Alice and Cyrus are appointed to save their beloved Mad Hatter from deadly grief by travelling back to the past, but this means fatally harming Time himself, the noble clockwork man with the device needed to save the Hatter's family from the Red Duchess. It's a sequel to Return to Wonderland.

9. Chapter 9 - Vengeance

Chapter 9: Vengeance:

Cyrus' POV:

Time locked me up in a cell. I don't know how long I'm going to be in here. For all I know, I was probably already in here for 100 years! Time is a confusing man. "Having fun?"

I then saw who said it. "Lewis Caroll," I asked, "did you go through the looking glass too?"

"Of course I did," says Lewis Caroll, "how do you think I got to your world in the first place?"

"Wait, you're from Underland," I asked.

"I'm not Lewis Caroll! There is no Lewis Caroll! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Pimlick Hightopp, brother of the Mad Hatter!"

"You're alive," I asked.

"We all are," says Pimlick, "I never wanted to make hats, but that is tradition, I wanted something more... but that was ruined when the Red Queen took us all and held us prisoner! For years, I have been her prisoner, but then I escaped, and I wanted revenge on that blasted big head! Then I realized the perfect way to get it, by using her desire for revenge on her sister against her! Using revenge to get revenge. I gave her the idea to use the Chronosphere so she can get it. I figured she could go back in time and run into herself and if she does that, it could be the end of Underland itself... especially her!"

"One problem," I said, "you would be erased too!"

"Not quite," says Pimlick, "I ate some demon's ashes and a deity's hair!" I was grossed out. "I have another reason to do this! I plan to remake Underland into my own image and become a God!"

"You're going to let Underland be erased just for your own desire for revenge and ego," I said.

"The ego... well... actually, I can see why you'd be ticked about that," says Pimlick, "but the revenge... for years, I was held captive by that big head!" I then realized... when we talked... he wasn't going to swear... he almost said big head! "You have no idea what I went through! The Queen taunted me all those years! Taking pleasure in my torment! And now, she shall pay!" Pimlick then left.

I have to get out of here. I then ran to the door. "Time," I said, "he has to be stopped! He has to be stopped!"
