Hello! How is everyone doing? I'm sorry I haven't been writing or updating as often as I was planning to because of time limitations, I'm going to evening school and my classes are from 18:30 pm up to 22:40 pm and return home close to 11 pm I'm too tired to even write while in the mornings I'm sleeping or helping around the house.
However, I did work on creating more chapters for this story. And for those who are reading my Be Somebody story I have good news; I have been writing the 26th chapter and I don't know when it might be done but I will try my hardest not to take too long! So keep an eye out!
Moreover, I want to thank you so much for all the kudos, favourites, followings and comments throughout Ao3, Wattpad and ! Seeing them in my email inbox was making my day! Keep 'em coming! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this chapter!

Sorry For Existing
Chapter 5: Tombs, Double Lives And 20s' Parties
The next day around the fifth period she got a text from Enzo;
"New Mission Briefing 1600."
She felt a cold shiver run through her at the cold text received from Enzo. But as told she appeared in the ARMORY at 4 pm and saw a bunch of people.
"Anna, what is going?" Elena asked her friend Anne Lewis who was saving a seat and she sat on it.
The briefing was handled by Virginia St. John, the actual leader of the ARMORY, who told them that a fellow member of the board of trustees named Sonya Zhu, she was asking for the help of the witches of the ARMORY to open the vampire tomb near the Fell's church. The object of desire was the mother of Anna Zhu, Jeremy's new friend.
Elena was tasked to do the research along with all the other witches. Through the crowd she saw Enzo watch her with this unreadable expression but in his eyes she could see the worry deep in them.
After the briefing every witch started the research and so did Elena but she knew already that they needed a Bennett witch to open it any other witch was useless except a siphon. In just few days another briefing was called in and they met with a Bennett witch, a cousin of Bonnie's. She just needed one more witch and she raised her hand.
She was read in and met the woman. They started practicing the spell.
It was the next day, that Elena was making popcorn to just chew as she practice her magic and learn to pronounce the words correctly, when Anna cornered her.
"Can I talk to you?" Anna semi asked semi commanded and Elena nodded and guide her to her room.
"How are you the witch that will help me get my mother out?" Anna asked her and Elena sighed as she handed Anna her ARMORY badge.
"You're an agent?!"
"Yes, but don't you dare say anything to my family, got it?" She said seriousness and Anna nodded.
"Thank you." Anna said seriously appreciative and Elena smiled kindly.
"I know the feeling of not having a mother. Now go, enjoy your unlimited curfew time before your mum's comes back!" Elena ushered her and Anna chuckled at her comment about unlimited curfew time.
The rest of the night Elena listened to their muffled laughs and tried to learn the words of the spell.
What Elena didn't know was that during her week of captivity, Logan Fell was killed by Damon to show his devotion to the council and to pin all the recent deaths on him after he tried to attack Lexi during Stefan's birthday party at the Mystic Grill. Lexi was alive and well which made one more less reason for Damon and Stefan to hate each other.
And Elena had half a mind to remember him as far as her aunt Jenna didn't date him she had other things to worry about.
The time for the tomb opening came and she with Lucy Bennett, the cousin of Bonnie, and a bunch of other ARMORY agents along with Anna and Sonya Zhu were at the tomb while Duke's party was on full swing.
Anna had learned of that party by Vicki and Jeremy and thought it would be a great sound covering and cover for her and Elena.
Holding Lucy's hands she started chanting the long rehearsed words and felt her magic vibrate through her and reaching Lucy's magic as if two dance partners dancing to the rhythm of the energy's music. She was focused on task at hand that she didn't notice how her presence was missed at the party and her friends, Stefan included, started to look for her.
The sound of the tomb opening made her smile victoriously at Lucy who nodded at her commending her on her skills silently. Anna run inside to find her mother with a blood bag in hand. Suddenly Anna screamed as she and her mother attempted to leave the tomb but they were grabbed by hands of desiccated vampires. Elena and her fellow agents sprung into action!
"Incendia!" Elena screamed as she extended her hands and fire engulfed six of those hands while some other hands were severed by Lucy's magic. Anna and her mother run outside when Pearl said;
"Harper! He doesn't deserve to die!" Pearl begged us and Elena looked panicked at Anna.
"Where is he?" Elena asked Pearl and Elena was told he was next to her.
Elena grasped Pearls hand and went into her mind searching for a memory of their placement when she saw it she run inside with her magic and her stiletto knives as a defense.
She found him and smiled relieved to see he wasn't harmed by their spells, she gently pricked her hand and fed him her blood until she saw some mobility in him.
"Follow me." She told him gently and he nodded confused.
Elena helped Harper out of the tomb.
"Let me!" Anna rushed to help her and Elena nodded as she turned to the tomb and the fellow agents allow her, Lucy and two more witches to set everything on fire.
"Incendia!" All four of them said at once as they extended their hands and fire engulfed the inside of the tomb, orange light reflecting on their faces. Elena and Lucy walked back to their positions and sealed the tomb again with the same spell Emily Bennett had used.
Just as they finished Elena felt faint just like Lucy and Anna helped her sit by some logs.
"You good?" Anna asked her and she nodded.
"I just haven't used this much magic before…I have orange slices in my bag, give me some and then give Lucy, Lewis and Raven the rest, it will helps us." Elena advised tiredly as the medic came to check on her.
"I'm getting kinda worried about you, Lena." The medic said worried and she smirked.
"You have seen me worse, Allen!" Elena teased him and he shook his head disapprovingly as he calculated her blood pressure.
"Mrs. Zhu, how are you feeling?" Elena asked the woman watching her suspiciously.
"I'm fine…why help us?" Pearl asked her and Elena sighed deeply.
"I know how it feels to lose a mother, I have lost two mothers in one lifetime, my biological and my adoptive one. No one should lose their mother they way Anna did. That's one reason and the second reason is that I know how it is to be you…if I can help someone regain their freedom I will do it because I wanted someone to do it when I was in need…" Elena explained cryptically and her eyes held this haunted look as she shivered involuntarily at the memories.
"I'm sorry to hear that you lost two mothers, no one should go through that pain." Pearl said kindly and Elena smiled tightly, the adrenaline was leaving her body and she felt the tiredness crash her.
"What do you mean you know how it is to be like my mum?" Anna asked her as she came with the remaining orange slices her tone was confused and intrigued.
"The time I was at a week-long trip?" Elena asked rhetorically and Anna recalled the time and gaped in shock.
"You were held captive?! Where?" Anna exclaimed shocked and worried.
"Iraq and I was a hostage for a week. Elena answered with an uneasy smile trying to make it sound like it was no big deal.
Anna nodded still in shock yet there was some understanding while Pearl looked horrified and confused she seemed to want to ask more but a look from Anna made her stop.
The mother daughter duo bid her goodbye and she smiled relieved watching them.
Sonya came up to her and smiled thanking her and Elena saluted her with a tired smile.
"Party at my house!" Anna Lewis essentially yelled and everyone semi cheered or threw thumbs up.
An hour later Anna Lewis' house was full on rager going and Elena looked pleasantly surprised and looked at Anna Lewis in question at the song choice.
"I thought you might feel more at home with this song." Anna Lewis said cryptically and Elena looked shocked at her.
"That's Raging On Sunday by Bohnes, that song shouldn't have come out for about nine years…Anna what have you done?" Elena whispered in her ear to scared for anyone else to hear and think she was insane.
Anna smiled and pointed at the DJ and Elena turned to see the DJ raising his drink at her.
"Holy fuck!" She exclaimed as she looked at Anna.
"I thought you might never recognize him or me, for that matter…" Anna said smirking and Elena looked confused.
"Okay, here's a hint, I'm Dawn and he's owes you two Gormitti figurines." Anna hinted to Elena with a smile and Elena gasped and looked at the DJ.
"That's Achilles?! As in Achilles Chatzipetrou? And you were Augy…Dawn Nikolaidou?!" Elena exclaimed shocked and with tears in her eyes as Anna nodded with similar tears running down her eyes. Elena hugged her tightly and kissed her cheeks before hugging her again. Both girls sobbing by that point.
They moved to some ottomans on the side of the dance floor while the DJ joined them and Elena hugged him tight and again both cried.
"How, you guys…I know about you Dawn…I'm sorry I wasn't fast enough to keep them from crashing your skull…I had lost my glasses and I was stabbed…how did you died Achilles?" Elena said at a loss of words. Jericho by Iniko was playing in the background.
Achilles smiled softly his brown eyes reflecting warmth and understanding. His curly black hair gave him a boyish exterior.
"I was a prisoner of war…I flew F-16s with the Greek Air Force during the war and I ejected after getting shot down. Woke up in chains, the Turkish Navy found me and since I was in their waters I was arrested. They tortured me for months, I died trying to escape, shot in the head. It's David here by the way and David Lewis, Anna is my twin." David explained sadly and Elena looked angry.
"How about you? How did you die?" Anna asked worried and Elena gulped.
"I killed myself… I didn't want to live anymore not with how things were looked to be going…I knew I wouldn't survive the coming war nor did the world had a place for me. I was useless, a waste of space…I had no one, guys…Spiros was murdered by his parents few years before you, Dawn, as you know and, you, Achilles and Vasilis moved away…I was all alone…" Elena explained with her hands twisting in her lap and she looked ashamed.
"God!" Anna exclaimed as she hugged Elena who hugged her back.
"I heard from others that we won the war…so that's something." David offered awkwardly and Elena with Dawn got up and engulfed him in a group hug.
Hooligan by NEONI started playing in the background.
"Fuck them! Let's go dance!" Anna decided as she wiped her tears and dragged both to the dance floor and they started lip-syncing to the song.
Shum by Go_A started playing and everyone got more excited while Elena and Anna with David were feral screaming the lyrics on the top of their lungs and started dancing wildly. Some people looked at them weirdly while others had the same look of understanding and joined them. They also knew the lyrics which made Elena looked taken aback before Anna said weirdly amused;
"They're like us, the majority are in the agency…I'm surprised you never noticed."
"Because I don't go around people asking about their past lives, Ann!" Elena exclaimed taken aback and a bit out of breath.
During all of this Elena had completely forgotten about her mandatory appearance at Duke's party and she hadn't returned after excusing herself from her friends. And her friends understandably had started looking for her, and completely out of luck none of the stumbled towards the Fell's Church and didn't see her or her fellow agents.
Anna had texted Jeremy saying that her mum wasn't feeling well and she had to return home to take care of her. So, after an hour of searching some guy said that he heard about a rager party at some guy's house named Dave Lewis and it was ten times better than Duke's party. People started filling out the party and something in Bonnie told her that this was the place they will find their answers.
Hence why she suggested to go check it and see if Elena was there dragged by some of their other school friends and got side-tracked and forgot to let them know she was gone.
Arriving at the Lewis residence they saw what everyone was saying, the party was far more lively than Duke's and the music was in an odd language and rhythm.
"That's Ukrainian." Stefan said surprised by the music's language as they crossed the threshold.
"That's Elena!" Caroline exclaimed as they saw her jumping in circles with some others and singing along to the song. She was dressed in complete different outfit than the one she was wearing at Duke's.
This time around she was dressed in a deep blue spaghetti crop top that might have been a sports' bra, black jeans with a leather belt and same shade of blue as the top high heel boots. Her hair were put in a low rise ponytail at some point because she had a blue velvet scratchy in her wrist and now her hair were running wild while there was glitter on them. Her makeup was bold, a very bold choice for Elena's standards, consisted of an ombre blue and black eye shadow and winged eyeliner and a matte dark violet red lipstick.
As the odd Ukrainian song ended and another odd song started and it was called Käärijä - Cha Cha Cha.
"Is that Finnish?!" Stefan exclaimed in a mixture of shock and weird out. People went crazy again maybe even more than before because whenever the lyric "Cha cha cha" came on they all chanted it together.
Elena looked to be having the time of her life as she danced with a girl holding hands.
"My auto-playlist is about to end, girls, I have to return to my post, it was awesome seeing you, Lena!" The guy said as he squeezed her shoulder and pretty much yelled in her ear over the music.
Elena smiled and mouthed "Good luck!".
When the song ended the DJ guy put on a different song causing a bunch of people, Elena included to exclaim in a nostalgic way. The song was Daisy by Ashnikko.
Elena's friends and Stefan widen their eyes in shock hearing the actual lyrics and saw Elena grind next to the girl as they mouthed the lyrics. They couldn't believe how suggestive the dance moves and lyrics were. The song ended and Elena with the unknown girl moved to get some drink as the new song that was on didn't make people to dance so much. The song was Chemicals by NEONI and Besomorph.
Stefan was the first to push through the crowds just as another odd song started, Get Down by SIX. As he arrived at the kitchen he saw Elena hold a red cup and sipping and she looked amused by the song.
"Is that Get Down by the musical Six?" The girl Elena has been dancing with asked confused and surprised.
"Yep!" Elena said amused and the girl shook her head laughing.
"Elena?" Stefan asked taken aback just Boss Bitch by Doja Cat came up. The girl friend of Anna raised her eyebrows in shock as Elena panicked turned around to face not only him but her friends too.
"Stefan?!" She squawked like she was captured doing something illegal or unethical.
"Where have you been? You ditched me and your friends at Duke's." Stefan asked concerned keeping his cool because he was confused not mad.
"Shit! I'm sorry! I forgot to call you! Anna, this is my friend Anna, invited me at her party and because I didn't know where she lived I followed her and was meant to let you all know if the party was worth it but I forgot! I'm sorry! Where are Caroline and Bonnie? Are they with you? What about Matt, Tyler and Jer?" Elena rambled anxiously and Stefan smiled relieved.
"Matt, Tyler and Jer might be here I don't know but Caroline and Bonnie rode with me here so yeah, they are." Stefan assured her and Elena nodded a bit concerned about her brother's whereabouts.
"What is that music?" Stefan asked as Montero by Lil Nax X started playing and Stefan didn't like it one bit!
He also didn't miss they look exchange with Anna and Elena it was a mixture of amusement and "where do I start explaining to your uneducated ass" look. He was mildly offended by it.
"We don't know the DJ is pretty educated in music…maybe the music is from Canada or Europe." Anna said shrugging a bit awkwardly.
"And how do you know some of the songs, I saw you singing along to at least three songs and two of them weren't even in English?" Stefan asked suspiciously and offended. Elena shrugged.
"Maybe the alcohol helps…" Elena theorized as she kept sipping her drink. Just as Inferno by Bella Poarch and Sub Urban was finishing and she excused herself to go find her friends as People I Don't Like by UPSAHL came on.
Elena walked to find her friends who were by one side glued to the wall and watched as people on the dance floor went crazy dancing too provocatively for their tastes and upbringing.
She chuckled for a bit thinking how ironic it was that they were considered same generation as gen Z yet they act more like Millennials…
She put on her innocent Gilbert façade and started to apologize to them making sound genuine nothing of that was genuine. What was genuine was the panic feeling that her home friends would meet her work friends and then stumble upon her ARMORY dossier then Enzo and then Slater or Slater and then Enzo!
She might have had a fight with Enzo but she cared about him.
After her apology fest they all decided it was enough of partying for one day so they all went home.
And Elena snuggled into Finn's arms in her room the only place she could be her more vulnerable self.
"Not saying you need to forgive Enzo but please be careful of your lives." Finn mumbled as they were entangled. Her window locked. Unlike OG Elena she didn't lock her window allowing Stefan and later Damon free real estate. Now, she was putting boundaries because in the future she wanted to be with Finn, Finn was her endgame.
"I know…."
