking at me disappointed.

"You were supposed to help us with training, so what happened?" Another voice was heard and the pair of eyes were Blue.

I saw all pairs of eyes looking at me from their respective beds and I only wondered, why did it have to be tonight that we were talking about this? I would have preferred this conversation tomorrow in the morning and not at midnight. Sigh... Why do I do this to my-... Wait...

Where is the last set of eyes?

I feel a hand on my shoulder and I turn to the person. Right next to me, I see green eyes staring back at me, and for some strange reason, this close I can tell that the person behind them was sending me a sinister smile my way.

"So... How was your day with Penny?" I began to sweat at that. Now the most reasonable thing to do in this situation was to tell them the truth and deal with the consequences of my actions. However, it's me and I always chose the harder choice, thinking that I might get more EXP from this. What is this, a game? (AU?)

"Oh, you know... It went well. Penny said 'Hi' to you." I tried to act as calm as I could be, but I felt her hand grip my shoulder even harder and I winced from that.

'Shit! That part still hurts a lot.' Damn bastard slamming me into those containers. The grip soon loosened a bit after she felt me wince a bit. The lights of the room turn on and my team finally sees me. My clothes looked ruined, my sunglasses were missing and I had a tired look on my face. By their expressions, I could tell they were all worried.

"Seth, are you okay?" "What happened to you?" "What happened to your sunglasses?" "Did you bring me something?!" We all turn to Nora who just has a sheepish look on her face. "I mean... Are you hurt?" I chuckle at that.

'Same as always Nora.' "I'm fine guys. Everything is okay." I threw them a smile and I heard Pyrrha tell me.

"Seth, what happened? Where did you actually go?" I turned to Pyrrha and looked at her, I could tell she was worried. With a nod, I turn to face the others.

"I'm fine guys, everything is alright now."

"Really? Cause Yang called us earlier today, telling us that 'You' went into Vale with your weapon on hand. Any reason why?" Ren questions me and I just rub my neck at that.

"Well... I kind of got into a fight... But on the bright side of all of that, we were able to find Blake and she is back home now."

"Really?" "Oh, that's great." "Did you win?!" Once again we all turn to Nora who just looked away from us.

"Pfft. Of course, I did." That was somewhat of a lie. I mean I did in a way and still got my ass kicked. "Sigh... Look guys, it's already late, and we have school tomorrow, so I promise to you all that I will explain everything that happened." The team all just looked at each other and with a defeated nod they agreed to this. Pyrrha soon leaves my side and heads straight for her bed and I just smile at her as I go to the bathroom to change.

Closing the bathroom door I splash water on my face and look myself in the mirror. Tired was all over my face and I could see that I didn't have any more bruises from earlier. Thank you, Aura. After changing and leaving the bathroom I head straight for bed and close my eyes. But I couldn't sleep at all.

That man... What he said to me is really getting to me now.

I just knew this was going to bother me for the rest of the following nights and the only way to get an answer was to get it from him... Or my Mom.

'Sigh... I fucking hate this feeling of the unknown.'

It was during our final class that we were called down to meet the headmaster. By we, I mean Ruby, Blake, and I. No idea what had happened to Sun after yesterday, but something told me we won't be seeing him anytime soon. As I got up with my tray, Nora gave me words of advice.

"Remember Seth, don't tell them anything! They can't get you if you confess." Wise words from Nora Valkyrie.

"Nora that won't help him at all." Ren told his partner this but I just looked back at them and nodded.

"Don't worry guys, this ain't my first time being in trouble. I have loads of experience of this. See you guys later." With that, I left with Blake and Ruby as we began to walk towards the place where the headmaster wanted to question us.

"I hope we are not in too much trouble here... Oh, Dad will kill me if he finds out about this." Ruby said as we continued to walk. I chuckled at this and gave my two cents on this.

"Don't worry Ruby, I'm sure we won't be in too much trouble. Just tell him your part of the story and Me and Blake will tell our parts. If anything you won't get in too much trouble." I tried to assure her that everything was going to be fine, but Ruby just kept on worrying.

"But, I'm supposed to be the leader here. It was my responsibility to find Blake and now you got involved in this whole mess." Man, she must really be putting too much effort into this leadership role. Ever since we talked on the first day of school and the whole mess with Weiss, Ruby has done her best to fit the role that she was assigned. I was going to assure her that it was fine, but this time it was Blake who spoke up.

"Ruby this isn't your fault, it's mine. I will take full responsibility for this. If anything I'm sorry for getting you guys involved in my actions. However, I wish to know how it was that you were able to find us?"

"Oh, well. Seth called me and Yang. I was with Penny at the time and he called me when an explosion happened. So we rushed there as soon as we could. Also, it was thanks to Seth's music that we were able to find you so quickly." As Ruby finished, I could tell Blake was staring at me. But my focus right now was on the floor.

It's a nice floor... I like it, it has a nice texture. Clearly, I'm not trying to avoid something here. I just really like the floor of the place.

"Right..." As we made it to the place where the headmaster wanted to speak to us. We saw Miss Goodwitch waiting for us at the door. She asked us to take a seat and that the headmaster would be speaking to us one by one. Blake volunteered to go first, so Ruby and I had to wait our turn.

While waiting for our turn I pulled out my scroll and sent a text to Penny, just to be sure that everything was okay on her end. However, I felt like something was wrong. Usually, Penny always texts back right away and now there was no reply. I hope nothing bad happened to her. Yet, who was the one picking her up? I don't think she ever mentioned anything about that.

"Is everything alright Seth?" Turning to face Ruby I see her looking at me with wonder in her eyes over what I was doing.

"Yeah, everything is fine. Just making sure that Penny is alright."

"Oh, that's good. After yesterday she just kind of disappeared. Is she alright?"

"That's what I'm trying to find out. By the way, how did you two end up together?"

"Oh, well she kind of appeared out of nowhere and she kept me company trying to find Blake. I have to say, she is a really nice person. Strange but a nice person overall."

Well, that's good at least Penny was able to make more friends here.

"Yeah, Penny is a strange one. But she means well."

"It's strange. Yesterday when she fought, I saw something strange about her."

"What was it?"

"Her weapons, they came out her back. I thought she had a backpack, but then they opened and I could have sworn I saw wires and strings. Do you have any Idea Seth?" Ruby questioned me and I already knew the answer to that. But I just kept my mouth shut on the subject.

"I do, but that's not my thing to tell you about. It's Penny, whenever she feels like telling you it will be up to her. Just give her time Ruby. Penny is a... special case when it comes to things like this. So please be patient with her." I could see that Ruby wanted to ask more questions about it, but as she was about to speak the door opened, and out walked Blake with the headmaster.

I saw her nod towards us and began to leave.

"Now then, who would like to be next?" The headmaster asked us and by what I could tell, Ruby didn't want to be next. So I just got up and began to walk inside the room.

Inside the room, I was greeted with a dark room with a table and two chairs. With the only source of light was one single light bulb that shine on the table. I took a seat on one of the chairs and the headmaster made his way towards his own chair.

"Now Mister Sapphire, I know you had an eventful night out yesterday with Miss Belladonna." Why would he word it like that? "But I do hope that nothing bad happened yesterday cause of your actions last night. So if you would, can you please explain to me what happened yesterday?" I feel like I should at least change the story up a bit. But I have no idea what Blake said to him or if she even told him the whole truth about last night.

So I began to explain my side of the story, how I was just taking a walk in Vale and heard an explosion in the distance, and when I arrived I saw Blake and Sun fighting, I quickly jumped in and helped them take out any white fang members left. That was about it, but I could tell he didn't buy my story.

"So, you went on a walk through Vale at night."

"Yep..." I said crossing my hands.

"You stumble upon Miss Belladonna and Mister Wukong."

"Yep..." I lean back into my seat.

"And you got involved in their conflict, resulting in the destruction of Vale shipment ground."

"To be perfectly fair, that last part was not on us."

"Oh, then who was it?"

"..." I had no answer for that, cause I didn't want to bring Penny into this.

"Well?" The headmaster asked waiting for my answer.

"That... That could have been one of the Fang members..." I said while rubbing the back of my neck.

"I see." The headmaster drank from his cup that I swear this man can't live without. "You know Mister Sapphire, when I first saw you attend this school, I expected a lot from you." I see him reach into his green suit, pull out a folder, and place it on the table. "What I was not expecting was a... How do I put this."

"A troublemaker?" I mean it won't be the first time being called that.

"Right." He begins to open the file and there I see that it was mine. "Fights at school. Average grades. Teachers' recommendation. You are a mixed bag of good and bad things. And yet, it seems that you are always there when trouble is occurring." I mean it was only one time, I'm sure it was nothing.

"Wrong place right time I guess."

"Hm, you remind me of someone Mister Sapphire. An old student of mine. An angry bird."

I tilt my head at that "Qrow?"

"Ah, so you know of him?"

"Yeah, I met him a long time ago. He was someone that I was planning on calling for him to help me get into this school. But his contact was outdated or something. Had to find another way to enter and somehow I did."

"Hm, well yes. His contact is outdated, but he has his reasons. But I wasn't referring to him. I was referring to his sister."

'He has a sister?' "What?" I ask confused by the revelation.

"Never mind that. Look Mister Sapphire, I know that you wanted to help out your friends here, but there is a time and place to do that. It's not smart to run without a plan. But you need to think of the consequences of your actions. If it was only you three against a whole army. Then you would have all been injured or worse killed."

I mean I did call for backup. Ruby showed up on time with Penny, but holy did Weiss and Yang take their sweet time getting there.

"I understand sir."

"Good. Now as for your punishment. You will remain here for the following week until the second semester begins. You are to remain on school grounds till that time. Are we clear?"

"Sure that seems-." Wait. "So that means I won't be able to go home during the break?"

"Yes, you are not allowed to leave the school."

...

I wanted to say this in my head, however I didn't. Outside of the room, Ruby was looking at her scroll watching a video of a hit show until she heard Seth scream out.

"FUCK!"

That made her jump and look towards the room that he was in. Now getting scared of what may happened to her.

The moment I entered my dorm room I was grabbed by my arm and dragged inside. The room was dark and as soon as they sat me down a bright light was shining a pond me.

"Ah, fuck guys. Can you at least not shine that on my face." I said to them as I covered my eyes from that.

I heard a quiet 'sorry' courtesy of Nora and soon enough I regained my vision. There I saw a new screen in front of me. Infront of me were my teammates and all had their arms crossed with upset looks on their faces. Speaking of faces.

"Okay, can one of you please explain to me why you are all wearing mustaches?" I looked at every single one all wearing different types of facial hair on their face and Ren stepped up and explained it as he removed his from his face.

"Nora's idea." And like that, it explains everything.

"Hey! You guys all agree with the plan and now you are backing out of it. We were all going to play detective with Seth here and find out where he went yesterday." Nora said to the others as I saw them all remove their mustaches from their faces, except for Nora who kept her's on.

"Right... So what do you guys want to know then?" Soon enough I was bombarded with loads of questions from everyone. I tried my best to answer them truthfully to them. However, there was one question that I couldn't answer.

"Who was it that you were fighting?" This one Jaune asked.

"It was the White Fang and some guy with orange hair. I feel like I've seen him somewhere before but I can't remember where." I told them and as I finished talking, Nora appeared in front of me with her scroll out.

"Was this him?" I looked at the scroll and saw the picture of the man in question. Yep, it was him. Same orange hair, the same suit, and the same headaches as before.

"Yeah, it's him. His name is Roman Torchwick. Criminal mastermind, blah, blah, blah. Said here he escaped prison and now he is let loose on Vale. Great."

"And apparently he is also working with the White Fang, that seems kind of off." Ren put his two cents in which got the others to agree with him. In fact that it was true does feel strange from what I experienced, the White Fang hated humans and yet they are working together. Something doesn't add up here...

Well, if anything this is not my problem anymore. I did my part in helping, I'm done for the day.

"So anything else you guys want to know?" I asked and waited for them to respond, seeing as they didn't have anything else to say I was about to get up...

But...

"Why does Yang have your sunglasses?" Why can't life be easy anymore...

"Oh, well she is kinda keeping them for the time being. Honestly, I will take it rather than get into trouble with them. So that's why." I answer truthfully and see that she was just narrowing her eyes at me. Eventually, she nods and walks toward her bed.

"So what now?" I asked my team.

"Not much we can do now. Blake is finally back with team RWBY and now we just need to pack for us to go on break."

"Oh! I can't wait to finally see Argus I heard it has a beach right!"

Oh, right. "Well... There is one more thing guys." I said and saw them all staring at me.

"What?" The team asked in unison. Sigh... Never easy. "I'm not allowed to go back home... I'm stuck here until the second semester starts... Ehe."

...

Outside the dorm room, Ruby was walking towards her dorm and was about to enter it. The talk with the headmaster wasn't too bad. All he said was that she was not allowed to leave school grounds until the next semester started. Honestly, it wasn't too bad, right? Blake and Seth were also going to be here so it wasn't-

"WHAT!" Ruby jumped at the sound that came from team JNPRS room.

"Sigh... Crazy kids." Ruby shook her head and entered her room.

"RUBY!" Ruby spoke too soon.

After dealing with the whole debacle with the team. I was sitting right now in our room alone. The team decided to go out and grab a bite to eat. I told them I wasn't hungry and that I had to make a call home to inform Mom that I wasn't going to go home.

So here I am, sitting on my bed with my scroll in my hand waiting to call my mom.

...

"Sigh... Alright, let's do this." I went to her contact and chose it. After a few seconds, I hear her pick up.

"Sweet Heart!" I heard Mom's voice on the other line. It's been so long.

"Hey, Mom."

"How have you been? Have you been eating well? Are you staying out of trouble? How have your classes been?" She began to throw questions my way at a speed that I could at least understand.

"Yeah, everything has been good so far. Yes, I have been eating well, even though the food here kind of sucks. You were right about that. Classes have been good so far, I'm not failing so that's good." Then my Mom began to throw me curveball questions that even I was not ready for.

"Have you joined any clubs? Are you cleaning your room? Have you experienced any type of bullying? Is there any girl in your life, yet?" I just placed a hand over my face at her questions even though I was getting annoyed by them.

"No mom, no club yet. We do clean our room daily. No one is bullying. And I refuse to answer the last one."

"Awww, come on! You are at the age were-"

"MOM!" I scream at her trying to not have her continue.

"Fine! I won't budge. So what is this surprise that you called me? We usually call each other every other week, what happened?"

'Sigh... Here we go then.' " I need to tell you something important and I want you to at least let me finish... Okay?"

"Alright."

I took a deep breath and began to explain the events that had happened from Friday all the way from today. I did change some details on how we got there and others that were not necessary to bring up and as I finished explaining the events, Mom was quiet the whole time.

"So that's what happened. I won't be able to go home this break cause I'm punished. Sorry Mom..." I waited for her response, I felt like I just dropped a big revelation on what had happened and now the wait was on to see how she would react.

"Seth, tell me. Do you think you did the right thing in this situation?" Mom asked.

"What? I... I mean."

"Do you Seth?"

I thought about it, I mean I feel like I did in some way, but what the headmaster told me feels like I did something completely different. "I... I feel like I did the right thing. I helped my friend who needed help, even though I did lie to the others as well."

"Life is complicated like that Seth, you can't always help everyone at the same time. Some people would like one thing, another would like another. And when you try to please everyone. Someone will always have the short end of the stick. You promise to help your friend's team by looking for their missing teammate, and once you found her you were given a choice to help her or help the team. You chose the first option and by doing that, you had to cover for her. Lucky for you she trusted you enough to call you and ask for help when she needed it. Tell me Seth, how close are you to her?"

How close am I to Blake? I mean we are friends now, but back then the only conversation that we had was the one when we arrived here. Other than that we've kinda been keeping our distance from each other, but I knew she didn't hate me.

"Were friends Mom. I felt like I could at least trust her."

"Then she trusts you to have her back then. She called you and you both went on some vigilante quest and caused a scene at the shipment area. You went against some White Fang and had each other backs in there. So tell me, do you think you did the wrong thing in helping her? Cause the way I see it, I see a girl that had a death wish for jumping in without a plan and wanted to get herself killed."

Man, Mom is brutally honest when it comes to things like this. But I mean I don't think she is wrong. Sun was there for her as well. Could they have both been better off without me stepping in? I mean they both dealt with their share of grunts and we all gave our hits on the man. I guess that for another time to think about what could have happened.

"Right... I get it, Mom. Thanks." I told her and I could hear her give a sigh of relief.

"Honestly Seth, I was worried that you did something worse here. But at least you weren't the one starting these messes again. You just always like to jump in and help everyone."

"Yeah, what can I do Mom, you raised me well."

"I did... But it's fine. I blame myself for that. So I guess you won't come back home then."

"Sadly no, but my team will surely visit you."

"No, it's fine. Honestly, it's a good thing you called me. Cause I did get a message from Pietro that said he needed some help back in Mantle and I told him after you go back I can go and help him. But I guess I can go now and visit him instead."

"Really? Did he call you for help? Is something wrong back home?"

"Not that I know of. If anything, I think he needs help around the shop, since Atlas keeps calling him back up there. But at last, what can we do? So I can at least go and give him a hand."

"Hm, well I see. Sorry about that Mom."

"Don't be, it's just you being you. I can't ask for anything else. Well was there anything else you wanted to talk about?"

Not at the moment... Oh, wait... There was.

"Mom... You know your semblance right."

"I always know of it. Yes. What about it?"

How do I tell her without her panicking? Or better yet... How do I bring that man into this?

"Seth? What is it? Did you learn something about it?"

"Mom, here's a weird question for you. Do you have any siblings?"

"No, I don't. You know I was an only child. Right?"

"What about cousins?"

"No Seth, I don't have any cousins as well. Why are you asking this? Didn't you ask about my semblance?"

"Mom, what are the chances of naming your Semblance the same?"

"The odds are rather low for most people. Especially those who have it running in the family. Why? Did you meet someone else with a wind semblance as well?"

"No Mom, I didn't. I just-" Before I can continue the door to my room opens and in walks the rest of my team. I wave at them and motion that I was on a call.

So Nora took it upon herself to make herself be known.

By taking my scroll.

"Nora!"

"Hello! Who is this we are speaking to!" I tried to get my scroll from her but she kept on jumping around the room and on our beds.

"WAIT! Your Seth's Mom! Why Hello Mama Sapphire. I'm Nora! Your son has been the best!" I then see Nora put the call on speaker so everyone in the room can hear her.

"Why thank you, Nora, I hope my son hasn't caused you all too much trouble."

"Nope! He's the best! And his songs are awesome as well! By the way, everyone can hear you! Say hello guys!"

"Hello again Miss Sapphire." "Hey, nice to meet you, Ma'am." "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

"Pyrrha it's good to hear from you. I hope everything is good for you. Everyone else It's really good to hear from you. I hope my son hasn't been a problem for you all."

"Mom!"

"I mean he has his moments." "He does tend to do things on his own." "He Supplex Weiss! That was awesome!" "Nora!" I quickly take my scroll back and try to end the call fast.

"Okay, Mom thank you for all of that. I hope next time I can finally introduce you to everyone in person. When I visit next time. I have to go now!"

"Wait, Seth! One more thing!"

"Yeah?"

...

"That Nora girl sounds nice for you~!" I hung up the call and threw my scroll at my bed. I turned to see the other's reaction and saw that Nora was blushing, Ren looked shocked by it, Jaune was holding in a laugh and Pyrrha looked like she was betrayed by someone dear to her.

"God damn it, Mom!"

Everyone left for Break, it was Thursday and everyone should be back until next week Tuesday. Some left to go back home and be with their families. While others decided to stay in school and focus on themselves.

The team all went with Pyrrha to Argus and said that they could be back before Saturday. But I just told them to take their time there. Argus is a big Place and I know Pyrrha would like to spend time with her Mom as well. I told them I was going to be okay by myself and that they should at least have fun on the break. After some words, they agree to go with no worries and all leave on an Airship, to the disarray from Jaune. That poor soul.

So here I am alone in a room, just sitting here singing to myself.

"A little Lonely."

"Poor little me."

KNOCK KNOCK!

I looked toward the door and tapped my heart to stop the song. As I walked towards it I opened it and was greeted by Ruby.

"Oh, hey Ruby. What's up?"

"Well, I just thought you were Lonely here so I thought we could spend the day together, just the three of us."

"Three?" I then see Ruby pull Blake from the side of the door and to be honest I had to hold in a laugh.

In front of me was Blake wearing a t-shirt that said 'Backup Bestie'. Her face said it all that she was trying to not send daggers my way.

"I see, well I got nothing better to do. So why not!"

"Great! Here is your official t-shirt." I then saw Ruby reach at her back and pull another shirt that said 'Backup Backup Bestie.' And hands it to me. I wanted to argue, but seeing Blake's angry face that told me to wear it and Ruby's pleading face that also told me to wear it. I had no choice but to wear it as well.

"Great! Let's go! Besties! I have a whole week's plans for us!" Ruby quickly rushes out without us and heads towards the exit. I look back at Blake and see her also looking at me.

"Do I want to ask?"

"Sigh... Just making it up to Ruby. You know for making her worried."

"I see. Well, not much we can do now, but make the best of it." I close the door and look at Blake. "You ready, Bestie?" She rolls her eyes at me and we both go to follow Ruby.

I mean How bad can it be?

THURSDAY!

Ruby wanted to make cookies so we all pitched in and helped her make her batch of cookies.

However, me and Blake both discovered that Cookie making was a difficult thing to do when Ruby was involved.

"Seth! Get the flour and the eggs, fast! Come on what are you a turtle!"

"Yes! Chef!" I grabbed the ingredients and handed them to her. However, Ruby looked at me upset.

"What?"

"These eggs are RAW! Get me new ones!" Ruby throws them at me and I make the remark of saying.

"Aren't eggs already raw?"

"Get out of my kitchen!" I soon left the kitchen and sat next to Blake who was covered in flour.

"What did you do?" Blake asked me.

"Handed her raw eggs."

Friday

I was sitting in the library with Blake and was waiting for Ruby to return with a book. She said all these books were boring so she went back to her room to get one from her stack.

"Where is Ruby? This was her idea to come here. Not that I mind but where is she?"

"She said that these books were boring and said that she was going to get one from your room." I told her as I continued to read 'How to arm yourself.'

"Oh, that's nice."

...

"AHHHHH!" Blake got up from her chair and ran in the direction of her dorm room. Meanwhile, I looked at her and ran after her trying to understand what had happend.

As I made it to their dorm I saw that Blake was on the ground while Ruby was standing over her and began to walk away from her.

"What happened?" I asked but only heard.

"Can- can I have my book back?" Blake said as she was still on the ground, while Ruby just passed me and turned back to Blake.

"LATER!" With that Ruby left and I was left confused about what just happened.

SATURDAY!

We were at the Armory, that Ruby said she wanted to help us maintain our weapons in top shape. Blake was working on her sword and was doing little maintenance to her blade.

I on the other hand was fixing Favillae. The last fight that I was in really made a dent in it, so I just had to be sure that it was at least durable to take another hit like that.

Ruby on the other hand...

I turned to her and saw her forging a small dagger. Repeatably hitting it with a hammer.

"You good Ruby?" I asked her, she raised her head and removed some goggles from her face.

"Yeah, everything is fine. Just wish we had a little bit of entertainment here. Like music... Do you know anyone who can help with that?"

I just give her a deadpan expression and sigh a bit...

"What do you want?"

"Something motivational!" I think I got one that will do.

I tap my heart and let the music begin to play.

"Aw! Yeah! Now we are talking!" Ruby placed her goggles again and began hammering.

I looked at Blake and saw her shrug at me. Ruby was in the zone, we both didn't want to bother her.

SUNDAY!

One more day and everyone will return back to Beacon. Honestly, this break wasn't too bad. I feel like with the others we spend more time together getting to know one another better. Still, though I feel like this is something only a few people can experience in small groups. Well, I'm just thankful that they included me.

KNOCK KNOCK!

That must be Ruby with her plans today. I wonder what adventure she will have for us today. I opened the door and was greeted by Ruby holding onto Blake's hand.

"Seth, tell Blake she can't leave the school!"

...

"What?"

"Sigh... I want to visit a bookstore in Vale, but Ruby here doesn't want me to leave the school, since, you know were are to be expected to stay here." Blake informs me and I can see her point.

"I see."

"So tell her Seth she can't go." Ruby said trying to get support.

"Blake is a big girl, she can take care of herself."

"Ugh! You sound like Weiss."

...

"On second thought, let's go."

"What!?" Ruby looked at me surprised by that.

"Why not Ruby? We have been here for the past four days here, I say let's go and visit Vale."

"But we can't!"

"Sure we can." I looked at Blake "Sneak out?" She nods her head and I smirk at that. "I'm game, but we get food on the way there. I getting sick of school food." I can see Blake think for a bit but agrees to it.

"That's fine. What did you have in mind."

"Pizza." "Alright."

"Wait! I'm the leader here and I said we can't leave." Ruby finally put her foot down and looked at both of us. We both looked at her and I began to convince her.

"We can get two Pizzas!"

"Seth that's not going to work on me."

"With Stuffed crust."

"..."

"Think about it Ruby... You can eat it in reverse." I could see a twinkle in her eyes when I said that. Soon Ruby's stomach rumbled that eventually.

"Fine! But if we get caught."

"That's the best part! We won't." I turn to Blake. "So what is the plan?" She motioned us to follow her and he began our great escape.

"Wow, I can't believe we actually made it to Vale!" Ruby said with wonder.

"I can't believe Miss Goodwitch didn't see us. When we passed her." Blake said surprised by our luck

"I can't believe I did 'that' to get past Team GOTH!" Seth said with dread in his face.

As the three began to walk in Vale they followed Blake to the place that she wanted to visit. A bookstore in the center of Vale that most of the public would ignore but for some, they just knew where to look.

"This the place?" I asked Blake and saw her nod her head and began to head inside. I turn to Ruby and see her shrug at me so we both follow Blake inside.

The store itself was covered with books from all ages. The walls were books, there were little shelves that had books in the center of the place, a big store full of books. Seeing Blake ring a bell, we could hear someone call out to us.

After a minute, a man walks out carrying books in his hands. "Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade. Home to every- Blake? Your Back." The man looks at Ruby and Me next. "And Brought guests?"

"Tukson these are my... Friends." Blake said looking back at us.

"Hello!" "Hi." Ruby and I both greeted trying to act polite to the owner.

"Well, friends of Blakes are always welcome, go ahead and look around. I have a few things for you Blake." He motions to Blake to head to the back and she nods at that. Blake then looks at us.

"I'll be back guys, this will only take a minute." With that Blake follows Tukson more inside the store, leaving Ruby and me to explore the shop.

"He seems nice?" Ruby said to me and I just kept rubbing my head.

"Yeah, he does. Anyway, what books do you like?" I said to her as I tried to focus on what was infront of me and not on what I just saw.

"Oh, let's see." Ruby began to go through a bunch of books trying to find some that she likes. "Oh! They have, The Hunter's family! The Girl in the Tower! Gasp! They even have my favorite! The girl who fell through the world. Oh, Mom always read these books to me as a kid." As Ruby continued to look at the books I kept looking at her choice in books.

"These are mostly fairytales. You like them?"

"Of course I do. Almost every kid my age likes stories like these. What about you Seth, which one is your favorite?"

"I... Don't really get these books."

"What? But didn't your mom ever read you stories like these?"

I just shake my head. "No, she didn't. Mom really never read me stories as a kid. She told me about her life... But not books like these..." I continued to look at the stories infront of me and for some reason, I kept looking at the one called 'The Four Seasons.' Every time I looked at it. I just felt dread.

"Seth?" Ruby called my name and I snapped out of it.

"Huh? Sorry, what were you saying?"

"I said, if you want to start on a good book then start with this one." Ruby hands me the book that she liked 'The Girl Who Fell Through The World'

"Really? What's it about?"

"Oh, it's about a girl, who actually fell through the world and she meets these characters who help her out trying to find her way home. She meets characters like The rusted knight and the curious cat who help her on her journey. And she has to deal with enemies like the Jabberwalker and the -" Before she could continue Blake's voice appeared behind us.

"Okay, guys I'm back. I got what I wanted. So we can go." We both look at her and agree to leave. As we began to leave We saw Blake talk with Tukson, soon Blake hugged the man and began to walk towards us.

"Alright. So, Pizza?" Very out of character for Blake, but hey I'm sure as hell not complaining.

"Yeah, let's go."

As we finished eating Ruby excused herself to go to the bathroom leaving Blake and I sitting at the table.

"So that man, you know him?" I asked her and saw Blake nod her head.

"Yeah, old colleague of mine. We used to be in the same division of Intell. But we all left on separate occasions. He left first and I followed. He is also the one I have been staying for the past few days. He's like a good friend of mine." I see Blake reminisce about her old time in the Fang and I simply nod at that.

"Well, that's good. At least you had someone having your back."

"I feel like you want to ask me something, Seth. You keep glancing at me every so often."

"Ha, and here I thought I was being more relaxed than I was." I tried to joke but saw Blake stare at me. I looked in the direction of the bathroom where Ruby went and turned back to Blake.

"What actually made you leave the Fang?" Blake shifted from her relaxed state to a more serious one and looked at me with narrow eyes.

"I don't believe that is none of your concern. Why bring this up?"

"Monday on the roof. I told you about dealing with White Fang before and you mentioned something about 'I was there.' So I'm trying to figure out a timeline between that and you leaving."

Blake just looks down at the table and simply sighs again. "Seth, it's nothing to be concerned about. I left on my own. And that was my choice." She raises her head and looks at me. "I promise you, I had no part in any of those attacks. Like I said before I was mostly used for recon missions and sabotage towers. I never went that far."

"A lot of people died that day... I had nightmares about it too." The bodybags and the sound of that guy's arm snapping. Really made me open my eyes for the second time. This world is fucked.

"I'm sorry." I looked at Blake and saw her looking down at her hands, not wanting to look at me. I raised my hand and placed it at hers and that made her raise her head at me.

"It's fine... The past is the past. I trust you, Blake." Blake just simply nods at me and smiles.

"Thank you."

Did I trust her? Yes... Was I a fool? Yes... But I knew people could change, it just takes time.

"Ugh... Did I miss something here?" We both turn to Ruby who is staring at us. I looked back at where my hand was at and quickly pulled it back. Blake also had the same revelation and did the same. We both had our faces red by that and I just got up from my seat and headed to the bathroom next.

Meanwhile Ruby continued to stare at Blake as she took a seat next to her. "Soooo, are you two?"

"No, Ruby... He's just..." Blake looks in the direction of where Seth went. "He's a good friend." A small smile appeared on Blake's face.
