It was morning. I hadn't spent the night at Elena's house. Granted, I was there for a few hours, but all we did was talk. There were some times where I felt like we might kiss, but I didn't want that. For one I didn't even know if she liked girls. She definitely wasn't looking at me the same way that I looked at her. On top of that I had a mission. I wasn't the one that I wanted to date Elena. That was Stefan. I was going to play matchmaker even though I had never done it before and had no idea how to do it.

It was about 6:00 AM when Rachel got home. I went downstairs to greet her and I guess ask her how the sex was. I mean we always did it, so there wasn't any real reason to stop it now. Unfortunately as she walked in the door, I found out that I wasn't the only one there.

"And who would you be?" Damon asked which caused Rachel to jump.

"Rachel, this is Damon, Stefan's brother." I introduced.

"I assume you're the one that he doesn't talk to." Rachel remarked. My theory that she hooked up with someone was further illustrated by the fact that her dress was ripped. "Stop looking at me like that."

"We should start to get ready for school." I replied as I grabbed Rachel and took her to our room. "So how was it? And who was it?"

"Her name was Blair and it was pretty good. We both made it clear that we weren't after anything serious." Rachel explained.

"Wow it's been 20 years since you've done it with a girl." I pointed out. While both of us were bisexual, she was always more interested in guys than she was girls.

"So what did I miss last night?" She asked as she started to undress.

"Well you just met the guy who is behind all of the 'animal attacks'." I explained. "And I went to Elena's house last night."

"Did you fuck her?" She asked. I blushed once again. "You know you wanted to."

"No, I'm not going to date her. Stefan likes her and I don't even know if she likes me." I remarked. "But I do need to get something for her."

I went over to the bookshelf and grabbed a book from it. It was Wuthering Heights.

"Who's Ellis Bell?" She asked. "I thought it was written by Emily Bronte."

"It was." I explained. "My dad told me that the Brontes used fake names because no one took female writers seriously."

I put on a floral tee and jeans as I started to prepare for school. Rachel got dressed in a blue off-shoulder blouse and also a pair of jeans. Both of us were once again wearing heels.

"So what are we doing about Damon killing all of those people?" She asked.

"We are going to wait and hope that he is smart enough to stop so people don't suspect anything." I replied. She looked at me incredulously. "He kicked Stefan's ass last night. There is nothing else we can do."

Well there was one thing, but I wasn't sure if it was still there. I didn't know what to do about it just yet. I also wasn't sure why I hadn't told Stefan or Rachel that Damon was the one who turned me. I needed to do that, but I supposed I would have to wait until the time was right.

When we got to school, I was prepared to give Elena the book…but I couldn't find her. I didn't have a lot of time to look for her before class, so I put it away and decided to give it to her later. You know with all of the talking, I forgot to get her number. Friends can have each other's numbers. I still wanted to just be friends with her.

I found her after first period and I couldn't help but notice that she looked a little bit disconcerted.

"What's wrong?" I asked in concern.

"Mr. Tanner caught me and Stefan staring at each other in class." She explained. "He called us out in front of everyone."

I couldn't help but giggle a little about it. So, maybe I wouldn't have to do much for playing matchmaker. I then went into my bag.

"I was trying to find you earlier. I brought it." I told her as I took out the book.

"Wuthering Heights by Ellis Bell." She read. "So why didn't she put her real name on it?"

I reiterated what I told to Rachel about.

"It's a shame that she never lived to see how much people would love it." I added.

"How did you get it?" She asked.

"It's been in my family for generations." I explained. "You can keep if you want."

"No, I couldn't do that." She argued. "But I would love to read it again."

"Well you can give it back when you're done or don't." I replied. I just wanted her to be happy.

Later in the day, I went to Ms. Rogers's class. Calling her that sounded kind of weird because she was only 22. I kind of just wanted to call her Kelsey but it wasn't exactly respectful to call a woman by her first name when you call all of her male colleagues by their last names. Anyway I went to her class.

"So before any of you are ready to act with each other, you have to be able to act with yourselves." She stated. "Now can anyone tell me what that means?"

"You want us to perform in a one person show?" Rachel asked.

"No. What I'm talking about is monologues." The teacher replied. "Some of the greatest scenes are when a character monologues. I want each of you to pick a famous monologue from a movie, play or TV Show as long as it's appropriate to say in school."

I didn't know what to do. That was kind of a broad category. It seemed like it would be better to give us a list to choose from.

After school I managed to find Stefan outside. He was just sitting still.

"What are you doing?" I asked. He pointed and I saw Elena talking to Matt.

"So did she say what kind of animal attacked her?" She asked him.

"She said it was a vampire." Matt replied. Well that was concerning.

"What?" Elena asked.

"Yeah she mumbled vampire in her sleep. I personally think she was drunk." Matt explained. Well it was a little concerning that he didn't believe her. "So what's up with you and the new guy?"

"Matt, the last thing that I want to do is hurt you." Elena retorted. I was pretty sure that she had done that.

"I should be heading to the hospital. I wanna be there when she wakes up." Matt declared and I realized that Stefan was no longer beside me. I didn't know where the new hospital was. I probably would need to find out because that was where I would need to get blood from. After he walked away, I saw Elena coming over to me.

"Hey Brandy, do you wanna hang out with us today?" She asked.

She ended up taking me and Rachel to the Grill where we got a table outside with Bonnie and Caroline.

"My Grams says that the comet is a harbinger of doom." Bonnie explained. "Last time it was here, there was a lot of death."

"Yeah, but it was literally during a civil war battle." I remarked. "Seems like a coincidence."

"And then poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens." Caroline replied. She looked at Elena. "So what's going on with you and Stefan."

"Nothing." Elena said.

"So what no first kiss, no ill-advised hookup?" Caroline asked. "We're your friends. You need to share your smut."

"I was with Brandy last night." Elena stated. I nearly spit out my tea. "And there was no smut."

"Well you need to stake your claim and jump his bones before someone else does." Caroline reasoned. "It's simple. Boy likes girl. Girl likes boy. Sex."

"Profound." Bonnie said before I noticed Elena was getting up. "Where are you going?"

"Caroline's right. It is simple. I'll probably skip the sex part though." Elena declared.

"Let me come with you. It is my house after all." I declared.

So I gave her a ride home. I prepared to unlock the door but apparently it was already open.

"So I've never been here before." Elena stated. I imagined most people hadn't. The two of us walked inside and there was Damon. "Um hello."

"You must be Elena." He said. "I'm Damon, Stefan's brother."

"He didn't mention that he had a brother." Elena remarked before she looked at me. "And neither did you."

"Well Stefan's not one to brag and Brenda and I aren't close." Damon replied. "Please come. I'm sure Stefan will be here soon."

I wasn't sure if he wanted to come. He could do that if he wanted to, but he didn't seem interested in compelling her at the moment.

The two of us followed him to the living room.

"Wow, this is your living room?" She asked.

"Living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction. It's a bit kitschy for my taste." Damon remarked. "I can see why Stefan is so smitten. It's about time. I thought he'd never get over the last one."

You know it was pretty embarrassing seeing Damon flirt with a girl I had a crush on in front of me.

"Last one?" She asked as she looked at me. I didn't know what he was talking about, so I shrugged.

"Yeah Katherine, his girlfriend?" Damon replied. Was Katherine really the last girl he dated? That was almost 150 years ago. "Oh you haven't had the whole awkward exes part yet. Oh well it's bound to come up now."

"We haven't even been on a date yet." Elena commented.

"Well I can assure you that Stefan isn't on the rebound. We all know how those end up." Damon remarked.

"You say it like you don't believe in relationships." I stated.

"I'm a fatalist." Damon remarked. "Hello Stefan."

I turned to see him standing there. I was so focused on Damn that I had not heard him come in.

"Elena I wasn't expecting you." Stefan said.

"Yeah, I brought her here." I announced. There was an awkward moment of silence.

"You know I should break out the old family photos. I meant even be able to find one of her." Damon stated. You know I kind of did want to know what I would have looked like as a little girl, but I didn't want to become one to find out.

"Thank you for stopping by, Elena." Stefan said. That was a nice way of saying 'Please leave.'

"Yeah I should get going. You're kind of in my way though." Elena pointed out before she left. At that point, Rachel came in.

"What's going on?" The blonde asked.

"Great gal. She's got spunk." Damon stated before looking at Stefan. "You on the other hand look exhausted. Did you overexert yourself?"

"Someone had to clean up your mess." Stefan declared.

"Well did it work?" Damon asked. "We both know if you don't drink human blood compulsion can fail."

He then walked away.

"You don't drink human blood?" I asked. Stefan shook his head. "Then why didn't you let me or Rachel compel her?"

So yeah that was an issue. We had to make sure that Vicki didn't tell anyone about us. However one of the problems was that I didn't even know what she looked like. Rachel and I went to our room."

"So did anything exciting happen after I left?" I questioned.

"Well Caroline invited us to tryout for the cheerleading squad." She replied. "I told her that we had lots of experience."

"Why would you lie like that?" I asked.

"It's not a lie." She retorted. I glared at her. "Okay it is but we're vampires. It's not it would be hard for us."

The following day the two of us were getting ready for the…Comet Passing Over the Town Festival while we were in the kitchen with Stefan and Zach.

"Why is Damon here?" Zach asked. It seemed like the two of them knew each other.

"He followed me here." Stefan replied.

"Him being here is detrimental to us. That girl in the hospital could talk." Zach said as I finished my mascara.

"She won't. I took care of it." Stefan said. I wouldn't call it that.

"Are you sure?" Zach questioned.

"No." Stefan admitted.

"If I see her, I can fix it." I offered. That would involve seeing her but I was pretty sure that someone would say her name at least.

Later, Rachel and I were outside. She was wearing a red long-sleeved tee with cutouts under the shoulders and a black leather miniskirt with matching boots. I was wearing a red baseball tee and black shorts with sneakers for a change. I didn't need to wear heels all the time.

"So the way that you acted around Damon made it look you didn't only just meet." Rachel noted. She way still pretty good at figuring out what I felt.

"That's because we didn't." I admitted. "When I left your shop all those years ago, Damon was the first person that I ran into. He told me that he was going to kill me but as soon as I told him my name, he said that he knew my dad and then he changed his mind and he turned me as some sort of revenge for what my dad did to him."

"What did your dad do to him?" She inquired.

"I don't actually know." I answered. "I'm not exactly in a position to ask him right now."

"One more thing. Did you take Elena to our room yesterday?" She asked. I blushed some more.

"I told you that I'm not interested in dating Elena and no I didn't. Damon found us as soon as we got there."

"Yeah it probably wouldn't be a good idea to bring a girl over to have sex with while he's there." She said with a smile. She was starting to get on my nerves, but I was used to her pushing my buttons like that.

"Can you please stop?" I requested.

"Well if you don't want to hook up with Elena then we need to find someone for you to hook up with here at the festival. Why is there a festival anyway?"

"It's a small town. They do things like this." I replied. They had some pretty weird stuff. Growing up I wasn't really interested in them but I still noticed them.

I then noticed Jeremy across the street and I saw that he was looking at me so I gave him a smile.

"Who's that?" She asked.

"That's Elena brother Jeremy. He's in our history class." I pointed out. Had she really not been paying attention in class. Granted there probably wasn't a lot of reason considering that we had lived a lot of history but we weren't exactly there yet…I think. Mr. Tanner really didn't seem the person who followed a chronological curriculum, which I had to admit was strange.

"You should talk to him and ask him if he wants to bone you." She suggested.

"Rachel, he's 15!" I argued with a bright blush on my face.

"And you're supposed to be 16, so it's perfectly okay for you to have sex with him." She proposed.

"You know I always wondered why you didn't give me bigger breasts like yours." I stated.

"The spell just turned your body to what it look like if you were born a girl." She replied.

"I know that. You told me that before." I said. I didn't know why she felt the need to reiterate it. "But you probably could have used a different spell to make them bigger."

"I wasn't thinking about that at the time and I didn't know I liked girls yet." She told me. "Do you want them bigger?"

"No, I like them the way that they are." I responded. "I like everything about my body the way that it is."

"Come on. We need to mingle." She said. That usually worked best when we had alcohol. I was kind of bad at flirting when there wasn't liquor involved, even though I didn't really want to flirt with any of these people. Rachel was the one who hooked up with random people. I did it much less frequently than her and I was pretty sure that I was never sober when I did so.

I really didn't want to do that, so I would need to find something else to do instead. I needed to tell Rachel that I just wasn't interested in getting laid. This wasn't New York. There was actually good chance that you would see the people that you hooked up with again. Whether she wanted to or not, she would see Blair at school probably and I didn't want the awkward moments of running into someone that you had sex with. Not to mention, I seemed like I was having a harder time controlling my hunger around here. Maybe it had to do with the fact that the crowds were a lot more condensed than they were in New York.

Later after dark, they had turned out all of the streetlights so people could see the comet better. They had also closed all of the roads downtown off so no would try driving through the not-lit area. To help mitigate the lack of light, they were handing out candles. We were supposed to use or candles to light other people's. I held mine out without looking before I realized that I was lighting Elena's.

"Hi." She greeted me.

"Hey." I declared. "So have you talked to Stefan yet?"

"No. I don't know what to say. Am I just supposed to ask him out on a date?" She inquired.

"Yes." I answered. "I mean it's not the 60s. You can ask a guy out if you want."

I realize that I could have compelled her to do so, but one that didn't feel right and two it wouldn't feel real either. I liked to think that I could give her a push without controlling her mind. Plus I would have to make sure that I got the wording correct or she might ask him if he wanted to eat dates with her. I know because I had seen it happen before. It was very weird.

"I don't know." She replied uneasily.

"Elena, just give it a shot. Stefan's a great guy. You won't regret it." I responded.

A little bit later, I was in Town Square with Stefan. More so I had just walked over. I didn't know where everyone else had went.

"So I'm pretty sure that you're going to have a girlfriend pretty soon." I told him as I crossed my arms.

"What did you do?" He asked. "Did you compel Elena?"

"No, I didn't need to compel Elena." I said. "I just talked to her and I'm pretty sure that she's going to ask you out. You're welcome. Speaking of people who need to be compelled have you seen Vicki?"

Before Stefan could even answer the question, Matt walked over to us.

"Have you seen my sister?" He asked. That was the same thing that I wanted to know.

"We don't know your sister." Stefan stated. I still didn't know what she looked like. Maybe if I read the paper, I would have seen her face in it.

"She's missing." Matt replied.

"We'll keep an eye out for her." I said.

"What were doing at the hospital yesterday?" Matt asked. I hoped Stefan thought of something.

"Signing up to give blood. I didn't know that was a crime." Stefan retorted. At that moment, I saw Damon holding a girl on the roof of Mystic Grill and she was screaming. I was going to guess that was Vicki. "Are you done?"

He walked away and the two of us headed over to the building. Stefan grabbed my hand and within seconds we were on the roof.

"Nice hop. Have you been eating bunnies?" Damon quipped.

"Let her go." I demanded.

"Really? Okay." He said as I realized that he was holding her near the edge, Thankfully he didn't actually take it literally. "Relax. I don't need her dead, but you might. Hey, Vicki what attacked you?"

"I don't know. An animal." Vicki replied. Stefan should have at least mentioned what kind of animal.

"What kind of animal? Think really hard." Damon urged.

"Vampire!" Vicki replied. I knew I needed to grab her out of Damon's hand...somehow.

"Who did this to you?" Damon replied before he bit into her neck.

"You did!" Vicki screamed.

"Wrong. Stefan. Stefan Salvatore attacked you." Damon compelled.

"Stefan Salvatore attacked me." She repeated. Well I wouldn't be able to fix her now. He then threw her to the ground in front of me. I couldn't help but feel hungry. I just needed a taste. I bit into her before pulling back.

"What are you trying to accomplish here?" Stefan asked. "What do you want to do? Kill her?"

"No I want you to remember who you are." Damon stated. "You can drink from her and make her forget."

That wasn't how compulsion worked. You can't remove another vampire's compulsion.

"I'm not going to be like you. Let her tell. Let them stake. At least I would be free from the torment of you."

"Wow. Drama queen." Damon replied before whispering something into Vicki's ear.

"What happened? Where am I?" She asked. "Fuck I ripped my stitches open."

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I took some pills, Girl. I'm good." Vicki stated.

She then headed downstairs. I headed down myself soon after.

"She says you found her on the roof." Matt said as he held a rag to her neck. "Thank you."

"The druggies are so much drama." Caroline said. She and Bonnie were at a table together.

"So true." Bonnie agreed. I started to head home. "Hey Brandy. I have something for you. This is Elena's cell and email address. You can give them to Stefan."

I took them from her and our fingers touched and I noticed a look that I had seen before. It was the same one that Rachel had when she found out I was a vampire. This wasn't good.

"What happened to you?" She asked. "Sorry that was rude. I need to go."

Okay, so maybe it was better than I thought. I don't think she knew what was going on.

"Yeah she just wigs out sometimes." Caroline told me.

I then headed home. A few minutes later, Elena came over. Stefan answered the door and I decided to eavesdrop.

"Hey. Would you like to come in?" He asked.

"The comet's out here." She said as he stepped outside. "So I don't know why I'm doing this. I never do this. Lately I've been the girl who sits on the sidelines and lets good things pass me by but I don't want to be that anymore. I was going to write in my diary but I had no idea what I would write about.

"Do you want to know what I would write?" He asked. "I would write that I met this amazing girl with a dark past but still a bright future."

"That sounds so poetic." Elena commented. "You make me happy Stefan. We don't need any other reasons to be together."

"Kiss her." I said in a voice that I knew Stefan would be able to hear but Elena wouldn't. He did what I said and kissed her and I was happy too.

So not a lot was different in this chapter except Brandy has to deal with Rachel who is trying to get her laid. She also managed to get Stefan and Elena together. Please don't forget to review.
