The next morning, Peter didn't bother his mother as she was fast asleep. He had heard her scurrying and shuffling around all night. He couldn't really blame her, considering she was being held hostage by a serial killer who apparently had a crush on her.
After realizing that his actions may have caused some trouble, he felt compelled to make it up to his mother by doing something special for her. He decided to surprise her with a delicious breakfast in bed, hoping it would brighten her mood and bring a smile to her face. As he carefully prepared the food, he couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt for sneaking out and leaving his mother worried. He knew that his actions could have prevented some of the events from the previous night, including Batman finding out his true identity. However, it was too late to change the past, and he could only hope that his small gesture would make up for it in some way. Despite his regrets, he felt content knowing that he was doing something nice for the person who had always been there for him.
While Peter was making some French toast, Venom helped him out with the eggs. Since they had this symbiotic relationship, Venom could use Peter's memories and knowledge to help find ways to make it.
While he was cooking, Korin had woken up and made her way towards the kitchen. "Happy sunrise, Peter," she said.
"Her broken English is going to get old soon," Venom warned Peter.
"Yeah, we need to work on that," Peter agreed. "But definitely not right now." Then he turned to Kori. "Hey, Kori. Good morning. Hang on, and I'll get you some food."
"You cook?" Kori sounded surprised.
Peter said, "I'm not Gordon Ramsay, but I can cook a decent breakfast." As he handed her a plate of pancakes he had already made in advance.
"Thank you," Kori said as she began to eat her food.
Peter made his way to his mother's room and carried a tray of her food using his Venom. When they made it to the door, Peter opened it and walked over to the bed.
"Mom?" Peter tried to wake her up quietly. "Good morning."
Lois groaned as she started to wake up. When she did, she noticed her son was there and holding out a tray of food.
"Oh, sweetie, you didn't have to do this," said Lois, expressing her gratitude for having a caring son. "But I'm glad you did." She then took some of the French toast and took a bite. "Thanks, sweetie."
"Don't mention it," Peter said. Feeling somewhat responsible for what had happened to her. "You take it easy today. I'll handle things around here; I won't even go outside."
"Okay, now you make it sound like I'm holding you captive or something," Lois stated with a chuckle. "I'm not gonna have you staying around here all day, especially when I need to get out. I have a lunch date with a friend."
"You do?" Peter asks.
"It's more for a story than anything," Lois said, trying to hide her true intentions. "Especially after everything that went down with the Carnage Killer, Perry wants me to take things easy."
"Well, I'm still gonna hang back. I don't really want to get back out there, especially after everything I had to go through with the Carnage Killer." Peter shuttered as he recalled the dead body, the close call with his anger, and that bite that he got from Cletus.
Lois sighed as she smiled at how considerate her son was and returned to her breakfast in bed. It was nice to not have to be in a rush, and she even managed to stay back for a real breakfast and conversation with her son for the first time in a while.
As the sun rose and the city buzzed with activity, a group of people sat in a cozy cafe, sipping coffee and chatting over plates of delicious breakfast. Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Felicia, also known as the Black Cat, was struggling to get out of bed. Her platinum blonde hair was disheveled and covered her face, making it difficult to see. She let out a groan and muttered to herself, feeling the effects of a long night. Despite the exhaustion, her mind was already racing. With the recent jailbreak and the notorious Carnage Killer still on the loose, tonight was the perfect opportunity for some thieving. She couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at the prospect of adding to her collection, even though she knew it was dangerous. With a deep breath, Felicia swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, ready to face the challenges of the day.
Nobody, not even Felicia's caregiver Maggie, was any the wiser as to what she had been doing the other night. She then reached under her bed grabbed hold of the small chest she kept and opened it up. She found some of the jewels that she had stolen the other night, and one of them happened to be a diamond cat.
"Kitty likes," Felicia purred as she scratched the Diamond as if she were testing it to see if it was a real diamond. But when she looked over at the clock and noticed that the time was currently noon. "Odd..." If it was that late, there was no way Maggie was going to have let her sleep in. "Maggie?"
When she didn't receive a response, Felicia became a little worried. She quickly got up and began walking around the apartment in search of her aunt.
"Maggie?" Felicia was beginning to grow more and more scared to see there wasn't even any sign she even made it home. "Oh, god..."
Overwhelmed by the sudden disappearance of her aunt, Felicia found herself on the brink of a meltdown. She frantically searched for any clues that could lead her to her beloved relative. Meanwhile, Lois, dressed to the nines, arrived at the luxurious restaurant to meet the one and only Bruce Wayne. As she sipped on her wine, she couldn't help but admire his charming demeanor and impeccable sense of style. The restaurant buzzed with the sounds of clinking glasses and chattering guests, but Lois remained focused on her accomplished lunch companion.
"So, it's been almost two months. Still no sign of our man in blue?" Lois asks Bruce, wondering if the Justice League had any idea what happened to Superman.
"Sorry to say, there hasn't been any news on what happened to him since the explosion," Bruce says. "Honestly, we spent most of our time looking into Lex Luthor because we figured he had him kidnapped."
"Happy to say, I figured the same thing at first," Lois admitted with a scoff. "But turns out, I was wrong and instead I ended up with two alien refugees courtesy of Spider-Man."
Bruce nodded as he took a drink. "Spider-Man. He's a good kid. You should be proud of him."
Lois almost choked on her drink when she heard that and coughed a little. "Why would I be proud?"
"I might or might not know that he's your son," Bruce said, deciding to not keep that secret. Lois had to admit that she wasn't surprised he discovered the truth. "A son who's fifteen years old. Genius brain, poor athlete, puts more effort into helping others any way he can after an incident a few months ago."
Lois sighed and was grateful he wasn't diving too deep into her son. Well, he has, just in the areas that she was happy weren't certain others.
"He didn't get the brains from my side," Lois said with a smirk, "but I'm not sure if they're from his father either." She glanced at Bruce, apparently anticipating the inevitable question. "I think that was going to be your next question."
"Is the father in the picture?" Bruce asked. "Is it our missing friend?"
Lois informed Bruce, "Clark isn't the father." She continued, "The father hasn't been in the picture for a long time."
"What happened?" Bruce wonders.
"Let's just say he became a little too much too quickly, and when he left, he left me a little extra," Lois said as she recalled how Peter came to be. "I did consider abortion, adoption, but... let's just say when something grows inside you for nine months, you grow attached to it."
"You make your son sound like a parasite," Bruce commented.
"I mean it in all good fun," Lois says. She doesn't mean anything she says about her son. He's a highlight of her life, and she wouldn't change him for the world. "Peter's a great kid, and I'm lucky to have someone like him. Just do me a favor and leave him alone. You can watch him from a distance, but leave him be when it comes to Spider-Man."
"I keep no promises," Bruce said.
Back at the household, Peter and Venom were hard at work cleaning. Peter was wiping down the countertops in the kitchen while Venom used the vacuum on the carpet. Koriand'r was also helping out as she dusted the curtains and fans from the accumulated dust. Her ability to fly made the task a hundred times easier.
"Well, I say that about does it." Peter sighed as he walked over and dropped on the couch. "Are you done there, Koriand'r?"
Kori then flew downward and landed on the couch beside Peter. "Yes, I have completed the task of dusting."
"Great. Now let's spend the rest of the day teaching her some proper grammar." Venom proclaimed in annoyance.
"V, leave her alone. I think it's kinda cute." Peter admitted, blushing when he realized what he said. Kori didn't seem to take the compliment as anything other than a friendly compliment. "Uh, well, I mean it also helps make her feel like she's from a foreign country, rather than a foreign planet."
"Alright, this got weird; let's change the subject and watch some TV," Venom said.
Venom seemed to take it upon himself to do just that. He stretched a part of his tentacle out of Peter and grabbed the remote. He turned on the television, which seemed to still be playing the news, and they were surprised by it.
"We're not entirely sure what happened, but it looks like someone scratched a message into the glass of the exhibit." The newscaster reported, showing a missing priceless Diamond from the museum exhibit, the camera panning in on the message.
'Come find me, Spider. At the place of our first date. Please.'
There was also what looked to be a little emoji spider scratched into the glass. Not to mention that it was then followed by a heart scratched next to it.
Peter grumbled as he recalled the criminal who had escaped. "Black Cat."
"That cute girl in the black suit?" Venom asks, getting a confused and slightly disturbed look from Peter. "I am just saying what you were thinking."
Peter muttered, "That doesn't mean you have to say it." He shook his head. "Our first date? What could she be talking about?" He then scoffed and stood up. "What could she possibly want from me?"
"Who is Black Cat?" Kori asked curiously.
"She's this girl I couldn't stop because the cops came in and thought I was a criminal," Peter recalled the police's first reaction to him. Shoot first. At least Superman was bulletproof. "I have no idea what she could possibly want from me."
"Are you going to go see?" Kori asks.
"Why would I want to do that?" Peter scoffs as he took some bread and made himself a quick sandwich. Venom constantly made him hungry, meaning that he needed to consume food almost constantly. "She's a criminal."
"But she seems to be asked for help," Kori informed him. Her English seems to finally be getting better. "Are you not a hero? I thought that's what here's do."
Peter couldn't believe he was being spoken to by an alien who needed his help in understanding human interactions. But it was certainly something that he needed to hear. The Black Cat had risked herself and her freedom to contact him. He should at least listen to what she had to say.
"Alright, I'll go." Peter decided to go see her. "But I don't know where to go."
Kori wondered, "Where did you have your first date?"
"I never had one. And especially not with her." Peter proclaimed in annoyance. "I mean, the only time that we met was..." realization struck Peter before he could finish. "Oh, I get it."
Felicia sat atop the roof of the jewelry store she had robbed only a few weeks earlier. She sighed as she tapped her claws against the brick surface and waited for her hero to arrive. She wasn't even sure if he would show up. But when Felicia heard web-swinging, she looked and saw Spider-Man landing on top of the billboard. She has just now gotten a good look at his new black Symbiote outfit as she's only seen it on the news. She had to say that the black really works for him.
"Ooh, now that I like," Felicia commented as she walked over to him. "Glad to say that I inspired you."
"Black Cat," Peter whispered, his Spider-Sense tingling with a mixture of caution and curiosity. Or that could be Venom, it was really hard to tell sometimes. "What brings you here?"
Felicia gazed at Peter's lenses with a blend of determination and vulnerability. "I don't say this lightly, but..." She paused, swallowing hard before continuing. "I need your help. My aunt...she's vanished." Felicia's voice trembled as she spoke, betraying her worry. "She's basically the only family I have left, and I fear something terrible has happened to her."
Peter's empathetic nature resonated with Black Cat's distress. He knew the importance of family and understood the pain of losing loved ones. He had never really experienced losing a family member himself, not even his missing father.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Peter told her. "Have you contacted the authorities?"
Felicia shook her head, her luminous green eyes filled with uncertainty. "I can't go to them without some kind of proof. She just didn't come home, and it's not like anyone's gonna care much." She didn't seem to have faith in the justice system. Considering she's a cat burglar didn't seem to hell that case. "That's why I came to you. I've seen your incredible skills and resourcefulness. You have connections that the police don't, and I believe you can find her."
Peter nodded, recognizing the weight of the responsibility placed upon him; this was certainly something much bigger than he had expected.
"One moment." Peter walked away from her so he could have a private conversation with Venom.
"So, Venom, it looks like Black Cat needs our help. I know we've had our differences, but she's in trouble, and I think we should set aside our grudges for now." Peter tells him, that even though Venom doesn't have a personal connection with Black Cat, he has Peter's memories of it.
Venom huffed. "Hmph, helping Black Cat? She's caused us plenty of headaches in the past. Why should we bother?"
"You're right, Venom," Peter said as he looked over to Felicia. "She isn't exactly on our side. But her aunt could be in danger, and we could be the only ones who can help her. Plus, it's the right thing to do. We're heroes, after all."
Venom seemed to groan and gag at the statement. "Fine, but this doesn't mean we're suddenly best buddies with her, Spider-Man. We'll help her, but she better not cross us again."
Peter nodded. "Agreed, Venom. We'll keep a close eye on her. Now, let's figure out how to approach this." He then started to walk back over to Felicia. "We need to find out who's taken her and why. We can start by tracking down some of the smaller criminals in the city. They might have some information."
"Like whom?" Felicia asks.
Peter considered it and had an idea of where to start. "Hey, V, did they ever capture Herman?"
Peter and Felicia found themselves in the living area of Herman Schultz's. Seems that he lived in some sort of junkyard. Turns out he had been let out early on parole for ratting out some other criminal activity when Peter threw him back into prison. How that happened in less than a day was beyond him.
"How do you know this guy?" Felicia wonders, feeling uncomfortable standing out in the open wearing her cat attire.
"I may or may not have threatened him," Peter confessed.
"Great." Felicia didn't see this ending well. "So, where is he?"
"No idea," Peter replied. But all of a sudden, his senses alerted him something was up, causing him to flinch and look around. "Look out!"
Peter unintentionally grabbed onto Felicia as Venom quickly used his tentacles to drag them both to a safe distance. Shoving Felicia to the side and throwing Peter in another direction. What came next was a giant shockwave that sent several trashed cars flying and flung them into the air. Both the cat burglar and the young hero were shocked and horrified by this and looked to where it came from. What they saw was Herman Schultz, also known as Shocker, dressed in some sort of full-body battle suit that was equipped with vibro-shock units designed to create high-pressure air blasts.
"I reckon that came to you as a bit of ...Shocker!" Herman proclaimed to them.
But when Peter saw the armored criminal, he couldn't help but openly start laughing. Felicia and Herman were confused by his actions, as neither of them was sure exactly what he was laughing at.
"What?" Herman asks in complete confusion. "What the hell are you laughing at?"
"Dude, what are you wearing?" Peter asks. "You...you look like a walking, metal traffic cone."
"Right. Antagonize the walking sonic cannon. Great idea." Venom proclaimed.
"You dare mock me, freak?" Herman asks, charging his gauntlets. "Let's see how you like this!"
Peter didn't move as he wasn't sure what was happening when the shockwave made its way towards them. It was like something painful had come through the portal and hit them both. Venom let out a scream of pain and agony. Peter watched as Venom seemed to be almost jumping off of his skin, causing him to become weaker in the process.
Peter dropped to his knees after the shockwave passed over them in pain. "What...what was that?"
"Sound waves...my weakness..." Venom explains.
"What?" Peter was lost at this knowledge. "You have weaknesses?"
"Not many." Venom defended. "But, yes, a few."
Shocker was charging up another blast from his gauntlets as Venom was quick to heal and grabbed a few pieces of scrap with his tentacles and shielded them with it. When Shocker fired his blasts, it was strong enough to push them around, but not enough to harm them.
"Sound or vibrations at 6,000 V is lethal to me," Venom explains his weaknesses. "And fire. I am basically living slime if you remember."
"Don't remind me that! You are living inside me!" Peter reminded the creature.
Their arguing seemed to weaken the connection they were forming, and the sound and vibrations of the gauntlets weren't doing much to help. They were then thrown into the wall, even crushing through their makeshift shield in the process. Weakening Venom to the point that Peter was now left in his old costume with Venom healing himself inside of the
"Where'd the Cat go?" Peter looked over to the rubble and saw she was gone.
"Looks like one more blast ought to be enough to be rid of you for good," Herman stated as he walked up and placed the gauntlet on his chest. "Bye-bye, little bug!"
But before he could pull the trigger, Felicia finally returned as she leaped upward and grabbed Herman by the head, raising it and by extension his gauntlets upward. When they fired, an avalanche of junk came spiraling downward and crashed right on top of Herman. Luckily Peter and Venom were inside of a small gap and were able to survive the avalanche.
"Okay..." Peter climbed around the rubble and walked over to the Cat. "Where'd you go?"
"Waiting for you to tire him out with some quips so I could jump in," Felicia explains what she was planning. "I thought it was obvious. How was I supposed to know you were gonna change costumes mid-battle?" Peter looked down at his outfit as Venom became strong enough to morph around him and cover his suit. Seemed Felicia really liked that as she wrapped her arms around him. "Ooh, so is it the suit that does all of the work for you or is it just an... extension?"
"It's a bit of both." Peter knew what she was doing but was stopping her from going further. "Come on, he might know something about your aunt."
Peter then walked over to where Herman was trying to crawl his way out of the rubble. But it only ended with Peter placing a foot on top of his gauntlets. Before Herman could get any bright ideas about firing them off, he crushed it under his foot.
"Now...we're going to have a nice little talk, Herman. And if you are nice, we might let you out of the rubble." Peter told him.
Felicia then took this as her time to walk up and rip off Herman's helmet. "Missing girls. Know anything about it?"
"What if I did?" Herman asks. "What's it to you?" Peter then pushed harder on his hand, causing Herman to cry in terror. "Alright! I might know something!" Peter released Herman's hand and allowed him to talk. "There have been talks around the city. The big blue boy scout goes missing, and all of the guys hiding are coming out."
"Like whom? Who would be interested in girls?" Peter wonders.
Herman only chuckled when he heard that. "Who isn't?"
Peter then kicked him in the face after hearing that part. "Just answer the question."
"I don't know anything about girls, but I might know someone who would be interested in test subjects," Herman confessed. "I used to do jobs for him. Lonnie Lincoln."
"Never heard of him," Peter stated.
"Really?" Felicia was surprised to hear. "I thought everyone knew about Tombstone."
"Tombstone?" Peter questions.
"Someone is overcompensating for something," Venom stated.
"A mob boss from Gotham," Felicia explains, knowing about the mob through her early years. "An accident in Gotham turned him into a monster that exposed his body to chemical Diox-3. Now he has superhuman durability, and strength, and his skin is as tough as stone. Hence the name..."
"Okay, but why your aunt specifically?" Peter wonders. "What made her so special?"
Felicia crossed her arms in worry. "My mother. She used to do business with the mob. She was a great asset to them."
"And your mother is...?" Peter wanted to see if she would slip up and give him that info.
Felicia however knew what he was doing and stopped him. "Don't get cocky, Spider. I don't give away personal information on the first date."
"Can't blame a spider for trying." Peter quipped.
"Ugh, if you start flirting, I will leave," Venom warned him.
Peter groaned at Venom killing the mood but knew he was right, and they needed to focus. "So, it is possible that they want to use your aunt as leverage to get to your mother."
"It makes sense." Felicia guessed that the mood was over, not knowing of Venom's interruption. "So where do we look?"
"Well, Gotham and Metropolis are only across the bay away from each other," Peter recalled as he looked towards the bay. "My guess is that this Lonnie fellow would be branching out and want to keep his business close."
"And his resources closer." Felicia was following it.
"Besides...most of this shady stuff always happens at the docks," Peter stated as if it were obvious. Then Herman grunted, finally getting their attention towards him. "Oh, almost forgot about you."
"What do we do with him?" Felicia wonders. "Take him to the cops?"
"We don't really have much in the way of criminal behavior," Peter admitted. "This is his place. And we did sort of trespass."
"So, then we call things even and walk away?" Felicia asks.
"How is that even?" Peter didn't see how that was even.
"He shot at us, we beat him, we leave him," Felicia explains even if it was in her favor.
Peter looked over to Herman and sighed. "Meet me at the docks. I'll free him and meet you there."
"Spoiled sport," Felicia said as she strolled off. "Don't keep a girl waiting, Spider."
Peter sighed as he tried to look away as she flirtatiously flung her hair back and strolled away. He then walked over towards Herman and used Venom to create several tentacles and lift the rubble off of Herman. Peter then used his free arm to drag him out of the trash and saw nothing was broken on him. Collapsing the rubble, Herman was alive and well.
"You sure this is a good idea?" Venom asks.
"What?" Peter wasn't sure he was following his partner. "Going to take down a crime boss and rescue her aunt, and maybe even a few others who have been kidnapped doesn't sound good to you?"
"I mean trusting her," Venom explains. "Black Cat isn't the kind of girl that you would bring home."
"It's nothing like that, V," Peter said as he shot a strand of webbing and swung towards the docks. "She needs help. And I know she's a criminal, but this is her family."
"Unless she is lying." Venom broke to him.
"Why would she lie? She has nothing to gain from that." Peter defends as he keeps swinging. "And if her family is really in danger, we should help. An innocent is in danger."
"I hope you know what you're doing," Venom replied.
Peter gracefully swung from one building to another until he reached the docks. He landed on the side of a towering crane, scanning the area for any potential threats. His eyes landed on a group of two burly men standing guard near a shipping container. They seemed to be alert and on high alert. As he watched, a boat slowly pulled up to the dock, and he could see several crates being loaded onto it. He had a feeling that this was where they needed to go. The sound of the waves gently lapping against the side of the dock was the only thing that broke the silence. Peter knew that he had to act quickly and cautiously if he wanted to retrieve whatever was in those crates.
"This has to be the place." Peter took a guess. "Hide them here, then ship them off to Gotham."
Felicia then appeared out of nowhere as she leaped and landed on his back. "This is the place. I can feel it."
"We need to split off. If this Tombstone fellow is as dangerous as you say, then I should deal with him." Peter came up with a plan. "You can take down a few armed men alone, can't you?"
Felicia smiled as she caressed her nails against his mask. "Glad to see you have faith in me."
Peter groaned and tried to shake her off without hurting her. "Just...go." Felicia then slid down and hung on his shoulder. "Just remember to be as quiet as a cat."
Felicia grinned as she dangled there. "Then remember to be as sneaky as a spider." Felicia flirts as she lets him go and falls towards the crates.
Peter rolled his eyes at her flirting and knew he would need to get used to it during his time working with her. Seeing a big dark figure in the facility nearby, he figured that must be where Tombstone was located.
Tombstone is a tall, heavy, African American man. While his pale skin tone suggests albinism, it is actually the result of exposure to chemicals in his youth, which bleached his skin and granted him his powers. He grabbed a metal jug that he had to use since he would break any other cup made out of different materials. He took a chug of its materials while Peter came down on a web behind him.
"The crazy drug lord drank alone." Peter quipped. "I feel like that's the beginning of a bad joke."
Tombstone chuckled as he tossed the cup across the room, making an indent in the wall. "Heard about you. Superman goes missing, and another costumed freak shows up in his place." He then picked up a sledgehammer that was near him. "You come to show me what kind of a man you are? I've gone toe to toe with Batman."
"Good for you," Peter said as he dropped down. "But I assure you...I'm not Batman."
Tombstone nodded and before Peter could even sense what was coming, Tombstone swung the sledgehammer and sent Peter flying into the wall. And it just so happened that the wall had a bell right on the other end of it, which meant something painful was going to occur. The bell smacked and rang through the air, causing Venom to submerge himself inside of Peter to heal himself. Tombstone only chuckled as he spun the sledgehammer again and came to swing again.
"V, I could really use some help!" Peter cried in terror.
But it seems that Venom wasn't answering, and Peter was on his own. He quickly worked and leaped off the ground and dodged the sledgehammer that embedded into the wall. Working fast, he used the sledgehammer to his own advantage and smashed it against Tombstone, and wouldn't you know it? The sledgehammer was more damaged than his head.
"Wow. They weren't lying." Peter had to admit that was quite a surprise.
The imposing figure of Tombstone charged towards Peter, his muscular frame hurtling towards him at breakneck speed. But this time, Peter was ready. With lightning-fast reflexes, he dodged the attack, leaping out of harm's way. He then fired a web at the imposing figure, which Tombstone attempted to use to his advantage by wrapping it around his hand. However, Peter was too quick for him, and he yanked the webbing, causing Tombstone to come hurtling towards him. With a swift punch to the face, Peter sent the hard-skinned villain flying, slamming into the unforgiving ground with a sickening thud. Tombstone then placed his foot on Peter's chest, eliciting a pained cry from the superhero.
But just as it seemed that Peter was about to be defeated, Venom emerged from within him, using his tentacles to fight back against Tombstone. The once-blinding pain caused by the bell seemed to have subsided, and Venom was now more powerful than ever. With Tombstone momentarily blinded, Peter took advantage of the situation, getting back on his feet and delivering a powerful kick to the villain's face. However, he knew that his strength alone wouldn't be enough to end this fight. It was then that he got an idea.
Peter's tentacles stretched out, snaking their way around the room. With a quick jerk, he yanked off large chunks of the brick wall. Lincoln tried to counter Peter's every move, but it only resulted in more harm to himself. Peter and Venom were working in unison, using their full force to smash large stones against Lincoln's head in an attempt to stop Tombstone. Despite Lincoln's efforts, Peter's plan was succeeding. He seized two giant chunks of brick and clapped them together, crushing Tombstone in the middle. As the smoke cleared, there was no visible sign of physical damage to Tombstone, but he was now lightheaded and dropped to the ground, leaning against the wall. Peter let out a sigh of relief, surprised that he was able to fight back effectively, even without Venom's help.
Tombstone laughed as he laid against the wall. "I have to say, kid. You're good."
"Yeah. I gotta say I even surprised myself there." Peter admitted he didn't believe he was going to survive there for a moment.
Tombstone groaned as he felt that his arm was broken. "That's new." He then heard the sirens and Peter figured that meant that Felicia called the cops, or someone heard the disturbance. "You've got a hell of a left hook there, kid." He then tried to relocate his shoulder. But failed. "I can't wait for us to get more acquainted in the future."
"If all works out, you'll be rotting away for a long time." Peter proclaimed and Venom extended a tentacle that yanked them outside.
"I like you." Tombstone complimented as the hero left.
Peter swiftly moved away from the scene and made his way towards the shipping containers. He knew that he had to find any clues that could lead him to the kidnapped victims. As he approached the containers, he could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins. He quickly scanned the area and started opening a few of them.
Inside a few containers, he found large quantities of Diox-3, a highly dangerous and illegal chemical compound. It became apparent to Peter that Tombstone was planning to use the kidnapped victims to replicate the accident that gave him his powers. He might even be trying to create an army of unbreakable soldiers.
Peter's heart raced as he opened another crate, hoping to find the kidnapped victims. However, he knew he didn't have much time before he was caught. Suddenly, he heard the sirens of police cars approaching. He realized that he had to leave the scene as quickly as possible and went with the last crate. After all, he wasn't entirely sure where the cops stood on him, especially after the destruction he had caused with the Symbiote. When he opened the last crate, he found the kidnapped victims and wondered if any of them were Cat's aunt.
Where was the Cat?
From her lofty perch atop a nearby tower, Felicia gazed down at the bustling scene below. Police officers were hard at work, diligently assisting the remaining victims of the disaster and escorting them safely to their homes. A sense of relief washed over her as she realized that she had successfully evacuated her aunt from the area well before the police had arrived. Suddenly, Peter descended on a web, seemingly appearing out of thin air. He was taken aback to see Felicia still there, keeping a watchful eye on the aftermath of the disaster.
"So, you did stick around. Where'd you disappear to?" Peter wonders.
"Had to get my aunt out of there before the cops showed up." Felicia said and seemed she was waiting for him to understand.
"Oh." Peter finally got it. "If I learned who your aunt was, I would have all I needed to find out who you are. Why didn't I think of that?"
Felicia smiled as she leaned over to the hero. "I don't say this often, but...thanks."
"No problem," Peter assured her. "But we do make a pretty good team. Maybe you should change sides."
Felicia only caressed his mask and lowered the mask a little. "Sorry, Spider. But I will give my gallant knight a reward for his deed."
Peter was taken aback when Felicia leaned over and pressed her lips against his. He had been lost in thought, trying to make sense of the confusing situation they found themselves in. But at that moment, all thoughts vanished as he felt her soft lips on his. He was uncertain of what it meant, but he didn't want it to end. Their kiss was brief, but it left Peter yearning for more. Unfortunately, Felicia pulled away abruptly and disappeared into the darkness, leaving Peter standing there alone, trying to make sense of what had just happened.
"Uh, Cat?" Peter was seriously lost. "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty?"
The Watchtower, a hub of bustling activity in the sky, was carrying out its daily operations when the unexpected happened. Suddenly, there came a loud crash as someone smashed through the windows, sending glass shards flying everywhere. The entire facility went into lockdown mode, and everyone was on high alert. It was a complete shock to all present when they realized that the intruder was none other than Superman himself. Hovering in the air, he began to attack the people around him, leaving everyone confused and bewildered. Their once-trusted ally was now acting erratically, and they had no idea why. Fearful and defensive, they prepared themselves for whatever was to come next.
"Yo, Supes. Where have you been?" Flash asks as he steps forward. "We've been looking for you."
"Something is wrong with him." Martian Manhunter noticed. "There is...someone else.'
As Superman turned around to face his opponent, a strange transformation began to take place. His veins were now covered in a shiny silver casing, almost like a suit of armor. The silver glow in his eyes was now more prominent, and they were beginning to glow red as if he were preparing to shoot lasers. Every muscle in his body tensed up, and he braced himself for the impending fight.
The other members of the Justice League, including Canary, Wonder Woman, and The Flash, were taken aback by this sudden turn of events. They quickly assembled, preparing themselves for an unexpected battle against their own friend and comrade.
Wonder Woman, ever the diplomat, stepped forward, her golden lasso in hand, attempting to reason with Superman. "Kal-El, what has come over you?" she asked, her voice filled with concern. But Superman merely sneered and unleashed a blast of heat vision toward her, narrowly missing as she deflected it with her shield.
The Flash, with his incredible speed, dashed around Superman in a desperate attempt to outmaneuver him. He hoped that his speed would give him an edge, distracting Superman long enough for the League to find a solution. However, Superman's newfound aggression matched his speed, and with a swift movement, he effortlessly caught The Flash mid-run. The force of the impact sent The Flash crashing into the Watchtower's walls, leaving him disoriented and in pain. The League watched in shock as their fastest member was taken down so easily by the Man of Steel.
As Superman struggled to contain the effects of the mysterious silver goo that had enveloped him, Canary rushed into the fray, unleashing her powerful canary cry in a desperate attempt to halt the Man of Steel's rampage. However, it was clear that Superman's anger was only increasing in response to the sonic attack, and yet, there was a strange weakening of the goo's influence over him.
Superman's face contorted in pain as he fought to regain control of his mind and body, determined to resist the goo's hold on him. With a sudden burst of energy, the Man of Steel lashed out at the writhing tentacles that had encased him, striking them with all his might.
Unfortunately, the release of the tentacles was not without consequences. As they flew out in all directions, one of them struck Canary with incredible force, sending her hurtling across the room and slamming into the wall. Dazed and disoriented, she struggled to regain her senses, desperately fighting to suppress the urge to scream as she clutched her mouth in pain.
As the two formidable superheroes, Martian Manhunter and the Man of Steel, faced off in a fierce battle, Martian Manhunter mustered all his strength and skill to take down his opponent. However, the Man of Steel proved to be a formidable adversary, effortlessly blocking and countering Martian Manhunter's every move.
Despite his best efforts, Martian Manhunter found himself outmatched by the sheer power and agility of the Man of Steel, who seemed to anticipate every attack and quickly neutralize it. As the battle wore on, Martian Manhunter grew increasingly exhausted and frustrated, realizing that his skills alone were not enough to overcome the Man of Steel's incredible might.
And that's when, all of a sudden, Superman was encased in the silver goo and it exploded off of him like a bomb. It engulfed everyone in the room and spread across the Entity Watchtower. The entire League was taken down...all but one.
As Bruce returned to his rented hotel room in Metropolis on Earth, he was still reeling from the shock of what he had witnessed. His Batsuit suddenly buzzed, and he quickly activated his gauntlets to see what was happening. As he watched the live feed, his eyes widened with disbelief. Superman had returned and he was not alone. The Man of Steel was locked in a fierce battle against the entire Justice League. From the looks of it, Superman had already taken down the Watchtower with a strange, gooey substance that seemed to be oozing out of his body.
Bruce's mind raced as he tried to make sense of what he was seeing. That's when it hit him, the goo looked exactly like the one on Spider-Man's new suit. It was a Symbiote invasion!
The gravity of the situation hit Bruce hard, and he knew they were in big trouble. The Symbiotes were shown to be notoriously difficult to defeat as he saw what Spider-Man could do with it. And if they were already in control of Superman, it could only mean one thing - the fate of the entire planet was at stake.
