A few days later Graham has forced Ace out into the sun for a short stroll, "Graham?"
"Yes," they stop walking and Graham stands in front of her.
"The other night Tegan said something."
"She said a few things."
"Right before we joined her and Nyssa."
"We can talk about what I should and shouldn't eat later." He wants to tell Ace on a better day that he loves her.
"No, though we can talk about that later, she said our loves."
"She did," Graham scratches the back of his neck.
"What did she mean about that? Does she know something I should know?"
"I kind of slipped out when I was meeting her at UNIT."
"So love?"
"Yeah love, I know we haven't even been on a date yet, or even kissed. I just like spending as much time with you as I can, even if it's just a late night phone call as you are getting ready for bed." Ace smiles as he continues on, "yeah I love you," Graham looks into Ace eyes as she leans up, places one hand on his cheek and lightly presses her lips to his. Graham drops the hand he was holding and wraps his arms around Ace. The kiss grows deeper as people continue to walk on by.
"How was that," Ace asks as she steps back and opens her eyes to see that Graham still has his eyes closed. "Graham?" He opens his eyes.
"I'm here," he smiles at her.
"You sure?"
"I am, that was."
"Good?"
"More than good."
"Good," Ace reclaims his hand, "if I don't return soon, I don't know if I will return."
"Then let's get you back," they head back to A Charitable Earth, "call me tonight."
"I may be late."
"I know," Graham goes in to kiss her. Ace tilts her head and they share another kiss as Charlotte is trying to control some of the phone calls from reporters and Nyssa has walked out of her office. After a few seconds Ace steps back.
"I have to get back to work," she plays with his jacket, leans up and gives him a quick kiss. "Charlotte, Nyssa," Ace walks into her office and shuts the door before leaning against it and pressing her finger to her lips before biting them.
Out in the foyer Nyssa and Charlotte are still in place watching Graham nod their way before his turns and leave. "Did Dorothy just participate in some PDA?"
"Twice, a little walk she and Graham hadn't kissed, she comes back and it seems they have shared two in front of us." Nyssa is about to walk away.
"Nyssa."
"Yes," she turns around, "I have been fielding questions all day from reporters about what is going on with the situation."
"Thank you for telling me," Nyssa sighs, "I am going to have to bring Dorothy back down to earth." Ace feels the knocking on the door as she is still leaning against it. She turns around and opens the door.
"Nyssa," Ace looks at her face and sighs deeply, "what is it?"
"It has hit the news."
"Great."
"I'm sorry," Ace goes over to her desk and slumps into her chair.
"It's not your fault Nys, I am just glad I got some time in the sun with Graham."
"Speaking of that."
"He told me that he loves me, and I kissed him."
"D-what did you say back?" Ace's eyes go wide. "You did not did you. It is obvious you feel the same."
"How?"
"You are forgetting that I have been seeing the two of you together; you are always more relaxed when he is here."
"I am and he has made sure that this place is safe."
"We both have to warn them about what is going on."
"And our donors. I know what I would like to do first, but we should do business before pleasure."
"Ace."
"Yes, Nyssa."
"When you get frustrated just think of what happened today."
"With Graham?"
"Yes, the kiss and the 'L" world."
"I will." Ace picks up the phone and starts to dial. Throughout the day Charlotte comes by and hands both of them notes.
Meanwhile Graham is at home reading a book when his phone rings, "hello."
"Do you have the tv on?" He thinks he knows the voice, but his mind is still on the kiss.
"Tegan?"
"Graham, turn on the tv now!"
"Ok ok, I'll turn it on," Graham reaches for the remote, "what channel?"
"BBC One, it broke."
"You mean?"
"Yes."
"Oh Ace."
"And Nyssa, we will be even seeing them less now."
"I will still figure out a way to get there for lunch."
'We have a report that a man seems to have been coming and going everyday for lunch. That man was seen walking around today in the sun, even seen sharing a few kisses with him. Some may wonder if he is distracting her from what is going on.' The man on the news says.
"Tegan?"
"Do not go over there right now, wait for her to call you." She tries to give him some advice knowing what he wants to do. She wants to go over to the office too to help her wife and her friend, but knows she should stay put.
"We just had our first kiss today, after she asked me about what you said the other night and I told her that I loved her."
"You want to make sure she is alright."
"I do."
"She will call you."
"I know."
Back at A Charitable Earth, "Dorothy," Ace looks up to see Charlotte. "We are getting phone calls."
"Haven't we been getting them all day," asks Nyssa.
"Yes, but these ones are asking about the man Ace has been seen with today who also has been seen with coming and going a lot before today."
"You mean Graham."
"Yes, the news broke right after the two of you left, and some people saw the two of you kissing."
"Let me guess they said something misogynist like a woman can't have a relationship and a business at the same time."
"Some have been saying that, but most are just wondering who he is." The receptionist informs them on what all has been asked about Graham.
"My favorite part of the day is when he comes by with lunch," Ace adds with a sad smile knowing that might have to change.
"We know that and Tegan appreciates it as she can't get away from UNIT and Graham doesn't always work for them."
"I should call him."
"Tell him about the back entrance."
"The back entrance," Ace forgetting about that entrance, is reminded by Nyssa.
"We have one."
"I know, it's a fire escape, but Graham will make great use of it." Ace chuckles. "What are you laughing at?"
"If it was a high ground fire escape, I am imagining him shimming down one."
"I am sure you imagine shimmying along something else," Nyssa jokes.
"I have, but I have also imagined us living together, and being all domestic.
"You Ace McShane has dreamed about being domestic."
"It's not too shocking. I have been talking and getting to know Graham for the better part of a year, but I need to call him."
"Tell him you love him too." Nyssa picks up her phone to talk to Tegan.
