Dear Kaori,

With every passing day comes a new layer of clothing; I'm beginning to look like a bloated marshmallow with the amount I'm wearing. It's Autumn, and Winter is coming in fast, but I'm trying to absorb everything I can from this scenery first before I start stressing about Christmas presents.

The leaves fall in ones and twos – some are a beautiful crimson, but the orange hues are lovely, too. Mist comes from my frigid exhales, and my cheeks and nose are flushed about 24 hours of the day. It would be nice if you could lend me your hand right now.

In any case, when I have the time, I stop by your parents' bakery. It's warm inside, and I've begun to take on your sweet tooth. Recently, I've been going there quite a lot – and while I knew your parents to a high extent, I don't think I could've claimed to have truly known them until now.

Did you know? Yoshiyuki-san always plays your performances over the speakers – the regulars heard them one time, and fell in love with them. I can't decide between whether you'd be shy or incredibly smug if you saw their faces. Even now, you're music is reaching others. For some reason, whenever I see those customers give even the smallest smile at the sound of your music, it brings a smile to my face, too.

It's funny. Even after two years, you're still on my mind. Your presence here is just as strong as before – or even stronger. I never fail to recognise an aspect of you in the littlest things of my everyday life; one day, I might think of you when I see a window, or a bench. It's random, really.

I felt incredibly inspired – and before I knew it, in front of me were three music sheets loaded with notes. I'm not a very good judge of what I create – I've never created music before, anyway – but Emi and Nagi were speechless... so I think that's a solid indicator that they liked it. I liked it, too.

I'm thinking of releasing it. This inspiration you've given me... I want to make good use of it and put it out there, and hope that it reaches others, just as you hoped for your music. Well, technically, since I based this song off of you, I guess this is your music, as well. Or ours? Who knows.

I hope you'll have a listen sometime. Duet with it – and completely steal my thunder.

Sincerely,

Kousei
