Author's Note: I said I'd do a double upload of this fic and I meant it. I honestly never thought I'd ever do a double update again. I haven't done it since.. maybe back in 2012-13ish, a long time before Rebooted. Of course those days are obviously so painfully cringe since I was in a self insert x Zane shipping phase where that SI was transported from reality to the show dimension or someone with amnesia. Those days are so cringe-worthy but I do have to accept the fact that if it weren't for baby writer me being cringe, I most likely wouldn't even be here.

I'm getting off track again. Sorry about that.

Anyways, I hope you guys like the chapter. R&R. Enjoy!

Chapter 4: Found

Relief couldn't possibly describe how she felt when she saw him. It definitely didn't describe how she felt while holding him, confirming that he was real and not some illusion thrown in her face to mock her hopes. Sam couldn't help it when she held him tight and buried her face into his chest, not paying the studded leather vest any mind.

"I've found you. I've really found you." Her voice was shaky and tears were already slipping. She pulled away, trying not to be rude and soak anything of his. She proceeded to use one of her sleeved forearms to wipe her tears away before anymore came out.

"I can't believe it... It's been so long and you're here... You're actually here. You're alive." She went on.

Meanwhile Cole felt.. honestly freaked out. How could he not be? A stranger just ran up to him out of nowhere after he was chasing a Serpentine, losing that snake, and claims to know him. For all he knew this could've been a trick from the snakes themselves.

"I'm sorry." He apologized, "Do I know you?"

He wanted to play along if it were a trick from the Serpentine but with the way her expression changed, how the color seemed to have drained from her form entirely, he could tell this wasn't a bluff... which freaked him out in his mind a bit more.

"Cole, it's me.. I'm Sam. Don't you remember me?" She asked.

Cole looked even more confused and there was a bit of discomfort with the close distance and Sam still holding him with. Sam noticed and pulled away entirely, almost shaky in her steps.

"I.. I don't." He replied. He really didn't remember her? Why didn't he- She almost felt entirely stupid in a matter of seconds.

'Of course. That's why. He got-' She thought to herself but that thought was interrupted by the roaring sound of a jet flying towards them. She covered her ears upon the loud noise and her eyes were forced shut when there was a flash of blue light.

"Cole! We were supposed to meet up a bit ago. What happened- Whoa! Who is this? A fan of yours? Are you finally growing your fan-base to beat Kai's?" Sam watched as a Ninja in blue went beside Cole in a quick stride.

"No, she's.. I mean I think she is but.. ah.." Cole still felt shock from the whole thing. Why was he being thrown off so easily lately? It's so bizarre. He usually would never be that way. He's always been so rock solid and steady on his feet.

"It's.." He heard her speak once more, her voice was soft and low, but still audible. "It's nothing. I just.."

Sam felt crushed. She must've looked crushed too if Cole expressing a wince meant anything. What was she supposed to say now? There wasn't anything left.

"Look. Sam, is it?" She nodded. "I'm sorry if you confused me for someone else. I hope you'll find them soon." Cole nodded and turned away, dragging Jay by the arm before the bluebird got to squawking.

'I already did..' She kept the thought to herself, 'but he doesn't remember me.'

Who was she kidding? She should've figured out the possibility of any case of amnesia, especially after... She stopped her thoughts, wanting to stay far away from those painful memories. The brunette looked up and felt her lungs tighten and her eyes beginning to water. Through blurred vision, she watched him walk away.

'No... no no no... No, please don't go. Don't leave please.' She wanted to beg but no words ever came out. No sound actually left her while she cried silently.

'Was that it? Was it all for nothing?' Doubts crept up in her mind and she could barely manage to keep the tears in anymore just when the two Ninja members disappeared.

Despite the weather saying it was going to be windy, it was oddly so silent this time.

It was all silent until a hiss grabbed at his attention.

"My king." Pythor picked his head up and turned to see a lime green Venomari man.

His scales lost its luster shine from his youth, he was scarred up almost intensely, even around his snout where his fangs used to be. He had to have them removed because they got so badly busted up in the Serpentine War by a pair of twins. If Pythor heard through the grapevine right when warriors were trading stories back during the First Serpentine War, then he would know that one of those twins, a long-haired one, had used some wooden rake he snatched from a farmer's yard and proceeded to bash this Venomari back during the days when he was younger. That human would've smashed his face in with a farming tool if his brother didn't need immediate medical attention from getting slashed by an ax laced with the hallucinatory venom this Serpentine wielded. At least, that's what Pythor heard.

"What is it, my subject?" The snake king hissed back.

The Venomari serpent's eyes looked up to him, pulling back the translucent third eyelid off all of them, showing a shade of yellow instead of them looking milky and grayed out.

"I had seen something. A girl. A human," Pythor nearly wanted to roll his own eyes at him but then the Venomari added in, "She had a jade-bladed bow."

The Anacondrai stopped almost everything entirely and his fangs bared at the shorter serpentine.

"Are you certain?" He set his tribe's staff aside.

"Do most Venomari have four eyes?" The older Venomari warrior spat back, despite the lack of his fangs and the venom gland that had to be removed to not drool everywhere. Of course that venom was put to good use.

"Excuse me, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Don't things like the Jade Blades come from the bones of an Anacondrai when they're refined?" Skales hissed.

"If so," The Fangpyre general, Fangtom added with both of his heads speaking one after another, "what's a human girl doing with them?"

Pythor growled in a low tone and hissed in frustration at their questions before putting the pieces together. A devious hum rolled in his snout.

"So... she is alive after all. I had my suspicions for a long time."

Skales looked confused. "She? Who is she?" Didn't Pythor tell him everything? Shouldn't he know more about the Anacondrai before him? He was his second in command, his right hand and yet there were things he didn't know?

"My king?"

"Skales, arrange for a small handful of serpentine to find this girl and bring her to me. Do not let them return unless they have her in their possession." He ordered. "I wish to see this girl for myself."

Skales backed up when Pythor leaned his head in a little too uncomfortably close. He held back his tongue from flicking in the air around the Anacondrai, trying to not smell the stench of death on him. He did come from a tomb where all the others died. The tomb hadn't even been open for long and no one would dare go into them, yet somehow a human has her hands on some jade-bladed weapon?

'It doesn't make sense,' The Hypnobrai thought. 'Perhaps Pythor isn't entirely honest.'

"Yes, sire." Skales hissed in agreement and bowed, turning his body around and slithering away. He might as well go through with the orders. It might bring some answers to light if he did get this special human here.

Pythor watched as he went away and dismissed the Venomari warrior as well. The king of snakes grabbed at the staff, holding it up to look into the venom as a reflection.

"It remains to be seen if that human pet of ours has survived," He spoke to it softly, "If it is her, then we are almost guaranteed our victory.. That Ninja group and those humans will never see it coming." He chuckled mildly in the dark room.

EDIT: I know it looks a bit more stretched out than it previously did, but I can at least read the dialogue without feeling like it's bunched up. Don't have much else to say. Hope you guys have a good one today.

Author's Note: The chapter feels a little shorter than intended but again, once more I had a short premise and the second half was literally thrown in at the last second to fill in some space. I think it sets up what's going to happen in the next couple of chapters nicely. Be prepared for more action! (Mostly telling myself that cause good lord it's a lot.)

Well, again, I hope you guys enjoyed. If you did please leave any comment down below. I'd love to hear it.
