To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.

I've already had my background chapter ready for Seasons 2-5. To the one who has thought that Paige should have Arkana's Dark Magician, I want you to know that you are very lucky that I have that card in my actual deck. I want everyone to know that when I write season 5 (I really do mean when I write it), how I see Atem when he enters the world of his memories, there will be a couple of major surprises. I can't tell you what those surprises will be because they are still in development and I'm bouncing around some ideas with a couple of my friends so that I can make it the best part of season 5.

If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!

"So, what will it be, Seto Kaiba? Do you care enough about your brother's life to try and save his soul?" Pegasus asked. "Not that you really have a choice. Mokuba's soul belongs to me. So lifelike. But you probably preferred him in the flesh, didn't you?"

"Argh, you're not human!" growled Kaiba.

"Quite human, actually. Just extraordinary gifted." said Pegasus, then throws some star chips onto the floor near Kaiba. "Here. You'll need these for your duel with Yugi."

"Huh? Why are you doing this?" asked Kaiba.

"My reasons are none of your concern." said Pegasus, untying the small tie from his collar as Kaiba softly growls. "Maybe I just enjoy the struggle, watching the constant tug of war between you and Yugi-boy. Or maybe I want something you're incapable of comprehending….something you'll end up delivering to me all tied up in a bow."

"Talk straight. What do you want?" asked Kaiba.

"Want? I want to see if you're capable of defeating little Yugi in a duel." said Pegasus. "And only if you successfully crush him in a humiliating defeat will you get the opportunity to duel me. Then if you beat me, I promise to restore your brother's soul."

"For now, I have no choice but to play your game." said Kaiba, then looks down at his soulless brother's body. "But soon…..as soon as I defeat Yugi, I'll be back. And you'd better make good on your promise to restore my brother, because if you don't, I'll take great pleasure in separating your soul from your body in my own way!"

Kaiba's threat didn't faze Pegasus as he gave out a diabolical chuckle. Outside of the castle, Joey was the first one who made it out. "We're out!" exclaimed Joey as he stretches out his arms. "Fresh air at last!"

"Nice fresh air!" said Paige, breathing in the air around her.

"All right." said Yugi as he followed Tea out.

"Huh? Whats this?" asked Bakura, looking down at his millenium ring. "My millenium ring is pointing…."

"There…." said Tea, pointing to Pegasus' castle. "….to Pegasus' castle."

"Right where we're headin'." said Joey. "'Cause Yugi and I both have enough star chips to get us inside the castle now. Isn't that right, Yuge?"

"Yeah." said Yugi.

"Finally! It all paid off for Yugi and Paige. Sometimes Yugi seems so gentle, you wouldn't think he could even challenge another duelist. But when he duels, its seems like he's someone else, someone more confident and determined than the Yugi I know." said Tea. "It's almost like there are two Yugis…our friend and brother whom we've known for years and a more mysterious guy who shows up only when Yugi's over his head. Wait. Maybe there are 2 Yugis!"

[Flashback]

Yami-Bakura and Yami were dueling in the Shadow Realm.

"I remember now. There was a game in the Shadow Realm. And there was a bigger and more serious Yugi playing. But little Yugi was in the game with the rest of us!" thought Tea.

"Huh?" said Yugi.

"Listen closely, Yugi." said Yami. "Use the power of the Dark Magician! Send him to the graveyard now!"

"You've got it! Dark Magic Attack!" shouted Yugi and sends Yami-Bakura screaming to the graveyard.

[Flashback ends]

"It was like the more experience Yugi was coaching our Yugi." thought Tea as she watches Yugi fix his glove and Paige beams at her brother.

"Something wrong?" Yugi asked Tea.

"Mm-mmm." said Tea, shaking her head. "I just wondered…."

"Hey, you three!" Joey called out.

"Do you ever feel like…." Tea started to ask when the three looked up at Joey.

"Whats the holdup?" he asked.

"You interrupting someone's conversation, Joey." Paige called out to him.

"Hurry up, or we'll go inside without you." said Tristan.

"You know, since none of us are even supposed to be here, maybe we should wait for him." suggested Bakura.

"Paige was the exception because she's Yugi's sister." said Joey.

"Ha. Good point." said Tristan.

"Grandpa, here we come." said Yugi as he takes off and trips over a rock. "Oh…ooh! Uhhh…"

"Ouch." said Tea. "Uh, this is how you're going to save your Grandpa?"

"If so, then I need to bandage you up first before we go save the man." said Paige, looking at Tea.

"I rescued you." said Yugi, looking over his shoulder at Tea. "Remember?"

"Mmm." said Tea.

[Flashback]

"That's right. He did." said Tea. "And back then, I barely even knew him and Paige."

At a restaurant, Tea was working as a waitress. "Welcome to Burger Palooza." said Tea when she sees Joey, Yugi and Paige walk in.

"Huh?" the three asked as they see Tea in her waitress uniform.

"Come right in." said Tea. "For the juiciest….

"Tea?" they asked.

"Uh, Joey! Yugi! Paige! Uhh!" said Tea, then turns away from them. 'What are they doing here? They could get me in big trouble. You're supposed to be 18 to work here. If they let it slip that I'm still in school, I'll be fired! I won't be able to pay for my dance lessons.'

"You know, Yuge and Paige," said Joey. "I'm telling ya, we should really try to get to know Tea better. I mean she seems really nice."

"I don't blame you, Joey." said Paige. "I really need a female friend to talk to."

"I know. She's very kind, and she hardly ever loses her temp…." said Yugi when suddenly Tea walks over to their table with their food.

"Huh?"

"Uhh!" said Tea. "What are you guys doing here? Are you trying to get me fired? Thanks a lot. Here, have some ketchup."

"Uhhh…." said Joey.

"Um….." said Paige, blinking up at her.

"Sorry. We didn't even know you worked here." said Yugi.

"You got a lot of attitude for someone waitin' tables." said Joey.

"You think this is all I want do with my life?" Tea asked them.

"Huh?" asked Joey.

"Just wait until I graduate. Then you know what I want to do?" asked Tea. "Study Ballet."

"Uh…..park cars, huh?" asked Joey.

"Well…." said Yugi.

"Not Valet. Ballet." said Tea. "I'm saving up to go study dance in New York!"

Tea opens her eyes to see that the three of them weren't laughing and Paige was smiling at her. "Huh? You're….not laughing." she said.

"Nah. Why would we laugh, Tea?" asked Joey. "You oughta be what you want to be."

"Yeah, that's right. Follow your dreams." said Yugi.

"I think it's wonderful that you want to study Ballet, Tea." said Paige.

"What you and Paige said that day really made me appreciate you guys." thought Tea. "That and what you both did next."

"Huh? Uh?" Tea said, confused as she opens her locker to find a note written by Yugi and Paige.

'Tea, we found a space in the old warehouse on spring street that you could use for a dance studio. Meet us there after school.'

"A dance studio!" Tea exclaimed. 'I couldn't wait to check it out.'

Tea heads to the warehouse and opens the door. "Yugi! Joey! Paige! Are you guys here?" Tea called out. "I'm warning you! If this is a joke…." Suddenly the door slams shuts behind her, causing Tea to turn around and sees a strange man. "Huh?"

"Just hand over all the money you got in your purse, lady, and nobody'll get hurt." he threatened Tea.

"Uh…" Tea said, scared for her life.

"Whats the matter, lady?" he asked. "You heard me. Gimme all of your dough and make it quick!"

"Tea!" shouted Yugi and Paige, entering the warehouse and grabbing the mugger around his waist. He then tries to throw both of them off.

"Get away from her!" shouted Yugi.

"Get lost!" said the mugger as he threw Yugi towards some wooden crates.

"Leave her alone!" screamed Paige, causing the mugger to be thrown at Tea's feet.

"Yugi! Paige! Uhh! Uhh!" said Tea, attacking the mugger by biting his arm.

"Aaahh! Get off!" he shouted, throwing her back towards Paige and hits the wall. Suddenly, the Millenium Puzzle glowed .

"YU-GI-OH!" shouted Yami as he stood in Yugi's place.

"Turn and face me, coward." said Yami. "Let's see how bold you are when someone stands up to you."

"Wha'?" asked the mugger.

"Come play a little game with me now….and you will learn your fate." said Yami.

"Are you crazy?!" the mugger asked.

"It's a game I think even you could understand." explained Yami, taking out Yugi's deck. "We each draw a single card, and the weakest card loses. If you win, you go free. But if you lose, I will decide your fate."

"Ha! You are nuts." scoffed the mugger.

"So? Ae you afraid then?" asked Yami.

"Afraid? Huh!" said the mugger, drawing a card from Yugi's deck and starts laughing. "Let's see you beat this card. Its points are really high."

Eyes closed, Yami drew another one of Yugi's cards, looked down and smiled. "And I drew….the Dark Magician…so I win." said Yami, showing him the card.

"Ha ha ha ha ha." laughed the mugger. "Enough of your crazy game. Time to teach you a lesson, you nut job!" The mugger goes to strike a punch at Yami, when the eye of the millenium puzzle appears on his forehead.

"I don't think so." said Yami. "Mind Crush!"

"AAAHHH!" screamed the mugger as Yami opens his mind and falls to the ground. Tea and Paige opened their eyes to see Yami standing there.

"Tea. Tea." Yami called out as he helps Paige stand up.

"Huh?" said Tea.

"Are you all right?" asked Yami with Paige leaning against him. "You and Paige won't have to worry about him anymore."

"Huh….Uh?" said Tea.

[Flashback ends]

"Tea?" asked Yugi, trying to get her attention. "Tea. I asked you if you remembered."

"Should I shake her? She's spacing out on us." said Paige, waving her hand in front of Tea's face.

"You guys, I remember." said Tea, crouching down to Yugi. "But what was it that you did to that guy that day."

"I don't know." said Yugi. "When I came to, that mugger was already on the ground. I don't remember anything about it."

"What about you, Paige?" asked Tea.

"I remember Yugi getting pushed into some wooden crates, then I was being thrown at your feet." said Paige, placing a finger on her chin. "But the last thing I remember was hearing someone say 'Yugioh!' before I blacked out."

"The both of you are mysterious people, Yugi and Paige." said Tea. "Do you ever feel there's something weird going on? Sometimes you seem like you're a completely different person and Paige doesn't know it. Does what I'm saying make any sense to you?"

"I know what you mean." said Yugi, sighing. "Sometimes I feel like there's someone else inside of me."

"It makes perfect sense to me." said Paige. "But I think it's someone coming from inside the puzzle."

"I hope we're not losing it." said Yugi.

"Huh?" said Tea, before standing up. "Well, whatever's going on with you, the three of you are really good people. Trust me."

"Well said, Tea." said Paige.

"Thanks, Tea." said Yugi.

"Hey, do we need to carry you guys up?" Joey asked.

"Yeah, what's the problem? Come on." said Tristan.

"How about I drag you up there by your lips, Joey?" Paige called out to him as she walks over to the stairs. "That way you won't be able to interrupt people when their talking!"

"Ehh." said Joey backing away from her as Tea reaches out to help Yugi up.

"Come on. Let's go." said Tea.

"(Chuckles) Yeah." said Yugi, being pulled up from the ground.

"You'd think someone as rich as Pegasus would put in an elevator." complained Joey as they were almost up the stone staircase.

"Yeah, but at least we're getting some cardio done." said Paige.

"Hey guys, look." said Tristan, looking up to see Kaiba standing at the door. "You're not gonna believe who's blockin' our way into the castle."

"It's Kaiba!" said Yugi.

"What the heck's he doin' here?" asked Joey.

"I can't let you pass, Yugi." said Kaiba.

"I've won 10-star chips, so stand aside." said Yugi.

"You may have own enough star chips to qualify for the duelist kingdom playoffs, Yugi, but I can't allow you to face Pegasus. He's mine." said Kaiba. "You and I are going to one final duel. You will lose and I will win. The winds of change are blowing Yugi Muto."

"Ohh! He's so smug up there!" said Tea.

"This is why I never dated Rex when he asked me out." said Paige. "I prefer to date boys who are smug free."

"Pegasus might be forcing me to fight Yugi, but it's a rematch I've wanted all along." thought Kaiba.

"Step aside, Kaiba!" said Yugi.

"Not until you agree to duel me." said Kaiba.

"I'm not dueling you." Yugi tells Kaiba. "I don't have to."

"So….no longer confident your so-called 'Heart of the cards' can help you win?" asked Kaiba. "Or are you afraid you can't beat me without Exodia? That's it, isn't it, Yugi? You're just afraid you can't beat me a second time, you coward."

"MY BROTHER ISNT A COWARD, YOU CRAZY STUPID CEO!" screamed Paige, reaching out for Kaiba as Tea held her back.

"Ok, she's seeing red." said Joey.

"Paige, calm down." said Tristan.

"No, I will not calm down, Tristan." growled Paige. "He needs to take back what he said about my brother. So what? It wasn't Yugi's fault that Exodia was thrown into the ocean. It was all Weevil's fault. You know that Yugi needs to beat Pegasus to get back my grandpa's soul!"

"Paige's right." said Tea, then looks back at Kaiba. "You back off. He doesn't have to prove anything."

"Aw, you want a duel, smart mouth?" asked Joey. "I'll take you. Come on, lets duel."

Kaiba laughs evilly as he looks down at Joey. "Don't laugh! AAHHH!" growled Joey.

"Joey, down boy." said Tristan as Bakura grabs him from behind.

"Don't forget when you battled him before, he slaughtered you." said a strained Bakura, causing Joey to sigh.

"Like you could do any better?" asked Tea, causing Tristan and Bakura to chuckle nervously.

"Huh?" asked Kaiba, taking a look at Joey's wrist and sees that he also won as well. "Ha! I can't believe the little barking chihuahua already has 10-star chips. You earned them yourself, or did Yugi throw you a few bones?"

"GRRR! Don't call me a chihuahua! RRR!" growled Joey.

"Ha ha ha. Don't let him snap his chain. There's no challenge in humiliating you again, Joey. There's only one player who's ever beaten me in duel monsters, and that's Yugi." taunted Kaiba.

[Flashback]

Yami and Kaiba were dueling at Kaiba Corp.

"But how he did it is a mystery that still eats away at me. I was winning our battle. My Blue Eyes White Dragon was devastating his forces. His monsters couldn't stand up to its withering attacks. And then I drew my second Blue Eyes. I was invincible! Yugi thought the attack strength of his Dark Magician could stop me….but he never dreamed I'd drew my third Blue Eyes, which blew his Dark Magician away, obliterating his life points. But then…" thought Kaiba.

"And now I'll play the unstoppable Exodia!" said Yami, showing Kaiba Exodia's head.

"Just as he was on the verge of defeat, Yugi somehow achieved the unachievable." he thought. "He assembled all 5 pieces of Exodia!"

"Exodia! Ahh, its not possible!" shouted Kaiba. "No one's ever been able to call him!"

"But somehow, he had."

Exodia raises his arms, creating a yellow ball of energy and directs it towards all three Blue Eyes White Dragons, destroying them on the field.

"AAAAHHHH!" screamed Kaiba as he shielded his eyes from the blasts.

[Flashback ends]

"Yugi, you said you won by tapping into the heart of the cards, and for a long time I didn't know what that meant, but now I think I do." said Kaiba. "And it took Pegasus to show me. He gave me a reason to put my heart in the cards."

"Help me, big brother!" said Mokuba's picture.

"I will help you, Mokuba." thought Kaiba, looking at his half of the picture. "There's not a power on earth that will stop me…not Pegasus, not Yugi. For the first time, Yugi, I can duel with fire and passion in my heart."

"I can feel it." said Yugi.

"It's practically vibrating off of him." added Paige.

"Really?" asked Tristan and Joey.

"No, I meant it metaphorically." she tells them.

"Kaiba has change. I can sense it. He's fighting for more than just himself this time. There's a new belief in the heart of the cards." thought Yugi as he ignores the banter behind him.

"Yugi, you can't accept this duel." said Bakura.

"You've already earned enough star chips to get into the castle." said Tea.

"I've changed. I deserve a rematch." said Kaiba. "Give me a chance to play you now, Yugi. Let me play you for the right reasons."

"After all Grandpa's taught me and Paige, how can I deny the heart of the cards?" Yugi thought to himself. Just then, the Millenium Puzzle glows.

"YUGIOH!"

Standing in Yugi's place was Yami and the eye of the Millenium puzzle appeared on his forehead. "Hmm." said Yami.

"It's happened again." thought Tea. "Yugi suddenly seems different."

"Kaiba, I accept your duel! We'll see what you've really learned." Yami called out. "You just name the place."

"Mmm. Our dueling field is being prepared." said Kaiba, picking up his suitcase full of cards. "Follow me." Out on one of the castle battlements, Kaiba and Yami faced each other for their rematch. "All right, Kaiba. It's time to Duel." said Yami.

"You know, you didn't have to accept this rematch." said Paige.

"Don't worry, Paige." Yami assures her and places a hand on her shoulder. "I need to see for myself that he has changed."

"I'm here for the duelist playoffs." said Bandit Keith, then shows his dueling glove. "I need 10-star chips, right? Well, I got 'em!"

"You qualify." said Pegasus' goon before gesturing to the castle's door. "But the real fun's on the annex roof. You gotta check it out."

"Some action on the roof, huh?" asked Bandit Keith as he walks inside. "Thanks, dude. Maybe I will. Heh heh heh heh. Wonder what's shakin'."

"Yugi, here's the deal." said Kaiba. "We'll each wager 5-star chips on this duel, and the winner will be the only one who earns the right to enter the main castle."

"Done. 5 chips." said Yami, taking out 5-star chips from his glove.

"We'll use my dual disk system. Insert you shuffled deck into the card recognition slot. Life points automatically set to 2,000." said Kaiba as Yami did so.

"Take him! You did it once, Yugi, so we know you can do it again!" said Joey.

"Yeah!" said Tristan.

"That's right!" said Tea.

"Looks like it'll take a while for the other finalists to catch up playin' by the rules, so I might as well kill some time watchin' this duel." said Bandit Keith as he came out onto the roof. "Huh?"

He looks over to see Yugi, Kaiba and the others. "It's those punks I trapped underground!" he said in shock. "How'd they get out? I thought I trapped them in that underground cave forever! Who's that? Is that Seto Kaiba? Heh. Kaiba's in a rematch with Yugi. This I gotta see. For the duel of the century, I need a ringside seat. Heh heh."

"All right. Are you ready to duel, Kaiba?" asked Yami.

"This is it, Yugi. Whoever wins faces Pegasus and whoever loses….well, you'll be left a broken man." said Kaiba.

"We'll see who gets left broken, Kaiba." said Yami. "I will defeat you once and for all!"

"Let's duel!" they said.

"Stand back and prepare for battle." said Kaiba, throwing down the dual disk to the ground. "I play Ryu-Kishin in attack mode!" Ryu-Kishin (ATT:1600/ DEF:1200) roars as it appears on the field and four cards popped up in front of Kaiba.

"Look! The cards!" exclaimed Tea.

"He's made some upgrades to his dual disk system." said Paige.

"They're holograms, just like the monsters." said Joey.

"On your guard." said Yami as he throws down his dual disk as well. "I play Curse of Dragon on attack mode!"

Curse of Dragon (ATT:2000/ DEF:1500) appears, shrieking, ready for battle and cards appeared on Yami's side of the field as well. "Ha!" scoffed Kaiba. "Well done. A formidable card, Yugi, and a play I would expect from a duelist of your caliber."

"Don't patronize me." said Yami.

"Yugi, I know from playing you you're a talented duelist, but you're not as good as I am." said Kaiba. "Listen up. Only one duelist is gonna challenge Pegasus and that's me!"

"Wrong." said Yami.

"Then attack and find out." said Kaiba. "Whats the matter, Yugi? No faith in your monster?"

"You'll see. He's mightier than yours." argued Yami. "Go, Curse of Dragon! Attack Ryu-Kishin!"

Curse of Dragon shrieks as it went into the air and releases its fiery breathe. "Dragon Flame!" shouted Yami. Ryu-Kishin roars as Curse of Dragon destroys him. "There. Ryu-Kishin is no more." he then said as Kaiba's life points dropped to 1,600.

"Hmm. You're good, but oh, so predictable." Kaiba said, smirking as he catches his dual disk. "Don't you think I expected that attack? And once again you've played right into my hands, Yugi."

"He's bluffing. You already got Kaiba on the ropes!" said Joey. "All right! Go, Yugi!"

"It's not a bluff, as you will all soon see." said Kaiba, taking a look at the card he drew. "Heh"

"Is something wrong, Paige?" Tea asked, seeing the girl stare intensely at Kaiba.

"I'll tell you later." she said as Kaiba places his next card down.

"I play Swordstalker!" said Kaiba, throwing out the dual disk. Swordstalker (ATT:2000/ DEF:0) appears, holding a sword in its hands. "The Swordstalker gathers the life force of a fallen ally, raising his own attack power by 20 %. Watch." Ryu-Kishin's life force goes into Swordstalker's sword, causing Swordstalker to raise his attack power to 2400.

"So that's why Kaiba allowed his Ryu-Kishin to be defeated so easily…." thought Yugi. "So he could use its energy to create an even stronger monster! And now that he's done that, his Swordstalker's attack strength is even greater than that of my Curse of Dragon!"

"Attack now, Swordstalker!" Kaiba shouted as he quickly runs over to Yugi's Curse of Dragon, howling as his sword glows a faint light blue. "Vengeance Strike!"

As Swordstalker slices into Curse of Dragon, it disappears from the field. "What?! The Curse of Dragon disappeared!" said Kaiba.

"That's because I laid a monster replace magic card on the field." said Yami as the card turns around towards Kaiba. "This card switches the monster on the field with the monster in my hand that has the highest attack power, and you know what that means. The creature with the greatest attack power in my hand is the Dark Magician."

The Dark Magician (ATT: 2500/ DEF:2100) appears on the field in front of Yami. "Dark Magic Attack!" shouted Yami and the Dark Magician aims his staff at Swordstalker, destroying him on the field.

"The Dark Magician vanquished your Swordstalker." said Yami as Kaiba's life points dropped to 1500.

"All right!" cheered Joey, looking over to Kaiba. "Hey, Kaiba, Yugi puts the moves on you again."

"Hmm. Clueless." said Kaiba. "If those fools only knew what I had in store."

"Now I can replay Curse of Dragon in attack mode." said Yami, as Curse of Dragon comes back out to the field, screeching. "Your move, Kaiba."

"I'll take on your magic with a magician of my own." said Kaiba. "I summon La Jinn, the Mystical Genie! My wish is his command."

La Jinn (ATT:1800/ DEF:1000) appears, laughing evilly on the field with his arms crossed against his body.

"Dark Magician, attack La Jinn! Dark Magic Attack!" shouted Yami as Dark Magician aims his staff at La Jinn.

"Your attack activates my trap…." said Kaiba as the end of Dark Magician's staff begins to glow. "The Ancient Lamp! First it protects my Genie by drawing him into the lamp."

The Ancient Lamp draws in La Jinn. "What?!" said Yami as Dark Magician begins his attack.

"Then the lamp deflects your attack, turning it back on your own monster." said Kaiba as the Ancient Lamp turns the attack on Curse of Dragon, destroying it on the field. "Which lowers your score to equal mine."

Yami growls as his life points matched Kaiba's. "Reflect upon the incredible defensive powers of my Ancient Lamp!" said Kaiba. Yami drew his next card, placing it face down and sends out his dual disk.

"My deflected attack may have destroyed Curse of Dragon, but I still have the Dark Magician." said Yami. "Kaiba, for all your bragging, the score is tied. We're evenly matched."

"Hah. Yugi doesn't suspect that so far my maneuvers…..clever as they are….are all just ploys to distract him from my real plan, to assemble all three Blue Eyes in my deck to create a monster more powerful than any he's ever seen." thought Kaiba. "For combined, they create the ultimate creature of destruction…the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!"

Kaiba laughs as Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon roars in the background.
