Let's just say things got really quiet in the household when the secret was revealed. Peter moved to sit on a chair while Lois sat across from him and had her arms crossed. Lois was just sitting there and waiting for some explanation from her son.
Lois asks him, "When? When did this happen?"
Peter sighed and knew he needed to answer the question. "Since my trip to LexCorp," he said.
Lois was shocked and also upset that she hadn't put it together herself. "A month. You kept this from me for a month?"
"Well, in my defense, I wasn't quite sure what was going on with me," Peter defended why he kept it from her. "But then, when I finally got these... powers under control, I thought that maybe I was given these powers for a reason. Superman is gone, and the people in this city need help. Someone has to help."
"So, why do you think it has to be you?" Lois asked him, causing Peter to wonder if this was some sort of interview.
Peter looked down as he thought about why he was doing this. "Because I have this great power," he said, "and I can't help but feel like with this great power, I have a responsibility to try and protect people." He sighed as he looked up at his mother. "You raised me to do the right thing. To not look the other way when someone needs help."
Lois couldn't believe her luck; she had tried her hardest to keep her son away from wanting to do something like this. And yet somehow he managed to find a way to do exactly what she didn't want him to do. She didn't want to see her son going out there risking his life to save people. She wasn't sure that her heart could take it. But how could she be mad if he was trying to do the right thing?
"Okay, look, I'm not mad," Lois assures him. "But...look, we're both tired, and you look like you've taken a beating."
Peter almost completely forgot about Livewire until he looked down at his scorched suit. "Yeah, something like that," he said.
Lois got up and pecked his head. "Get some sleep. We'll discuss this more in the morning."
"Okay," Peter complies.
The two then took their separate ways toward their bedrooms. As Peter got ready to enter his room, he sighed and looked at his mask. He started wondering if it was worth going out there if his mother was always going to worry about him now.
"Peter..."
Peter flinched as he looked around, trying to see if he could locate the source of the voice. He walked around his room, glancing out the window and noticing a strange figure. The figure simply stared towards the window in Peter's home, and he had a feeling he knew who it was.
"This way..."
A small gust of wind followed the voice and caused Peter to look towards his doorway, but he saw nothing there. He looked back out the window and noticed there was no sign of the figure. Worried that something was up, Peter slipped his mask back on and opened his window. He crawled out and then stuck to the wall before he leaped and shot out a web to catch himself. Swinging his way over toward where the strange figure was standing.
"Over here..."
Deciding to just follow the strange voice, Peter ran across from rooftop to rooftop to find out who was speaking to him. He kept going and skidded to a halt when he saw that the voice was leading him right toward LexCorp Tower. He looked and noticed the figure who stared at him as he made his way inside the tower through the back entrance. Worried that he might report who he is to Lex Luthor, he swung his way over and landed right outside, noticing that their cameras were down.
Peter comments, "That's not suspicious," as he walks inside the building, searching for the figure.
"This way..."
Peter continued to follow the voice, now questioning whether he was simply walking into some sort of trap. Of all the things that could happen, this was the last thing he needed. As he turned a corner, he heard a guard patrolling the hallways on foot. Panicking, he quickly shot two webs into the nearest air duct and slipped inside. Fortunately, he was small and agile enough to maneuver through the duct without causing any harm. As the guard began to approach, Peter breathed a sigh of relief when he realized the guard hadn't noticed him.
"So close..." The voice came back and it was from inside the ducts.
Peter then started to crawl through the ducts to try and find who was calling him. When he reached the end of the ducts, he opened it up and looked around. He found himself in the area where Lex was experimenting on the recent captures from that space exploration. He looked around and was shocked at the creatures that he saw inside of them. Some had even been killed due to the testing that had been done on them over the past month.
While he was looking around, the young girl who was captured noticed the boy and saw he could be her chance to escape. Her uniform consists of a sleeveless violet crop top, a violet miniskirt, a silver belt, and thigh-high violet boots with silver soles and bands at the top. She wears a silver gorget with a round green gem embedded into it, silver bracers with green gems over the backs of her hands, and a silver armband on her upper right arm.
She struggled to rip off the restraints, with the boy seemingly not even noticing she was trapped. She fought against the precautions Lex had put in place, which included the restraints that were shocking her. She managed to rip one hand free, which allowed her to stand up and hurl the stool at the window.
The dimmed windows began to glitch, allowing Peter to hear that she was there. When he turned towards the glass, he saw the girl trying to break it by banging her fists against it.
"Sabari!" The girl cried in terror as she tried to break the glass. "A to n ka bɔ! I ka kan ka ne bila ka bɔ!"
Peter wasn't sure what was going on as he approached her and saw the terror on her face. "Are you asking for help?"
"Aw ye ne bɔ yan!" She cried, and Peter could see the tears in her eyes.
Peter saw that she was in some sort of pain and couldn't leave her like this. "Alright, hang on!" he said.
Backing away, she listened to his pleas as she thought he was leaving her. However, Peter was actually doing the exact opposite; he was getting a running start. Racing towards the glass, he rammed into it and grimaced from the pain. Limping, he dropped to the ground in agony. After catching her breath, the girl walked over and felt the boy's head and saw he wasn't bleeding.
"Yala i bɛ ka ɲɛ wa?"
"Uh...I... I'm fine," Peter guessed she was checking up on him. "Look, we gotta..."
His senses then went off and he jumped to his feet, looking up and noticing armed guards running in. "Oh, shit! She's free!"
Peter looked and saw that the girl he had just rescued was now beginning to glow green. He quickly shielded his eyes as she then sent beams of green energy out of her hands toward him. He quickly ducked out of the way and the green beams of energy flew across the room and hit the guards. The two men were hit by the beam and flung backward, crashing into the canisters containing the last surviving Symbiote.
"Okay, that happened," Peter said, unsure of how to process what he had just seen. He held his hand out for her to take. "Come on, let's get out of here."
The girl took his hand and they ran out into the hallway. On the way, Peter ended up stepping on a pile of goo that clung to his boot. As they were running to find an exit, Equinox watched them leave. He saw that his job was complete after successfully getting Spider-Man and the Symbiote together.
"The light has found its darkness. Balance has been restored." With those words, Equinox disappeared into thin air.
Peter and the girl ran until Peter found a nearby window he could use to escape. He webbed a chair, tossing it at the window, causing the window to shatter and glass to fly. Peter grabbed onto the girl, holding her by the waist, then leaped out the window. As he got far enough out, he then shot a web to swing them away as the LexCorp alarms blared.
Peter swung around and toppled onto the nearest rooftop, where the girl he had just saved ended up using him as a cushion. He was okay with this, since he wasn't sure if she would be able to survive the fall herself; just because she could shoot energy didn't necessarily mean she had the endurance to withstand the impact of such a fall.
"Are you all right?" Peter asks her.
"Ne bɛ ka ɲɛ. A' ni cɛ." She said in relief.
"I'm going to guess that was a 'thank you,'" Peter said uncertainly.
She seemed to be annoyed that he didn't understand her and had an idea. Reaching over his body, he wasn't sure what she was doing until she found a gap between the mask and suit. She then ripped his mask off and moved in to kiss him. Peter wasn't sure what was happening; she did indeed kiss him, but he was kind of frozen in complete confusion.
She then sighed as she leaned back and wiped her lips. "Thank you," she said.
"You...you can talk now?" Peter asked, becoming slightly confused.
She confessed, "I could always talk, but I was speaking Tamaranian."
"Tamaranian?" Peter asked, slightly confused. "So, you're an alien?"
"Yes," she confirmed with a nod. "My name is Koriand'r. And what is the name of my rescuer?"
"Uh...Spider-Man. But you can call me Peter Lane." Peter decided he needed to tell her his name. He had a feeling she wouldn't be safe anywhere, and that he would need to take her with him since Luthor would be coming for her. "Why did you kiss me?"
Koriand'r explains to him, "My species can learn to understand and speak languages through physical contact with others."
"Okay, but why not go for my hand or something? Why a kiss specifically?" Peter was still a little lost.
Koriand'r shrugs. "Because it was enjoyable."
Peter was not entirely certain how to respond and shrugged. "I can't really disagree with that," he said.
The alarms from LexCorp started to die down, and Peter sighed as he saw them give up their search. She, however, had some questions. "What do we do now?"
Peter sighed and realized there was only one thing he could do. He just wasn't sure how he would explain it to his mother.
Peter ended up taking the Tameranian girl to his home, he sneaked them in the exact same way he just sneaked in a while ago. And just like he sneaked in a while back, Lois was already there and was pouring herself a drink.
"Should I even ask?" Lois asks when she saw the orange-skinned girl.
Peter considered at first lying like he had been doing for the last month. But he might as well come clean since she knew his secret. "Would you believe I was following a voice and ended up in LexCorp where I found and bailed her out?"
Lois stood there as she took in what she was just told and sighed. "I am too tired to be considering that. Where were you planning to put her?"
"I was thinking of letting her have my room for the night, and id take the couch," Peter explains and gestured to the couch.
Lois shrugged and decided that was exceptional. "Okay, we'll be discussing this along with the Spider-Man thing tomorrow." She promises and walked over to the girl. "What's your name?"
"Koriand'r, miss." Koriand'r introduced herself.
"Koriand'r. Nice name." Lois told her. "Come with me."
Peter watched the two girls walk down into the other rooms and sighed as he sat down on the couch. He then started to lie down to try and sleep, and that's when the goo started to make its work.
The ooze from the Symbiote started to travel up the boy as he started to drift off to sleep. When he started to wake up, he gasped when he saw the goo surrounding his head and consumed his body. By the time he noticed, it had already reached his head and consumed his vision.
"What is this?"
