Hello! Thank you for reading my story, and I really hope you enjoy it. This is my first multi-chapter fanfic (second fanfic overall), and I'm going to try my best to do a good job with it. So, without further ado, read on!
Bloom's Believix spell was called 'Strength of Life'. So they really should have figured out that the Believix magic could restore Nabu a whole lot sooner. Preferably before Aisha had joined Nebula's army of vengeance and they'd all almost got crushed in a cave-in in Omega.
But, y'know, live and learn. It had only taken Tecna about twenty minutes of reading the digitised copies of the books in the Hall of Enchantments to find out that they could use their Believix powers to restore Nabu's strength and wake him up from his magically-induced coma, and the only catch was that they'd lose their Believix powers forever! Okay, maybe that was a pretty big catch, especially for Roxy, who'd somehow managed to earn Believix before any other transformations and wasn't totally sure that she had another transformation, but nobody cared if it meant bringing Nabu back.
'Everyone ready?' Bloom looked around at the other Winx standing around Nabu's still body in their Believix forms.
'Ready,' everyone chorused.
'Then let's do this.'
Flora stepped forwards to get them started. 'Breath of the World!' Her Believix wings glowed and transformed into hundreds of brightly-coloured magical leaves, flying over to hover above Nabu as she turned back into her human form.
'Bright Heart!' Musa's wings turned into a score of musical notes and joined Flora's leaves.
'Dawn of Light!' Stella's wings turned into a shower of stars.
'Gem of Mind!' Tecna's wings became thousands of ones and zeros.
'Heart of the Wild!' Roxy felt the Believix energy to which she'd grown so accustomed flow out of her, her wings becoming a trail of magical paw-prints that joined her friends' magic in the glowing orb above Nabu.
'Spirit of Courage!' Aisha's voice trembled as her wings became a stream of pink bubbles. Roxy could see her eyes shining with the desperate hope she knew she was trying not to feel, and she hoped with all her heart that the spell would work.
'Strength of Life!' Bloom's wings became a burning dragon that flew into the orb; instantly, the swirling magic glowed brighter, and the Winx had to shield their eyes against the sudden blinding light as their Believix powers combined.
'It's working!' Stella cried excitedly as the magic slowly descended and spread its warm light over Nabu, completely enveloping the magician in the positive energy. Everyone held their breath. The Winx. The specialists. The Earth Fairies that had come to see what would happen. Even the wind stopped blowing for a moment.
Then, the light vanished, and Roxy's heart dropped when she saw Nabu still lying there, eyes closed. She heard a strangled sob from Aisha, and was about to turn to comfort her friend when her breath caught in her throat. Had Nabu's chest...had it just moved? She watched closely, and saw another faint rise and fall.
'He's breathing!' she cried, and Aisha flung herself onto her knees next to her boyfriend.
'...Nabu?' Her voice was barely a whisper. 'Nabu?' Nabu was still for a moment, then he coughed. Aisha let out a cry of joy and tears streamed down her face.
'...Aisha?' Nabu opened his eyes and looked up at his girlfriend.
'Nabu!' Aisha screamed, flinging her arms around him. 'You're alive! Oh, you're alive, you're alive, you're alive...' Nabu hugged her tightly as she sobbed.
'Shh, shh, it's okay...'
Everyone present cheered as Aisha and Nabu kissed, overjoyed that the two were together again.
When Aisha and Nabu finally came out of their much-deserved kiss, Riven threw his arms around his best friend, closely followed by the other Specialists, then the Winx, then Roxy, until they were all just a huge, weepy, hugging pile of limbs and joy.
'Roxy! Two strawberry smoothies!'
'Coming right up, Dad!' Roxy was making smoothies at a mile a minute to keep the customers of the packed bar happy. So far that day, she'd fought vengeance fairies, travelled to another dimension and defeated the Wizards of the Black Circle, and somehow it looked like her greatest challenge all day would be getting smoothies to what felt like seven-hundred people in what felt like twenty seconds. But she didn't mind; she was just happy to be home, working next to her dad. As for Klaus, he was thrilled to have his daughter home and his wife back after ten years of not being able to remember her, and he and Morgana could barely keep their hands off each other, though they were thankfully keeping things PG. Roxy was very impressed that her dad could hold her mom's hand and still make smoothies at a pace to satisfy all his customers.
'Roxy!' Bloom waved her over from a table on one of the ships.
'Dad, I'm just going to step away for a minute.' Roxy looked to her father, who gave her a quick nod and simultaneously kissed Morgana and made six peach smoothies.
Roxy fought her way through the crowd, dodging dancing patrons and ducking past Sky carrying a tray of smoothies.
'Whoa! Hey, Roxy.'
'Hey, Sky!' She continued to push through the crowd. Despite the fact that none of these people had been present for, or were even aware of, the intense battles that had taken place that day, the Winx and Specialists' air of celebration was contagious, and everyone was dancing like there was no tomorrow, which made walking across the venue a little tricky.
'What's up, Bloom?' Roxy asked as she finally freed herself from the crowd and sat down at Bloom's table.
'Roxy, you remember Miss Faragonda, right?' Bloom gestured towards an older woman with puffy white hair and a lot of laughter lines sitting across from them at the table.
'Of course!' Roxy smiled at the Alfea headmistress. 'It's a pleasure to meet you in person.'
'You too, my dear.' Faragonda returned her smile.
'Miss Faragonda came to Earth to congratulate us on our success against the wizards, and I wanted to officially introduce you two,' Bloom explained.
'I'm very impressed with you, Roxy,' Faragonda said, making Roxy blush. 'Earth is lucky to have such a brave, determined, talented princess.'
'Thank you, Miss Faragonda.' Roxy paused for a moment. '...Miss Faragonda? I'm actually glad you're here. I'm really sorry again for freaking out on you when we first met and you mentioned Alfea. I've actually thought about what you said some more, and I was wondering...Is that offer to attend Alfea still good?'
Faragonda's face broke into a wide smile. 'Of course it is, dear. We'd be thrilled to have you at Alfea.'
Bloom clapped in delight. 'Hooray! We're going to be at school together!' She threw her arms around Roxy. 'You're going to love Alfea!'
'I'm sure I will...Wait, did you say we'll be at school together?' Roxy looked at Bloom in confusion. 'I thought you all graduated.'
'Well, we did.' Bloom paused for a moment. 'We graduated from the standard Alfea three-year course aimed at earning Enchantix, but if this adventure, today especially, has taught us anything, it's that we need to know far more about our powers to be the guardian fairies we all aspire to be. So we talked about it, and we decided to enrol in Alfea's advanced program for fairies that have already become guardians, to help us be more prepared for future threats. After all, we were woefully under-prepared when the Wizards of the Black Circle showed up at Alfea, and we don't ever want to find ourselves in that position again. So, we'll be at Alfea with you!'
'Well, that's...That's awesome!' Roxy hugged Bloom. 'I'm really glad I'm going to know people at Alfea, and I can't wait to see the not-a-frozen-prison parts of the Magic Dimension.'
'And we'll be happy to show them to you,' Bloom said. 'Now, if you'll excuse me, I can see a very impatient Musa waiting for me on stage.' Bloom got up and hurried over to the stage for the Winx's concert.
'I'm going to get a bit closer to the stage,' Faragonda told Roxy. 'My girls have been talking about this band for a while now; I'm very excited to see them perform.' She got up from the table. 'Are you coming?'
'I'll be over in a minute,' Roxy replied. 'Go ahead without me; you don't want to miss the start.' Faragonda smiled and vanished into the crowd.
Roxy watched her go, before turning her gaze to the stars up above her, glinting in the clear night sky like a thousand diamonds. Were any of them the planets of the Magic Dimension? Could she see Magix from here? Or Domino? Andros, Eraklyon, Zenith? Omega? She shivered as she thought of that last one. She dearly hoped she couldn't see Omega from Earth, that none of the glittering pinpricks of light were the icy hell-scape she'd traversed only that morning with the Winx, where the Wizards of the Black Circle were now imprisoned forever. She still couldn't quite believe that the Fairy Hunters were now nothing more than ice cubes in the depths of Omega; they'd finally been defeated. After months of fighting, it was finally over. It was the end.
In a well-hidden house in Alaska, a girl with long pink hair in a messy ponytail sat silently on her bed, trying to make sense of what her magic was telling her. Gone. They were gone. All of them. Her shoulders shook, and a tear slid down her face, quickly followed by hundreds more as she broke down and sobbed, the sound echoing endlessly around the empty house.
Yes, Nabu is back. I had to bring Nabu back before I did anything else, because he didn't deserve to die in the show, and I love him and Aisha as a couple, plus his friendship with Riven is great.
The Winx and Roxy don't have Believix anymore (Roxy had did have Believix, despite not having Charmix or Enchantix. I'll explain how later), so the Winx are going back to Enchantix, which they do at the end of season 4 anyway, and Roxy's going to get her full fairy evolution.
I'll reveal more about the girl at the end over the next couple of chapters, don't worry. If you liked the chapter, please favourite the story or review!
