Ch.30

Thanks to his training Ron was becoming increasingly aware of his surroundings, even as he fought, thus he noticed the exact moment Shego stepped onto the backyard. Briefly distracted with how lovely she looked and feeling a bit of pride that it was his jersey she was wearing, Ron lost the equilibrium he had maintained in the spar with Yori. Minutes later despite his efforts, Yori forced him to admit defeat. She wasn't an opponent where a distraction was forgiven or missed.

"That was great Ron-san." Yori compliments as she begins to explain. "Although you left yourself open briefly which led you into my pace. It took alot longer to actually defeat you which shows how far you've have improved."

Blushing briefly at the cause of his distraction, Ron reflects on various points that Yori makes and at times suggests ways he could have handled the situation better, hindsight giving him a wider perspective. After their review ended Shego approached with a smile on her face and the faintest hint of a blush. Noticing this Ron gulps as he greets her. "Hey Shego."

"You're doing better and better by the day Ron, it's almost like I'm looking at a different person." Shego honestly compliments.

"You're right Shego-san. This is just the beginning of what Ron-san is truly capable off." Yori supplements knowing that Ron's potential is barely starting to surface.

"Thanks, I really appreciate it." Ron accepts their compliments and looking at Yori glistening slightly with sweat speaks again. "Yori why don't you head in for a shower, I'll do some meditation and then I'll grab one myself."

Yori smiles faintly as she agrees and turns towards the house. Ron noticed the sways to her hips as he admired her, blushing. What could he say, Yori was beautiful and he couldn't stop himself from admiring, still it wasn't polite to stare so he turned his gaze away, straight into Shego's emerald green eyes as she bent by his side looking at his face. To Ron's surprise, he didn't look away and continued to meet her stare. A minute later, Shego broke the moment looking away and blushing, which Ron found absolutely enchanting. Smiling Ron began to meditate.

After meditation Ron stopped by his room briefly to grab a change of clothes and took a shower before heading down to the living room where Shego and Yori were watching a movie. Seeing there was space on the sofa, Ron stopped by the kitchen long enough to grab some popcorn and then sat between the two so he could easily share. After the movie there was light conversation before they decided it was time to go to sleep and the ladies headed upstairs.

Ron guessed it was sometime past two a.m. and he still had trouble falling asleep so he decided to head to the kitchen for a glass of water. Just as he finshed the cup he felt a presence from the stairs and after concentrating he could tell it was Shego so he silently approached. Seeing Shego still in her pj's, in other words his jersey and underwear Ron started to relax till he noticed the suitcase.

"I thought you agreed to trust me." Ron whispers trying to keep the hurt from his tone but failing.

Shego looked precisely where he was at the sound of his voice and hesitated briefly before she answered. "I do but I can't calm myself thinking that there is a possibility I've been found out." Sighing Shego continues. "It's been hours and I haven't been able to sleep."

When Ron heard her admit that she had been unable to sleep with worry he felt slightly guilty and thought for a bit. Deciding on something he ventures. "How about I stay up on lookout incase anything happens."

His words surprising them both he saw Shego open her eyes wide before she shook her head. "Even if you noticed them from downstairs it'll waste precious time as you go up to let me know. I don't want to risk it."

Seeing her refuse, Ron firmly made a decision and approached her before speaking again. "Then I'll stay in the room with you."

Shego was once again surprised but before she could say anything Ron continued. "I promise I won't let anything happen to you."

Ron had walked Shego to his room and she was still shocked that he suggested to share the room let alone that she agreed. 'What I'm I thinking.' Wondered Shego as she settled herself in bed and watched Ron stand by the window. His eyes surveying the surroundings with experience and confidence.

Shego stayed watching him nearly twenty minutes before she heard Ron speak. "You're not going to fall asleep this way.",

With a smile Shego answered. "I honestly don't think I can."

Shego would never have attributed Ron as confident enough to offer what he did next and as naturally as he said it but she decided to take him up on the offer.

"Want me to hug you to sleep?" Ron offered calmly.

"Sure." Shego was sure he was teasing as she accepted his offer looking to tease him when he hesitated.

To her surprise, Ron simply moved from the window to the bed and with no hesitation laid down on his side beside her on the little space that was open on the bed. By the time Ron had her in a comfortable hug Shego was absolutely stunned, wondering how much different Ron was from the image he made everyone believe was him. Still she had to ask. "What made you want to climb in bed with me?"

"Ah this?" Ron asked and after seeing Shego nod explains. "I used to this for KP when she problems sleeping on our way back from a mission. Now if you lay on your side and let me rub your back I'll have you asleep in ten minutes." Shego briefly debated before she accepted Ron's request and lay on her side, feeling Ron's hand adjust on her waist and the other move to her back. She one hundred percent doubted that she would fall asleep but Shego decided not to ruin the mood and just enjoy being close to Ron.

Ron was hyper aware of Shego since she asked him why he climbed into bed with her. Her scent, the feel of her skin and how much he wanted to bring her closer as he hugged her but as he promised, less than ten minutes and she had fallen asleep. Lightly removing himself from the bed, while making sure not to wake her Ron resumed his post by the window.

Once in a while Ron couldn't help and look at Shego as she lay on his bed in nothing but his jersey and underwear, with just bed sheets hiding her from view. The image of tranquility she posed in his bed, making something shift inside him that Ron didn't quite understand but reminded him of Yori.

Ron spent the rest of the night alternating between lookout and watching Shego. When the sun rose and later when he heard Yori in the hall, Ron knew it was time to wake Shego and moved to the side of the bed. "Hey Shego, its morning time to wake up."

The response was immediate and a little funny. Shego eyes opened and momentarily became wider as she blushed, probably realizing that she fell asleep in his arms. "Thanks Ron." She whispered.

"No problem." Ron admitted. "I'll go and make breakfast."

After Yori finished her shower she went downstairs to wake Ron up but noticed that he was in the kitchen with breakfast on the way.

"Good morning Ron-san." She greeted before asking if he needed assistance. "Anything I can help with?"

"Morning Yori." Ron speaks briefly turning to smile at her. "Can you set the table for three and see if we have enough OJ for breakfast? I should have breakfast done in ten."

"No problem." Yori answers and begins to set the table. Nothing complicated, just the plate placement, spoon, fork and butter knife options with the glass for juice. "So I was thinking tomorrow I will begin having Akito and the others help with your training. I will also be adding missions to help judge your progress at various subjects and techniques."

Yori completely missed Ron freezing at the mention of the plans for his training as she continued to speak. "Although you will be completley busy for a while, this will be the fastest way to teach you skills Yamanouchi provides."

"Thank you, Yori." Ron says after a while in his own thoughts.

"You're welcome." Yori says after checking on the OJ and seeing Shego make her way downstairs. "Good morning Shego-san."

By 9:30am Ron was at Felix's ready for tutoring and thinking of the few ideas for a side project he wanted Felix's help on, still that topic had to wait till the tutoring was done. Then he proceeded to spend the next three and a half hours amazing Felix with learning capabilities.

"Ron if I didn't know you for so long I would say you knew this already." Felix commented as he finished going over the days studies with Ron.

"I would agree with you there Felix." As he explained further. "I mean the only real time I tried this things out I made a homemade laser out of vacuum cleaners and spare parts. That and last weekend's devices while I went nuts."

"Well, at this pace your going to be up to date in two to three months." Felix admitted after taking in the subjects he had to go over with Ron.

"That's great to hear!" Ron gladly accepted his friends estimates. "Listen Felix can I ask your help on something?"

"Sure, what do you have in mind Ron?" Felix asks wondering what Ron's thinking.

"I want to try building a couple things." Ron began to explain and went on for half an hour explaining the various projects he had in mind.

Just as Felix was about to answer, both teens heard Mrs. Renton speak. "That's an interesting project, mind if I help?"

"Mom I thought you had a shift today." Felix says expressing the surprise of both teens.

"Just got back five minutes ago and heard some of the ideas Ron was talking about." Mrs. Renton admitted. "Now, can I help too or is it going to be guy thing?"

"I'll be glad with your help Mrs. Renton." Ron accepts and asks. "Want me to go over my ideas so we can choose which one to start with?"
