To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.
I've already had my background chapter ready for Seasons 2-5. To the one who has thought that Paige should have Arkana's Dark Magician, I want you to know that you are very lucky that I have that card in my actual deck. I want everyone to know that when I write season 5 (I really do mean when I write it), how I see Atem when he enters the world of his memories, there will be a couple of major surprises. I can't tell you what those surprises will be because they are still in development and I'm bouncing around some ideas with a couple of my friends so that I can make it the best part of season 5.
If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!
I DONT OWN YUGIOH AT ALL! I ONLY OWN THE OC AND HER DUELING DECK!
Shoutouts:
"This is one lightning storm I don't think my Flame Swordsman's gonna weather." said Joey. "If you got any bright ideas, now's the time."
"Ugh." Yugi said in reply.
"Gate Guardian, Thunderstroke Attack!" shouted Para as thunder shoots from its body and aims it at Flame Swordsman.
"AAH! Can't look." said Joey, turning away as the lightning hits Flame Swordsman.
"Ha! Now you see!" said Para. "Our Gate Guardian conquers all."
"Grr. Not the turn." said Yugi.
"Huh?" said Para as Yugi turns over one of his face down cards.
"Unless he's not affected by traps." said Yugi, showing his trap card. "Mirror Force, reflect his attack!"
"All right!" shouted Joey as Mirror Force reflected the attack for Flame Swordsman.
"Gate Guardian, defend squall barricade!" shouted Para as Gate Guardian brings out water to defend itself.
"Ha ha ha." laughed the brothers.
"Our monster's not felled." said Para.
"You've been repelled." said Dox.
"Yes, but your Guardian has deflected my attack right at your monster tamer." said Yugi.
"Huh?" said the brothers as the attack went straight for their Monster Tamer, destroying it on the field.
"You've destroyed your own monster." said Yugi.
"Oh!" said Para, his life points dropping to 900.
"Lucky move." said Dox, his life points dropping to 1600.
"Way to play, fellas." said Tea. "Keep it up and we'll be out of these musty old caves in no time."
"You got it, Tea." said Joey.
"Give it up, Kaiba." said one of Pegasus' goon.
"We know you're in here somewhere!" said the second goon.
"Yeah, it's no use hiding!" said a third goon.
"Sir, maybe he's gone." said the second goon. "I can't find a trace of him."
"Impossible." said the first goon. "There's no way he could have escaped."
"But, sir, I've checked every corridor." said the third goon.
"Then stand guard by his brother's cell." said the first goon. "He'll show up. Now go!"
"Yes sir!"
"Right away!"
Jumping down from one of the corridors, Kaiba appeared and goes off to continue looking for Mokuba. "All right! Now it's my turn." said Joey.
"Wait a minute, Joey." said Yugi. "Don't make your move just yet."
"Huh?" said Joey.
"Look at the Gate Guardian." he said. "It was created by combining three different monsters, right?"
"So?" asked Joey.
"So that may be our ticket to dismantling him." said Yugi.
"Right. Section by section." said Joey, seeing his strategy. "Ok, then. Flame Swordsman, use Salamandra's magic and attack the mid-section!" Flame Swordsman roared as he used Salamandra, aiming it at the Guardian's mid-section. "Atta, boy!" said Joey. "Scorch 'em good!"
Suddenly, the bottom section of the Guardian shoots out water, dampening Salamandra's powers. "You fool! Attack one section and the others will defend it." said Dox. "You wasted your turn. Now my guardian will lay waste to you! Tidal Surge Attack!"
The Gate Guardian fills the maze with water, causing Joey to groan. "Oh, my." said Bakura.
"Oh no." said Paige.
"Huh?" said Tristan and Tea.
"Dox is using the water elemental section of his Gate Guardian to flush out the entire maze." said Bakura. "Everything in its path will be attacked. The Mystic properties of the Magic Hats will protect the Magician, but I'm afraid Joey's Swordsman won't be as lucky."
"Joey's defenseless." said Paige as Flame Swordsman was destroyed on the field.
"We have taken the lead." said Dox.
"For now." said Joey.
"Your Gate Guardian may have dampen the field, but not our spirits." said Yugi, placing a card face down. "For my turn, I lay this card face down and….I call upon the Summoned Skull to finish the job Joey's Flame Swordsman started."
Growling its way to the field, Summoned Skulled (ATT: 2500/DEF:1200) appeared, ready for battle. "Oh, you must be joking." said Para.
"That Swordsman started nothing before he left choking." said Dox.
"Ha!" said the brothers.
"Hmm. That's quite not true." said Yugi. "If it weren't for him, the stage wouldn't be set for my Summoned Skull's attack."
"AAH! WHOA!" exclaimed the two brothers.
"I knew it!" said Paige.
"The water." said Tristan. "Yugi's going to use it as a conductor for an electrical attack."
"Summoned Skull, Lightning Strike!" shouted Yugi and Summoned Skull summons the lightning.
"The water's actually guiding the attack." said Tea as lightning went through the water.
"Payback time!" said Joey.
"Not yet." said Dox. "You may have found a watery trail leading back to our guardian, but you have yet to breach his defenses, defenses that we activate now."
"Huh?" asked Para.
"Uh, what's wrong?" asked Dox.
"What's wrong is that by flooding the whole field with your Tidal Surge, you attacked my Magical Hats, and hidden underneath one of them was a trap!" said Yugi.
"What?" asked Dox.
"A trap that immobilizes your guardian and leaves him powerless to defend himself." said Yugi, revealing Spellbinding Circle.
"No! My Gate Guardian!" shouted Dox.
"Ensnared by my Spellbinding Circle and 700 defense points weaker because of it, leaving Suijin, your Guardian's water elemental, quite vulnerable to my electrical attack!" explained Yugi as the water elemental was destroyed. "One section down, 2 to go!"
"Way to go, Yuge!" said Joey as Dox's life went to 900. "We'll have this lug, chopped down to size in no time. Ha ha ha."
"That's the way we do it! Yeah!" shouted Tea and Paige.
"Hey, look. All the water's disappearin'." said Joey. "Not only is Suijin gone, but it looks like he took all of his water with him."
"Hmm." said Para. "Our Guardian is only damaged, not beaten. Remove Trap!"
Just then, Para's spell card removes Spellbinding Circle from their monster. "Ha! Even without Suijin, our Guardian is still unbeatable." Para tells Yugi and Joey.
"We'll see about that. Hmm." said Joey, then drew his next card. "It's my turn now."
"Their Gate Guardian may be unbeatable by any monster, but not by our teamwork." thought Yugi.
"All right, Bozo Brothers!" Joey shouted as he plays his next card. "Try this on for size. The Red Eyes Black Dragon!"
As Red Eyes appeared on the field, it roared alongside a growling Summoned Skull. "And now, with the magic card of my Polymerization card, I'll combine Joey's Red Eyes with my Summoned Skull!" said Yugi as Summoned Skull and Red Eyes Black Dragon combined on the field.
"Interesting." said Paige.
"Ugh! A combo!" said Para and Dox.
"You now face…." said Yugi.
"The Supreme Black Skull Dragon." said Joey.
"That's new. I like it!" said Paige as Black Skull Dragon (ATT: 3200/DEF:2500) roared as it appeared on the field.
"Your guy aint unbeatable now, huh?" asked Joey.
"Mmm. Right." said Yugi. "Let's see your Labyrinth stop him."
"Ha ha ha ha ha." laughed Para and his brother followed suit.
"Hmm?" asked Yugi and Joey.
"What are you two clowns laughing about?" asked Joey.
"You fools! You think your new creature will win the match for you?" asked Dox.
"You're wrong." said Para. "There is little that your monster can do, for there is a maze rule that you must not have known."
"A rule? Oh, no!" said Joey as his body starts to shake in fear.
"Oh, yes," said Dox. "and the rules state that the Labyrinth is a no-flying zone."
"Aw, nuts, and my Red Eyes Black Dragon can only move by flight." said Joey. "These rules stink."
"Don't worry." said Yugi. "I have an alternative plan."
"Ah." Joey said, relieved to hear him say that. "I was hoping you'd say that. Ya hear that? We got a backup plan."
Para and Dox starts laughing at Joey's statement. "Uh, Yugi, why don't they look worried?"
"Yeah, why don't they look worried?" echoed Paige.
"So, uh, what do you think the bald brothers are up to, Yugi?" asked Joey.
"You mock us? Ha." scoffed Dox, then laughs as he draws his next card. "But with this next card, I will trash your team." He then laughs again, leaving his opponents to have weird looks on their faces. "Riryoku!" said Dox, playing the magic card.
"Ugh. Riryoku?" asked Yugi.
"It's all Greek to me, pal." said Joey, clueless as ever.
"Riryoku. It's a rare and mighty card, Joey." said Yugi.
"Too true." said Dox. "Riryoku's legendary power allows me to take half of my opponent's life points and add them to one of my own creature's attack points!"
"Oh no." said Paige.
"What?" asked Tristan.
"What's wrong, Paige?" asked Tea.
"I had Riryoku in my deck once, until I lost it." said Paige. "Yugi helped me look for it everywhere, but we couldn't find it anywhere."
"No fair!" shouted Joey as both his and Yugi's life points were cut in half. "You might as well be stealing!"
"Stay strong!" Yugi said to Joey.
"Stay strong?" asked Dox.
"The only one on this field who will be staying strong is our Gate Guardian, for he is the one we are powering up with your life points." said Para as their Gate Guardian used the life points taken from Yugi and Joey.
"That's like cutting their chances to win in half." said Tristan.
"Luckily for you, using the Riryoku card ends our turn, but when our next move is at hand, we will use our Gate Guardian's new found power to win this duel once and for all. Ha ha." said Dox.
"He will turn your monsters into smears on the Labyrinth walls!" said Para as Joey groans.
"Don't worry about them, Joey. I still have a plan." said Yugi. "First, I draw. Hmm. Next step, my Dark Magician will leave the safety of the Magical Hats and return to the Maze." Out on the field, the Dark Magician pops out from Magical Hats. "Then he'll move six spaces forward and out of your Labyrinth!"
"You fool!" Para said to Yugi. "Why are you moving your Dark Magician out of the maze when you know our Gate Guardian is right there just waiting to attack?"
"Does it matter?" asked Yugi. "You seem certain he'll win regardless of what I do."
"Uh, yo, Yuge, not for nothin', but you want to fill me in here?" asked Joey.
"Don't forget about us, your cheerleaders, please." said Paige.
"It's alright, Joey. Trust me." said Yugi, then looks at his sister with a knowing smile as Para and Dox laughed. "Finally, I play this card. Reborn the Monster!"
"No matter which of his monsters he revives with that card, it will do him no good." thought Para. "Your plan will fail! Gate Guardian, attack the Dark Magician!"
Both thunder and wind portions of Gate Guardian powered up with electricity and wind, combining their attacks and aimed at Dark Magician. "You attacked without waiting to see which monster I resurrected from the Graveyard pile, so you couldn't know." Yugi said to the grinning brothers. "You wasted your attack. Suijin, Tidal shield!"
Surrounding the Dark Magician was a funnel of water, brought in by Suijin. "What?" asked Para and Dox, shocked that Yugi would use one of their monsters.
"Recognized the monster?" asked Yugi, smirking at them. "You should, seeing how it's yours." Still bringing in water to protect the Dark Magician, Suijin pops up under him.
"Ge used his Reborn the Monster card to bring back our Suijin." said Para.
"Only now, he's not ours." added Dox. "He's been brought back on their side."
"Yeah, Yuge!" cheered Joey as the water disappeared around Dark Magician. "That's the play of the game!"
"Ooh. That was a close one." said Tristan.
"Sure was." said Tea in agreement.
"I wonder what their next move will be." said Paige.
"Hmm." said Bakura. "Now the question is can they follow through?"
"You have been lucky, you little louts!" shouted Para.
"But we promise your luck's about to run out." said Dox.
"Fine, but in the meantime, its Joey's turn." said Yugi, facing Joey.
"Right." said Joey as he drew his next card. "Ok. Yugi started our comeback. Now I gotta keep it going."
"With that Water Elemental I revived, bought us some time, but not a whole lot of time." Yugi thought, sighing. "It's going to be up to Joey to keep us in this duel. And I know he won't let us down."
"Hmm." said Joey, looking at the card he drew. "Copycat? Copies one card your opponent's thrown out onto the field. Huh? Oh. Huh? Heh Heh. Aw, man, I just had a killer idea."
"Huh?" said Para and Dox.
"Here it goes." said Joey, placing his card on the field. "I'll use Copycat and play it as Riryoku!"
As Para and Dox scream in fear.
"That's right. Say Adios to half of your life points." said Joey as both Para and Dox's life points dropped to 450. "Don't worry, they're going to a good cause…my Black Skull Dragon."
Black Skull Dragon's attack points increased to 4000. "Great move, Joey." said Yugi, proud of his friend for thinking this.
"Yeah." said Joey, proud of himself as well.
"Why power up your Dragon?" asked Dox. "He is still forbidden to fly into the maze and therefore cannot move. If you were smart, you wouldn't have used it on that treacherous Water Elemental because its him I'm attacking. Thunderstroke, attack!" Gate Guardian shot out what seemed to be purple thunder when Yugi interfered.
"Suijin, raise Tidal Shield to defend!" shouted Yugi and Suijin shot water right at the attack.
"To be honest, we knew you would defend." said Para.
"Indeed. Now hit him again." said Dox and Gate Guardian shoots out lightning. Dark Magician jumps up and Suijin is destroyed.
"What happened?" asked Tea.
"Suijin is only allowed to use his Tidal Shield ability once per turn." said Bakura.
"And since Suijin is destroyed, Yugi and Joey won't be able to use Tidal Shield." said Paige.
"So the Paradox brothers split their attacks into two waves." said Bakura.
"Yugi, did you really think that one elemental could stand a chance against two?" asked Para. "That miscalculation will cost you the duel."
"Ha. I'm afraid you're mistaken." said Yugi. "Not only did I know that you could destroy Suijin, but I planned that you would."
"What do you mean?" asked Para.
"Anything to draw attention away from my Dark Magician." said Yugi, holding up his spell card. "After all, if I'm to use this Monster Replace card with our Black Skull Dragon, I needed someone strategically placed to switch places with."
"No! He can't!" said Para.
"He played us for fools, brother." said Dox. "Knowing that his Dragon could not move within the Labyrinth, he had his Dark Magician do it for him."
"And now….Monster Replace!" said Yugi, putting the card down. "Exchange the Dark Magician with the Black Skull Dragon!"
"AAH!" screamed the Paradox brothers as the Black Skull Dragon appears before them.
"At first, I thought the only way to beat your Gate Guardian was piece by piece." said Yugi. "But now with our powered-up Dragon, we can finished this with one final, ferocious assault. Black Skull Dragon, Molten Fireball Attack!"
Black Skull Dragon created a meteor sized fireball and fires it at Gate Guardian, destroying it on the field. The Paradox brothers life points had finally dropped to 0.
"Ha ha ha. Take that." said Joey.
"The duel goes to us." said Yugi.
"Yeah!" said Bakura.
"All right!" said Tea.
"They won!" said Tristan.
"Go Yugi and Joey!" said Paige.
"Doesn't that mean….." said Tea.
"You got it, Tea." said Paige.
"Oh, yeah. 10 stars." said Tristan.
"They did it?" asked Bakura.
"They did it!" all four of them said.
"All full." said Joey as he and Yugi filled in their duelling gloves.
"And all set to duel Pegasus." said Yugi and suddenly, Paige runs up, hugging him from behind.
"You were great!" said Paige, smiling at him as Dox starts laughing at the group.
"Not quite set." said Para.
"Still one test yet." said both brothers.
"I should have known." growled Yugi. Deep in the dungeons of Pegasus' castle, Kaiba knocks out one of the goons.
"Huh? What the….." said the other goon, grunting as Kaiba knocks him out from behind and runs towards Mokuba's cell.
"Mokuba." he said, causing his little brother to look up.
"Huh?" said Mokuba. "Uh, Seto. Seto it's you."
"Yeah. Its me." said Kaiba with a small smile on his face.
"Ah, Seto." said Mokuba, grabbing his necklace. "I always knew that you would come and rescue me. Always."
"Little brother." said Kaiba.
"So what now?" Mokuba asked, standing up from the cold hard ground. "I bet you have some high-tech plans to get me out….Uhh, Unh." Mokuba had forgotten that he was chained to the wall by his feet. "Oh!"
"Stay still, kiddo." said Kaiba.
"Ok. Whatever you say, Big Brother." said Mokuba.
"Just give me one second to pick this lock." said Kaiba. Just as he was starting to pick the lock, Pegasus sneaks up behind him.
"Well, well. The brothers Kaiba, reunited at last." said Pegasus.
"Huh?" said Kaiba, looking up to see Pegasus standing behind him.
"Bravo, Kaiba. Bravo." Pegasus said, clapping. "I knew nothing would stop you from getting here."
"Pegasus." said Kaiba.
"What do you mean there's another test?" asked Joey as he and the others stood before the Paradox brothers. "Yugi and I just beat you two in a duel. Isn't that enough?"
"Enough to win our star chips, but not enough to escape this Labyrinth." said Para. "You must still choose a door, remember?"
"I remember." said Yugi. "Now, which of you brothers are guarding the door that leads out of here?"
"If you cherish your lives, you will choose my way." said Para.
"Select my side, or else you'll pay." said Dox.
"Not this game again." said Tea. "Can't you two just act normal and give us a straight answer for once?"
"Because I don't want to be stuck down here for the rest of my life." said Paige.
"I am giving you a straight answer." said both brothers.
"The answer is we can't trust either of these two." said Yugi.
"Ok, guys. Any bright ideas?" asked Tristan.
"Uh, sure. Don't I always?" asked Joey.
"Mm-mmm." they said, shaking their heads no.
"Aw. Zero respect." said Joey, crossing his arms.
"Hmm." said Yugi, smirking and holds up two coins. "We'll decide with these."
"Uh." said Tea, Joey, Tristan and Bakura as the Paradox brothers laughed.
"Ok. Heads or tails?" asked Dox.
"Neither." said Yugi, holding out each closed hand with a coin inside. "I marked each coin to represent a different door. The coin that I keep clenched in my fist will be the door that I have chosen."
"Ah, Kaiba." said Pegasus as Kaiba stood up from Mokuba's cell door. "I knew you'd come for Mokuba eventually."
"Oh, you did?" Kaiba asked sarcastically. "Well, tell me something, Pegasus. Did you also foresee what I'm about to do to you for harming my little brother?"
"Actually, Kaiba, I predict you won't lay a finger on me." said Pegasus.
"And why is that?" asked Kaiba as Pegasus laughed.
"Mmm." he said, revealing his millenium eye.
"Ready?" asked Yugi, holding up his fists to the Paradox brothers and reveals the coin in his left hand.
"That coin is marked for Dox's door…" said Para.
"But was your choice good or was it poor?" asked Dox.
"What say you, Dox?" asked Para. "Shall we tell which was right?"
"In due time, Para." said Dox. "I'm enjoying their plight."
"Come on. Was it Para?" asked Joey.
"Or was it Dox?" asked Tea as Paige looked at both doors.
"Yeah, fess up." said Tristan. Yugi growled as the brothers laughed.
"I say…" said Para.
"You choose wrong!" said Dox, gesturing to his door. "It was my doorway…."
"All along!" said Para, laughing with his brother.
"So, Dox's door was the right one?" asked Tea.
"Hmm….." said Paige before glaring at the Paradox brothers.
"Not quite." said Yugi.
"Huh? Oh, yes, it was." said Para.
"Except, if we had picked it, Para's door would be the right one." said Yugi. "You can change which door leads to which path, can't you, ensuring that we choose wrong."
"That's no fair." said Joey. "You guys cheated."
"He's right." said Paige.
"Too bad. Too late. You chose a way and that means…." said Dox.
"In this maze you will stay." said Para.
"Well, actually, you never saw our choice." said Yugi, then reveals the coin in his right hand with Dox's symbol.
"The Dox coin." said Joey.
"I figured the two of you would pull a stunt like this, so I pulled a stunt of my own with these two coins." said Yugi. "Instead of marking them both with just one insignia, I marked the second coin with two. One insignia on each side. That way, we couldn't lose."
"Where did you get those coins from?" asked Paige.
"From the coin pouch on your backpack." he answered. "Don't worry, I'll give them back."
"You better. And that better not be permanent marker." she grumbled.
"Ha! Beat ya at your own game." said Joey.
"Both of them." said Yugi. "Now, if you'll excuse us, we have a score to settle with your boss."
"All right, then." said Joey as Dox's door opens. "On to Pegasus' castle."
"You conniving snake." said Kaiba. "I should take you down right now for what you've done to Mokuba."
"Don't be ridiculous, Kaiba boy." said Pegasus. "In my dungeon, in my castle, in my realm, the only one who makes threats….is me." His millenium eye begins to glow, causing Kaiba to close his eyes from the light.
"AAH!" screamed Mokuba and his body falls to the cold hard dungeon floor. Kaiba looks back at his brother.
"Mokuba?" he asked and receives no answer while Pegasus snickers at him, revealing a card with Mokuba on it.
"You monster!" shouted Kaiba. "What have you done? What have you done to him?"
"It's just a little magic trick." said Pegasus.
"Tell me, what have you done?" demanded Kaiba.
"I've ensued your cooperation, for, you see, Mokuba's soul is now imprisoned in a place where the locks can't be picked." said Pegasus.
"You're mad." said Kaiba.
"And there he will remain, Kaiba Boy, until you beat me in a duel." Pegasus said.
"Duel? With you? Now?" Kaiba asked. "Fine. I'll do anything."
"Mm-mmm. Not just yet, Kaiba." said Pegasus. "You must first earn the privilege to challenge me, and you can only do that by defeating Yugi in a duel. And if you can't win against him, Mokuba's soul will stay mine forever. Ha ha ha ha ha."
