Diclaimer: i own nothing but i own Trepp
"A hunt?" nearly everyone yelled dramatically.
"Why not? He wants to do something other than sitting on his ass and watching TV. It's something i can respect if I'm being honest," Trepp admitted while shrugging his shoulders as if this was nothing out of the ordinary. "So I decided to let him go on a hunt for a little action and exercise."
"This is suicidal. There's no way I'm allowing one of my students," Aizawa snarled while glaring at their host. He won't sit by quietly and let his students run headfirst into danger if he had any say in it.
"That's right. This isn't something that we can allow," Allmight agreed without glaring at Trepp.
"You're all worried about nothing," Trepp shrugged.
"I think those two have a right to worry about the kid. You're talking about sending him on a hunt for a monster which we saw a good few could step on us or eat us easily," Manadaly yelled, wanting to throttle Trepp for this ridiculous idea. What she didn't know is that Trepp wouldn't stop her if she tried.
"You're making it sound like I'm sending him to be shot by a firing squad," Trepp calmly stated with a raised eyebrow.
"He has a better chance at surviving that," Izuku yelled back as he was worried for Kaachan.
"Shut it nerd. He asked me," Bakugo grunted as he walked in front of the otherworldly being. If he was being honest, the idea of hunting a monster excited him and he couldn't wait to actually do it. "When do I start?" Bakugo grinned confidently as small explosions went off in his hands.
"First of all you'll need to suit up," Trepp answered back as a portal-like doorway formed in front of them. Once the portal was large enough, everyone could see that it led to an armory of sorts with rows upon rows of monster armors and weapons they haven't seen before. "I know you're powerful and some hot shit, but if you accept then you play by mine and the guild's rules."
"And those are?" Bakugo grunted.
"Get in one of the armors and pick a weapon. I'll explain the rest afterwards," Trepp instructed as the explosive teen walked in and started to look around. "Just tell me when you're ready."
"Whatever," Bakugo replied as he disappeared into the rows of armor and looked at them closely. With that taken care of Trepp turned back towards the group and saw various emotions on everyone's faces ranging from worry, fear, and a good few with what could be described as hateful fury. "What?" Trepp asked.
"Is that all you can say? Just a simple 'what'," Aizawa said, his eyes glowing as if to intimidate the host.
"You're sending Young Bakugo to fight a monster. How can you not see that's a bad idea?" Allmight yelled as Izuku nodded, slightly worried about his former friend.
"Maybe you should be asking a different question," Trepp suggested as he looked at his fingernails.
"And that is?" Allmight asked.
"It shouldn't be why i'm doing it, but it should be what you gain from it," Trepp replied back as everyone stopped to think. "To reiterate, the students are learning about these monsters…"
"Cause you brought us here," Tiger said, stating the obvious.
"But just like their heroics classes," Trepp continued as if he didn't hear the only male of the WWP, "They should be able to try and practice what they learn."
"Are you saying we'll all be fighting monsters?" Mineta yelled in fear.
"I'm down for that," Kirashima admitted offhandedly.
"Not all of you, but I have plans for later," Trepp admitted with a mischievous glint in his eyes. The students couldn't tell why but they were sure the host of the theater was just as scary as their homeroom teacher. "And before anyone asks, this also could be a life lesson for your hero careers," Trepp suggested helpfully.
"You mean how to adapt to certain situations?" Iida asked as he remembered the first training lesson.
"Dealing with unfavorable situations?" Mirio guessed while scratching his head.
"That and to give you some well-deserved fighting experience," Trepp said as every student looked a bit confused. "Think about it, everyone knows the limitations of their own quirks, abilities and their attacks but a smart enough opponent can as well. This exercise is to help you deal with unknown variables that could pop up in your line of work and how you deal with them."
Everyone was ready to argue when they stopped and thought it over. There were times that they've had surprises happen which weren't expected in either the tournament or the train exercises they did. This did give them an idea that this could help them think outside the box in a manner of speaking.
"Will he get hurt?" Kota asked, not out of worry but to quiet him down. Even the kid thought he was too loud.
"Hopefully his ego takes a hit," Jiro muttered to Denki who had to stop himself from laughing out loud.
"How much do you wanna bet Bakugo will blow a fuse after this?" Mina quietly challenged her classmates.
"Suckers bet," was the unanimous answer of most of the group.
"Worry not. He'll be in one piece after all this for the most part," Trepp said as a few eyes narrowed at him, catching a subtle contradiction to the statement. They were about to argue some more when someone clears their throat and gains everyone's attention.
"That sounds like an excellent idea," Nezu complimented from his seat with everyone's eyes on him.
"You approve of this?" Pixie asked, looking at the tiny principal in shock.
"While I don't approve of the method, he does raise a point," Nezu pointed out, "And is it any different from how we teach? Or how we conduct the entrance exam?"
"For starters we don't send our students to fight living creatures that can swallow them whole," Aizawa argued with the blonde number one hero nodding.
"Definitely glad we have robots then," Sero muttered as to not be heard with Mineta and Denki barely nodding
"I wouldn't mind trying if possible," Shoto admited.
"Oh ye of little faith. Give me some credit and watch what your student can do. You may even learn something these videos can't teach you," Trepp said as a portal opened up, allowing the group to look inside. They all watched in anticipation as Bakugo walked out of the portal not wearing his school uniform but an armor set they haven't seen before. Gone were the school trousers, blazer, shirt and tie and now the explosive teen was wearing what could be described as red and black organic looking Samurai/ninja armor with a half mask shaped like a wolf muzzle on his face. On his back were a pair of battle axes with glowing edges
"I see this one is to your liking?" Trepp asked
"It's the only fucking armor I liked that I could move in. Can't believe how heavy a few of them were," Bakugo growled, adjusting the strap of his armor, "And how does this Armor even fit me?"
"Magic," Trepp sarcastically stated with a dry tone "I had all of them fitted to be a one size fits all with a few other features added in.
"Really?" Denki asked, his eyes wide as even Nejire's eyes sparked in amazement.
Everyone, Trepp included, stared at the blonde for a few seconds as if he said something crazy which he kinda did. Deciding against giving a sarcastic answer that a brown color spanish robot would approve, Trepp tapped the edge of the table near him as and a few scrolls of parchment appeared in thin air.
"That's such cool armor. I'd kill for something like that," Denki said with a large smile on his face.
"No you wouldn't," Jiro countered.
"Yeah I wouldn't," Denki muttered as his shoulders sagged.
"The armor does seem a bit light and looks like it doesn't restrict movement at all," Shinso said as a few thoughts were running through his head. Mainly if he should get some armor for his hero outfit.
"And it's made from a monster! Does this mean we can make our own armor? Maybe weapons? Too many ideas for new babies to make," Mei gushed as she examining the armor.
"Is that all you can think about?" Iida asked, bewildered by a schoolmate's thought process.
"Of course. I'm only thinking about the future and all that will use my babies to their hearts' content," Mei stated proudly, dumbfounding practically everyone in this room. Even the resident pervert Mineta looked at her like she was crazy.
"I'm not sure whether to be amazed by her dedication or creeped out by what she just said. Her talks about her inventions are weirding me out," Sero deadpanned.
"You get use to it," Izuku, Ururka, Iida groaned as Their three upperclassmen patted their backs simpathetically.
"So to explain these hunts I have a few you can choose from that require different requirements to complete," Trepp explained as a few scrolls floated before the class.
"And how are they classified?" Yuga asked while a certain green haired student scribbled in his notebook.
"Mostly depends on the situation, like one could be a simple farmer wanting you to get a few eggs, hunting a specific monster, capturing a monster, fighting in an arena just to name a few specifics," Trepp explained with everyone watching.
"How does hunting and capturing work? Shouldn't they be the same thing?" Mineta inquired.
"Capturing means just capturing a certain monster, it's mostly for research purposes while hunting could be just killing or capturing a monster," Trepp said with a slightly bored look.
"But wouldn't it be better to capture them?" Koda asked.
"Big guy's right. Isn't it a bit cruel?" Mina stated.
"Some just can't be captured like Elder Dragons," Trepp answered simply, "with that said I was able to pick out a few that'll be a fair challenge with them just being simple captures. Think of it like one of your training exercises."
"What an excellent idea. Aizawa, please take notes and grade them if you desire. This could be implemented to our exams," Nezu commented a bit sadistically causing everyone to shiver. Not only were the students learning about monsters and possibly fight them, but now they'll be possibly graded on this.
"You do you. Now all we need to do is to pick which one Bakugo will hunt," Trepp said as he pointed at a few scrolls, "There are a few easy ones here that're at your certain skill level."
"Are you saying they're weak?" Bakugo growled accusingly.
"Not at all, I merely picked at the ones that could challenge you at your current level. I wouldn't dream of giving you some monster that was weak and pathetic or even ridiculous looking," Trepp drawled on as if not hiding his own agenda for the fight. Just as he gestured to the scrolls so the explosion quirked teen can pick a hunt. "For these hunts, you must capture the monster chosen with any equipment you can bring with you and any supplies you can find in the field."
Everyone listened and waited to hear more from their host, but got only an odd look. "….is that it?" Iida asked, feeling the explanation was a bit short.
"That's it. You just have to capture them after you fight them. I'm sure i don't need to get any sort of graphs, pie charts, or examples to explain a weakened opponent is easy to capture than a well rest and ready to fight opponent," Trepp explained as many nodded at that logic. Even Bakugo agreed to it since his usual style was beat it till it dies sort of thing.
"So how do we capture them? I mean it's not like we can catch them with a net or something," Shoto inquired since these monsters were bigger than most cars and trucks.
"Please tell me it's a quick and easy thing," Mineta begged while his knees shock. While he wouldn't mind doing one of these hunts as well, the purpled haired midget knew he would be swallowed whole if he wasn't careful.
"Sadly it isn't my short friend," Trepp replied instantly and unremorsefully
"You just had to go there," Mineta grumbled.
"But you need to weaken it, have it land on one of the two traps provided, then use tranquilizer bombs on it," Trepp continued as he ignored Mineta's comment.
"Of course it couldn't be easy," Aizawa muttered, shaking his head slightly.
"For Pro Heroes, it shouldn't be that much of a challenge for us," Allmight said out loud.
"Says the one who was able to launch a villain into the atmosphere easily," Mandalay pointed out as Allmight coughed.
"I wouldn't worry about your students. These monsters aren't outside of their level or expertise," Trepp answered sincerely as he tapped the scrolls yet againTh as something odd was heard. Normally all you could hear in the room was the breath escaping the lips of someone or the voices of whoever was talking. But this time it was different.
A ring tone of the song Oh Death by Khemmis.
With a sigh escaping his lips, Trepp took out a phone from his pocket and pressed the call button while saying, "Hello?"
"YOU'LL GIVE HIM THE HUNT I CHOOSE," a loud voice yelled from the phone causing Trepp to move it away in surprise.
"Hello Katana. How's everything going? Are you kids still doing their own hunts?" Trepp asked sarcastically
"Nevermind the pleasantries, just do it," Katana yelled from the other side of the phone.
"…Fine, I owe you anyways," Trepp groaned as he didn't want to argue anymore.
"You're welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of this slaughter- I mean, hunt!" Katana quickly corrected herself.
"Did she say slaughter?" Mineta yelled accusingly.
"I'll send the recording later," Trepp promised as he ended the call. Sighing to himself, he turned and looked at the confused group and said, "Don't worry about that."
"But she said," Ojiro started to say.
"Don't worry about it cause Bakugo is starting his hunt now and you'll be timed," Trepp said as Bakugo disappeared before he could utter a single word of protest and walked back to his seat and snapped his fingers. In an instant the screen showed Bakugo appearing out of a tent and looking confused and slightly annoyed.
"Are we seriously gonna ignore who Trepp was talking to?"
"I don't know who that was, and I don't wanna find out,"
"I just hope kaachan is fine,"
"I wanna see what he's hunting," Kota said excitedly st the prospect of Bakugo get the hurt and seeing a new monster. Eri nodded slightly as she thought he was too loud for her liking, but didn't voice anything.
Scene change: ?
"FUCK IT'S WINDY," Bakugo growled loudly as he walked out the tent and into a decent sized camping area in a cave like structure with a make shift oven off to the side. He walked towards the entrance as his eyes were assaulted by a blinding light while took in the scenary. From what he could see he was on the edge of a cave as he saw a canyon bellow him that looked like an underwater ocean floor with coral covering areas of it.
"Guess this is my hunting grounds but what the hell am I after?" Bakugo grumbled as he saw various birds fly by.
"I'll tell you once you find it," Trepp's voice answered from the helmet.
"So how do I hunt this thing then?" Bakugo demanded as he hated this cryptic bullshit.
"Just get down there and start looking for animal markings. You can't miss them," Trepp instructed. as Bakugo rolled his eyes and jumped. With the wind rushing by him and the ground getting closer, the explosive teen had his hands pointing towards the ground and let off a series of explosions which slowed his descent allowing him to land on his feet. Now that he was on the ground, Bakugo looked around and noticed how odd the area was with some of the grass moving in a weird pattern.
"This is just weird," Bakugo muttered.
"Kaachan, to your right. There's something about five yards away." Izuku's voice called out.
"Now the nerd?" Bakugo groaned, feeling this would get annoying.
"Ignore him, just look for clues and follow the trail. The clock's ticking," Trepp instructed once more as Bakugo grumbled and looked in the direction Izuku pointed out. He noticed something was odd and walked towards the area to see what they were talking about, noticing large gashes on the ground. He knelt down, running his armored hand over it and examined that it was cleanly made and seemed recent. Looking to his left, as clear as day, more gashes and broken pieces of coral were leading away from the area. As he walked around and took in the scenery, he made sure to be mindful of his surroundings as velociraptors were seen running away from something.
"Ignore them, they're not worth the effort or time right now," Trepp instructed as Bakugo continued on his way and finding vines draped over a cliff. Taking a running start, he jumped letting off a few explosions to propel himself to a larger deserted area with a few paths there.
With different choices in front of him, Bakugo took a step forward as his ears twitched at the sound of wings flapping and getting closer to him. He turned towards the sound in time to see something flying at him with claws raised to spear him though luckily Bakugo was able to doge out of the way in time. He tried to stand up and face whatever was attacking him head on when a long finned tail hit his chest and sent him tumbling a few yards away.
Shaking off the numb stinging feeling away, Bakugo finally stood up and glared at his attack as he snarled at the monster in front of him. Glaring back at him was a large blue and yellow scaled dragon with two long quills adoring its head, a thin body structure, and a large wingspan for its body. The monster seemed to glare back at the hero in training with such hatred that Bakugo was starting to get annoyed by it.
"Well you found your monster faster than i thought you would," Trepp's voice congratulated, "Meet the Legiana, your prey. Work fast, tick tock."
"You might wanna update its name cause it's about to be DEADMEAT!" Bakugo yelled excitedly, propelling himself toward the monster with a series of explosions.
The Legiana watching the intruder getting closer flapped its wings a bit and roar, making the student flinch from the piercing sound.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP," Bakugo yelled as the monster's caused his ears to ring.
With the human stunned, the dragon-like monster took the opportunity to flap its wings and take a page out of Bakugio's book and propel itself forward with a spin. As it got closer to the student, it released ice crystals that sparkled in the air like a dazzling mist and hit the wannabe hunter full force sending him stumbling back. Rolling onto his back and jumping back to his feet, Bakugo raised his arms forwards and launched a large explosion at the monster. Luckily for the explosive teen his attack hit the monster dead on, causing it to cry out in pain.
Smirking to himself, Bakugo tried getting in close again and tried beating this Legiana down with another explosion but at point blank range.
Unfortunately for the hero student, the monster saw the attack coming and released a stream of ice from its mouth. The cold attack hit the teen who couldn't dodge, making his armor chill and frost over a bit.
"Fuck this thing is worse than Icy-Hot," Bakugo groaned while trying to shake off the cold feeling. Strangely enough the feeling was going away and tried using his explosions with not happening. "The hell?" Bakugo muttered as he remembered feeling his quirk not working when his sensei stopped him.
"Yeah, I didn't tell you this but the armor you have is a bad matchup for a Legiana. And on top of that you got affected by iceblight," Trepp answered as helpfully as he could care to do.
"Iceblight? What's that gotta do with my quirk?" Bakugo yelled as he dodged an icy tail slam,
"It means that you'll feel a bit weaker and you can't sweat, canceling out your quirk for awhile. Lucky you that you have another way to fight," Trepp Replied once more.
Gritting his teeth in anger, Bakugo reached around his back and pulled the two axes free and held them firmly in his hands. "Let's see what these can do," Bakugo smirked as if challenging the monster in front of him.
Watching the human raise his weapons towards it, the Legiana roared once more and flew towards him to attack once more with its talons. Dodging to the right, Bakugo rolled back to his feet and started to swing his axes at where the left wing was connected to the body. Not taking any chances, Bakugo wildly swung at the same area a few more times, making the monster cry out in pain.
A single flap of its wings pushed Bakugo away a bit as it took flight to get out of reach from the explosive teen.
"Keep attacking it. Get those wings. Get the tail," Nejire cheered while Bakugo started to run away from the monster as it chased him through the air.
"Try aiming for the head, you might be able to blind it," Momo suggested as the Legiana fired an arctic steam at the ground just as Bakugo used the vines near a wall to climb up quickly, escaping the attack.
"ALL OF YOU SHUT UP," Bakugo yelled as he climbed up the vines above the legiana. With a crazy idea in mind he jumped off the wall, letting go of the vines, letting gravity control his descent with his axes raised.
Not to allow the hunter to land on its back, the Legiana launched itself up towards Bakugo with its mouth open as if to bite the student in half. With both speeding at each other, Bakugo moved his arms down using the axes to strike the mouth causing an explosions and making the monster fall on its side.
"That wasn't my quirk?" Bakugo muttered as he watched the monster writhe in pain, "That wasn't even something I did."
"To answer your question, your weapon can cause some explosions every so often," Trepp answered honestly.
"Now you tell me?" Bakugo yelled as his eye twitched in annoyance.
"You never asked. Also watch out," Trepp instructed.
"Watch out?" Bakugo repeated as he looked at his prey and saw it turn to strike him with its whip like tail.
"DUCK," the teachers yelled as Bakugo flinched from the loud sound, but ducked the tail swipe in time.
"This is getting annoying," Bakugo growled, running back at the monster and trying to attack the limbs at random. With each strike, slash, and cut would cause a small explosion dealing more damage to the point the scales having gashes.
While the monster was taking damage, Bakugo started to feel tired and could hardly swing his weapon. Remembering that he had a few items in a pouch at his belt, he fumbled around trying to grab one to help him. "Where's that energy drink," Bakugo muttered as he pulled a potion and one other just as the Legiana's tail tripped him with another swipe.
Falling face first onto the coral-like ground with his weapons clanging on the ground, the pouch dropped as an energy drink landed a few feet away which he started to crawl towards. He grabbed the bottle in time and rolled to the side as an ice covered tail slammed where the bottom was leaving an frozen trail along the ground. After ripping open the tap of the bottle, Bakugo guzzled the drink down as fast as humanly possible while putting some distance between him and the monster.
With the contents of the bottle gone, the student turned hunter throw the bottle away and was surprised that he caused an explosion with his own hands. Grinning like a madman that just won the lottery, all Bakugo did was launch himself in the air and tried to use his signature move to try and end it.
"Howzer," Bakugo started to yell.
Seeing the attack coming, the Legiana flew into the air as an icy mist surrounded it while flying towards the teenage student.
"Impact," Bakugo yelled as the monster got closer. Explosion meet ice as the monster hit the teen head on with the explosion making a large cloud full of freezing cold ice floating around it with Bakugo flying out of the cloud and hitting a wall.
Groaning in pain, the UA student tried to stand as the Legiana walked out of the icey looking cloud and looked ready to attack to end the threat to its life.
"And times up," Trepp announced as Bakugo disappeared before the Legiana could deliver the final blow with its talons. With its prey gone, the monster looked around as if to check to see if any sneak attack would happen. With the danger gone, the monster took to the skies with a flap of its wings and made the journey back to their nest to recuperate.
Scene change: the theater
"Seriously, you couldn't have gotten Bagu-bro out of there sooner?" Kirashima asked as he watched his classmate disappear from the screen.
"Not like he doesn't deserve it," Tsuyu stated bluntly.
"He does talk a big game," Shoji admitted as the teachers were ready to say something when they stopped as the ash blonde did talk a big game a bit too much.
Just then Bakugo appeared in front of his classmates and teachers, shocking them a bit as he crumbled to the floor. No one could figure out if he was exhausted or just hurt from the hunt
"Will Kaachan be okay?" Izuku asked
"Shut….it…nerd," Bakugo groaned painfully.
"Oh, he's fine then," Uraraka said.
"Hate….you…..all," Bakugo replied slowly.
"Yeah he's fine," Mineta, Denki and Hanta snickered.
"He'll be fine after he drinks a few potions," Trepp said, "Then we'll get back to the video."
(Page break Page Break Page Break)
So this took longer than I wanted to admit but I moved in August of 2023, had to deal with getting 2 new jobs, moving around a few AirBnBs and some irl problems.
Fair warning, I'm not the best at action scenes but I tried and I'm happy with it. So please no flaming me, i suck at describing stuff in great detail.
Anyways I hope you enjoy and I wanna thank Katana for being a part of this chapter as a cameo.
