Ari awoke in a coffin with Rias in her arms 'what why...where is this...why are we in a coffin!' Ari thought to herself as she heard a voice
"I better hurry and find that uniform before someone spots me...urgggh this lid weighs a ton" A strange voice said as Ari wondered who or what that was
"try this on for size...myah-ha" a cat like sound and blue fire came into the coffin making Ari protect Rias as the coffin lid came off
"now to grab the goods...what?! you ain't supposed to be awake" Ari was baffled to see a creature with blue fire from his ears 'what is this!' Ari thought to herself in shock
"a talking weasel?" Ari said "how...how dare you...I ain't no weasel, I'm grim sorcerer extraordinaire" the creature said as Rias rubbed her eyes waking up "what happened why did everything go dark" Rias yawned
the creature looked shocked "eh how could 2 of you fit in there!" the creature said shocked then calmed down "eh...whatever. you human! just gimme your uniform, and be quick about it" grim said
Ari looked at her clothes to see she was in a different outfit and it seemed to be a school uniform "what if I don't want to" Ari said stubbornly
"cause if you don't your gonna regret it" grim said as blue fire appeared Ari dodged also grabbing Rias as she pulled her to another room
"heck am I lost...what the hell happened" Ari said as she went to see a library "more importantly where are we" Ari said as Rias rubbed her eyes tiredly
"foolish human! did you really think you could slip away from me" grim said with his paws on his hips "now unless you Don't want to get burned to a crisp, take off that-" before grim could finish his sentence he was trapped in a whip
"that's convenient" Rias said blinking in surprise "me-yeow that hurts what gives" grim said "consider it tough love" a man wearing a mask and top hat appeared
'it sounds oddly familiar to that voice I heard when I was unconscious' Ari thought to herself "ah, I've found you at last. Splendid. I trust your one of this year's new students?" the man said
'eh? new students I've never even been to school before I've always been homeschooled' Ari thought to herself as Rias was being carried piggy back by Ari
"my were you ever eager to make you debut. and bringing a poorly trained familiar with you? that's a clear violation of the school rules" the man said
"as if I'd serve some lowly human, now let me go" grim said "yes, yes. rebellious familiars always say that. do be quiet for a bit won't you" the man said
Ari had her hood up while carrying Rias which the man did not notice "dear me. of all the students I've dealt with, you're the first with temerity enough to open their own gate and step out of it" the man said
"does the very notion of patience elude you, no matter. your orientation has begun let us return to the mirror chamber" the man said making Ari confused
"student?" Ari said confused "you awakened in a room full of gates did you not? all of the students here at the campus arrived by passing through such gates" the man said
"although typically the students have restraint enough to wait until I open them before waking up" the man said 'who is this guy I'm very curious?' Ari thought to herself
"so those coffins? are gateways" Ari said confused "but now is not the time for such prattle, you've a student orientation to attend" the man said
"could you tell me...where are we?" Ari said as she carried Rias who was napping "hm, have you not fully regained consciousness? and did you say we?" the man said finally spotting Rias who was fast asleep
"oh...it seems you have a little one with you as well...no matter they will have to attend the orientation as well" the man said as they walked into the courtyard
"this is Night Raven College, it is an institution for students the world over who demonstrate a rare aptitude for magic...it is the most prestigious academy of it's sort in all of twisted wonderland" the man said
"and I am Dire Crowley. having been entrusted with it's care by the chairman, I serve as the head mage" Crowley said 'he seems rather incompetent to me' Ari thought to herself sweatdropping
"only those who the dark mirror perceives as having a talent for magic are admitted to the college, those who are selected are summoned to the campus through those gates, which can appear anywhere" Crowley said
"a black carriage bearing one such gate should have come to meet you" Crowley said "I do kinda remember a horse almost ran us over" Ari said sweatdropping
"that black carriage serves to receive a student chosen by the dark mirror, it too bears a gate that connects to this campus" Crowley said as Ari was processing this information
"so this carriage dragged me and Rias against our will" Ari said as she carried the sleeping Rias on her back while a muffled scream came from grim
we walked into the chamber we awoke in before "maybe he got a tummy ache" a student said as Crowley slammed the doors open "of course not" Crowley said
'what a dramatic entrance' Ari thought to herself "ah speak of the devil" a red haired boy said "if you must know, I was searching for the new students who failed to show for orientation" Crowley said
"you are the only one who has yet to be assigned a dorm. step up to the dark mirror and be quick about it. I'll watch your weasel" Crowley said
'not our weasel' Ari thought to herself as she woke Rias up and she slid down to stand on her own most of the students were surprised that a child was here
"Rias you stay here okay" Ari said patting her head gently Rias nodded her head tiredly while rubbing her eyes as Ari sighed and walked up to the dark mirror
'I'm sure this is just some big mistake that me and Rias were brought here I'll have to explain the mix-up' Ari thought to herself "Oh well here goes Nothing" Ari mumbled
"state your name" the dark mirror spoke as Ari crossed her arms uncomfortably "Ari Sparda" "the nature of your soul is...powerful but unclear to me" the dark mirror said
"I do sense magic but...this is a girl" the dark mirror said "finally someone noticed" Ari said with a sigh 'at least there's at least a reliable per...mirror to depend on' Ari thought
"therefore no dorm would be worthy of holding this magical being" the dark mirror said "ah...do you have to say it like that" Ari said rubbing her brows tiredly
"are you saying that the black carriage went to receive a person who can use magic but it's a girl" Crowley said trying to understand the situation
"but that is absurd! the student selection process has not erred once in it's century of existence" Crowley said 'I feel a little ticked off with that insult about me being a girl' Ari thought annoyed
grim finally got the muffle spell off "ME, let me have this students seat" grim said "not so fast you hyperactive tanuki" Crowley said "unlike that human, I can actually use magic! so let me be a student here!" grim said
"look I'll show you my spells are the cats meow" grim said "everyone get down" the red head boy said like he knew what was coming next
"myahh" grim let loose his blue fire "AHHH HELP I'm on fire over here" the boy with white hair and red eyes said Ari pushed in her glasses
"hah how troublesome" Ari said with a sigh "someone catch that blasted Animal before it sets the entire school ablaze" Crowley demanded
"Ugh. can I go now, or..." A boy with brown hair and braids said "oh I thought you fancied yourself a hunter. Go and help yourself to that plump little morsel!" the beautiful boy said
"too much effort do it yourself" the boy with brown hair and braids said "ah...I'm starting to get a headache" Ari said looking at the chaos that was caused by grim
"Allow me to handle this headmage Crowley" a boy with glasses said "if none of you are up to the task of catching a small animal, I will take the responsibility" he continued
"WTG Azul. Rackin' up those participation credits" a voice from a tablet said which made Ari curious as to who that voice was on the other side
"hey, um my butts still on fire could someone maybe put this out" the boy with white hair and red eyes said "ice mist" Rias used her magic and cooled the boy down while also patting her head as thanks
"I'm sorry were my instructions unclear" Crowley said "preeetty sure you can handle catching one mangy weasel all on your lonesome there, headmage" the boy with brown hair and braids said
"how many times I gotta say it, I'm grim, spellcastor extraordinaire! I am not a weasel" grim this finally made Ari snap from her good mood as her face darkened
Rias noticed the change in the atmosphere and hid behind the boy with white hair and red eyes "what's wrong little one?" the boy said confused
"aren't you a spunky little fellow, riddle if you please" Azul said Riddle who was the red haired boy spoke "furry miscreant, I will abide no rule breaking you will be judged by my hand" riddle said
Ari pulled off her glasses as they turned from a beautiful blue to a dangerous gold color "off with you..." before riddle could complete the spell a voice sounded
"bound by chains" a ghost chain bound on grim's neck and he got a chill up his spine "you...STOP CAUSING A RUCKUS" Ari said pulling the chain making him fly over to her as she caught him
the boys were clearly in shock as Ari's hood fell off revealing a white haired purple highlighted girl who was currently glaring at grim in annoyance
"don't you try'n collar me! I'll burn it right off! huh...? Wh-what gives? my fire ain't working" grim said "good...it's better not to cause unwanted chaos" Ari said putting her glasses back on making her eyes change back to blue
"the collar will not be moved unless I say so" Ari said making riddle think to himself 'there's something so similar to my magic...just who is this girl'
"hm...so that girl has such magic...how interesting I just gotta have it...ah I mean I've gotta have respect for it" Azul said as Crowley was infuriated
"have I not told you that you are expected to take responsibility for your familiar" Crowley said making Ari annoyed "I do not know this cat creature thing...I'm not even sure what it is it's not mine" Ari said crossing her arms
"then I shall have it expelled from campus. I shall even spare it from being served as dinner, but I AM kind...someone take this away please" Crowley said
"you fools better remember my name" grim said being taken away Rias walked up to Ari and tugged on her sleeve making Ari look down at her
"I feel kind of bad for the kitty" Rias said making Ari sweatdrop "well that was quite the fracas I hereby declare that orientation has concluded" Crowley said
"housewardens please escort your students back to the dorms...hm come to think of it, I don't see housewarden Draconia of house Diasomnia anywhere" Crowley said concerned
"and that surprises you? Dude's a total recluse" the boy with brown hair and braids said "wait a sec...did anyone even invite him" the boy with white hair and red eyes said
"if your that worried about him missing out you should have told him yourself" the handsome boy said 'Draconia that's probably dragon right' Ari thought to herself
"maybe but I don't know him too well either" the boy with white hair and red eyes said "I figured as much, but once again, he was evidently not informed that his presence is required at an official ceremony" a boy with a deep voice said
"you have my sincerest Apologies. I assure you, this oversight was in no way intended as a snub" Azul said "I mean you must admit he's not the easiest person to strike up a conversation with" riddle said
"No matter. all who were assigned to house Diasomnia, follow me. I just hope he doesn't sulk about this" the boy with the deep voice said
"well this is an unfortunate turn of events, I'm afraid that you will not be attending Night Raven College since it's an all boys school" Crowley said
"I'm not that hung up over it" Ari said as she picks up Rias who wrapped her arms around her neck and fell asleep like a baby chick with it's mother
"the dark mirror will see you safely home...now step into a gate, and visualize the place from whence you came" Crowley said as Ari walked over to the dark mirror with Rias in her arms
"O Dark Mirror! Return this soul to where it belongs" Crowley said "there is no such place" the dark mirror said as Ari almost dropped Rias from shock
