To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.

I've already had my background chapter ready for Seasons 2-5. To the one who has thought that Paige should have Arkana's Dark Magician, I want you to know that you are very lucky that I have that card in my actual deck. I want everyone to know that when I write season 5 (I really do mean when I write it), how I see Atem when he enters the world of his memories, there will be a couple of major surprises. I can't tell you what those surprises will be because they are still in development and I'm bouncing around some ideas with a couple of my friends so that I can make it the best part of season 5.

If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!

I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!

Shoutouts:

"With Kaiba still reeling from his loss to Yugi, it's the perfect time to seize control and bring this company's reputation back to what it once was." A man said to Pegasus.

"Patience, gentlemen." said Pegasus, holding a glass of wine. "Once I defeat little Yugi, Kaiba's company will be ours."

"Of course, had you disposed of Kaiba as originally promised, we would have already assumed power." he replied. "But don't worry, we'll finished what you started."

"No." said Pegasus. "No one is to lay even a finger upon Seto Kaiba."

"But if he's able to rescue his younger brother, we'll lose our only tie to the Kaiba name."

"Mokuba's future role as figurehead will not be jeopardized by his older brother's presence." said Pegasus. "Trust me, gentlemen. I have my own plans for Seto Kaiba and the technical knowledge he possesses."

"Uhh, don't fail us."

"Gentlemen, Kaiba Corp is about to enter a new era of prosperity, and you are all about to become obscenely rich." said Pegasus, raising his glass to the big five. "Hmm. Heh heh heh. As for you, Kaiba, our partnership is just beginning."

In a helicopter, Kaiba was heading towards Duelist Kingdom. "I can't believe all my business associates would turn on me after a single defeat." thought Kaiba. "Then again, losing to Yugi has shaken my self-confidence, too."

[Flashback]

"You're a good duelist, Kaiba…" said Yugi, holding up Exodia's face. "But not good enough to stop Exodia."

Exodia stands before the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. "Exodia, Obliterate!" shouted Yugi.

"Aah!" screamed Kaiba.

"You play only for power, Kaiba, and that is why you lost." said Yugi. "But if you put your heart in the game, there's nothing you can't do."

[Flashback ends]

"Maybe Yugi was right." though Kaiba. "But I can't stop second guessing myself now. Not when Pegasus has kidnapped my little brother, Mokuba. No. If I'm gonna face off against Pegasus, I have to rely on my old dueling instincts. That's the only chance I have of freeing Mokuba."

"Big Brother!" Mokuba called out.

"And once Mokuba is out of harm's way, I'll unleash my wrath on the vultures who conspired to take over my company." Kaiba thought. "If Pegasus thought I would just sit idly by as they dismantled my life's work, he was wrong. I'll see to it that they all regret ever crossing Seto Kaiba."

Back on the island, a tent was set up with Tristan and Joey sleeping outside. Inside the tent, Tea and Paige were in sleeping bags, fast asleep. "Bakura, am I seeing things, or is your Millenium Ring actually glowing?" Yugi asked.

"If it's not, then we're both hallucinating." said Bakura.

"That's kinda spooky, don't you think?" he then asked. "The way its pointing like that?"

"Yes. It's almost like it's being tugged towards the castle." Bakura tells him.

"Pegasus's castle?" questioned Yugi, staring at the ring. "Why would it do that?"

"I don't know, but it did the same thing the day I met you." said Bakura. "I had just been transferred to your school."

[Flashback]

"Everyone, please welcome your new classmate, Bakura." said the teacher.

"Wham!" said Joey, throwing down one of his monster cards. "Try defendin' this, Yuge!"

Bakura was watching Yugi and the others duel when he looks down at the ring, which pointed straight at Yugi.

"I was watching you guys play duel monsters, when suddenly my ring started to glow and pointed right towards your Millennium Puzzle." said Bakura.

[Flashback ends]

"Wow, Bakura." said Yugi. "Those pointers are somehow able to zone in on other Millennium items."

"But then why would it point to the castle?" asked Bakura.

"'Cause of what's inside the castle." said Yugi. "Pegasus' Millennium eye. That's what took my grandpa's soul."

"My, it's all kind of scary, eh, Yugi?" asked Bakura. "Pegasus grabbing souls with his, and I'll never forget when mine took us all to the shadow realm."

"Mmm." said Yugi, nodding in agreement. Looking up at the night sky, Yugi stares at the full moon. "Why is it the more involved I get with Pegasus and this whole tournament, the more it all seems to be connected to these Millennium items? First there was Pegasus' Millennium eye, and now Bakura's Millennium ring, and, of course, my Millennium item. Ever since Paige and I first solved that ancient puzzle, playing duel monsters has never been the same. Now, every time I duel, I can feel a strong, courageous presence within me. I know that Paige sees it too. And whatever that spirit is, I pray it will help the two of us save our grandpa. We both miss him. I miss him so much."

Suddenly, Yugi hears a noise from over the cliff. "Huh?" he said, sitting up. At the castle, Pegasus stood out on the terrace with a glass of red wine in hand as he looks out at the island.

"Kaiba's coming." thought Pegasus. "I can sense it."

"Wow." said Bakura as Kaiba's helicopter appeared in front of him and Yugi. "Look at that, Yugi."

"What the…?" asked Tristan as he, Joey, Tea and Paige were waken up the light of the helicopter.

"Huh? What?" asked Joey, shielding his eyes. "Hey! Some of us are tryin' to get some shut eye here, you insensitive jerk!"

"What is that?" asked Tea. Yugi and Bakura gasped as they watched Kaiba's copter land. As the others gathered behind them, they finally see Kaiba step out.

"It's Kaiba." said Tea.

"What's he doin' here?" asked Joey.

"I don't know, but it looks like he means business." said Tristan.

"Whatever business he has better not mess with my sleep schedule." said Paige as Yugi runs up to him. "I have hard time going to sleep as it is."

"I haven't seen you since our duel, Yugi." said Kaiba.

"Mm-hmm. Oh!" said Yugi, getting Kaiba's deck out. "Here, your deck. I've been keeping it for you. Just think of it as a thank you for that duel you helped me win."

"Thanks." said Kaiba, taking back his deck. "You'll be compensated for all of your trouble."

"Huh?" asked Yugi, confused. "Actually, Kaiba, I was thinking that since we're all headed for Pegasus' castle, you could stick with us. 'Course, heh…you'll need some star chips."

"Don't be so naïve." said Kaiba. "This isn't just a game for me, Yugi."

"Huh?"

"I'm going after Pegasus to save my brother, not so I can win some silly prize." Kaiba tells him. "Have fun with your tournament."

"But, Kaiba…" said Yugi.

"That snobby little…." Joey started to say, then growled as he went after him.

"Huh?" said Tea.

"Joey, get back here!" shouted Paige.

"Hey, listen, tough guy!" said Joey catching up to him and grabbing Kaiba by the collar. "I can understand you wantin' to get your little brother back and all, but don't go thinkin' that you're the only one here with a noble cause, capisce? We all got something worth fightin' for, so if you want a piece of Pegasus, get in line or deal with me."

"If you ask me, I would love to hear the words, 'I'll get in line', come out of his mouth." said Paige.

"You and me both." said Tristan.

"That'll be the day when the world stops spinning." said Tea.

"That's right, hot shot." said Joey, not hearing what the others were saying. "I aint scared of you."

"Nice grip." said Kaiba, taking Joey's hands off of him. "Let me show you mine." Soon enough, Kaiba threw Joey behind him, causing the blond to fall to the ground.

"That was uncalled for." said Bakura.

"Yeah! How about I do that to you?" shouted Paige.

"You wouldn't last a second trying to do that to me." said Kaiba.

"Joey!" shouted Yugi as he ran up to him as he groaned on the ground. "Joey! Can you hear me? Are you alright?"

"Check his pulse, Yugi." suggested Bakura.

"Relax. I'm fine." said Joey, getting up from the ground.

"Do you really think I'm gonna let you and this little tournament you're in delay me from Pegasus?" Kaiba asked.

"Forget Pegasus!" shouted Joey. "Now you got me to deal with, so bust out your cards and let's get it on!"

"I can't tell if Joey's being really brave or nuts." said Tea.

"I say that he's nuts." said Paige.

"Forget it." said Kaiba. "Why don't you go look for an opponent you can actually beat, like an infant or a monkey."

"Huh?" said Joey. "What did you say?"

"Called it." said Paige.

"That monkey thing gets him every time." said Tristan.

"Hmph. I don't have time for your nonsense….loser." said Kaiba, walking away from the group.

"Go ahead and run." Joey called after him. "Everyone knows you're nothin' but a washed up has been."

"Joey, be careful what you say." warned Yugi. "Kaiba may be a creep, but he's still pretty much considered the top duelist in the world."

"And you don't know what will happen by setting Kaiba off." added Paige.

"Not anymore." said Joey. Kaiba turns around and glares at Joey. "That's right, tough guy. I bet ever since Yugi mopped the floor with you, you can't even lay a trap card without flinchin'!"

"Ok, Joey. Let it go." said Tristan.

"You're making it worse." said Paige.

"This is really the wrong guy to pick a fight with." said Tea.

"What do you say, money bags?" Joey asked, ignoring the others. "Care to prove me wrong?"

"On one condition…" said Kaiba.

"Huh?" said the group.

"We play using my newest innovation in holographic duel technologies." said Kaiba.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Yugi.

"It means that if Joey's really that eager to duel me, he's gonna have to do it using my latest holographic system." Kaiba tells him, then shows off the briefcase. "It's a new hi-tech dueling device that allows players the realism of arena matches in any setting."

"Looks like just a regular old briefcase to me." said Joey.

"It's in the briefcase, you moron." said Kaiba as he gets the tech out. Inside the briefcase was a selection of duel monster cards and his latest gaming technology. Kaiba throws one disk to Joey, who catches it. "Its technology is unprecedented." said Kaiba.

"Looks like a flyin' saucer." said Joey.

"Don't be an idiot." said Kaiba. "This is the most state-of-the-art display modulator ever built. So if you think you have what it takes to handle it, just strap it on."

Joey places it on his wrist. "Ok. Now what happens?" he asked.

"First, insert your dueling deck into the display drive recognizer." Kaiba instructed. "A life point count will light up and keep score for you the entire match. Then choose a card to play and set it on the digital card reader. I think the rest will explain itself."

"Huh, cool." said Joey, placing one of his cards on the display drive.

"Paige, what are you thinking?" Yugi asked, seeing the look on his sister's face.

"I like the idea that Kaiba has, but I just don't like the design." said Paige.

"What do you mean?" asked Tea.

"The design Kaiba has right now is possibly a protype for something down the line." Paige explained, before looking up at her brother. "I could be wrong though."

"All set?" asked Kaiba, seeing as though he didn't hear the conversation behind Joey. "Then lets duel."

"You got it." said Joey

"Now, brace yourself…" said Kaiba as he throws out the drive. "for my Battle Ox."

"Whoa!" said Tristan as the display drive spins on the ground. "Check out all those lights! It's like raining glitter."

"Yeah, it's like something from an enchanted dream." said Tea as Battle Ox appeared on the field. "Ew! Or a nightmare!"

"Whoa!" exclaimed Joey, shocked at the scene.

"No way!" exclaimed Yugi. "That's a hologram?"

"A hologram of unprecedented realism." said Kaiba. "It breathes, it snarls. My new dueling disk technology even stimulates its odor."

"That's answers my question." said Paige.

"You're tellin' me." said Joey. "That thing really stinks. Good thing he won't be around for much longer." Joey places his card on the dueling disk. "All righty….here nothin'." He then throws the disk out. "Go, Armored Lizard!"

Joey's Armored Lizard roars as it appears on the field. "Go, Battle Ox!" said Kaiba. "Axe Slam Attack!"

Battle Ox growled as it takes out its axe. Armored Lizard attacks as Battle Ox swings down. "Yes!" shouted Joey. "He withstood your attack!"

"Oh, did he?" asked Kaiba. "Look again." Out on the field, Battle Ox slices through Armored Lizard's neck, sending the monster to the graveyard.

"Ok…" said Joey as the display disk stops spinning and spits out his card. His life points then dropped to 1,800. "That's real enough for me. I can't believe it. That ugly overgrown ox! he cut my lizard in half."

"This new technology isn't for the faint of heart, Joey." said Kaiba as his life points were untouched. "It's intended to force duelists to think on their feet. If it's too much for you, maybe you should give up now."

"Fat chance!" said Joey, pulling back the disk. "Don't you worry, Kaiba. I'm a quick learner. Watch. Set the card, spin the disk, and….bingo! The Flame Swordsman. Ready to slaughter that sirloin of yours. Attack! Flaming Sword of Battle!"

"But, Joey, the Battle Ox is resistant to all fire-type creatures." said Yugi.

"Too late." said Paige as Flame Swordman's sword broke on Battle Ox.

"Now he tells me." said Joey.

"Why am I not surprised that you'd made such an amateur mistake?" asked Kaiba. "Maybe from now on, you ought to let Yugi pick all of your moves for you. Or better yet, why don't I teach you some of the advance moves of the game the hard way?" He then places another card on the display disk. "Mystic Horseman and Battle Ox…merge into Rabid Horseman!"

Soon as the disk had landed out on the field, both duel monsters merged into Rabid Horseman. "You think I'm afraid of that deformed pony?" taunted Joey. "I'll show you something that you should be afraid of. Swamp Battleguard, Attack!"

Once again, Rabid Horseman defeats Swamp Battleguard, dropping Joey's life points to 1,400. "Ax Raider, avenge my Battleguard!" shouted Joey. Rabid Horseman destroys Ax Raider, dropping Joey's life points to 1,100 and as he continued, his life points dropped.

"Go, Battle Steer."

"Uh, Garoozis?"

"Ok. Uh, let's see here, uh, Smashing Rock…" said Joey.

"I feel bad for him." said Paige.

"You and me both." said Yugi.

"Aw." said Joey as his monster was destroyed on the field. "Uh, Rude Kaiser!"

Soon enough, Rude Kaiser was destroyed and his life points dropped to 500. "Ha ha ha!" laughed Kaiba as Joey dropped to his knees. "That's right, Joey, fall to the dirt like a whimpering dog."

"Man, it took Exodia for even Yugi to beat this guy." Joey thought. "I need to come up with a kick-butt card or…"

"Come on, Joey!" shouted Tea.

"Huh?" he said.

"You're the best at finding ways to come back from behind." she tells him.

"She's right, Joey." said Bakura.

"Find a way to kick Kaiba's butt." said Paige.

"Now get up." said Tristan. "No way Kaiba gets away with calling you a canine!"

"You're right, Tristan." said Joey, getting back on his feet. "No one calls me a whimperin' dog. And once he sees what I got in store for him, he's gonna be the one in the dirt. Check this out! Red Eyes Black Dragon!"

Red Eyes Black Dragon came out to the field, roaring and ready to attack. "Joey's best card!" exclaimed Tea.

"Kaiba's in big trouble now!" said Tristan.

"Inferno Fire Blast!" shouted Joey as red fire was aimed at Rabid Horseman, finally becoming destroyed on the field. "Take that!"

"It's just like a novice to rejoice when there's no reason to celebrate." said Kaiba as his life points dropped to 1,600. "True, the round may be yours, but the duel is about to be mine."

"Say what?" asked Joey.

"Your Red Eyes is a powerful Dragon, but his ferocity pales in comparison to my beast…" Kaiba tells him, causing Yugi and Paige to gasp. "The legendary Blue Eyes White Dragon!"

Joey gasps as it was played on the field. "Blue Eyes White Dragon, White Lightning Attack, now!" screamed Kaiba. Blue Eyes White Dragon followed his order, using his attack on the Red Eyes Black Dragon, destroying it on the field.

"Aah! No!" shouted Joey as his life points dropped to zero. "I lost."

"That's right, Joey. Stay down." said Kaiba. "Stay down like the sniveling, defeated dog I've turned you into."

"Are you alright, Joey?" asked Yugi as he and the others ran up to him.

"Joey, speak to us dude." said Paige.

"It's ok, kiddo." said Tea.

"I'd say my duel disk system has proven quite effective." Kaiba said, smirking. "Not only did its stunning realism jar Joey into complete and utter submission, but just look at him. He's moping like a frightened dog with his tail between his legs. Which is exactly how I intend to leave Pegasus."

"But this is Joey." said Yugi.

"Yeah, you jerk!" said Tea. "Did you have to take his confidence away with his dragon?"

"You can't make people be submissive to you like this." said Paige.

"Joey was starting to believe in himself as a duelist." Tea added.

"That's right." said Yugi. "Beating him doesn't give you the right to humiliate him."

"Quiet, Yugi." said Joey. "Don't give that creep the satisfaction."

"Ha. Look, kid, do you honestly believe that if you were dueling Pegasus he would've been more merciful with you than I was?" Kaiba asked. "I understand that the heart of the cards is a powerful philosophy and that it all works well for you, but I need to duel my own way now. I can't risk trying something new. And maybe Joey shouldn't either. Unless he likes life as a dog."

"How would you know?" asked Paige.

"Huh?" said Kaiba.

"You heard me, Kaiba." she said. "How would you know if you truly haven't tried it at all? If you actually try dueling with the heart of the cards, it could work well for you."

"Paige…." Yugi warned his sister.

"I don't need to try it. I just won't risk it." said Kaiba, then turns his attention back at Joey. "Scrounging on the scraps of past victories and begging for mercy from true duelists."

"Please, Kaiba." said Yugi. "That's just not true, and you know it."

"Oh, yeah? Well, that's the attitude you have to take if you want to stand a chance against Maximillion Pegasus." he said, looking at Pegasus' castle in the distance. "You and Paige don't understand, Yugi. This is the man who created duel monsters. He has every card that's ever been made at his disposal. He's mastered every strategy that's ever been played. Pegasus always makes sure that he has every possible advantage working in his favor. If I'm to stand any chance against him at all, I'll have to play by my own ruthless rules, not his."

Yugi looks down at his dueling glove as Kaiba continued. "Open your eyes. Even with your prodigious talents, Yugi, you'll be defeated like all the others." said Kaiba. "Because when Pegasus duels he uses much more than mere skill. I've seen him use a magic that's stronger than any card. It was at the intercontinental tournament in New York City."

[Flashback]

Kaiba was sitting on the sidelines as he watches a duel. "I had been invited as Pegasus' guest of honor." said Kaiba. Pegasus was sitting at a table with what looks like to be a biker dude.

"A skilled hot-shot duelist called Bandit Keith had made it to the final match. He was playing well, but I could see that Pegasus was still just toying with him. Of course, Keith had no idea."

"Heh heh heh." laughed Keith. "I wish you could see the expression on your face, Pegasus. Its priceless. Tell you what, if you ask nice, I'll finish you fast."

"Boy! I wanna be a duelist like him!" said a boy in the crowd behind Kaiba. Keith draws a card from his deck. "Ha! This card clinches it for me." Keith said to Pegasus. "Any final words, cutie pie? Hey, I'm talkin' to you!"

"Pegasus just stared straight into Keith's eyes with unnerving confidence." said Kaiba. "Then he scribbled something on a piece of paper and called over some kid from the crowd."

Pegasus looks over at the kid and motions him to come over. "Huh?" asked the kid, pointing to himself.

"Hey, what are you doin'?" asked Bandit Keith. "Askin' for help's illegal."

"I don't need help." said Pegasus as the boy takes his seat. "A child could defeat you, Bandit Keith, and I'm going to prove it."

"But I just started to learn how to play last week!" said the boy.

"Just follow these instructions and you'll win." Pegasus tells him, handing over the paper.

"Uh…" said the boy as he reads the piece of paper.

"What's he up to?" thought Keith, glaring at Pegasus who then walks over and sits next to Kaiba.

"Hello, Kaiba." said Pegasus. "Ah, I do hope you're enjoying the tournament so far. Oh, I know it must seem crude to you. Not like the holographic dueling stations your company is developing, eh, Kaiba?"

"If Pegasus thinks he's gonna throw off my game with his lame theatrics, he's dead wrong." thought Keith. "Ha. I've got this match in the bag."

"Garnecia Elefantis!" said Keith, placing down the monster card with an elephant on it.

"Good card," said the boy as he reads the instructions Pegasus gave him in one hand while holding several cards in the other. "but the note says when you play that, I should play this one in attack mode." The boy plays another card with an elephant on it.

"No way!" shouted Keith.

"Uh, I think I just took all your life points." said the boy.

"What?!" screeched Keith, standing up from the chair. "You little snot-nosed brat! There is no way you could have known I was gonna play that card! Give me that!"

Keith takes the note out of the boy's hand and reads it for himself. "Huh?!" he said, shocked to see that the boy was telling the truth. "It's all here! The card I played, how to beat it, everything!"

"Huh?" said Kaiba as he sees Pegasus standing from his seat.

"Sam is the winner." said Pegasus.

"Oh!" said Kaiba, shocked.

[Flashback ends]

"I still don't know how he did it." said Kaiba, closing his briefcase. "I only hope my new duel disk system will give me the edge I need to beat him once and for all."

"I remember that tournament." said Paige, shuddering. "It was creepy how he did it."

"That story…" said Yugi, remembering what happened with his grandpa. "It reminds me of when I faced Pegasus."

[Flashback]

"I see you're about to use a Kumori Dragon." said Pegasus.

"What?" said Yami.

"I know every move you'll make before you can even make it." Pegasus tells him.

[Flashback ends]

"It was like Pegasus was able to see all my cards." said Yugi. "But, Kaiba, that's still no excuse to take it out on us and turn Joey into your new system's Guinea pig."

"Perhaps." said Kaiba. "But that system could be my only way to beat Pegasus, so I had to test it. This is war for me, Yugi. Your friend was a casualty."

"Kaiba, we may not agree with each other's methods, but at least we both understand that Pegasus must be stopped." said Yugi. "I hope you succeed in rescuing your brother."

"And I hope you succeed in your ventures." Kaiba said over his shoulder. "Let's just hope our paths don't cross again before this is all over."

From his castle, Pegasus starts laughing again. "I can sense you, Kaiba." he said to himself as he goes into another round of laughter. "But are you hunting for me, or am I hunting you?"
