To all my readers-This is the first time that I'm going to do Yugioh without making any character name changes. I want you all to know that my OC Paige Muto is related to Yugi and her looks are based on him. So, think of Paige as a feminine Yugi and Atem. Before anyone asks, yes, I will be doing all 5 seasons of Yugioh and that includes Capsule monsters as well. I was once asked if Paige would be dueling and yes, she will. You won't be able to see her duel until season 2 when Kaiba starts his Battle City Tournament.
I've already had my background chapter ready for Seasons 2-5. To the one who has thought that Paige should have Arkana's Dark Magician, I want you to know that you are very lucky that I have that card in my actual deck. I want everyone to know that when I write season 5 (I really do mean when I write it), how I see Atem when he enters the world of his memories, there will be a couple of major surprises. I can't tell you what those surprises will be because they are still in development and I'm bouncing around some ideas with a couple of my friends so that I can make it the best part of season 5.
If anyone, and I mean anyone tries to rush me while writing this fanfic or any of my other fanfics, all written chapters will be delayed for a week. No exceptions. Leave a positive review and Happy Reading!

"It doesn't matter what card you play next, Yugi." said Kaiba. "You have nothing that can withstand the phenomenal attack strength of my Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon. You might as well give up now."
"That Ultimate Dragon can wipe out the rest of Yugi's life points with one breath." said Joey. "Kaiba has the upper hand, and he knows it. He's just waiting for Yugi to back down. I don't see how Yuge can pull this one out."
"Unless he has a powerful card that's stronger than Exodia to beat Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, I don't see how." said Paige as Yami looked at the card in his hand and gasped.
"Huh?" said Kaiba as Yami starts laughing.
"Kaiba…..I just drew a card that will defend me against your Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon." said Yami.
"Impossible." said Kaiba.
"Watch and learn." Yami tells him as he brings the duel disk back. "This is it! Hunh! The beginning of your defeat. Kuriboh…..in attack mode!"
"I'm confused." thought Paige as she looked at her brother. "Why did he play that card in attack mode? Unless he was going to use….no way!"
Kuriboh (ATT:300/ DEF:200) warbled onto the field with its cuteness as Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon roared and growled at it.
"That's ridiculous." said Kaiba. "In the entire game, Kuriboh is the weakest monster."
"He's right. What could Yugi be thinking playin' that little guy?" asked Joey.
"Heh heh. Yugi, you're free to concede and forfeit the match." said Kaiba. "But come on….don't embarrass yourself in front of your sister by playing that runt of a monster."
"Hey! Kuriboh may be a runt, but he's one of my favorite monsters from his deck!" shouted Paige as Kuriboh cooed angrily at Kaiba.
"Whatever." Kaiba said. "You must know that's the puniest monster with the lowest attack points in all of duel monsters. I've never known a serious duelist to even keep on in their deck. Yugi, don't insult my intelligence pretending that miserable creature can defend against the unbribed might of my Ultimate Blue Eyes."
"Kaiba, you're mistaken." said Yami. "This card will defend everything."
"Huh?"
"And before this duel's over, your dragon will fall." said Yami.
"My Ultimate Dragon?" question Kaiba. "Nonsense. Hurry up and finish your turn so I can knock the stuffing out of your Kuriboh and win the game."
"As you wish!" shouted Yami and revealed his next card. "My last card will be the magic card, multiply! Multiply works with monsters with attack power below 500 and multiplies them endlessly."
Out on the field, Kuriboh starts to multiply itself on Yugi's side of the field. "More than you bargained for, eh, Kaiba?" asked Yami as Kuriboh continued to multiply.
"So, is this some kind of a joke?" asked Kaiba, shocked that Yami had that up his sleeve.
"Heh heh! The joke's on you, Kaiba." said Yami. "When you attacked, you thought I only had one defender, but now I have many. And I'm getting more and more defenders by the second."
"No matter." Kaiba said angrily. "Have you forgotten the incredible assault power my dragon possess? It'll burn them to a crisp. Neutron Blast!"
Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon fired their Neutron Blast at the Kuriboh wall, only to fire off the first part of the wall. "So there!" said Kaiba. When the dust had cleared, some Kuriboh were still there as more appeared on Yugi's side.
"But wait, what's going on here?" asked Kaiba as she watches more Kuriboh appear. "My dragon's attack had no effect on your life points at all, and those annoying creatures continue to multiply."
"That's right." said Yami as more Kuriboh appeared in front of him. "You can't take away my remaining life points away, Kaiba, until you wipe out all the Kuriboh. But as quickly as you destroy them, they multiply right back."
"Hairballs!" Kaiba exclaimed. "For each one I destroy, uhh, two more take its place."
"That's right." said Yami. "Kaiba, you may have created the Ultimate attack monster, but I've created the ultimate defense…an ever-expanding army of furry protectors. They may not look like much, but they've stopped your dragon in its tracks. That's just the beginning. For now I go on the attack!"
"You've nothing strong enough." Kaiba reminded him.
"Watch me, for I'm going to show you the combo that will bring your dragon down." said Yami, then revealed his next three cards. "Mammoth Graveyard, Polymerization, and the Living Arrow card!"
"What's a Living Arrow Card?" asked Kaiba.
"Living Arrow allows me to use my other cards in combination not with my own cards but with my opponent's monsters." Yami explained. "I'll show you. Normally, I make a fusion with my cards, but for a new twist, Living Arrow lets me fuse my cards with your cards, opening up bold new possibilities."
"Which cards of Kaiba's are you fusing with?" asked Paige.
"Glad you asked, Paige." said Yami as Mammoth Graveyard and Living Arrow fused together on his side of the field.
"Now what?" asked Kaiba.
"I can use the magical power of the Living Arrow to bond my Mammoth Graveyard to the heart of your beast." said Yami. Out on the field, Mammoth Graveyard turned into the Living Arrow and aimed itself right at the heart of Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
Just then, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon roared out in pain as Mammoth Graveyard's head came out of its body. "No, my Dragon!" Kaiba cried out. "What have you done?"
"Since my Mammoth Graveyard is an undead-type monster, he can't properly fuse with your living ultimate dragon." explained Yami. "Instead, it causes your monster to rot and decay….from the inside out. Each turn, your Ultimate Dragon will lose attack points, until your creature is no more. Your so-called Ultimate Dragon…and your victory….is rotting away, Kaiba. It's only a matter of time now. And there's nothing you can do to stop it."
"There must be something I can do to save my Ultimate Dragon." said Kaiba, frightened of what was happening to his creation.
"My Mammoth Graveyard has attack points of 1,200." Yami said to Kaiba. "That means that each turn that goes by, he drains 1,200 points from your Ultimate Dragon's attack power. Soon it will be weak enough for me to destroy."
"He's right." thought Kaiba, looking down at his duel disk. "My dragon's getting weaker every turn, and there's nothing in my deck that can reverse it."
True to Yami's word, Mammoth Graveyard drained 1,200 attack points from Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, lowering it to 3,300. "All right! That single attack is bringing Yugi back from the brink." said Tristan.
"Way to go, Yugi." said Joey. "Ha! You're the man!"
"Great move!" said Tea.
"Huh…." said Paige, looking very impressed at what her brother created. "I never would have thought to do that when I duel."
"You've had it, Kaiba. You're never gonna win this match." said Joey.
"That's just like Yugi. Even when things are looking bad, he always manages to find a way to overcome his opponent." thought Tea.
"Never thought I'd live to see the day that Kaiba was outfoxed." thought Bandit Keith. "That Yugi punk is good. There's just something about him. He's intense that one. It's like he wouldn't let nothin' stop him from winning."
"So what do you say now, Kaiba?" Joey asked. "Guess three heads aren't better than one."
"Hmm." said Yami, pleased at Joey's statement.
"Uhh, cant lose." Kaiba growled lowly, still glaring at Yami. "The fate of Mokuba's soul rides on this game. Attack now, Ultimate Dragon! Neutron Blast!"
Ultimate Dragon goes in for round two with its attack. "Again?" asked Yami as Neutron Blast makes contact with Kuriboh. "When will you learn? The Kuriboh multiply faster than you can eliminate them with your Neutron Blasts. "
"Uhh." growled Kaiba as the smoke cleared and more Kuriboh appeared on the field. "No, I will not, cannot be defeated."
"I'll draw one more card and let my Mammoth finish my turn." said Yami, drawing another card from his deck.
"Soon my Ultimate Dragon will be weak enough for Yugi to destroy outright." thought Kaiba as his Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon's attack points dropped to 2,100. "I've got to keep trying. It's my only hope. Go, Ultimate Dragon! Neutron Blast!"
Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon went again with its Neutron Blast, only for Kuriboh to come back even stronger than ever. "Once again your attack failed, Kaiba. My defense holds." said Yami. "And you have no other strategy to use against me. Your time is running out. You should have never challenged me, Kaiba. You see? My Mammoth takes another 1,200 from your dragon."
Soon as he said that, Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon's attack points dropped to 900 and Kaiba stood there, frozen in shock as he was about to be defeated once again. "Even my weakest monsters can destroy it now." said Yami.
"I can't believe it! I've failed. I've failed my brother." thought Kaiba, shaking in fear as his Ultimate Dragon dripped disgusting ooze from its body on the field. "I failed Mokuba. His soul will be trapped….forever."
"Seto!" Mokuba called out to him.
"Aah!"
"Help, Seto!" Mokuba cried out from inside of his Ultimate Dragon, reaching for him. "Please help me! Brother, please! You promised! You promised to help me!"
"Uhh."
"Mokuba!" cried young Seto as he runs out of Kaiba and runs towards Mokuba.
"AAAH!" screamed Mokuba, reaching out for Kaiba. "Seto, hurry!"
"I'm coming!" said young Seto. "I'll help you!"
"Don't let me down! Help me!" said Mokuba, as he was being sucked inside Ultimate Dragon. "Big Brother, AAH!"
"Mokuba!" screamed young Seto as he ran over to the now destroyed Ultimate Dragon. "You're rotten to the core, Kaiba, just like that Dragon."
"Uhh…Aah!"
"Its all your fault." said young Seto, who turns around to face the older Kaiba.
"Uhh!"
"Why, Seto? Why didn't you help him?" asked the young Seto, frowning at him intensely. "You promised you'd always be there for him. You promised him, Seto Kaiba! You promised!"
"Uhh! Uhh! Uhh!" Kaiba felt he was falling back into a void of nothingness as he called out his brother's name. "Mokuba! Hmm."
Everyone was quiet as Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon growled weakly. "Kaiba hasn't said a word. Its like he's in another world." thought Yugi.
"Whats with Kaiba?" Joey asked. "He's just standing there, completely spacing out."
"Maybe its finally sunk in he's lost." suggested Tristan.
"True. In just a minute it will all be over." said Bakura. "But its almost sad to see a player of his caliber take losing so hard."
"Maybe it due to how Kaiba was raised. That he shouldn't lose at anything." said Paige.
"Ohh." gasped Tea.
"Looks like there's gonna be a new champ." thought Bandit Keith as Ultimate Dragon gave out another weak roar.
"Ohh." groaned Kaiba as he stared out into space.
"It doesn't matter what card I draw now." thought Yugi, then draws another card. "Any monster can defeat his weakened monster. Celtic Guardian. This is it, Kaiba! Prepare to meet your demise! Celtic Guardian, Attack Ultimate Dragon!"
With his sword, Celtic Guardian jumps up into the air, slashing one of the heads of Ultimate Dragon. "All right!" said Joey and Tristan.
"This is so cool." thought Tea as she and Paige looked over at Yami. "Once Yugi defeats Kaiba, he'll be able to rescue his grandfather with Paige at his side."
"Hey, the Ultimate Dragon's still standing." said Joey, causing Yami to gasp. "What's up with that?"
"That's because the Ultimate Dragon is a fusion of 3 Blue Eyes." Bakura explained. "Each of its heads has its own attack power. Celtic Guardian took out one of them, and Kaiba lost the 500-point difference in their attack strength. But when the Celtic Guardian takes out another weakened head next turn, that will wipe out Kaiba and win the match."
"You mean….Kaiba's toast." said Joey.
"Yugi…..it can't end this way." said Kaiba. "If I don't win this duel, Pegasus will Mokuba prisoner…..forever. I can't let that happen. And even though I don't have a card that can't keep you from attacking, I think I still have a strategy that will stop you in your tracks."
"What do you mean?" asked Yami.
"I'm going to force your hand and win this battle, Yugi." said Kaiba.
"Looks more like he's retreating to me." said Joey.
"I'll say." said Paige as they watched Kaiba back up to the stone edge.
"Is this a trick?" asked Joey.
"Yeah. What's he up to?" asked Tristan as Tea gasps at the sight.
"Kaiba!" shouted Yami as Kaiba steps onto the stone ledge. "Stop this!"
"What's Kaiba up to now?" asked Joey. "Does he think this cheap stunt's going to keep Yugi from winning the match and saving his grandpa?
"If it is, then Kaiba has another thing coming." said Paige. "Nothing and I mean nothing, will stop me and Yugi from saving grandpa."
"Your move, Yugi." said Kaiba. "You can attack my Blue Eyes again and wipe out my remaining life points, but if you do, the resulting shock waves might cause me to lose my balance."
"Don't tempt me!" shouted Yami.
"My fate is completely in your hands, Yugi." Kaiba said. "You'll decide this duel, one way or another. Of course, if you don't surrender, I might be hurt. You wouldn't want that, would you?"
"Stop it, Kaiba! You know this is dangerous!" shouted Tea.
"Are you trying to get yourself hurt?" asked Paige.
"Ah, Kaiba's bluffing." said Joey. "Come on, drop this cheap ploy and get down off that ledge and play fair! You know that Yugi doesn't want to hurt you."
"Heh heh heh heh." laughed Kaiba.
"He knows." said Bakura. "He's counting on Yugi to surrender."
"Hmm? But he cant do that." said Joey. "If he loses to Kaiba, he wont get into the castle."
"Ha ha ha ha!" Bandit Keith laughed out loud. "Looks like Kaiba will do anything to come out ahead, just like me."
"I get it, now." said Paige, causing the others to look at her. "He wants Yugi to surrender because of Mokuba."
"I doubt that's what it is, Paige." said Tristan.
"It is. Think about it, you guys." said Paige. "Who does Kaiba care about more than anything in the world besides being the top duelist in the world? Mokuba. Who has him right now? Pegasus. I bet my entire dueling deck that Pegasus has Mokuba's soul and he wont release it until Kaiba defeats Yugi."
"Ha! I'll believe it when I see it." said Joey as Paige rolls his eyes at him.
"You really believe that, Paige?" asked Tea.
"I can feel it, Tea." said Paige. "Pegasus has Mokuba's soul."
"I'm warning you, Kaiba." said Yami. "Don't push me too far. I must win to rescue my and Paige's grandfather."
"And I must win this duel to rescue Mokuba. The difference is, I'm willing to risk anything to do it. You know I can stand up here all day, Yugi." added Kaiba. "And I'm certain you wont make any attack for fear you might knock me off. Even though you know by not attacking, you give up the only chance you have to save you and your sister's grandpa."
Yami growled at this as he glares at Kaiba. "Which means I have the advantage over you. For in my case, there's nothing holding me back." he then said as he still stood on the ledge and drew his next card. "Ah, a magic card. Reborn the Monster. Which I'll use to resurrect the Blue-Eyes head that was just destroyed by your Guardian."
"What? Restore a head of the Blue-Eyes?" questioned Yami. Just then, a band new Blue Eyes White Dragon head appeared from the rotting body.
"Now one of my Blue Eyes with its normal attack power of 3,000 has just been reborn. With all of your Kuribohs in defense mode, I couldn't touch you, but now that you've put an attack monster on the field, I can take out the rest of your life points. Which I'll do next turn." said Kaiba. "2 of Ultimate Dragon's heads are still weakened, but the third can wipe out your Guardin in a breath. Our life points are equal, Yugi. Strike now if you dare. Otherwise, next turn, I swear I'll take you down."
"If I defeat one of the weaker Blue Eyes, I win, but what if the duel battle accidentally knocks him off the ledge?" Yugi asked, thinking to himself.
"Surrender, Yugi!" Kaiba demanded. "That is unless you have the courage to unleash your attack!" The healthy Blue Eyes roared as Kaiba awaits Yugi's answer.
"I must." thought Yami as Yugi separates himself from his body.
"I cant." said Yugi.
"We must." Yami tells Yugi as Celtic Guardian grips his sword.
"No! Its not right!" Yugi said to the Spirit of the millenium puzzle.
"Yugi!" Grandpa shouted to them.
"There must be another way." said Yugi.
"There isn't." Yami said to Yugi.
"Ohh. Look at his face." Tea thought as she looks over at Yugi. "It's like Yugi's struggling within himself to do the right thing, but he can't risk hurting Kaiba."
"I hope Yugi does something before the spirit does." thought Paige.
"Kaiba, I've never backed away, and I'm not starting now." said Yami. "Celtic Guardian, attack!"
"Yugi, you can't!" shouted Tea.
"Stop!" shouted Paige.
Both girls ran over to the spiked hair boy as Celtic Guardian ran over and Blue Eyes roared. "You cant take this risk!" shouted Tea. "Call him back! Yugi, you can't do this! You can't!"
"Call him off! Call him off!" shouted Paige.
"This isn't like you! You've got to stop!" said Tea.
"Please! Listen to us!" said Paige.
"Yugi!" shouted Tea and Paige.
"They're right! We can't do this!" thought Yugi as he falls to his knees. "Stop!" Celtic Guardian stops in his tracks in mid-attack, inches away from Ultimate Dragon as Paige falls to her knees in front of her brother.
"Couldn't do it, huh?" asked Kaiba. "White Lightening Attack!"
Shooting its attack, Blue Eyes aimed at Celtic Guardian, destroying him on the field. "I cant believe it." said Joey as Yugi's life points finally dropped to zero. "That underhanded sleazeball wiped Yugi out."
Yugi starts sobbing as Paige pulls him close, hugging her brother tightly. "Its okay, Yugi." Paige quietly says to him. "I got you."
"Ohh." said Tea, gasping lightly as she watches the brother and sister hug each other.
"Master Pegasus, just now the battle between Yugi and Kaiba was decided. Seto Kaiba was the victor." said Kemo.
"Thank you, Kemo." said Pegasus.
"Shall I allow Seto Kaiba to enter the castle then, sir?" Kemo asked.
"Yes. A deal is a deal." replied Pegasus.
"Done. Right away." said Kemo.
"Good job, Kaiba-boy. As you wished, I will be your next opponent." said Pegasus as he reads a cartoon book. "But little Yugi didn't fare nearly so well in this rematch between the two of you. His spirit is broken. Hmm."
Pegasus looks at the card in his hand. "And his grandfather's soul remains mine." Pegasus said as his evil laughter echoes through his castle. Yugi continues to sob into his sister's shoulder as Kaiba stood there, watching.
"Whats going on here?" Bandit Keith asked himself. "That punk Yugi could've won the game, but he threw it away to Kaiba. Who heard of a duelist doing that?"
"Yugi!" shouted Joey, Tristan and Bakura, running over to the girls.
"Its okay, man." said Joey.
"I almost couldn't control it….." said Yugi. "This other presence deep inside me. He was willing to go all the way against Kaiba!"
"Another presence….inside you?" asked Joey.
"It's true." said Paige.
"What do you mean?" asked Tristan. "What the heck are you talking about, you two?"
"I've seen him, the spirit. I recognize the face when you were both battling the Dox brothers, Joey." Paige explained.
"No way." said Joey.
"Like me, Yugi has some sort of Ancient Spirit inside him. It has something to do with our millenium items." said Bakura. "It might be possible that Paige can even see the Ancient Spirit."
"I'm afraid of this spirit inside me." said Yugi. "So afraid that I will never duel again!"
"I'm sorry, sorry about your grandpa…" said Tea as she came up behind Paige. "But you did the right thing. You and Paige couldn't hurt another person, not even to save him."
"She's right, Yugi. Grandpa wouldn't want that." said Paige. "As much as the both of us want to beat Kaiba, I know that you didn't want him to fall off the ledge. You couldn't live with yourself if that happened. I look up to you, king Spikey."
"He wouldn't want to be saved that way." said Tea as Yugi looked up at her and Paige.
"Then I guess he got what he wanted." said Kaiba, ruining the moment. "If Yugi had done what needed to be done, he would be entering the castle, not me. But he was too weak to follow through on his play."
"My brother is not weak and you know it. Our grandpa raised us better than that." said Paige, standing up and facing Kaiba. "If he followed through on his play, you would be dead from falling at that height, Kaiba, leaving your one and only brother an orphan."
"Paige is right! He spared you!" Tea shouted.
"Huh?" asked Yugi as Tea and Paige stood up for him, shocking Tristan, Joey and Bakura.
"Kaiba, he showed you compassion." said Tea. "Which is more than you deserve."
"Learn something from this, Kaiba. I pity you and I hope that one day, you'll find a better path in life." said Paige.
"He lost the game." said Kaiba.
"The game?" asked both girls.
"Yugi may have lost one lousy Duel Monsters game, but at least he hasn't lost his heart." said Tea. "Not like you, Seto Kaiba."
"As his sister, Yugi taught me how to be a better duelist. There were days when he pretended to lose to me." said Paige. "You are heartless, Seto Kaiba."
"You've spent so much time with your machines, you've forgotten what being human is." said Tea.
"Unh!" growled Kaiba.
"Don't you dare growl at us!" said Paige. "Show some compassion!"
"Yugi has a heart, Kaiba. Yugi has us and Paige." said Tea. "Friends and a sister that'll stand with him to the end, no matter whether he wins or loses some lousy game. And what do you have, Seto Kaiba? What do you have at the end of the day?"
"Other than your company and Mokuba?" asked Paige.
"Tell us. Tell us!" shouted the girls as Kaiba glares at the group, groaning as he throws the star chips in the air.
"I have all that I need." said Kaiba, then walks away.
"Yeah, keep fooling yourself, Kaiba." Joey said to Kaiba's retreating back. "Yugi's twice the man you'll ever be."
"Well, that was a fun way to spend the morning." said Bandit Keith, walking away laughing.
"Your 10-star chips qualify you to enter the inner sanctum." said Kemo as all 10-star chips were placed on the door.
"At last, I'm in." thought Kaiba, standing at the entrance of the castle. "And I'm ready to face you, Pegasus…once and for all."
