It was Saturday I was just waking up. Damon hadn't exactly taken the news of Katherine not being in the tomb well. Rachel was already gone when I woke up. I was pretty sure that she was seeing Caroline. I was glad that the two of them were together now. Caroline needed someone who would appreciate her and Damon obviously didn't do that. It was weird because Rachel kept saying that she wasn't interested to me but it seemed like the human girl had gotten under her skin. She would eventually have to tell her that she was a vampire, but she didn't need to do it right now.

In other news, Bonnie's grandma died from using the spell. I would have thought that she would have brought something to channel or maybe she expected Bonnie's magic to be stronger. Something tells me that Anna's plan to have Bonnie open the tomb wouldn't have worked.

Speaking of Anna, we hadn't really talked since we had sex. I hadn't seen her at school, and it was possible that she had just left with her mother. I wasn't super bummed about it because I wasn't expecting any sort of relationship with her.

I heard the sound of loud music coming from the living room. I walked to the living room and saw Damon with a bunch of half-dressed girls, some of them bleeding. He had been self-medicating since Sunday and by that I mean he hadn't been sober since Sunday.

"Damon, what the fuck is this?" I asked. That got everyone to look at me and I realized that I was still wearing my skimpy nightgown. The girls looked jealous. "I'm his sister."

It was just easier to say that because it was less words and I wasn't sure if the girls would understand.

"Morning, Sis." Damon slurred. I couldn't help but wonder if he was so drunk that he believed it. I then turned off the music. "Did you really have to do that?"

"We need to talk." I declared.

"Maybe you should get dressed first." He suggested as I blushed.

"When I get back, I want to talk to you alone." I stated before I retreated to my room.

I went and put on a blue tank, pink cardigan and black lace miniskirt with dark eyeliner and black lipstick.

"You don't need to worry about me." He stated. That was usually something that made people worry about whoever said it. "For the last 145 years, I've had exactly one goal: get inside of that tomb. Granted, Katherine wasn't in the tomb, but I still succeeded. Now I'm just going to go on without a master plan. I now have a carefree life."

"That's what worries me." I explained. I still didn't completely trust him. I loved him but I didn't quite trust him.

"Relax. I haven't killed a human in…too long." He replied. I tried to think of the last time.

"What about them?" I asked as I looked over at the couch. We definitely couldn't have a bunch of dead sorority girls. That usually only happened in bad horror movies.

"They'll be back in their dorms with headaches, but otherwise won't remember anything." He told me. I sighed. I supposed the only thing that I could do was trust him.

I then got a text from Elena saying that she wanted me to come over. I went to put on some shoes before I headed out. I just hoped that Damon would have gotten rid of our guests by the time that I came back. I also wondered if Rachel or Stefan would be back by then.

When I got there, I couldn't help but notice that Elena looked distraught. Something that happened, but I probably should have assumed that since she said that she needed to talk to me right away.

"What's wrong?" I asked. We then went to her room for some reason. I supposed it would be easier to talk that way.

"Jenna found out some things about my birth mother." She stated. "She had a friend that lives around here named Trudie Peterson. She also told me that Mr. Saltzman's wife was named Isobel and she was from around here."

"So you're saying that Alaric's dead wife was your mother?" I asked.

"I'm saying that she might be." She responded. I personally thought it was too much of a coincidence to not be true. "I mean it seems too impossible to be true. I mean what are the chances that my new History teacher is actually my stepfather that I didn't even know I had?"

"I would say that they're higher than you think." I commented. Like I said, it seemed like too big of a coincidence. "So what are you going to do about it?"

"I was thinking about going to see Trudie later." She answered.

"Maybe I could go with you." I offered. It would definitely be an awkward situation. It wasn't everyday that your dead ex-best friend's daughter knocks on your door.

"I'm not even sure if I want to do it." She admitted. "Maybe I should just let it go if she's dead."

"So did Jenna ever tell you how Isobel died?" I asked. I mean I imagined that Alaric hadn't told her that he thought a vampire did it.

"She said that she was murdered but they never found her body." Elena answered. "How can she be classified as murdered if they didn't find the body. Why? Did you already know that?"

"He thinks a vampire killed her." I declared, and according to Stefan, it was Damon. I didn't even know if Damon would remember killing her. "Maybe you shouldn't talk to him about it yet until you're sure."

Stefan was supposed to help him find out about her. Apparently, he expected me to help him, even though I didn't really want to do it. I wished that Stefan hadn't volunteered me because I really didn't care about what Damon had done before he moved here because it was not stuff that I had any control over.

I started to walk home. Rachel had my car because she didn't have her own. I had some time to think. I wished that I had Anna's number even though I wasn't sure if I wanted a relationship with her. It was complicated by the fact that she also seemed to like Jeremy and the fact that I still hadn't had a relationship as a vampire. I had never been someone's girlfriend before and I didn't know how good I would be at it.

When I arrived home, I heard sounds but thought it was just Damon. I probably should have been listening more carefully because as soon as I got in my room, I saw Rachel naked on top of Caroline on the bed. They both looked at me and I blushed.

"Rachel, you know the rules." I said after I looked away. I then realized that I should probably leave. I headed downstairs, which gave them enough time to get dressed and for Caroline to leave. I needed some blood anyway…even though I had to get some from Damon's stash instead of my own.

I then headed back up after Caroline was gone.

"I can't believe you. You're the one who's been pressuring me to date this chick and just when I'm about to finally get laid, you come and twatblock me." She said.

"First off, I'm sorry." I told her. "Second, you know that we're not supposed to bring others to the bedroom, especially humans. You're the one who came up with it."

"She's not some drunk guy though." Rachel explained.

"So, I guess you really like her." I replied as I took a seat next to her. I couldn't help but wonder how Damon would feel about it. Of course, I was probably more concerned about how Elena would feel about it. "Why don't you tell me what you like about her?"

"She's smart and motivated, a little bit needy, but also really hot. There are so many great things about her." Rachel stated. "And she does everything. She's even running a Bachelor Auction tonight. Oh by the way, I told her that we would be there, so you're going to need to where something nice to that."

"Wow I never thought that I would see the day when you fell for someone." I responded. I mean technically, she had fallen for someone before, but that was before she became a vampire. She seemed like she was a lot more promiscuous when she turned, which probably came from her love of sex when she was human.

"I know and I'm kind of afraid that I'm going to mess this up and that she's going to freak out when she finds out that I'm a vampire, or that I'm going to try to bite her." She admitted. You know I was starting to think that Rachel might actually be in love with her.

"You're not going to bite her." I assured her. "But you really shouldn't bring her in here. She could find the blood and that would be really bad."

It would probably be best for Rachel to tell her herself than for Caroline to find out at some inopportune time. We didn't need another situation like what happened with Elena, even if that had turned out right in the end.

To be honest, I was a little bit jealous of Rachel. She had a girlfriend. I wanted a girlfriend. I didn't know if I wanted it to be Elena or Anna, but I wanted a girlfriend. I didn't even want a boyfriend. You know I always thought that I was bisexual, because I had had sex with guys before, but I don't think that I ever felt a genuine attraction to any of them. Maybe it was because I thought they were the only ones who could provide me the release before I realized that I could have sex with girls. I don't think that I'm bisexual at all. I think I'm a straight-up lesbian. That still didn't make it any easier. I was interrupted by a phone call.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Can you come and meet me in the woods?" The voice asked. It was Kelsey. You know I forgot that I had given her my number.

"Any particular part?" I questioned.

"It's not that far from Fell's Church." She said.

"I'll see you some soon." I told her before I hung up.

"You two should really get together." Rachel told me. "Then maybe we could go on double dates."

"Rachel, I can't go on public dates with my teacher." I pointed out before I headed out. I did wonder why she wanted to meet in that particular area.

"What's going on?" I asked her.

"I was out for a hike when I found this." Kelsey explained. You know I was surprised by how much she loved the outdoors. Anyway, what she took me to was a man's body and it looked like he had been stripped of his clothes.

"Oh." I remarked. "I don't think Damon did this."

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"I believe him when he says that he hasn't killed anyone in a long time. Besides, Damon would have no reason to take the guy's clothes." I pointed out. I didn't know who would, but they clearly had.

"Well there is something else I thought of. You said that this is where that tomb was." She remarked. "Do you think one of the vampires from there might have killed him?"

"No, they wouldn't be able to get out. The door was closed and they would also be desiccated." I replied. "I think for right now, we should treat this as a one-off and not worry about it, but I don't think you should come out alone."

It was also possible that Anna could have done it, but she said that she didn't feed on people and she would also not have a reason to take the clothes.

"I wish you had told me to bring a shovel." I stated as I grabbed the body.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Well we can't let anyone find this, especially not the council." I stated. "So I have to get rid of this."

I took the body and drove to where Wickery Bridge used to be. It would look like he decided to go for a swim and drowned, if they ever found the body that is. Was it the best idea, probably not, but it was the best I could think of at the time.

I then went home. I could hear that Elena was talking to Damon. Was she going to the Bachelor Auction too? I supposed it was the biggest event in the town for the evening. Why was she talking to Damon though?

"Brandy, I need help." Damon whined. I sighed and went up to his room where he was having trouble buttoning his shirt. That was a sign that he was definitely too drunk.

"I have to dress my brother." I told Elena as I started to do it for him.

"He's not your brother." Elena reminded me.

"He might as well be." I said. "So did you end up seeing Trudie?"

"Yeah, I did." She answered.

"Ugh, if you're going to gossip, do it somewhere else." Damon stated. Elena just walked out of the room. I then headed downstairs to see that Stefan was there, but also Elena was not.

"Where's Elena?" I asked.

"She's waiting in the car." He explained. "So I need you to ask Damon about Isobel."

"Why do I need to do it?" I questioned. It seemed like he was perfectly of doing it himself.

"Because he likes you more than me." Stefan declared. Okay…that was true. "He's less likely to think you're up to something."

I sighed as Stefan went out. It looked like I was going to be riding with Damon. Actually, I was probably going to be driving since he obviously couldn't.

"So I need to talk to you about something." I said. "About two years ago, there was a woman at Duke named Isobel. I want to ask you about her."

"Why?" He retorted.

"Did you kill her?" I asked, deciding to be blunt.

"Maybe, but I killed a lot of people two years ago. Who wants to know?" He challenged.

"Me." I stated. I supposed that I did want to know.

"Who else?" He asked. I sighed. It went about as well as I thought it did.

I supposed that I did have some questions about what happened to Isobel. The biggest thing was what happened to her body. Also, if she was a parapsychologist, maybe she actually believed some of the things that she studied. Maybe she had sought Damon out. That was when it all clicked. I knew what happened. I wasn't sure how it happened, but I knew what happened.

When I got to the Grill, I knew that I needed to get a drink with a little bit of alcohol mixed into it. It was then that I remembered that they didn't currently have a bartender since Ben was dead. That sucked. Anyway, when I got there, I came across Rachel and Caroline making fun of Matt.

"He's total cougar bait." Caroline told me. Apparently older woman thought he was attractive and that…disgusted me. Why did people think it was okay for an older woman to hit on a younger guy but not an older man to hit on a young girl. Both of them were equally wrong.

"It's not funny, Caroline." Matt said with a blush.

"It's kind of funny." Rachel replied. I wasn't sure if she believed it or if she was just saying it because Caroline had said it.

"So anyway, my mom is here." Matt stated. I didn't know he had a mom. I just thought both of his parents were dead.

It was then that I realized that Damon was in the auction. How did I not know that? In addition, Alaric was there and three other guys that I didn't know. Maybe it would have been better to have a bachelorette auction instead, but I had a feeling that they wouldn't go for that because they didn't want to objectify woman. I saw Kelsey and took a seat next to her.

"So I handled that thing." I told her.

"What did you do?" She asked.

"I'd rather not talk about it with all of these people around." I remarked. Especially since Caroline's mom was there. "So what are you doing here?"

"I came here for dinner. Had I known they were doing this, I would have gone somewhere else." She explained.

When the auction started, the first thing that I noticed was Mrs. Lockwood was the emcee. That just seemed wrong. Why did they have a married woman fawning over all of these men? Maybe it was because she was a good public speaker, but it still seemed wrong. Also, some of these guys were losers. If they couldn't get good bachelors, why did they even have this event? It seemed like it was poorly-planned but I wasn't going to say that because I was sure that Caroline had worked really hard on it. It seemed like she worked hard on everything.

"These guys are losers." Kelsey whispered to me. I was glad to know that I wasn't the only one who thought so.

Finally it got to Alaric and I had a feeling that he and Damon would get all of the bids. Of course there was another problem with Damon being in the auction and that was that I didn't want him feeding on whoever was lucky enough to put in the winning bid for him. It was going to be a problem and I really wished that he was not involved in this thing. I would definitely have to keep an eye on him.

Alaric seemed like he wasn't the best at being the center of attention. You would think that as a teacher he would be more used to it, but of course as a teacher most people didn't want to have sex with him. You could really see how uncomfortable these things made those involved and I didn't think I would be able to do something like it.

Of course when it came to Damon, he decided to be an asshole and basically admit to killing Isobel in a way that was subtle but completely obvious to whoever knew about it. I couldn't believe…okay yes I could but it was still extremely rude. Elena stormed out of the restaurant and I followed after her.

"Damon? Damon killed my mother?" She asked. "I was feeling sorry for him."

"It was two years ago. He didn't know she was your mother." I explained.

"Why are you defending him?" She questioned.

"Because I love him and I want to believe that he's changed." I answered. She then stopped as she looked at someone. It was a rather creepy looking gentleman. "That man. That was outside of Trudie Peterson's house."

"We should head inside." I suggested.

At that point, Elena headed inside and slapped him.

"Did I mention that my mother's name was Isobel Saltzman?" She asked. "Did you want to rub it into me too?"

I wasn't sure, but it looked like there was a bit of remorse on his face. I wondered if telling her that Isobel wasn't dead would help. I then followed her back outside and noticed that the creepy man was still standing there.

"Hey you! Get out of here!" I shouted.

"I have a message for you." He said. Oh, shouting at him wasn't going to help.

"From who?" Elena asked.

"Stop looking. She doesn't want to know you." He continued. "Do you understand?"

"Who? Isobel?" She questioned.

"Elena, he's been compelled." I told her.

"Do you understand?" He repeated.

"Yes." Elena answered.

"Good. I'm done now." The man stated. Of course, I wasn't expecting what he did next. He stepped in front of a truck and got flattened. It looked like I wouldn't have to tell her that Isobel wasn't dead now. I still didn't understand why she had to compel him to kill himself as soon as he delivered the message. It seemed like an email could have served the same purpose.

I decided to check on Rachel to see what she was doing and she was making out with Caroline. I did wonder if she was going to spend some nights at home. To my surprise, she did come back with me as soon as she was done making out.

The two of headed home where the fire was burning. Damon was by the fire but more importantly Alaric's body was in front of him.

"What did you do?" I asked. I couldn't believe that he had killed another History teacher.

"He attacked me. I defended myself." Damon argued. "He couldn't handle the fact that his wife didn't want him anymore. Hey I wonder if Katherine was the one who sent Isobel to me."

"Katherine doesn't care about you!" Rachel shouted. That was blunt, but seemingly true. I was trying to figure out how we were going to explain the teacher's sudden death.

Rachel had gone to get a shovel when I noticed that he was starting to twitch before he suddenly woke up, gasping for air. Okay that was unexpected. He ripped open his shirt to see that there was no wound.

"Did Damon turn you?" I questioned. Him being a vampire would probably actually be worse than Damon killing him because he wouldn't be able to return to his job without a daylight ring and we had no way to provide him with one of those. It made my wish that Damon had killed him.

"No." He answered. What did he mean no? There wasn't any way that he could be alive without being a vampire. Well I suppose that there was a protection spell but those tended to have short shelf lives and I was pretty sure that he didn't know any witches.

"You have to have had vampire blood in your system or you wouldn't be alive right now." I said as Rachel returned.

"Oh my god. I've heard of those." She stated as she looked at his hand. "I thought they were just a myth."

"What? His ring?" I questioned.

"The rumor that I heard was they could protect humans from being killed by otherworldly creatures. Where did you get this?" She asked him.

"I got it from Isobel. She said that it would protect me." He explained. Well that explained that. It was still a problem though.

So this was a bit of a filler. Brandy ended up catching Caroline with Rachel and Rachel actually noticed that it was the ring that saved Alaric. And finally Brandy came to the realization that she is a lesbian. Please don't forget to review.
