Elena was sleeping but awoke. Someone jumped on top of her, and she panicked. She looks up and sees her best friend.
Caroline Salvatore grinned at her. "Jeez, why did you wake me up that way?" Elena asks while rubbing her eyes and stretching her body.
Elena glares at her, "May I ask you why you decided to wake me up at Seven o'clock? " She asks, annoyed as she looks at her alarm clock.
Caroline rolls her eyes, " Damon wants to go early because he's meeting Katherine because, you know, she's the love of his life and all." She says sarcastically.
Elena was about to respond when she heard a voice in the hallway: " I can hear you!" Damon says, and you can listen to that. He is very irritated. Elena knew that tone was never a good sign.
Damon and Elena are very close and have always been there for each other.
Elena and Caroline have been best friends since they were three. They have been inseparable.
Their families were close and lived next to each other, but something changed when Elena's dad, Grayson, lost his job.
Let's start with the sister and brother, Damon and Caroline Salvatore.
Damon is a year older; he's eighteen, and she's seventeen. She's a junior like Elena, and Damon is a senior.
Since Caroline and Damon were born, they have been inseparable. They did everything together when they were little until they met Elena.
Caroline could talk to Damon about anything, and he would do the same to her. Another big thing about them is big arguments. When they got into big fights, it was never pretty.
Damon is more stubborn than anyone. He doesn't want to admit what's right or anything.
Damon is in denial about many things, but when things happen to him.
If something traumatic happens to him or someone hurts him. He acts like Nothing has happened.
He struggles with a lot of mental health, but He felt damaged for a long time. He's been hiding something that no one knows, and he told himself he would keep it hidden from this day. Damon, he's one of a kind.
Caroline is another story with their family.
She has never been easy with them. How would you describe her? She's very energetic, and she can judge easily.
She has never believed in love. She thought love was pointless because it would backfire whenever she opened it to someone.
She thinks people are cruel and selfish because they hurt her badly. She's afraid to open up and has been physically and mentally damaged by many people. They cheated on her, humiliated, some hit her, and one told her darkest secrets, which made her not believe in love.
When someone has something hidden, it bothers them, and when you keep things inside, like for Damon and Caroline. The big question is what is going on in Elena's life.
I guess we will find out soon.
Elena was thinking about everything through the years with Caroline and Damon. Elena wished to tell him her feelings but knew he would never go for her. Damon goes for popular girls like Katherine Pierce. She knew her life would never be easy, and she would never find love.
Caroline is waving her hand in front of her face, " Hey, Lena! Come on, get up!" Caroline yells Impatiently.
Elena rolls her eyes, " Okay, Jeez. I'm getting up. I'll be ready in a couple of minutes. " She says as she watches Caroline get out of her bed.
" Thank you!" She says as she leaves the bedroom.
Elena jumps out of Caroline's bed, walks by the bathroom, grabs the doorknob, and opens it to reveal Damon in only a towel.
His eyes widen, "I'm sorry!" She says as she rushes out of there.
Elena could hear him calling her, but she didn't want to have that conversation.
Elena comes running into Caroline's bedroom and slams the door. She's breathing heavily. She looks up and sees Caroline raising her eyebrows at her.
"What happened?" Caroline asks suspiciously.
Elena sighed when she didn't want to have this conversation. " I went to the bathroom, and. Damon was wearing a towel." She admits.
Caroline's eyes widen. " How did that go?" she asks while laughing a little.
Elena rolls her eyes, " Not funny, Care. I mean, what if it's awkward now?" She says, worried.
Caroline shakes her head, "It will be fine. Just get dressed, and let's go. " Caroline says as she leaves the room.
Elena sighs, trying to forget what just happened.
Some of her clothes are in Caroline's room because she's there half the time.
Elena grabs her lacy dark blue Bra and panties, hooks her Bra, and slides her panties on her body.
Elena enters her closet, holds a black tank top off a hanger, and pulls it on her body. Her eyes caught a dark blue knitted shoulder jumper. She takes it off the hanger and pulls it over her head. Then she closes the closet and walks over to the dressers. She opens the jean's chests, grabs dark blue skinny jeans, pulls them up her body and buttons, and zips them up. Then, she sits on the bed, holds black ankle socks, and slides them on her feet. Then, on the side of the bed are her black wedges. She grabs them, puts them on each of her feet, and zips them up. She gets off the bed and grabs her warm black winter coat with soft fur on the hood. She puts it on, zips it up, grabs her bag, and leaves the room.
Outside of the house:
Elena is walking down the stairs and sees Caroline in the car; she is already on her way to the car when someone grabs her arm, and she turns, revealing Damon.
She suddenly feels uncomfortable, " Um. You're in a hurry, so we should be going." She says as she tries to get away.
Damon chuckles, " Lena, I've known you were six, and I was seven. I know when you feel uncomfortable. So, tell me, what's going on?" he asks as he faces her.
She shrugs, "Nothing is going on. Can we go to school? " She says as she looks down and bites her lip.
Damon was watching what she was doing. " Is it because of the bathroom incident?" he asks as her eyes get wide fast.
" Let's not talk about it. " Elena said quickly.
He sighs, " Why not? You are my girl's best friend, and you know Klaus and Stefan. So, we've been through the worst. I mean, remember that time you walked in on Katherine and me? Also, that other time I walked in on you wearing just Bra and panties-" She cut him off.
She puts her hands up for him to be quiet, "Okay, we are best friends and talk about everything. Just shut up about those times. " She says thoughtfully.
He chuckles, " No problem, Lena. " He says as she nods.
Then he grabs her waist and hugs her tightly, and she hugs him back, puts her head on his shirt, and she can spell him, and he smells perfect. Elena knew this was not a good thing what she was thinking.
She pulls away from the hug, and she looks and sees their faces are an inch apart from each other, " Ready to go to school? "She asks, and he nods.
" Let's go," he says as they walk towards his blue Chevrolet Camaro Convertible.
When they both enter the front seats, Caroline looks at them and asks, "What happened back there?" Caroline asks.
"Nothing, Care. We had an issue, and we worked it out. " Damon says casually.
"Okay, that would be weird if something happened between you two. " Caroline says sarcastically.
" We know; we have been best friends our whole lives. " Damon said.
" Of course, it would be strange." She says she hides a secret from both and would never tell them. She knew she could say to her.
" So, let's get off this topic and go to school. " Damon says, changing the subject.
" Okay, Perfect," Elena says as Damon drives out of the driveway and on their way to school.
Fifteen Minutes Later:
Damon pulls up to his spot in the parking lot. He parks the car. He turns towards Caroline and Elena as he takes the keys out of the engine.
" Okay, let's go; I must talk to Katherine." He says coldly. She knew something terrible was about to happen when they opened those doors.
Elena was about to say something to him, and then she looked over and saw he was already out of the car.
She looks over at Caroline, "Is Damon?
Okay? Because he seems a little angry today. Did anything happen to Katherine?" she asks, concerned.
Caroline raises her eyebrows, " They broke up last night; that's all I know. He just said she did something terrible. " She says, and Elena's eyes widen.
"What?" She asks as she watches Elena jump out of the car.
"I think he's going do something. Let's go inside. ' Elena says, and Caroline nods and races inside the school.
Damon is at his locker getting his English belongings, and in his other arm, he has a box filled with Katherine's belongings. He closes his locker and makes his way to Katherine's locker. He sees her talking to her best friend, Bonnie. Katherine's eyes widen when she sees him.
Damon smirked, "Well, Katherine, you're talking about how I caught you in a bed with Lexi?" He smirks and glares at her.
She gulps, "Damon, look, I can explain-" Damon cuts her off.
He chuckles, "Explain? Explain that you cheated on me and hurt me!" He gets right in her face, and his blue eyes turn cold right into her brown ones.
Her eyes started to water. "I loved you so much, but I realized something deep down. I'm into girls, and I've been hiding it my whole life, and I'm not going pretending who I am or who people want me to be!" She screams and glares at him.
His eyes get wide, " Well, you should have figured it out before you fucking cheated on me!" He yells in her face and draws attention to Elena, Caroline, Klaus, Stefan, Tyler, and Haley.
She glares at him, gets the blood boiling inside, holds her arm, and slaps him real hard against the fast, " I cheated on you, who cares! Everyone knows you're in love with Elena fucking Gilbert! " She gets in his face, and her eyes look like there was a fire in them.
It felt like the world had stopped, and Nothing would ever be the same.
Damon turned his head and saw all his friends look right at him, shocked and not saying anything, which meant talking to them would be a very long conversation.
He grabs Katherine and slams her into the locker, and she shrieks, " Back off, or it won't end well next time you cross me. " He says as he grabs the box and shoves it into her arms, walking away, leaving everyone speechless.
