Alexandria's cousins had settled into their rooms before the selection of the champions arrived. Draco and the Riddle family had caught up. He had also explained why he didn't speak much with Alexandria.

"It would look too suspicious to Dumbledore," he'd said. "He doesn't even know the Dark Lord has a family, but just the sight of Ria might have piqued his interest."

After this information, Jean-Charles felt even more protective of his younger cousin. After all, she had no older brother, so he would have to fill that role of over-protective, annoying male family member.

Antione would have helped him if he had been old enough to travel with them.

Jess and Emma seemed to have a rocky relationship. They were always arguing over some rather stupid subject. First was the ape argument, then the pixies, and now it was whether Luna's gulping plimpies existed. Jess was adamant that they were real, while Emma shared the majority's idea that they were absolutely fake.

Olga was unaware of the situation other than the two were giving each other the silent treatment.

Alexandria had tried to start a conversation with the girls, but neither would speak to her when the other was in the vicinity.

Alexandria had gotten tired of trying to get them to be friends again, so she had gone out to the courtyard before the revealing of the champions.

"Hi," Draco said, walking up to her under his favourite tree.

"Hello."

"Jess and Emma being idiots again?"

She kicked him in the shin. "Don't be such a git!"

"So that's a yes?"

"Yes," she sighed. "They were fighting about Luna's creatures."

"Ah," he said with a nod. "She's a part of your crew now, I take it?"

"Yes. She really is a nice girl. Just strange in some ways. Jean-Charles, Claire, and Elodie seem to like her too."

"So has she become part of your plan to take over the world?"

"Not yet," Alexandria laughed. "I'll just ask Papa to let her live."

The pair sat in silence for a few more minutes until Claire ran up to them.

"Alex! Draco! The ceremony has almost started!"

The three ran to the Great Hall, where most of the school was already seated. There was a large dusty box set where Dumbledore's throne usually stood.

Draco separated to sit at the Slytherin table, while the girls went to the Ravenclaw table with Alexandria's cousins and friends.

"Who do you think it will be?" Luna asked dreamily.

"Honestly?" Alexandria said. "I couldn't care less."

Elodie said, "Beauxbatons decided to vote on who would enter, so there wouldn't be any fighting. Fleur Delacour will be the only student from the Academy to choose."

"That's rather smart," Olga said. "There has been a lot of tension in Hogwarts over who will get picked."

"Potter and Weasley seemed to want to get in," Jess said, finally speaking in the presence of Emma.

"Yeah, but I don't think Potter really meant it," Emma said, breaking her silence as well.

"Well did you see the way Weasley's eyes lit up at the mention of gold?" Jess asked. "I don't really understand his parents' thinking process. They were already rather poor, why have so many children that you can barely care for them?"
