Chapter One -

"Rose, there's no way she's going to be able to keep this baby. The baby is killing her from the inside out.* Edward Cullen stepped into the living room from the mansion, where the family was having a heated discussion.

"Wasn't that always the plan, Edward? To kill her? Or I'm sorry, that's inhumane of me. Right? It's much better to talk about killing a BABY. A baby that Bella wants to bring into the world. You already knew the risks before you met her, don't try to turn this around on me like it's my fault. I'm the only person trying to honor your wife's wishes." Rosalie's hands balled into fists at her side, the thought of this baby not living could physically kill her. It's not that she wanted Bella not to live, she had truly come to love her despite everything.

"You're only doing this for your own selfish reason, Rose. You don't care if she lives or dies, you just want her baby." Edward hissed at her, lashing out.

"You might want to back off, before you do something you regret." Emmett immediately got up from his spot next to Esme, stepping in between Edward and Rosalie.

"That's another thing, you wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for her. I wouldn't have to constantly clean up your messes if someone has just left you to die. This family would be better off without both of you." Edward clearly had a huge chip on his shoulder and was taking it out on everyone else.

"You were the one who fell in love with a human, don't put this on anyone but yourself. I don't know why you're attacking Rose but, I can help you with that chip on your shoulder. Outside. Now." Emmett shoved Edward towards the door.

"Emmett…" Esme started but, Emmett dragged Edward outside before another word could be uttered.

"I should go check on Bella and the baby." I pursed my lips into a thin line, going into the makeshift hospital room seeing Carlisle checking her vitals.

"How is she doing?" Rosalie softly asked.

"Her condition is worsening…the blood is helping but, it's only slowing down the inevitable. Even if she is changed, her future will be…bleak. Alice told me that she can't see Bella's future anymore." He sighed, giving it to her straight.

"I don't mean to be insensitive Carlisle but, can I ask you something?" She sighed, she needed to know if she was being selfish.

"Of course." He nodded without hesitation.

"Do you think that I'm being selfish? About the baby?" I asked.

"Bella wants this baby and you made a promise to her. You're honoring that promise, I don't see anything selfish about that. It's an impossible situation, I wouldn't be too hard on yourself." Her adopted father gave her a half smile, before leaving the room to try and go break up the fight in the yard.

"I want you to take care of him or her, that hasn't changed. I know it will be hard for Edward to accept, but I can't kill my child." Bella's voice has only gotten weaker, she fought to hold her eyes open.

"I promised you I would, that hasn't changed. Can I…get you anything?" Rosalie sighed.

"No…I'm okay. Where did Edward go?" She sighed.

"Oh, Edward and Emmett are fighting in the yard. Edward said some things and, "I can't control Emmett when someone verbally attacks me." Rosalie shrugs.

"You would think he'd want to spend more time with me." Bella frowned.

"You would think so, but Edward's always been…broody. I just hope it's not too late when he realizes this, it's not too late." Rosalie says, before continuing on.

"Have you thought of any names?" She wanted to try and lighten the mood despite the dire circumstances.

"Well, I have one for a girl. I really have a feeling." Bella lightly smiles.

"Let's hear it." Rosalie pulled a chair up to her bedside, sitting down.

"Carlie. What are you guys going to…tell Charlie? If I don't make it?" Bella worried about how her father would cope.

"We were planning to tell him that it was a difficult delivery, it's not too far from the truth. I promise that I will keep Charlie in the baby's life, I wouldn't do that to him. Your dad's a really good man." Rosalie awkwardly squeezed Bella's hand.

"Thank you. For everything." Bella weakly squeezed her hand back, Rosalie excuses herself and walks back into the living room.

"Despite any feelings you might have, you need to talk to Bella. Don't waste your last moments, I wouldn't think I would have to tell you about how precious life is." Rosalie fixed her gaze on Edward who was limping inside as he shut the door.

"That's rich coming from you." Edward mutters, brushing past her.

"Are you okay?" Rosalie glides over to Emmett, placing a kiss on his cheek.

"Are you okay?" He answered her question with a question, placing an arm around her.

"I'm always fine, you know that." Rosalie sighed, relaxing into his touch.

"Don't feel guilty about this, because you haven't done anything wrong." Emmett kisses the top of her head.

"Thank you, sometimes I think you're the only one who sees me." Rosalie buries her head in his chest, breathing in his scent.

"With all this, what else could you need?" Emmett smirked.

"I love you." Rosalie allowed herself to chuckle, wrapping her arms around him.

In the next room, Edward shoved his hands in his pockets barely able to look at her.

"Don't you see what this…thing…is doing to you?" Edward forced out.

"Call it what it is, Edward. It's a baby. I'm not killing something that's a part of me, I won't sacrifice my baby for my life." Bella remained set in her ways.

"If you die, I'm out of here. Tell me Bella, was all of this for nothing?" Edward bitterly chuckled, shaking his head.

"What happened til death do us part?" Bella glared at him, knowing if this baby didn't kill her than her broken heart would.

"That's…different. You are the one just throwing us away!" Edward raised his voice, eyes flashing red.

"The only one throwing anything away is you, so that's it. You aren't going to be present in our child's life?" Bella bit back her tears, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction.

"What's the point? I'm leaving. This? I'm not sticking around for." With that Edward left the mansion and walked out of Forks, Washington possibly for good. After Edward left Bella let out a scream, the baby was coming. Bella knew these were her final moments, she barely registered at the commotion going around her. When Carlisle delivered the baby, Bella's heart stopped. Carlisle tried to turn her but, it was too late. Bella Swan-Cullan was dead.
