Dear Kaori,
It's been a year. Today is your birthday, so... Happy 15th Birthday! I visited your grave today – Watari and Tsubaki came along, and I met your parents on the way, too.
She told me I should write something, Tsubaki, so here I am – pen in my hand and sitting by the breeze. I'm writing this in the piano room, by the way – and it's a lot cleaner than when you visited, I'm proud to say.
A lot has changed in the days we haven't seen each other. I think I've come to like playing the piano again... Whenever I touch the keys, the faint sound of your violin always rings in the back of my mind and – in typical Miyazono Kaori-fashion – distracts me sometimes.
You're violent, a bit of a brute, painfully kind, and a little secretive... but you've given me some of my best memories – and I'm grateful for that. That's why I wanted to say thanks today.
If there's anything after all of this – out there in the void when you sleep – I hope you're having a really fun time. You deserve every second of it. Happy birthday.
Sincerely,
Kousei
