Stefan then threw the door open and he prepared to go out and kill Damon. It was then that I saw Elena was there and she saw him with a stake in his hand and me a glass of blood literally about to touch my lips. Well it seemed like she was going to know how. She looked terrified.
1965
Rachel and I made it to the shore. She was in transition and we would have to find a good way to get her some blood. I would also have to find a new source of blood since I was mostly drinking from her.
"How do you feel?" I asked.
"Everything hurts." Rachel declared. "But I feel so hyper. I don't know what to do."
"I'm gonna take you to hospital. It's almost dawn, so we should it should be a place to stay until we can get back to the apartment and get you the extra ring."
Present
"What are you?" Elena said. The only things that I could think about were words that I couldn't say. "What are you?"
"You know. You wouldn't be here if you didn't." Stefan replied, surprisingly calm about the situation. This was just like the scenes from the books where the girl finds out that her boyfriend is a vampire.
"It can't be. This can't be real." Elena said. Stefan put the stake down and walked closer to her as she backed away.
"It is." He confirmed. "Everything you know is about to change."
"What are you?" Elena repeated. I figured that I might as well speak up.
"We're vampires." I stated. She now looked even more terrified.
"I shouldn't have come." Elena replied as she rushed out the door. Now it made sense why Stefan didn't want to tell her. I knew we had to follow her to make sure that she didn't tell anyone now. We rushed out to meet her at her car.
"How did you do that?" She asked.
"Elena, you need to not be afraid of us. I'm your friend." I told her.
"Let me go." She declared.
"Just let us talk to you." I begged. Instead, she elbowed me and got into the car and drove off. I sighed because I knew that we would have to talk to her. We got to her house before she did and went in through her open window. Why it was open, I don't know. She was breathing heavily when she entered her room.
"Elena." Stefan declared as she looked at the two of us. She tried to go out the door but he stopped her and held it shut. "Elena, we're not going to hurt you. We would never do that."
"What about those animal attacks? Did you two kill all of those people?" She asked. I wished that she didn't think that I was capable of murder.
"No those were Damon. I don't drink human blood. That's not how I choose to survive." Stefan stated. "You can hate us but you can't tell anyone about this."
I really didn't want her to hate me. I didn't know how I would deal with that.
"Why not?" Elena whimpered.
"Because knowing this is dangerous!" Stefan exclaimed. "Please don't tell anyone."
"Just go. If you mean me no harm, just go." Elena declared.
"I never wanted any of this." Stefan replied before he went back out the window. I stayed there.
"I meant both of you." She said.
"Elena, I need you to trust me. I'm your friend." I stated. "And to prove it I'm going to tell you my most sacred secret."
"What are you talking about?" She asked.
"I haven't been a vampire as long as Stefan and Damon have." I declared. "I became a vampire in 1964. Rachel was partially responsible for it. Damon was the one who turned me but I met Rachel when I went into her record shop. She was upset that I didn't like the music and I made some rather misogynistic comments to her so she transformed me. What I'm saying is I haven't always been a girl."
"What?" She asked in surprise. Now she seemed more confused than she was scared, so that was a start. I also heard something outside from the not closed window. Stefan was talking to Damon.
"Can I stay here?" I requested. "I want to keep you safe."
"You can stay on the couch." She replied.
"Thank you." I replied.
I headed downstairs. It wasn't what I was hoping for, but it was a start. I looked over my clothes. It was a black lace dress with a maroon tank top and shorts underneath. I would have to take the former off to sleep. The couch wasn't very big but fortunately I wasn't either. I took the garment off after washing my face and fell asleep.
In the morning, I was woken up by Elena walking into the living room. I yawned as I looked up at her.
"I can't believe that you sleep." She said.
"Why wouldn't I sleep?" I asked.
"I don't know. I just didn't think that you needed to." She replied. "Can you ask Stefan to meet us at the Grill?"
One thing that I was curious was how she suddenly found out that we were vampires. I was pretty sure that she wasn't just coming over to say hi. Something had happened in the time between when she left the car wash and gotten there, though it probably wasn't important."
"I'm gonna need to borrow some makeup first." I replied. I then texted Stefan to meet us and Rachel to do the same with a few more details.
"You slept with her?" She replied.
"Rachel, this is serious. Please be serious." I requested.
So after I was made up and dressed, the two of us went to meet them at the Grill.
"Thank you for coming." Elena told them. We were having breakfast…or brunch. It was Sunday, so I couldn't really be sure. I didn't know if they did it in Mystic Falls. It was very big in New York.
"We'll tell you anything that you want to know." Stefan declared.
"When you Google vampire, you get a world of fiction. I need to know what's real." Elena replied.
"Okay." Rachel declared as a waitress came to fill our drinks.
"Well I know you eat garlic and somehow sunlight isn't an issue for you." Elena noted.
"We have rings to protect us." Stefan replied. I wondered if that led to her to suspecting something but I doubted she knew anything about magic rings.
"What about holy water, crosses, and mirrors?" Elena asked.
"Warm water, two pieces of wood and how we maintain our appearances." Rachel declared.
"Okay…" Elena replied. "So Stefan said that he doesn't drink human blood. What about you two?"
"We drink from blood bags." I replied. "Rachel and I have never killed anyone."
"Well except for that hostage crisis, but those guys deserved it." Rachel interjected and her parents, but I was definitely not telling them about that.
"Why did you let Damon get involved with Caroline?" Elena asked accusingly.
"We didn't let him do anything." Rachel argued. "We didn't know about until it already stated. Fortunately, he chose not to kill her."
"He was still hurting her." Elena retorted.
"No, he was feeding on her." Stefan replied. "He was drinking her blood and erasing her memory with a form of mind compulsion."
"That doesn't make it okay." Elena pointed out.
"We know it's not okay." I declared.
"Just give us today." Stefan bargained. "Let us have today and if you still want to tell people, you can."
I seriously hoped that they wouldn't because then we would have to move and I had already started to like living here.
"Are there any others besides you three and Damon?" Elena asked.
"None that we know of." I answered.
"Then you have today." Elena agreed.
After we finished our breakfast/brunch/whatever, Stefan had her drive us to the ruins of an old house.
"Stop here." He said.
"Why are we in the middle of nowhere?" Elena asked.
"It didn't use to be nowhere. It used to be my home." Stefan declared.
"But it looks so…" Elena started.
"Old?" Stefan finished. "That's because it is."
"How old are you?" Elena asked.
"I've been 17 since 1864." Stefan replied. "50 years before the boarding house was even built, this was where we lived. I was born here."
1965
I checked Rachel into the hospital. I got a nurse to bring us some blood before I compelled her to leave.
"So this is it. Are you ready?" I asked.
"I don't think I should do this." She said. "I can't feel my magic anymore."
"Rachel, please. I need you to do this." I begged. "I know you never wanted to be a vampire, but I can't lose you. You're my best friend. Please."
"Alright. Here goes." She said as she put it in her mouth.
Present
"You Katherine in 1864?" Elena asked. "Damon it made sound so recent."
"Damon was trying to make you think that I wasn't over you, which I am." Stefan retorted.
"And is this all because you loved the same woman nearly 150 years ago?" Elena asked.
"She wasn't just any woman." Stefan replied.
1965
She ended up drinking the whole bag. I kind of wanted her to share it with me but I supposed she was hungry. I couldn't help but wonder how long it would take her to finish the transition.
"Do you feel it yet?" I asked.
"No I…Ahhh." She screamed as she started to feel pain. "My teeth hurt. Close the windows. Close the damn windows."
I pulled the curtains over the window as she fell to the floor in pain. She looked at me with a pair of red eyes and a set of sharp teeth.
"I need more." She demanded.
"Rachel, no you don't." I argued. "Remember what you told me. If you give into the urge, you won't be controlling your thirst for blood. It will control you."
We would still need to find a way to consistently feed. There were a lot of people in New York, so we could just go that route, but it still felt wrong.
Present
I had to admit that I liked learning all of this stuff about Stefan. I wasn't sure if Elena just assumed that we already knew it, but we didn't. I had never met Katherine and all that I knew was that she looked like Elena. I mean Stefan didn't speak too highly of her, but I didn't know her. I wondered if he was going to tell us how the two of them became vampires because I wanted to know that more than any of this other stuff. In fact, it did not seem particularly relevant.
"You did go to the first Founder's Party." Elena remarked. "You and Damon signed the registry."
"Once I had feelings for Katherine, I just knew that I wanted her. I didn't care about Damon's feelings for her." Stefan replied.
"What did Damon do?" I asked. "I bet he wasn't very happy about that."
"Damon doesn't get mad. He gets even." Stefan replied. "That night he snuck into her bed chamber and slept with her."
"So he stole her from you then?" Elena asked. I had a feeling it was more complicated than that.
"She wasn't either of ours to steal." Stefan replied. Did he really need to tell us about how he was having sex with her?
1965
I hit the button to call the nurse. Rachel needed to learn how to feed if we weren't going to do it often.
"Are you sure that I should do this?" She asked.
"You need to know how to feed from people without killing them." I declared. "You also need to learn how to compel people which I was why I'm gonna let you do it to her."
"Can I help you two?" The nurse asked.
"You're not going to move or say anything." I replied. I then looked at Rachel. "Okay. You need to feed and when you're done, you need to compel her to forget about this."
Rachel went over to the woman and bit into her neck. I watched as she fed from her and when it looked like she was having too much, I tore her off.
"I want more." She growled.
"Rachel, please control yourself." I ordered. "Now go over there and compel her. I know that you can do this. I believe in you. Just tell her what you want her to believe."
Rachel went over and managed to compel the nurse on her first try. By then I was starting to notice that the sun was going down. We could leave pretty soon. She wasn't ever officially checked in, so she wouldn't need check out. As soon as the sun when down, we were able to head back to the apartment. I took her inside and took out the extra ring which I put on her finger. I was glad that she had managed to transition because we were about to start the rest of our lives together.
Present
"She controlled our minds." Stefan said. "Now the two of us are stuck together."
I then bent over and picked up a ring off the ground. I assumed it was hidden there because Stefan didn't think that Damon would look for it there. It worked because he obviously hadn't found it. I was still nervous about giving it back, but it seemed like we didn't have a choice unless managed to capture him again which didn't like it was very likely because he would definitely be expecting us to do it this time.
"Is that Damon's ring?" Elena asked. I nodded.
"We took it from him but I have to give it back to him." Stefan answered.
"No you don't." Elena argued.
"Elena I don't give it back, he threatened to do the one thing that can hurt me," Stefan replied. Kill him? I didn't see how that would help.
"And what's that?" Elena asked as she put her hands on her hips.
"Hurting you." Stefan declared. Yeah I definitely did not want him to do that, so it made perfect sense on why we had to give it back to him. I just didn't know where he was at the moment. I didn't even have his cell number.
"How did Katherine die anyway?" Rachel interrupted. More importantly, how did they die, but I supposed we weren't going to find that out today.
"It was the fire at Fell's Church." Elena replied. "Damon told me. He also told me that the two of you were shot trying to save you."
Oh yeah that was right. I didn't know why I didn't make the connection there. I supposed I just assumed that he was lying, but he was actually telling us a true story.
We then prepared to leave before Elena suddenly stopped us. She had something that was troubling her and I hoped that she would tell us about it.
"Wait. There's something that I have to know. That mind control that Katherine and Damon did, did any of you ever do it to me?" She asked. Okay that did seem like something that would get her to trust us less.
"No." Stefan replied. "That necklace you have contains an herb called vervain. It protects you from being compelled."
"It's also how we managed to stop Damon before." Rachel replied. "We gave Caroline some and when he drank her blood, it caused him to pass out. Of course, he's out now, but it worked."
"I wanted to protect you from Damon. He could have done to you what he did to her." Stefan explained. "But I also wanted to protect you from me. I'm going to let you do whatever you want with this information that I'm telling you and whatever you decide, you know it'll be your choice."
"So I'm gonna go home." Rachel announced.
From there, we headed back to her house. There was a suspicious red truck outside of it. We went inside to find Jeremy, Vicki and Matt inside. The kitchen looked like it had been torn apart. I felt a little uncomfortable with all of them so close.
"What's going on?" Elena asked.
"She's really messed up." Matt replied. It was then that I noticed that her heart wasn't beating. That was not good.
"Everybody back up." Stefan said. He looked her in the eye. He seemed to be thinking the same thing that I was. "You're going to be fine. Take her upstairs and get her away from the light."
Jeremy and Matt did that, leaving the three of us alone.
"Do you know what's wrong with her?" Elena asked.
"She's in transition." I answered.
"What does that mean?" Elena replied.
"It means that she is in the process of becoming a vampire." I explained. "There are three steps. First you have to drink a vampire's blood and then you die and when you awaken you drink human blood. Damon must have found her."
"And what's going to happen if she doesn't drink blood?" Elena asked. I knew that she was not going to like the answer that I gave her. I was silent for a second. "Brandy?"
"She'll die." Stefan replied. "We don't know how much time she has left. She probably doesn't know what's going on, but she'll soon have to make the choice."
"Is that the same choice you made?" Elena asked with a side of venom.
"Elena, I didn't even know what was going on. Damon literally left me with a body." I replied. "I just knew that I had to drink or I would die."
"She's up there with my brother right now." Elena stated. Pretty much as soon as she finished saying that, Vicki ran down the stairs and out the door.
"She was fine and then she just took off." Jeremy told us.
"I'm gonna go look for her." Matt announced after we went outside. "Let me know if you find anything."
"We can track her." Stefan replied. I really wished that he didn't just volunteer me.
"Go then." Elena ordered. Then again, Elena would probably want to as well.
Stefan wanted us to split up so we could cover more ground. I headed out into the woods. I supposed if she did feed, we would at least be able to get her inside. I found her crying against a tree.
"I'm starting to remember things." She wept. "I remember you from the hospital and the rooftop. Your brother attacked me. He fed on me and then he told me that I have to drink blood. What will happen if I don't?"
I didn't want to answer that. I also didn't feel the need to mention Damon wasn't my brother. I didn't know why Damon did this. I assumed she somehow once again survived his attack and used his blood to heal her before he killed her. Was he doing it because we wouldn't give him his ring?
"It'll all be over soon." I promised. I just had to get her some blood.
"Just take me home. I wanna go home." Vicki replied.
I prepared to take her home, specifically to our house before I heard a gunshot. I then felt an immense pain in my chest as I realized that I had been shot by a wooden bullet. I fell to the ground and saw Logan Fell was the one that was holding the gun? Why was a news reporter out hunting vampires and how did he know I was one. He then put the gun down and took out a stake. I slowly got up. I could fight. I then heard a second gunshot as I noticed Logan had been hit. It was then followed by Damon appearing and drinking from Logan's neck. I didn't even see who was holding the gun. Damon then reached his hand into my breast and pulled the bullet out.
"Brandy, are you okay?" Kelsey interrupted. What was she doing here?
"Who the hell are you?" Damon asked her.
"I'm her teacher. Who are you?" Kelsey replied. Before Damon could answer, we heard a slurping sound. Vicki was feeding from the wound?
"I'm sorry." Vicki replied before she ran off.
"Okay…I'm gonna go now." Damon declared as he too ran off.
"What is going on? Why did he shoot you and why are you suddenly okay?" Kelsey asked me.
"Because I'm a vampire." I replied. I supposed if she didn't react well, I could compel her. "What were you doing out here?"
"He took me on a date out here before he suddenly walked off holding this weird compass." She explained. "So all this time, you've been like this. I always thought that there was more out there. I can't believe that I was right."
"So you're not afraid of me?" I asked.
"I mean I am a little but I feel like I can trust you." She said. I then heard footsteps. I grabbed the gun and the compass so they couldn't get fingerprints.
"Someone's coming." I declared before I ran her out of the woods. "I think there are more people out there. You can't tell anyone about this."
"Are you still going to be coming to school?" She asked.
"I don't know. Just don't fail me if I miss any days." I replied. "I can tell you more later but right now I need to get back to Elena."
I texted Stefan to let him know that we needed to talk to Elena. It was then that I realized that I had a hole in my outfit in a very unfavorable spot. I took Stefan's jacket as soon as we got there.
"What happened?" Elena asked as she saw the blood.
"It's okay. It healed." I explained.
"Where's Vicki." She responded.
"I wasn't able to stop her. She fed." I answered, biting my lip a little.
"It'll be okay. We'll find her and we'll come up with a story." Stefan offered.
"You mean we'll come up with a lie." Elena replied. "I gave you today. I'm not going to tell your secret but I can't be with you, Stefan."
Stefan then left and I started to as well.
"Brandy, wait." She told me. I stopped. "Come here."
I walked over to her.
"There's another reason I can't be with Stefan." She stated. She then kissed me and I wasn't thinking. I just kissed back. We started to make out as we went up the stairs. We threw off some clothes as we went up. I couldn't believe I was doing it, but I didn't want to stop. We took off all of our clothes when we were in her room. So saw the blood around my nipple. "So this doesn't hurt when I touch it, does it?"
"No…" I moaned. She then started to kiss down my body and pretty soon, she was eating me out. I lied on my back as I felt her tongue inside of me. I usually liked to be in control, but I was acting totally submissive towards her. After a few minutes, I screamed as I felt my first orgasm in a long time. Being a vampire, it didn't take me as long to recover and soon I was doing the same to her. She tasted so good.
Once we were done, we were both in her bed, naked under the covers. It seemed like I had tired her out and it was at that I realized exactly what I had done. I didn't know how I was going to tell Stefan about this and I definitely knew that Rachel was going to tease me for this. I then realized that I should probably go because Stefan was going to need my help to find Vicki.
So Elena and Brandy had a very different experience and we got to see some flashbacks between Brandy and Rachel. Also Kelsey found out that Brandy is a vampire. That's gonna lead to some things. Please don't forget to review.
