The weeks had flown over and May was nearly over, considering what Lia had discovered at the beginning of the month everything was going as good as it could be. She ignored Peter as much as she could while Carla grew more and more in love with him. Rob and Tracy had recently got engaged and were throwing an engagement party at the Rovers so Michelle was busy trying to please Tracy in the best way possible. Lia mainly tried to stay out the flat as much as possible so that mainly consisted of school and then wandering town with her friends until her mum rang her to have a go at her. The day of the engagement party arrived and once Lia came home from school all hands were on deck.
"Do we really have to go?" Lia moaned collapsing on the sofa in front of Carla.
"Yes, this is your only uncle's engagement party, we can't not go," Carla answered unwrapping another chocolate and eating it.
"But he's getting engaged to Tracy, so that means Tracy is gonna be there," Lia groaned.
"Don't be a detective when your older babe if that is your best you can come up with," Carla laughed unwrapping another chocolate.
"Shut up," Lia rolled her eyes, "Are you gonna sit there and eat them and not even offer me one?"
Carla laughed before throwing one across the sofa and watched it land on her head as Peter walked in.
"How do I look then?" Peter asked coming out of the bedroom.
"Meh," Lia answered looking at her phone.
"Ignore her," Carla tutted tapping Lia's head and walking over to Peter and stroking his hair, "You look stunning baby."
"I'm gonna go help Chelle," Lia said grabbing her phone and bag of clothes.
"Okay sweetie see you later," Carla smiled blowing her kiss as she walked out the door.
A few hours had passed and the party had begun. Liz and Lia had been blowing up and setting up the balloons while Chelle tried to not kill Tracy and her ever growing demands. Once people had started arriving Michelle had returned from getting dressed and Lia went to start getting dressed herself, a while later she returned down the stairs wearing a black dress and some white healed boots, her hair is perfect curls and her lipgloss shimmering in the light.
"Oh darling you look gorgeous," Chelle greeted her as she emerged from the bar.
"Thank you," Lia smiled hugging her aunt.
"Your mum and Peter should be here soon," Michelle informed her picking up her prosecco.
"Late as usual, shock," Lia commented as Michelle chuckled slightly, "Can I have a glass."
"Get lost, you'll loose me my license," Michelle scoffed as Lia rolled her eyes.
"Come on one glass," Lia whined.
"If your lucky I'll leave on for you in the back later," Michelle mused.
"Oo lucky me," Lia celebrated sarcastically as Michelle rolled her eyes and nudged her, "I'm gonna go see Rob and the wicked witch."
"Play nice," Michelle reminded as her niece walked off.
"As always," Lia faked a smile before walking over to her uncle.
"Uncle Rob," Lia started walking next to him.
"Alright kiddo, you look nice," Rob smiled.
"Nice, that's the best you can come up with?" Lia exclaimed placing her hand to her chest in an sarcastic offended manner.
"You're definitely your mum's daughter," Rob mused as Lia nodded proudly smiling smugly.
The girl turned to Tracy's direction as she was stood opposite them, "Congrats Tracy," she smiled slightly before turning to her phone.
"I think its Rob that needs to be congratulated for getting me," Tracy returned confidently causing Lia laughed slightly.
"Yeah definitely," She nodded smirking before commenting and walking away, "Good look Rob."
A small while later Carla and Peter walked through the door and greeted both Rob and Tracy, Peter found a seat while Carla walked over to her daughter and friend at the bar.
"Hiya babe, you look stunning," Michelle commented.
"Awe thanks, I feel terrible," Carla returned.
"Get lost mum you look great," Lia smiled.
"Awe darling," Carla gushed before taking in her daughter appearance, "You look beautiful baby."
Lia smiled at her mum's compliment as Michelle left to go and get 2 orange juices for Carla and Peter.
"Thanks Chelle," Carla smiled before turning to Lia, "We're sat over there if you wanna come join us."
"Nah your alright I'll stay with Chelle, help taste any prosecco that may have gone off," Lia smiled innocently looking between her mum and aunt.
"I've told you, I'm not risking my license for you," Michelle laughed slightly shaking her head as Carla scoffed and walked off with her and Peter's drinks.
Lia had stayed by the bar for most of the night talking to the girl's from the factory and Chelle until they're conversation was interrupted by shouting at the top end of the pub.
"She's been like dig, dig, dig the entire night," Tracy complained to Peter loudly attracting people's attention one by one, Lia and Michelle gave each other a look as she continued, "You know I wish the bitch had stayed at home, caught up on her beauty sle-"
"Hey, that's enough," Peter warned his sister as Carla turned around.
"Why don't you give your gob a rest princess," Carla snapped
"Oo pre-loaded are you. Been on the cocktails at sunset," Tracy sniped back, "She is rubbing your nose in it Peter, she's a lush."
"I am stone cold sober!" Carla defended scoffing as she looked at Rob for some sort of support.
"Have a drink then!" Tracy demanded as Peter pushed the glass that Tracy had away from Carla.
"Oh can someone tell this stupid cow I'm not having a drink because I'm pregnant!" Carla raged putting her head in her hands.
"You what?" Tracy scoffed as the pub fell silent.
"I'm gonna be an uncle," Rob announced as everyone began to chatter again.
"Me and Carla are having a baby," Peter announced as Carla smiled slightly going to stand next to him and he wrapped his arm around her again.
The pub erupted into celebrations for the two as Michelle and Lia smiled to each other and joined in clapping as the pub cheered the doors slammed shut attracting Lia's attention. She slipped away from the bar and began to walk out to see who was there, across the street she could see Tina walking away.
"Oi!" Lia shouted attracting Tina's attention as she turned around and walked closer slightly.
"Ignore me," Tina told her.
"I've tried that but somehow your always around," Lia commented, "Why are you here?"
"I'd come to find Peter but clearly he'd changed his mind," Tina replied moving her bag from hand to hand.
"Changed his mind?" Lia questioned.
Tina sighed before replying, "I was gonna try and help him by not telling you but clearly he doesn't care about me as much as I did to him. We were running away, to Portsmouth, together."
"You what?!" Lia scoffed, "I really thought he would stop. How stupid of me."
"Hey what's up?" Michelle asked coming out the pub.
"I thought you should know," Tina added.
"Awe thanks Tina how honourable of you," Lia spat.
"What's going on?" Michelle questioned.
"Doesn't matter Chelle," Lia huffed pushing past her back into the pub.
By the time Lia was back in the pub everyone had calmed down, Carla was mingling with a few of the factory girls and Peter had left for a walk. Lia tried to avoid Michelle as best as possible and began to join in with her mum's conversation. Deirdre had informed them that Rob and Tracy had gone to have some time alone so to keep the drinks flowing until they returned. It was a bit later by the time Peter came back, his face had a small scratch on it attracting Carla's attention.
"What's happened to your face?" Carla asked going up to Peter and stroking the bleeding scratch on his face.
"Nothing can we go now," Peter dismissed moving her hand away.
"Well clearly somethings happened or you face wouldn't be scratched would it?" Carla questioned.
Steve seen the conversation and walked over in order to help his friend, "Do yous wanna go talk in the back?"
"Yeah thanks Steve," Peter nodded taking Carla's hand and walking through to the back.
"So what's happened?" Carla questioned as Peter closed the door.
"I think you should sit down love," Peter started.
"I don't want to sit down," Carla replied.
"Love I really think-"
"Peter I don't want to sit down. What is all this about?" Carla asked losing her patience.
"This isn't very nice but I need to tell you so we can move forward," Peter began.
"Just get on with it," Carla answered crossing her arms.
"I've been having an affair," Peter stated waiting for his wife to process it.
"What?" Carla scoffed in disbelief.
"I've been having-"
"Yes I heard that Peter thank you, I mean who with," Carla snapped.
"You don't need to know," Peter eased.
"Don't tell me what I do and do not need to know," Carla answered.
"Alright okay but promise me you won't go round there and-"
"Who is it Peter!" Carla shouted.
"Tina," Peter blurred out causing Carla to audibly gasp.
Back out at the bar Lia had noticed after talking to Ken that her mum had disappeared and began to start asking around. Steve heard the girl asking while talking to Michelle and wandered over.
"Lia your mum and Peter are in the back," Steve informed her.
"Ah right thanks," Lia smiled going to walk through as Steve put his hand out to stop her.
"There talking about something at the minute though," Steve stopped her.
"Alright," Lia smiled, "I just need to quickly ask mum something I won't be a minute."
"I think it's best to just leave them be," Steve continued.
"Steve?" Michelle asked overhearing the conversation.
"Steve what's wrong?" Lia asked.
"Nothing nothing," Steve shook his head, "I just think it's best to wait out here."
Lia gasped realising what had happened, "You know!"
"Know? Know what?" Steve lied.
"Oh my god you do! He's telling her isn't he!" Lia exclaimed pushing past him.
"No Lia don't!" Steve chased after her.
"Know what!" Michelle chased, "What are yous on about!"
"Lia tell me!" Michelle exclaimed pulling on her shoulder and stopping her.
Before Lia could begin to speak they heard a shout from the back room.
"Then why did you have an affair Peter, eh, why did you have an affair!" Carla cried from the back room causing Michelle to drop her hands from Lia's shoulders and stare in our shock.
"An affair!" Michelle exclaimed
"Chelle-"
