They all meet up after convincing topper at the train tracks, JJ and Kiara taking his bike and the rest of the gang in toppers car.
they needed a plan so JJ said "a chain. yeah. Get this my uncle would throw an old chain on the track and it would stop all the trains" "a chain" Kiara asks unconvinced, (poor science talk) "I know my science " Kiara looks at her boyfriend with a "really" face.
JJ and Kiara arrived where they were supposed to be.
"alrighty so just connect this and then this" "please don't get electrocuted" Kiara says and he responds "no promises" it's not working, JJ thinks and starts spitting out ideas, "a train touches both side of the tracks" Kiara says getting JJ out of his trance, "come on we don't have a plan B" Kiara says after she puts the other jumper cable on, the light flashes red and they both jump up, "Kiara you are a genius" "nah that was all you" they ran and hid behind a tree.
they hear the police and go to jump on the bike when something falls out of JJ's pocket, "you dropped your" she picks it up and realizes what it is "JJ why do you have this?" "If I'm gonna be accused of being a thief might as well get something out of it" JJ says, "your giving them ammunition" "ammunition for what Kie" JJ says getting frustrated "they didn't have a reason, your giving them a reason." "That's them" JJ said seeing toppers truck go by, "get on" he says and she says "no JJ" "we don't have time for this get on the damn bike Kie" she reluctantly gets on the bike.
"Jump" JJ says "what! Are you crazy" "probably get ready to jump" she successfully jumps onto the truck.
he's gonna get himself killed, Kiara thinks as they chase him down.
everything seems to happen in slow motion, she hears Sarah say "no way he's on the overpass" then his bike came crashing down, Kiara's heart stopped, "pope go!" She pushes pope out so she can find him, "jayg" she whispers then yells "JJ!" No response, she starts hyperventilating, he can't be dead, "no no no no" she says crouching down trying to catch her breath when she hears, "I wish I could say I did that on purpose, but that was the gnarliest power slide I've ever done" Kiara registers everyone hugging him but she can't take her eyes off his face, he's alive, she slowly walks up to him "don't, don't ever do that again" he just looks down then opens his mouth to respond but the police yell at us so we jump in the car.
Kiara doesn't talk to him doesn't even look at him just asks topper to drop her off at her parents house and sits there in silence. She doesn't even say goodbye.
the next day. Kiara's parents are telling her to stay away from JJ, well more like her dad yelling at her. She sees Sarah at the door before she knocks "I got it" (ps I hate the whole topper thing so I'm gonna make Kiara's parents let Sarah stay!) "hey Sarah" "I'm sorry if it's a bad time" Sarah says in a shaky voice. "No worries" "well John B and me got into a fight" "yeah he's been super weird since his dad got back" Kiara validates Sarah, "well I don't have anywhere to stay" Kiara's parents come in saying no, "wait here a second" Kiara closes the door and turns to her parents, "ok JB is being a total dick Rafe hates Sarah and Popes parents are already letting Cleo stay and well JJ is staying at John B's, she has no where else to stay." Kiara's parent sigh "fine but she goes upstairs and we finish this talk" her mom says.
after the talk Kiara walked upstairs to her room. As soon as she enters it she groans and falls onto her bed. "So JJ stole money from your dad" Sarah says, "yeah and he justified it" Kiara says and Sarah asks "how?" "Well it's a bit justified. My dad said JJ just like Luke" Sarah gasped, Sarah didn't know much about Luke other than he hit JJ. "I would have done it too, but it still was wrong and he didn't even apologize after-" Kiara pauses "everything we have all been through" she says not wanting to spill the secret that fast. "Look Kie, JJ will eventually apologize so just wait him out" Kiara huffs, and says frustrated "I'm just so tired of him running away" tears threaten to spill so she covers her face with her hands. She feels Sarah's hand on her shoulder, "look Kie, I don't know what's happening between you and JJ but you need to talk to him" Kiara sighs "I know" she picks up her phone and texts him "we need to talk" and he answers with "I know. And I'm sorry I'll explain more when I get to your place" "come through the window" he sends a winky face which she giggles at, "so?" "He said he's coming over and he's sorry and will say more when he gets here" Sarah nods.
Kiara and Sarah talk until they see JJ in the window and Sarah goes downstairs.
"so" "we need to make this quick" JJ says "rafe burned down the gold and pope has a gun and we are looking for him." Kiara gasps slightly, "JJ go look for him come over later tonight" he nods and turns to leave before saying, "I am so sorry. I lashed out and I shouldn't have done that" he kisses her before climbing back out the window. Kiara turns around to see Sarah staring at her mouth open in shock.
