I had had quite a weird dream. It was a sex dream about Elena. I knew I was attracted to her but I had to deal with those urges. Rachel wasn't in bed with me when I woke up but it was Saturday and I liked to sleep in on the weekend. It was then that I noticed that I was not alone. There was Damon in front of me while I was in my pajamas. Of course calling it pajamas was generous considering that I had gotten the garment from Victoria's Secret. He had a smirk on his face and I realized that my dream was not a coincidence.
"Morning." He said. "Did you know how easy it was to get inside of your head? I thought about killing her but I decided to have a little more fun since you obviously have the hots for her."
I didn't say anything and threw a knife that was in my nightstand at him. I wasn't sure what I was trying to accomplish since it didn't go in deep. He just took it out without really reacting otherwise.
"Okay, so I deserved that." He stated. "I just wanted to tell you that they caught the animal that killed Coach Tanner."
"No, you're still here." I remarked.
"It was a mountain lion." He stated. You know this was the least believable 'animal attack' so far. The other people had all been in the woods but an animal coming over to the school just seemed farfetched. "A really big one too. It attacked a hunter this morning. It's all over the news. Deadly Beast Captured. All's Well in Mystic Falls."
"What reason do you have for covering your tracks?" I asked. Well it was the smart thing to do, but I was pretty sure that some people wouldn't buy it. I knew when I was kid that there was a council, even if I didn't realize it at the time.
"I'm going to be staying here for a while. I've been having too much fun with you my new little sister and maybe I too want to sleep with Elena. Who's to say?" He answered.
"Well you can't touch her now." I said.
"Correction, I can't compel her. I am charming enough that I don't need to compel people to have sex with me." He remarked. I kind of wondered why he hadn't tried to charm Rachel, not that I was complaining because I did not want that to happen. "By the way, this is yours."
Suddenly, he stabbed me right between my breasts. It was much deeper than I had, so it was quite painful.
"This is John Varvados. Bitch move." He declared as he looked at the hole in his shirt and walked away. I then took the knife out and watched it heal before I started to get dressed. I went with a navy low-cut tee with a broken heart on it and black shorts with knee socks. I needed to find out where the nearest Hot Topic was, even though I had never actually been to one.
I headed downstairs to the kitchen where Stefan and Rachel were having breakfast and watching the news.
"I can confirm that a 12-foot puma mountain lion was shot dead this morning." Sheriff Forbes, Caroline's mom, said. Puma mountain lion was redundant and I couldn't help but feel sorry for that poor cat. It was just minding its business. I did not like hunters. "The hunter is in stable condition."
"You know the real monster is still out there." Stefan commented. Yes we were all aware of that. I wasn't sure why he felt the need to say it aloud.
A little bit later, Rachel and I went to the Grill together.
"So are you going to do anything about Damon?" Rachel asked.
"I just need to find a way to get him to stop killing people, but I don't want to kill him myself. I know that he killed my father, but I don't even know the story behind that." I explained.
"How can you not want to kill him?" She asked. "I want to kill him and I don't even know him,"
"He's family." I pointed out before I noticed Tyler was there with his parents. I couldn't help but notice that they were talking about the Founder's Party. "I haven't been to that since I was a kid."
"What now?" Rachel asked. I supposed that she wasn't also eavesdropping on the conversation.
"They're talking about the Founder's Party. It's this get-together they do every fall. I want to go but I don't know when it is." I explained.
"Well why don't you just go over there and ask them?" She suggested. I supposed that I could do that. I also noticed Jeremy was there, but seemed to be too busy ogling Vicki to talk. I walked over to the table.
"Um hi, Mayor Lockwood." I replied. "My name is Brandy Salvatore and I couldn't help but overhear you talking about a party. My friend and I were wondering when it was."
"It's tomorrow night, Sweetie." He told me. I hated how he was talking down to me. "We hope to see you there."
So I needed to get something ready fast. From what I remembered, it wasn't a super formal party. I still needed to wear a dress, but I didn't exactly need it to be a gown.
"You're staring." I said to Jeremy as I noticed he jumped.
"You shouldn't sneak up on people like that." He said.
"Elena told me the same." I declared. "So what's the deal with you two."
"It's not something that you would understand." He stated as he started to walk away.
"So you can talk to me, but I can't talk to you?" I asked as he left. It was frustrating because I hated when people ignored me.
"I guess he's not going to be your date." Rachel told me. "Maybe you should ask Elena."
"I don't need to ask anyone. I need to focus on getting a dress." I remarked. I needed to get something that was me and it would have to represent my current style. I was hoping that this wouldn't be another phase, but I wasn't chasing a trend this time like punk, 80s goth, or grunge.
However, before I did any of that, I would have to find out where such a place was, which meant that I would need to go home first. The two of us got home around the same time as Stefan where we found Damon holding Zach by the neck.
"What's going on here?" Stefan asked him.
"Nothing." Damon said as he let him go. "Zach and I were just having a family moment."
"Are you okay?" Stefan asked Zach as he tried to help him up.
"No!" Zach shouted as he swatted Stefan's hand anyway. "And neither are any of you! How many people have to die before you see that Damon is a problem?"
"I see it Zach but I'm not strong enough to do anything about it and he's stronger than both Brandy and Rachel put together." Stefan replied. I didn't know if that was true. We could probably take Damon.
"Vervain. Vervain would weaken him." Zach said softly.
"Vervain hasn't grown here since 1865. Damon sought to that." Stefan remarked. I supposed he didn't know. "What I had I gave to Elena."
Zach's eyes then got kind of shifty. He seemed to be looking to see if Damon was nearby. I supposed that it still being grown here.
"What?" Stefan asked. Zach didn't answer and just gestured for us to come downstairs. That was when we saw the stash. There was a lot of it. "You've been growing it."
"It's been in the family for generations." I stated. I hadn't known what it was for, but I had known it was important.
"Blood only runs so deep when you're related to vampires." Zach remarked. Apparently, he didn't share the same view of family as I did. "Damon would kill me if he knew I had it."
"But you're telling us." Rachel noted.
"I trust the three of you and you're going to need it if you're going to take care of Damon." He said. I wasn't sure what he wanted us to do, but I seriously hoped that killing Damon wasn't on the table.
So I had to go out of town to get the dress. There wasn't mall in Mystic Falls. When I got there I couldn't help but notice someone familiar.
"Brandy, what are you doing here?" Kelsey asked.
"I'm looking for a dress for the Founder's Party. What are you doing here?" I questioned. I had a feeling that it was quite possible that her answer would be the same as mine, even though she could have been at the mall for some other reason.
"I'm actually here for the same reason." She said. Nailed it. "We probably shouldn't be do this together though. We wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong ideas."
I mean the two of us kind of looked like sisters and I doubted most of the people there would think that she was my teacher. That being said, even though she was much younger than me, I didn't want to date my teacher. She was also human. The thing was most of my hookups were with other vampires because I wanted someone whose blood I wouldn't crave and someone that I wouldn't injure because I could be rough at times. When I was with humans, I made sure that we had safe words.
I found the dress that I wanted and took it home.
The following day, I was getting ready with Rachel when Damon suddenly popped into our room Apparently he was someone who didn't respect people's privacy. He also wasn't wearing a shirt.
"Do people still wear ties to these things?" He asked. I wondered why he wasn't bothering Stefan. "Hello, I'm asking you because you've been to one of these more recently than me."
I had worn a tie to the party, but I still didn't see what asking someone who hadn't been to one in nearly fifty years accomplished.
"You know you're not supposed to walk in on girls when they're changing." Rachel remarked.
"Donald Trump does it, so I can too." Damon replied. "Btw that means by the way, that guy is really racist."
I knew he was racist. He was also very sexist.
"Why are you even going to this?" I asked.
"Well I was at the first one and I feel like I should go to this one as well. Why are you going?' He asked. Well part of it was to watch over him, even though Stefan was probably better at that.
"Maybe you shouldn't draw attention to yourself." I suggested.
"Well in that case maybe Stefan should stay behind. I'll watch over Elena." He offered as I took a sip of bourbon. I didn't like bourbon, but it was part of the plan. "You know you're a little young to be drinking. I expected it would at least be another week."
"Well I'm not strong enough to fight you, so it looks we're stuck with you." I declared as I had another sip. I needed to watch my intake because I did not want to be drunk at the party. "What else can we do but go on living our lives?"
"Living your lives? You're dead. I would know because I killed you." Damon pointed out. He finally put a shirt on. "What do you think?"
"If I say that I like it will you leave us alone?" I asked.
"It's cool not growing old." He replied. I guess not. "I like being the eternal stud."
The thing was I did like immortality. I was pretty sure that Stefan didn't, but I did.
"Yes not being able to get alcohol if someone is on vervain is awesome," Rachel quipped.
"You know we should have a drink." I remarked.
"I'll have some of that." He remarked as he gestured at my glass.
"Or you can not be weird and get your own." I offered.
He poured himself a glass. Was this actually going to work?
"This party is going to be awesome." He said as he prepared to drink. However, he poured it out before it went in his mouth. "I admire you two. You poured yourself a drink and then spiked the bottle with vervain. At least now I can say a sorority girl tried to roofie me. Where did you get it?"
How did he know that we were in a sorority?
"Does it matter?" I asked.
"Well I thought we were bonding. Now I'm going to go to the party angry. I hope no one gets in my way." He replied before he left. Once he was gone, we were finally able to get dressed. I put on a black metallic embellished belt dress with matching heels and she wore a white dress with a tiered skirt. We then headed out into the hallway where we met up with Stefan and Zach.
"That was his favorite drink." Zach remarked.
"I didn't expect him to actually drink it." Stefan stated. "He won't expect us to try again so soon."
"This is double what I put in the bourbon." Zach said as he handed Stefan a small vial.
"I have an idea. How about instead of trying to spike some alcohol, we spike the other thing he drinks." I suggested.
"What do you mean?" Rachel inquired.
"Caroline." I replied. "Plus he won't be able to compel her either."
"I don't think it's a good idea to risk her life like that." Rachel opined.
"No, Brandy's right." Stefan stated. "He won't be able to drink enough to kill her and as soon as he bites her, he'll pass out. I'm going to go pick up Elena now."
Rachel and I needed to finish our makeup but we would still have time to get there. They were having the party before dark.
There was a long line to get in when we got there. We had enough time to meet up with Stefan and Elena. It was probably a better way to get in because I didn't know if he would remember me from yesterday. This was especially true because no one was at the door when we got there.
"Hey Mayor Lockwood." Elena said to get his attention.
"Hey guys, come on in." He invited as I noticed he was looking at Rachel's chest. It was still pretty careless to invite in people that you didn't know.
Once we were inside, Rachel ditched us. She was probably looking for someone to hook up with. It was something that I expected when we went to parties. It would help with the Damon stuff because he would be more likely to suspect things if we were all together.
We went upstairs and started to look at the exhibits. One of the first things that I noticed was that there wasn't a Salvatore exhibit. I would have thought Zach would give them some stuff.
"There's so much history here, but why isn't there a Salvatore exhibit?" Elena asked.
"We have plenty of stuff but no one asked us." Stefan answered.
"Hey there they have the registry from the first Founder's Party." Elena remarked before she started to read aloud. "The founding families of Mystic Falls welcome you to the inaugural Founder's Ball. There are so many familiar names Sheriff William Forbes, Mayor Benjamin Lockwood. Does that say Damon Salvatoreā¦and Stefan Salvatore?"
Well I could tell Stefan wasn't expecting that and it looked like he didn't have an answer either.
"The original Salvatore Brothers." Damon interrupted as we looked and saw he was there with Caroline. Her neck was once again covered. "It's quite a tragic story."
"We don't need to bore them with stories of the past." Stefan said. To be honest, I was kind of wondering what Damon was going to say.
"It's not boring Stefan." Elena declared. "I'd love to hear more about your family history."
"Well I'm bored." Caroline responded. "I wanna dance, but Damon won't dance with me. Do you mind if I borrow your date?"
"I'm not much of a dancer. Maybe you could dance with Brandy." Stefan suggested as I blushed.
"She's not really my type." Caroline replied. She looked back at Elena. "Do you mind?"
I wasn't sure if I should be offended when she said that but I had a feeling that Damon compelled her to take Stefan away.
"Stefan can if he wants." Elena said.
"Well I'm not going to take no for an answer." Caroline stated before she dragged him away.
Elena looked like she wanted to leave as well before Damon stopped her.
"Wait. I'm sorry. It was wrong of me to try to kiss you." Damon said. That must have been when he tried to compel her. "My therapist thinks I want to punish Stefan."
"You go to a therapist?" I asked. Did he not have anything more believable?
"There's a long history of sibling rivalry in our family. You're lucky you don't have any siblings." He stated. He didn't know. I had had good relationships with my brothers when I was still alive. "And it all started with those guys."
"What happened to them?" Elena asked.
"There was a war battle here." Damon started.
"I remember that. We learned about it in class. Confederates set a church on fire with people inside it." She interrupted.
"What the history books don't say is those people weren't there by accident." Damon remarked. They were vampires, weren't they? I wanted to keep listening because I had a feeling that this dealt with their actual history. "They were believed to be Union sympathizers. Stefan and Damon had someone that they loved very much in there. When they tried to save her, they were shot on sight."
"Damon, I don't know what happened between you, Stefan and Katherine but please leave me out of it." Elena requested.
I then headed downstairs on my own. I realized that that probably wasn't the best idea because I didn't know where Rachel was and I didn't really know anyone else. I did finally see someone that I knew. She came like she said that she would.
"Hey." I greeted her.
"Wow I didn't expect you to look so pretty." Kelsey said. At that point, Mrs. Lockwood came out and over to us for some reason.
"Not enough people are dancing." She declared. She then moved arms. "Maybe you two should dance."
"But she's my teacher." I tried to argue but she had already left. I sighed as I started to move with her. I wondered if Damon had compelled her in order to mess with me.
"You know I might not mind this if you weren't my student." She admitted.
"But you do mind it, don't you?" I asked. I was also supposed to be six years younger than her.
"Yes and I probably shouldn't be with someone as young as you either. No offense." She replied.
"None taken. I'm sorry you got roped into this." I said before I pulled apart from her. "So, I'll see you in class tomorrow."
"Yeah you need to know your monologue by Friday." She reminded me.
I needed to see how the plan was going. I hoped that Stefan had given Caroline the vervain by now. I couldn't be distracted by a girl anyway. I needed to make sure that Damon was captured tonight so he wouldn't be able to hurt anyone else. I wasn't completely sure what we would do with him but I imagined Stefan had thought that through.
Later, I met with Elena as we headed to the bathroom together to work on our makeup. I forgot to say earlier how hot she looked in her dress. I did kind of want to date her even though I knew it was a bad idea and it wasn't just because Stefan liked her. I didn't know that I could be in a relationship with anyone since I hadn't had one since high school and I didn't lose my virginity until I was out of it. I did lose it before I was turned into a girl though.
Anyway, Caroline was also in the bathroom washing her hands.
"So how are things with Stefan?" She asked. Had something happened between Elena and Stefan?
"It's nothing. It was just a stupid fight." Elena said.
"Well my radar must be off because I thought you were dunzo," Caroline commented as I noticed her choker was slightly out of place and you could see the mark under it. Hopefully Elena wouldn't notice.
"What's that?" Elena asked. She noticed. She then pushed it up a little.
"It's nothing." Caroline said as she pushed Elena's hand away. Elena then pulled it all the way down revealing the mark. "It's just a hickey."
"That is not a hickey. Did Damon hurt you?" Elena asked. I felt really awkward standing there. At least she was not presently bleeding.
"Stop." Caroline remarked as she backed away which caused her cardigan to come off, revealing Damon hadn't been just biting her neck. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more marks in places that were covered up. "Damon would never hurt me."
"Caroline, we need to tell your mom." Elena said.
"Just leave me alone!" Caroline shouted before she stormed out of the bathroom.
"Did you know about this?" Elena asked me accusingly. I needed to try to put on an acting performance here.
"Of course I didn't." I lied. "But Stefan and I were already working on something to separate them."
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"I can't tell you that." I replied. I had a feeling that she wouldn't take to the vampire thing very well and I wouldn't tell her without consulting Stefan and Rachel first because I wanted to make sure that I could trust her. "I know this doesn't make a lot of sense, but I need you to trust me."
"Trust is earned, Brandy." She said before she walked away. I sighed. There was a possibility that even if our plan to subdue Damon succeeded that I would still lose my friendship with Elena. Capturing Damon was definitely the more important thing though and I knew that I needed to prioritize that. I should probably also try to find Rachel to at least see who she was trying to hook up with. I was a little jealous that she was having sex and I wasn't, but this stuff with my family was also more important than that.
Before I found Rachel, I managed to see Damon taking Caroline out back. He looked like he was preparing to kill her. I really hoped that Stefan had given her the vervain. I should have tried to compel her to test it. I knew that I needed to watch just in case I needed to step in and save her. Maybe I would be able to sneak up on Damon and break his neck. I watched as he bit before he literally fell off of her. She did pass out, but she was still alive and she probably wouldn't even need any blood to heal.
"I knew that we couldn't spike your drinks, Damon. So we spiked her." I gloated. He was barely conscious and I knew that he would be fading fast. "Just wait until you see the headline tomorrow. It'll read Deadly Beast Captured. All's Well in Mystic Falls."
From there, Stefan and I took him back to the house and to the dungeon. Now it made sense why we had a dungeon. Stefan and Zach seemed to know what to do. I just really hoped that this plan was going to work. I then went to bed.
So Damon has been captured. I do want to stress that Kelsey is not a possible love interest for Brandy and they probably won't ever even hook up. Anyway please don't forget to review.
