January 15, 2017 (Monday). 7:45 Am.
Elena looks at everyone, and they are raising their eyebrows at her. She knew she was about to get a lecture.
"What?" She asks because she just wanted to get this over with.
Haley and Caroline look at Klaus, Tyler, and Stefan and say, "Why don't you guys find Damon because he probably needs you guys right now?" Caroline says, and they both nod and walk away.
When they both walk away, Caroline grabs Elena's arm while Haley tags along. And Caroline pulls them into the cafeteria, and they all sit down. Elena does not even do anything, and she knows that Damon is not in love with her.
Caroline grabs Elena's hand. "Do you need to tell me anything?" Caroline asks with a serious look on her face.
"No, but do you need to ask me anything?" she asks with her eyebrows up.
Caroline huffs, "Has anything ever happened between you and Damon?" She asks, curiosity.
Elena rolls her eyes because she has a big crush on Damon but will never try anything. "I believe you, but if you both lie to me, it will not end well for either of you. "She says and then gets up, leaving Haley and Elena speechless.
Meanwhile:
Stefan, Klaus, and Tyler find Damon outside by the stoner pit and see him vaping, and he looks fucking pissed. Damon looked so pale that he seemed so angry. They walk up to him and hope this goes well, but they never know about Damon.
They all sit beside him; Damon rolls his eyes, "What do you want?" He says coldly.
They knew this was going to be a fantastic conversation.
Damon and Stefan have been best friends since elementary school and know each other well. They have had difficulties but are always there for each other.
Klaus and Damon have known each other since birth and do everything together. Spend the night at each other's houses, get drunk, get stoned, and help each other out with almost everything.
They see each other as brothers, and nothing will ever change that. Whenever he has a bunch of serious stuff going on in his life, he can mostly count on Stefan and Klaus because Tyler and Damon have a complicated relationship.
Tyler and Damon's families have known each other for years, and they were close when they were nine. Something bad happened.
Damon never forgave him, and to get back at Tyler, he had sex with his girlfriend at the time, Sybil, and he did not care that he did it. They were sleeping together for six months. After Tyler found out they got into this huge fight, he broke Tyler's nose, and they stopped talking for a while. But they resolved it, but it is still rocky.
Stefan and Tyler look at each other, "We'll give you guys space so you can talk." They both tell Klaus and Damon; they nod their heads and then walk off, leaving them time alone.
Klaus looks at Damon, and they sit on the bench, "So, what's up? What is going on? "Klaus asks, really concerned.
Damon sighs and runs his fingers through his black hair, "I've loved Katherine so much, but she cheated on me with a girl. Then. She mostly blamed me for being in love with Elena. "He scoffs.
Klaus raises his eyebrows, "Are you?" He clears his throat, looks at Damon, and sees his face change, "Are you in love with her?" He asks.
"No, I only see her as my best friend. Nothing will ever happen between us, that's for sure." Damon says that no one knew that someone had heard everything he had said, and they would remember what they said because it could be good or bad for both of them.
Back with Elena:
Elena's sitting by her locker, writing in her journal, and she feels someone watching her. She lifts her head and sees Landon, the new guy, but they are friends. She stands up and approaches him, "Hey, what's up?" She asks and smiles at him.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to date tonight?" He asks and smiles at her because he has had a massive crush on her since he met her.
Elena knew her crush on Damon would never go away, but she had let go and started living her life, and she believed she could be happy.
Elena smiles wide, "I'd love to go out with you; how about Saturday?" She asks while playing with her hair.
"Sounds great." He says, smiles at her, and walks away.
Elena knew this would be a good start to something good in her life.
Elena grabbed her stuff and went to English class. She was unaware that Damon had seen the whole thing, but he felt something weird in his chest, and he wished he had never seen that because of that hurt.
At Caroline's After School: (3:12 Pm).
Elena and Caroline were in her room doing homework because they wanted to get it over with and do whatever they wanted to with their night. Elena clears her throat, "So Landon asks me out," She says, breaking the silence.
Caroline smiles, "Really, he's had a massive crush since you met. "She confesses.
Elena's eyes widened, "Wait?"
She asks. Caroline raises her eyebrows, "You didn't know?" She asks.
Elena shakes her head. "I had no clue how he felt about me. I thought he just liked me a little, but I didn't know it was when we met," Elena confesses.
Caroline giggles. "Girl, you didn't notice when he would get you your favorite blizzard daily because he knew you like cheesecake blizzards. That is sweet because Landon cares about you. He always wants to see you, and it is excellent that it will be starting something. I am happy for you. "Caroline says with a big grin on her face.
Elena smiles at her and is glad she was happy to get her, but she could not shake Damon Salvatore.
Elena wishes she could, but it seems impossible for her. It has been like this since she was six. How unbelievable is it to get over someone? To Elena, it looks like it is never going to happen.
Elena gets up from the bed and looks at Caroline. "I'm going to get some water." She says, and Caroline nods. Then, Elena leaves the bedroom. She goes downstairs, goes straight into the kitchen, grabs a glass, and pours water into the glass.
She felt someone behind her, and she jumped and saw Damon standing beside her. She turned fully and looked right at him. "Hey, you okay from everything this morning," she asked, concerned.
Damon sighs, "It's okay, it's just been a long time, and I just want everything settles and gets better because today sucked for sure." Damon confesses.
Elena nods and touches his shoulder, and he looks up and looks right into her brown eyes, "Thank you for being here for me. You are indeed one of my best friends that I can always count on. "He says while smiling at her.
Elena smiled at him, and they both knew it meant something, but they could not do anything about it.
Elena and Damon were unaware of someone watching her, and the person knew if they did something, it would be their death, and it would not be suitable for either of them, or it would end badly.
Later that night: 9:00 Pm.
Elena finally gets home, and she hears yelling in the kitchen. She jumps a little, gets nervous, and runs upstairs to her bedroom. She finally gets to her bedroom, and she locks her door and her bedroom so no one can get to her.
Elena's family is highly complicated.
Elena's mom and dad are still married, but they fight a lot, Grayson drinks a lot, and Elena's dad, Grayson, beats Elena's mom. Miranda and her mom are like best friends. He has also been hurt a lot of times before. Elena's younger brother, Jeremy, is only 15. They are only a year apart. When this happens, he is at his girlfriend Bonnie Bennett's house. He does not know what happens in the house, and Elena does not tell him because she does not want him involved.
Elena phoned Dings, grabbed it, and checked it. It was from Damon.
Damon: Everything Okay over there?
Elena: Is everything okay with my family? It is the real question.
Damon: Fair Enough. Are you okay, though?
Elena: Damon, I am never okay. You think I am okay, but I am never okay. My dad destroyed me, and it is terrible, and I am sick of feeling this way. I want to run away and be fully happy. When I am with you and Caroline. I feel so excited because it is so much fun. I feel like you are my family more than my own.
Damon: I am sorry; I would take you out there if I could. I want to help. I am always here to remember that.
Elena was about to respond, but someone grabbed her phone from her hand and smashed it against the wall. She jumped and looked up and saw Grayson look right into her eyes, glaring at her with full rage.
She was confused about how he got into her bedroom. "What did I do?" Elena asks, scared.
He slams her into the wall, and Elena winces in pain, "Let me go!" She screams as she tries to get away.
Grayson grabs her throat. "You didn't say hello, and you locked your door." He says as he tightens his hands on her throat. She tried to get his hands off her; Grayson smirked, and Elena knew this would not end well.
Grayson grabs Elena and throws her on the bed, and Elena starts to cry in fear because, in the past, he tried to rape her, but Miranda has always stopped him, but she did not know where her mother was when she needed her the most.
Grayson starts getting closer to Elena, bites her tongue, and closes her eyes because she is scared for her life at this very moment.
Grayson gets on top of her and starts slapping her and grabbing her throat. he gets close to her ear, "Remember this next time you want to disobey me because this will happen every time, and I'll kill you whenever you try to get away.
Grayson looks at her and smirks, and he starts kissing her neck; she cries and closes her eyes, and she can feel his hands on her body. She wished this nightmare could end and knew all the slaps would leave a mark.
The only thing she could think about was Damon and Caroline. They are the best things that ever happened to her, and she loves them and hopes she can escape her family from hell. She and she knew that deep down in her heart. She knew Damon was always in her heart, and it was never going away.
