PLEASE READ: All mistakes are my own, I have the help of an app editor, though neither I nor it is perfect. But I do try my best :)

I also wanted to switch things up a bit and have Paul be the Alpha in my story :)

Monday 3rd of January

She's glad she got to spend Christmas with Charlie, the first one ever that she can remember, and then he was offered a job to cover at the Police station in Victoria, after their Chief got ill, and is now on life support, in Port Angeles. He had been flown over there by Air Ambulance and is being moved home today after there was no change. Life really was a bitch, just like her mother is... but anyway, she dare not go down that road, she thought as her classic red Chevy truck gave one last embarrassingly loud bang as she parked in a space in Forks High, crowded parking lot and groaned. She'd only had it a week, Jake had done some work on it, after Charlie brought it off Billy Black, her godfather.

Billy did invite her to a Bonfire night on First Beach for New Year's Eve, but she didn't really feel like celebrating and chose to stay at home, ignoring everyone's texts including Renee, whom she still hadn't told about Charlie yet. She wasn't looking forward to that conversation as she didn't want to move back to the toxic life of Renee Dwyer. She felt so sorry for husband number four. He's a minor league baseball player, and her mother is so obsessed with him, and the attention it brings, including the constant travelling she's in heaven. Something she really didn't want to live through again and wanted a more stable environment for the last few years of high school.

Charlie had somehow managed to get her into Forks High, part way through the school year and now he isn't here, she's dreading her first day even more. Charlie had warned her that small towns like to gossip, and it spread like wildfire when word got out, she was moving to town. She leaned back and closed her eyes for a few moments before she dug her phone out of her bag. He answered on the second ring.

"Hey, Bella, what's up? Everything okay, kid?" Her godfather said, who she calls Uncle Billy.

"No, my truck just died on me, thankfully or not so thankfully I managed to make it to Forks High, parking lot before she truly did give out one last loud bang, and some kind of noise."

"Fuck! Don't worry Bella, I'll send one of the boys, up. Any news on Charlie Bells?" He asked her.

"Nothing! They never said when they are moving him either. It hurts to even think about it, Uncle Billy. If it wasn't for you and Charlie, I'd be stuck with that toxic bitch still, and the poor fuck she calls husband number four. I'm just glad I got to spend Christmas with you all, and not pretend to be all nice, nice at some rich guy's party."

"Charlie always comes back Bella..." his voice broke a little at the end. "I'm glad we got you out of her clutches too, you have been missed Bells."

"I missed you all too. Phone convos and FaceTime are good, but it's not the same, as being here! The hospital has both of our numbers so hopefully they'll contact us soon, so we can go see him." Her voice broke at the end too. The bell rang, letting her know it was time to face the music.

"I'll send a guy named Paul out, to you Bella. He has done a mechanic apprenticeship from home and works for me on the council. Don't you dare say it, Lahote! (Her eyebrows rose) You're welcome to come down here after school, and if you're okay with it, I'll give Paul your number."

"That's fine, and depending on the Charlie part, then yes I'll come down. I've missed La Push and your place. The little river, you used to find me at. I would have come down if Charlie hadn't been shot. Anyways Uncle Billy, unfortunately, the bell rang not that long ago, and some kids are still lurking around the parking lot, including some by fancy cars, which makes the beauty I'm in look even more classic and rustic." She could have sworn she heard a growl and a Paul. In a warning tone, from Uncle Billy.

"You are always welcome Bella. Now you are here, my door has always been open."

"Thank you, maybe see you later. Tell Paul thanks, if I don't see him." She hung up the phone then and reluctantly got out, and made her way to the office. Just as her dad warned her, people stared, but that's something she's used to, having been the new girl, more times than she cares to remember, and walked up to the reception desk to begin her day as the new girl yet again.

"Hello dear, how's Charlie?" The old lady asked behind the reception desk, and her surprise must have shown on her face as she chuckled.

"No change," she said, keeping it short. The lady's face fell a little but regained composure.

"Welcome to Forks, High Miss Swan. If you need a minute or need anything, just come out here."

"My godfather is sending someone over from La Push to the school to see if he can fix my truck, my Dad got me. So depending on when that is, I might have to slip out of class to see him."

"Ah yes, Billy Black? I'll let the groundsmen know, not to chase him off school grounds."

"Thanks," she said, as the lady handed her, her timetable and planner.

"Have a good day," she said, leaving before anything else could be asked or said. She got stares and behind-the-hand whispers and declined the help of being shown around, because it was always awkward, so she did them both a favour, and made it through till the third class before lunch when her phone buzzed in her pocket, which happened to be Maths, one of her least favourite subject when she walked in and found the Cullen boy, who seemed to strongly dislike her for whatever reason, and unfortunately next to him is the only available seat. This time though as she moved in his direction the fan moved her hair, and his face took on a look of disgust and anger as she sat down. Deciding to ignore him, she got her phone out before the teacher got there to see who had texted her.

Hey B, Chief said you got Chevy issues. I'll swing by when you're on lunch. Paul

Okay, thanks. Need to ask you if I stink.

She didn't get a response, but then again, she didn't expect him to. She saved him as Paul and would ask her godfather or the guy himself, his last name to add to her phone. The lesson continued on as the previous two, and Edward barely spoke to her, remained stiff and barely moved. She could have sworn his eyes changed colour as she turned to look at him when they had to actually converse and solve a problem together, but then again that could have been the trick of light. His eyes had a golden tone to them, the first time she sat down next to him.

Her phone buzzed, saving her from any more awkwardness, and a couple of girls hovered by the door as Edward left as fast as he could. She frowned and actually lifted her armpit up and sniffed to see if she stank.

"Hey, Bella, you okay? I'm so not jealous you got to sit with Mr Sexy." The blonde girl rushed out, as she approached the door. Even the teacher had gone to lunch as fast as he could.

"Do I stink?" She asked them randomly.

"No?" They both said confused.

"Oh thank god! It's been bugging me all morning, due to the way he's been with me."

"The Cullens have always been a bit wired, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. I'm Angela, and this is Jess! We wondered if you'd like to join us for lunch," she felt surprised by this and her phone rang, so she looked to see if it was Paul.

"Thank you, I would but my old Chevy died on me this morning and my godfather sent someone over to have a look. If I have time after, I'll come and find you, but otherwise, maybe tomorrow?" That seemed to make the girls happy, so she squashed the little bit of hope that bubbled up and answered the phone after they parted ways.

"Hey?" She said, his voice made her melt.

"I'm outside by your beauty of a beast and have popped the hood already, to have a look. That boy's mechanical skills are appalling. I'm surprised the old girl didn't blow up on you. I'll be having words with Billy, about it too."

"Oh fuck, Jake was bragging about his work too. I'm heading on out now, holy fuck." She yelped in shock as a pixie-haired girl with spiked-up short black hair, suddenly appeared in front of her.

"What's happening B?" He asked her suddenly, as she stared at the girl in shock, nobody had been there a moment ago, she was sure of it.

"Nothing, just a random golden-eyed girl suddenly appeared in front of me, and is just staring at me, as if she's trying to communicate with her eyes," She heard Paul swearing.

"Step aside the d-bitch, and stop making eye contact with her, I'll come in if I have to." She felt surprised and confused by this, and did what she was told, the girl moved in front of her.

"I wouldn't go out there if I was you, Bella." The Pixie girl said, in a baby, kind of voice.

"I'm coming in, don't listen to Cullen, B. I'm warning you Cullen's, no funny business." It took her by surprise when Paul and three other people came over at almost the same time.

"Alice Cullen..." The blonde guy with bellow shoulder length blonde hair said in warning to them pixie, Alice. Her eyes found Paul's and that's when everything changed. Even if she wanted to she couldn't explain, what happened between them. A vicious growl filled the empty corridor as Alice took a step forwards. Her eyes however remained locked with Paul's dark brown ones, and he approached her. She still had her phone to her ear, and then he levelled his eyes with her wide ones, as she tried processing everything.

"Ready to get outta this fuckery?" He asked her, in a deep growly voice. Her ovaries seemed to do summersaults and she felt her body heat. He seemed to sniff the air, and his eyes took on a heated look. She nodded, and he held his hand out to her. She took it automatically without even questioning her out-of-character behaviour and he moved around the Cullen's and noticed his skin felt extra hot, compared to her godfather's warm hugs. She couldn't take her eyes off of his back muscles, he's huge, over 6ft, making her 5ft 6 look small. He has massive broad-shouldered and not an ounce of fat on him! Oh and did she say shirtless and only wearing shorts and sneakers? She's no idea what the fuck just happened but she had a feeling she'd follow him anywhere and like her life had just changed. Maybe for the better?

He was muttering and cursing under his breath, and from the corner of her eye, she noticed the surprised looks on the receptionist's face she'd spoken to this morning, and an important-looking man, who she guessed is the Headmaster of Forks, High. She only had eyes for Paul, and he didn't stop until they reached a black Jeep.

"Um, what about my truck?" She asked him.

"It's toast babe. The Chiefs brat fucked it up, at least if I had worked on that classic beauty of a beast, she'd still have a few more years on her at least." She groaned. Fan-fucking-tastic, just what she needed on top of everything else. Charlie had brought that for her, for Christmas, and it was the best present she'd ever received.

"At least let me get my stuff," she said, tugging on his hand to go in the direction of her truck, not sure why she hadn't let go of said hand yet.

"Already emptied it. I had a feeling something was gonna change, after hearing your voice earlier when you were talking to the Chief, and when I looked inside your truck and smelt your scent..."

"So confusing," she replied.

"Welcome to my world, babe!"

"You do know, you're gonna need to give me more than that? Plus I have lessons."

"Not any more you don't, at least not in this shit hole. No woman of mine is going to move amongst the likes of them. I don't want to smell that every time you come home, babe."

"Smell? And nice try bud-" he turned around so fast and had her pinned up against the passenger side door before she could even blink or think.

"Never, ever refer to me as a buddy again, babe. I'll explain more to you on the way home, but if I was a buddy, I wouldn't have this kind of reaction to you, would I?" He pressed the full length of him against her and she felt her eyes widen again, and a sound escape her lips she didn't recognise. He had her caged in now, and her fingers had snuck into his long and thick soft black hair, that's slightly longer than hers, below his hips.

"I'm just Paul, but you can call me, hubby I suppose, when we get to that stage, sooner than soon." She narrowed her eyes at him.

"You better start talking mister, my body is doing things to me around you, that I've only read in romance stories." He smirked.

"Well, you're living in one now babe, with a twist."

Hehe. I love a growly, angry Paul and Alpha Paul...
